Reviews for Hotel Europa

Review 1:Poor airconditioning

Review 2:Staff, location - owners and staff all friendly, accommodating and willing to assist at anytime. Location of the Hotel one block from the seafront very convenient.

Review 3:This was one excellent hotel with fantastic personnel. A big thanks to all! The place is full of character and every detail just fits in perfectly. A+ Personnel, pool yard, breakfast, reading corner, deco, paintings, lamps, elevator. Very good location in Lido di Camaiore/ Viareggio. Happy, helpful, multilingual staff. Even saw the gardener tiding up and pruning in areas no standard gardener would ever care. Big compliments!

Review 4:People leaving their towels on unattended loungers in the sun for most of the afternoon - very selfish - whilst rest of us had to make do with the shade!

Review 5:Beautiful old building kept in very good order; it was charming. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast buffet excellent. Parking on site an added bonus. Wish our stay could have been longer. Thanks to staff who returned some forgotten jewellery.

Review 6:Staff are extremely helpful, accommodating and prepared to go the extra mile to assist with any queries or requests. Fabulous oasis of peace and tranquillity, to which I look forward to returning ASAP!

Review 7:No balcony and our room looked into the fire escape. I didn't think to check this so would definitely request a room with balcony next time

Review 8:The staff were exceptional. The pool area is lovely with really comfy sun loungers. I've stayed in nicer hotels but this has a unique comfortable and friendly atmosphere and I would definitely return.

Review 9:The wifi was not entirely reliable - but the guest laptop in reception was excellent.

Review 10:Despite being in the centre of the town this hotel was a perfect place to relax, especially around the pool. The availability of free bikes as there is a long stretch of flat promenade to explore, north and south. Lots of great restaurants on the sea shore - definitely try Batigia, especially at sunset.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were fantastic making you feel so welcome. Nothing was a bother to them. Special mention to Ron on the bar. The outside space with pool is fabulous. We will definitely return next year with the rest of the family!

Review 13:There is nothing to see in that town; It is expensive in the middle of a mass category summer place; Very strict parking place; Wifi hardly works; You heard the neighbours and the corridor; Little, dark room; Stratched floor

Review 14:Own parking place; Own swimming pool; Own coctail bar; Very kind staff; Because of 4 stars it is very well-equipped (e.g. razor)

Review 15:The hotel is Art Deco style. that itself is fine but the rooms are small and need updating. The bathrooms are very poor, small shower and very old, grimey tiles. The beds need replacing, we woke each other up each time one of us rolled over due to creaking noises. The wifi is only usable in the lobby area. Breakfast was OK but not special. The pool area is pleasant although the pool is quite small. We found getting a sunbed quite a challenge. This part of the Versilia is very busy in the peak weeks and the beach is basically owned by beach bars and hotels on the seafront. It means you must pay 20 euros per day to rent a couple of beds in a very busy resort.

Review 16:The staff at this hotel are really helpful and friendly. A special mention for Ron who does a great job at the bar. The hotel is conveniently located for the seafront.

Review 17:Small and very old bathroom, specially shower with only fixed shower over head, bidet without real function difficult to use. Need mosquitoes nets on balcony doors/windows. Very small and old lift..

Review 18:Nicely decorated hotel at good location but definitely far away from 4 stars, could deserve 3 at most. Attractive on a first sight but need refurbishment.

Review 19:Most of the facilities are very old. The elevator, the furniture, the sanitary-ware are all of considerate age, although week attempts at renovation are noteciable.

Review 20:- Friendly and helpful staff - free parking - good breakfast

Review 21:This hotel is like paradise! Great location, service! Wonderful stuff, kind and very helpful, good English!!! Especially, big thanks to cheerful Ron and to beautiful, clever Luciana!!! Very clean, cozy, beautiful villa. Full breakfast, a lot of everything, served in the garden.

Review 22:Loved everything!

Review 23:The staff, the bar man, my husband got to learn lots about the different Italian spirits :) The property was just beautiful, it took you back in time. We had a lovely room on the top floor with a balcony and could even see the sea. We were only staying for one night, had a last minute deal and very good price.

Review 24:Location to beach is fantastic. There is a pool and large patio to enjoy. Hotel is very quiet. Restaurants close ior a short drive to towns nearby. On site parking a plus.

Review 25:Small shower (claustraphobic) and air conditioning would not get temperature to comfortable level. Muggy and hot

Review 26:Location, price, breakfast and pool... The staff were very nice and accommodating.

