Reviews for Hotel Baia Delle Zagare
Review 1:Wi-Fi is on the beach and at the reception, speed is average, but the price is 5 euros per day per one device, so if you come with a family of 3 persons and each family member has a smartphone, then you have to pay 15 euros per day. Breakfast is varied, the taste is average. You can have a dinner at the hotel, but you have to book in advance otherwise it may not be enough seats. Price for dinner is fixed - 35 euros per person. But outside the hotel (2 min. By car) is a wonderful restaurant Barone del Monte, where for 35 euros you two great meals on the grill and wine with big choice. You should pay for the room upon arrival. The apartment itself is not drawn at 4 stars (maximum - 3 stars), old furniture, shower is very small, and you constantly touches the wall. All of the above is the little things, the most important thing that this hotel is only for Italians. Many italian families are resting here for years. The staff is polite and attentive only to Italians. We were constantly ignored, staff did not notice us, did not want to help. Example: in the evening before dinner, staff offerd guests champagne, we werre standing in line. When we were infront of the table with champagne, staff of the hotel didn`t offer us glasses, and started to invite Italians stood back. When leaving the hotel, the reception told us that the drive up "golf mobile" to help take the luggage to the car, we were waiting more than 10 minutes, and then took luggage themselves up to the hill. If you want to feel yourself as outsider, welcome to the hotel.
Review 2:The hotel is in a great location on a hill, so the views are stunning, private territory, parking lot. The hotel area is large enough for it are both rooms and villas, there is a small shop with clothes, swimming pool, bar. Gorgeous beach, can be reached by elevator, is very convenient. In general, the hotel has two beaches, but one of them closed because there is a danger of falling rocks. Hotel provide clean beach towels every day, but charge is 4 euros per towel. The beach has the bar with a poor choice, but quite good lunch, the menu is quite varied, the food is delicious.
Review 3:Absolutely beautiful grounds. Excellent facilities. Good restaurant (huge breakfast choice). Beach superb. Staff helpful and friendly. All in all an wonderful stay.
Review 4:The hotel is in a park like botanic garden. The beach is great. Theyoffer you several double and single kayaks for free and you can explorethe coast. Internet work properly only to reception are, but you canalso read an email or some news on the beach. The restaurant is ok buttoo basic for Puglia. You can eat excellent in Vieste old town - 25 kmfrom the hotel.I Highly recommend Arcaroli, Grottino and Il Dragone. Idon't recommande Monte Barone from the main street - the food is okbut the owners are a little crooked. They change the menu pricedepending how looks your pocket. If you have time go for dinner to PuntaSan Nicola to Trabucco da Mimì. Is about 45 km but the experience willbe amazing.
Review 5:-Hotel front desk could improve (courtesy, waiting times for check-out ...). -Hotel restaurant in the evening only open to guests with half-board bookings.
Review 6:-superb location on beautiful beach that is well equipped (free sea kayaks, one beach parasol attributed to every room without additional cost). -excellent food and very friendly staff at the beach restaurant.
Review 7:Standard of room poor and overpriced not reflective of image portrayed in foyer. Food mass produced in dinner area and matre' dei rude and elitist to non Italians. Drinks overpriced and poor quality.
Review 8:Position of resort unique and amazing private beach removed from lesser areas. Reception staff and owner very congenial.
Review 9:The food is very good, but one may get bored about eating in the same restaurant again and again. Going anywhere else requires a car, but it is absolutely worthed.
Review 10:Everything is just amazing. Just go there and forget about the rest. Full service recommended (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Review 11:Some parts of the hotel could do with some upgrading but it's not much of an issue really
Review 12:The hotel lies in the most spectacular beach in the gargano.the staff are exceptionally warm and hospitable. Breakfast was excellent. Beach bar serves up fantastic fresh light lunches. I would go back any day.
Review 13:We didn't have a balcony. Room quite small but clean. Breakfast was good, but too much sweet things, coffee good.
Review 14:Nothing to complain. All very good organized at the beach with chairs and umbrella for each room. Everything very clean. Very nice garden. Guarded parking-space.