Review 27:The hotel from the outside wouldn't look out of place on Miami's South beach. Rooms were spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area was lovely. Steps into the water with a jacuzzi area and the comfiest sunloungers ever!

Review 28:Parking was a little tricky but a very helpful member of staff moved one of the other cars so I could get out.

Review 29:Room was better than expected, we even had a verandah and 2 bathrooms. Bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were excellent.

Review 30:the staff were great especially an American guy called Ron who knew so much about the area and was able to advise about potential trips and provided me with so much information in our discussions. I would return to this hotel with my family because of him.

Review 31:I'd say this is the best hotel in whole Tuscany coast resort. Its a bit old fashion, but we love this style. Breakfest is great, garden area and free parking is very good. Staff nice and helpful. Very close to the sea! We love it.

Review 32:though it is a very nice hotel and I would definitely return here, I would not rate it as a 4 star, but rather a solid 3 star. The floor and the bathroom could use some improvements. Not all rooms have a balcony, so be careful when booking if you want one.

Review 33:good location - though it is not in the first line - it is a 3 minutes walk to the beach. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking is a plus. The hotel has also offered discounts for the beach and a couple of nearby restaurants.

Review 34:No dinner service. They did allow take out pizza in the hotel. Shower / toilets cramped. No bath.

Review 35:Lovely building, welcoming staff, customer focused, dealt with booking problem amicably, pool was very nice. Family room 201/212 worked well for us. Breakfast very nice.

Review 36:Wifi could be better but that's Italy for you, don't expect breakneck speed here.

Review 37:The atmosphere was great, very chic, staff excellent, close to the beach, bikes for guest use, owner great bloke, gave great recommendations

Review 38:Lovely pool area but felt the swimming pool was in need of a clean. Our room had a tiny shower cubical,

Review 39:Architecture, wonderful staff, robust bicycles and excellent breakfast and light lunch(optional).

Review 40:the parking is a bit of a hassle, but the staff is very careful in arranging the cars, so i felt really secure giving them the keys. the lunch was a bit average (as the rest was so awesome it was a bit of a disappointment, but actually ok if you dont expect too much) the room was a bit plain and small, given that the rest of the building is so beautiful. and we even did not have the smallest room. it is made up for though by the rest of the facilities which are awesome.

Review 41:fantastic staff. especially Luciana who ensured two great evenings for us. first evening she recommended Pietrasanta, a lovely town closeby, great for dinner and an evening stroll, and the second night she went out of her way to organise a special restaurant for us; an old watermill in the hills on top of the river with great food and atmosphere. thank you Luciana for making our stay extra special also we loved the hotel, an former landhouse, made into four star hotel. lovely pool, lovely breakfast.

Review 42:Parking lot too small, it gets crowded easily. But most other hotels in the area dont have any parking lots at all.

Review 43:A beautiful villa, great breakfast, nice staff. Beach is one block away, 3 minutes walk.

Review 44:Very small rooms. Small and inconfortable bathrooms. Poor breakfast, ( no natural yoghurt, lack of variety of all other food). No restaurant available in the hotel (4star hotel).

Review 45:Staff very friendly! Good location.

Review 46:Wifi reception was not fanctastic in places. Car parking was pretty cramped at times, but we always found space.

Review 47:Very Friendly staff all with great english. Rooms were well laid out, quiet and clean. Overall hotel atmosphere was very plesant, nice relaxing pool and very well maintained gardens. Would go back

Review 48:wi-fi is patchy though seems to be more reliable than on previous visits

Review 49:The excellent breakfasts; the lovely staff; the location near the beach; the cleanliness; the vintage look and feel of the hotel

Review 50:The bathroom was a little too small, shower was the overhead-only type, which I don't enjoy.

Review 51:Pool area. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly. Comfortable rooms. Wi-fi, tv, fridge and air-con.

Review 52:The price per weekend is 2 times higher than other days, but it is normal in this location.

Review 53:Smart, professional and very helpfull staff. Very nice, romantic and luxorious hotel 100 m from beach. Free parking. Interesting atmosphere, nice swimming pool, very rich breakfast.

Review 54:It is hard to say what we did not like.

Review 55:The view from the rooms were perfect. I could see the moon and many flowers in the garden. The beach was very near and we could eat nearby. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 56:Air conditioning was ineffective in the room I had (103) even after being reported to management. It worked but not very well.

Review 57:Nice comfortable, relaxed environment and very helpful staff.

Review 58:Not staying longer

Review 59:Beautiful establishment, very pleasant/friendly staff

Review 60:Stunning little gem run by lovely people

Review 61:Location, hotel's facilities, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff

Review 64:Very dark rooms - dark colours of decoration and lighting.

Review 65:Friendly staff, nice breakfast and bar, lovely garden area, close to beach and promenade.

Review 66:Style, clean, nice, great breakfast, pool, staff, services

Review 67:Small room.

Review 68:The people, the palazzo.

Review 69:Friendly staff and wonderful hotel. Inexpensive. Free parking and I loved having access to free bicycles. Very cute hotel.

Review 70:Room was well appointed but very small.

Review 71:Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. We would return in a heartbeat.

Review 72:everything from the staff, location perfect

Review 73:Excelent breakfast, cosy rooms, clean and beautiful beach, pleasant stuff

Review 74:Excellent staff, very friendly, well appointed rooms, great breakfast

Review 75:Nice location, close to the sea, very quiet. Mainly for people over 50.

Review 76:the friendlienes of the staff

Review 77:Unique hotel , great location, wonderful staff. What a contrast to 'chain ' hotels, they could learn a thing or two from these guys. !

Review 78:From start to finish the staff went out of there way to make our stay as enjoyable as it could be we will be back...

Review 79:Everyone very friendly and could not do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Thanks Luciana and Antonio for all your help.

Review 80:perhaps could do with more seating around the pool area

Review 81:Lovely old building making a very good hotel

Review 82:The warm welcome after a long trip

Review 83:The room & bathroom too small.

Review 84:Good location. Excellent staff.

Review 85:none

Review 86:breakfast, staff, location, service, personal contact, family room, bikes, limoncello :-)

Review 87:We had a fabulous week at Europa Hotel, the staff are wonderful and could not do enough for us, friendly as well as helpful.

Review 88:Excellent hotel, room, service

Review 89:Wifi-connection could be better. More regular maintenance on bikes or renawal of bikes.

Review 90:Friendly people. Breakfast was very good. Free hire of bikes.

Review 91:Wifi reception wasn't great.

Review 92:We were visiting Lido di Camiorie after a wedding near Lucca. We had themost wonderful last two nights here in Hotel Europa. The hotel was soclean, the staff were fantastic (all of them were really friendly, whichis a rare find!) and it was so reasonable. Since we were there duringthe World Cup, the staff had a big screen in reception for guests toenjoy the football, it was such as nice touch as we all gatheredtogether. The pool area is really lovely, so relaxing and quiet. You canalso get drinks served to your sunbed and they are very reasonable. Theatmosphere was brilliant and we would recommend it to anyone! We'lldefinitely be back!

Review 93:Sauna was not working, wifi was intermittent. one room was a little cramped - the other was larger but air con was not sufficient to cool the room down

Review 94:Excellent location and beautiful building and pool. Staff were very helpful and welcoming

Review 95:There was a little bit of noise from the road outside but the hotel and the beautiful walled garden more than made up for it!

Review 96:We really enjoyed our stay in this liberty style hotel, a real gem. We had a nice room (one of their small doubles) with small balcony overlooking the garden and swimming pool. Attention to detail throughout. Staff efficient and friendly. Their breakfast is divine, well set out - home made cakes for breakfast, different types of fresh bread available, fresh fruit etc. With the possibility of having your breakfast in the garden. I would have liked to have stayed longer!

Review 97:tv could do with some English channels cnn only,

Review 98:Good location, very nice pool, room very nice, good atmosphere to the hotel, very friendly staff always eager to please

Review 99:The road outside can be busy and a little noisy

Review 100:High levels of cleanliness, supportive and friendly staff,a quality experience. A good poolside area with sun beds, tables and chairs.

Review 101:His hotel suited our needs perfectly. Lovely pool area with very comfortable sun loungers. We had a lovely light lunch with a glass of wine which was both delicious and very reasonable - a thing which is very hard to get as most hotels want to serve you a full lunch. Staff excellent. Very friendly and welcoming which gives the hotel a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Review 102:- Breakfast is not very varied and does not change from day to day.- Hotel room doors slam exceptionally hard and loud (which is a common problem in many hotels but, in this case, decibel levels are off the charts). Need good earplugs. - Parking is tiny and the hotel rules state that you should (but not must) hand over your car keys so that they may move your car. However, hotel rules also state that the hotel cannot be held responsible for damage or theft of items in the vehicle if you hand over your keys!!! Bottom line, don't hand over your keys. - The hotel reception recommended Restaurant La Pergola indicating that we were entitled to a 10% discount. Food was of poor quality and quite expensive. But the kicker was that they boosted the price of some items on the bill in order to counter the effect of the 10% discount, which we did not notice at the time. Thieves. We asked the hotel management to address this issue but did not. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO to La Pergola as there are plenty of good quality restaurants on the boardwalk.