Review 15:Did not really appreciate their class system. If you book classic rooms instead of comfort, they make you feel a bit like 2nd class citizens, i.e. no beach towel, no free Wifi, which I find ridiculous. Even the cheapest B&B gives you free Wifi at least in the common area. It doesn't cost them anything more !
Review 16:Superb very quiet location on the most beautiful Gargano beach, Several buildings, in the middle of a pine forest on the cliff, a pity the trees block the suberb view of the sea from most rooms, even the "comfort" ones.
Review 17:The hotel desperately needs updating, as it seems to be stuck in the 1980s. The food is boring, especially when considering that you are in Puglia - the situation made worse because it is difficult to go elsewhere for dinner, due to the distance from the closest town.
Review 18:The location of this hotel, overlooking one of the most beautiful sites in the Gargano peninsula is unbeatable.
Review 19:the forniture in the bedroom is a little old and the complimentary beauty set not enough for a 4 stars hotel. A service to bring luggage in the bedroom was expected but never show up and bring ourself the lugguge at 3nd floor (without lift) was not nice.
Review 20:the scenary from the beaches is amazing, as well from the terrace of the hotel
Review 21:Breakfast was disappointing
Review 22:Tennis courts were free to use and the equipment was free to hire; plenty of sun beds on the beach; good value for meals; really good dinners
Review 23:First of all, I emailed the hotel directly earlier in the year requesting for a sea facing room. They replied back by return email stating that they do not have any sea facing rooms. That is a lie as they do have same.I booked the room with booking.com. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, so I booked the Quadruple room (their biggest room). But when we reached the hotel, they put us in a dingy small 2 room set on the pretext that they are doing us a favour by giving us a room set with 2 washrooms. When I entered the said room set, it was so small that we could not move around or put our luggage anywhere. So I went back and complained but the manager tried to convince me otherwise. I did not relent, so he told the bell boy in Italian to take us to another room. That room was the Quadruple room but the smell in the room was evident that it was not used for a long time. There were other similar rooms on the said floor but we were refused same. So it was basically take it or leave it. We had to agree as at least it was big enough for us.Throughout our 4 night stay, the entire staff in the hotel (in fact it is a resort and not just a hotel) was very rude to us. We felt like they did not like us being there and that is the reason why they probably tried to put us in a room in a distant building, away from everyone else. We were the only brown people (or people of colour) in the entire resort.Since the resort is in the middle of nowhere, you cannot easily go to any town or city and have to eat all meals at the hotel. They had usually only one option for us and that is boiled pasta. When we asked for chicken to be added to our pasta, they looked at us as if we have committed a crime. Language was a barrier as the staff did not understand even the basic English. At the same time, we saw them talking to other guests very politely and indulging them in every manner.
Review 24:The caves near the hotel where we took a boat trip to.
Review 25:Best eco-resort !!! Management is very professional - food, service, personal attention, everything is exeptional! We are all, party of 6 have had the best time in that place.

Review 35:Very beautifull beach and garden
Review 36:Old fashioned structure but in good condition
Review 37:Cleanliness Definitely the location Peace Free activities on beach Discreteness
Review 38:2 cabinet drawers missing in room. No wifi in room. Mattresses wereuncomfortable. Paid for upgraded ocean view, which turned out a view ofthe restaurant. Extremely limited selection of drinks at beach bar. Notoilet at beach level.
Review 39:Grounds were beautiful. Private, secluded beach. Friendly staff.
Review 40:We arrived in the pre (first) season, so the south-beach was closed. Luckily the north-beach is better. Breakfast selection was average if you are italian, but poor, if you are english or german. Wi-fi internet was very slow and was only available in the lobby.
Review 41:The hotel stands in wonderful place with private beaches and large parks. The staff were very kind, even we arrived after midnight. I recommend this hotel, because you cannot go down this wonderful beach, if you are not a guest.
Review 42:no tea maker in the room.
Review 43:The location, staff and accomodation.