Review 103:Firm mattress. Good wifi. Good breakfast service.

Review 104:Do not expect to see the sea from the promenade; the whole seafront is cut off by bagnios who charge you money to use the beach. In fact Lido Di Camaiore is a nightmare for people who do not love to be at a totally overcrowded beach cramped with parasols for kilometres. Take a bicycle and cycle south to Pineta di Levante.

Review 105:Very nice and clean hotel with helpfull and friendly stuff. Breakfast is great and the rooms have a perfect size. Its worthwhile spending the extra money on the superior rooms.

Review 106:Guys, the best hotel I ever stayed. Very nice villa, very cosy, perfect service, very clean, delicious breakfast, spacy rooms, not many people, smiling staff, perfect location, relaxing swimming pool, beach in 3 mins walk (all the hotels have no private beaches on this cost, but you can pay 13Є per person and get a nice place on the beach, the other option is to go and swim in the sea from the hotel swimming pool). Restaurants are everywhere (visit Baron restaurant,it's the best there, right near the beach), train station is 10 mins by taxi or 20 mins by bysicles( for free in the hotel). We want to come here again!!!

Review 107:The hotel was built in 1890. And it's really interesting place for vacation. Breakfast was excellent-many fruits, good fresh juice and etc. The seashore is just nearby.

Review 108:There are a limited number of sun loungers available at the pool area.

Review 109:the facilities are good, lovely pool nice bar and very friendly helpful staff. location was good near restaurants and the beach.

Review 110:Absolutely nothing!

Review 111:Loved everything about this beautiful hotel. It met our every need. Fabulous room with 2 bathrooms, balcony and terrace. Each member of staff ever so polite and helpful. Nothing was a bother. Many thanks to all for making sure our stay was so enjoyable particularly Arianna, Lucy, Tony and of course Alberto for driving us to Pietresanta! Really enjoyed the privacy of our terrace, loved the pool and the bar. Excellent location and great having bicycles available when required. And taxi to airport. Mille grazie

Review 112:The staff was VERY friendly, kind, and service minded. The atmosphere was perfect, the hotel was very nice, and location was also very good.We also loved using the hotel bikes for getting around. -Top score for everything!

Review 113:We were looking for a place to stay for one night that was restful and relaxing and Hotel Europa was the ideal spot. Staff was friendly and helpful, plus it was great they had bikes to use to cruise the strip.

Review 114:no entertainment at night in hotel .. cant fault it otherwise

Review 115:beautiful scenery ,comfortable friendly efficient service , free bikes , lovely pool and bella backround music "! Great taxi driver- Alberto !!

Review 116:all staff were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was extremely clean and the pool area was a quiet and peaceful place to relax. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Review 117:Some people may find the breakfast choice a bit basic but it's perfectly adequate and can be taken either in the dining room or outside on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool.

Review 118:It is no exaggeration to say that this is one of those rare jewels that are a sheer delight to discover! Apart from its setting in an exquisitely restored 19th Century villa, perhaps the most outstanding aspect of the hotel is the friendliness of the staff and excellent service provided as other reviewers have said. This very refreshing air of happiness permeates from the top, as it so often does, and clearly, high quality training is a priority for owner Antonio who is always very visible himself and ready to be helpful including tips for visiting the many attractions of the area. Our bedroom and bathroom were both spacious and spotlessly clean with fresh linen and towels every day. We requested in advance a quiet room and it was just that, situated at the rear of the hotel on the top floor with a little balcony which afforded stunning views of the Tuscan hills.

Review 119:needed to be very quiet at night if having a few drinks. would be very good if food in the evenings was provided and some entertainment at night also.

Review 120:Friendly staff. very clean and unique hotel. good location. very clean.

Review 121:Would be nice to be able to have cooked breakfast, only option was scrambled egg, although service was excellent and all staff members very friendly.

Review 122:Great idea to have complimentary bikes available to explore the coast on.
