Reviews for Hotel Edda Ísafjördur
Review 1:this hotel is in a great location in the town, it's very clean and well kept. also found it warm for duration of stay. the Wi-Fi only works in the lobby but that was not an issue for me.
Review 2:My complete bed should have been replaced 5 years ago (my opinion). It was like sleeping in a hammock. I managed to survive the night by putting a shelf of the large bookshelf above the bed between bed and mattress.
Review 3:Very clean
Review 4:This should be called a hostel rather than a hotel. We booked a double bed which turned out to be two single beds pushed together. Sleeping in a dorm room is not the experience we were expecting when booking a hotel. Hotel Edda should seriously consider changing their name to Hostel Edda to better represent what they're really offering. Also, the booking site said they had free wifi but it turned out to only be available in the lobby.
Review 5:The rooms were warm and the beds were nice so we got a good night's sleep.
Review 6:Furnishings were shabby. Private bathroom tiny. WIFI only in the lobby.
Review 7:Heat, plumbing, etc. worked fine. Clean sheets and comfortable beds. Nice breakfast.
Review 8:Internet in lobby only No self serve laundry anywhere Priced a little steep
Review 9:Close to town Hotel offered laundry service Tjoruhusid Restaurant at Maritime Museum Free computer in lobby
Review 10:Wifi only in lobby, not in room. No kettle in the room. The room itselfis super basic, one would expect more for 145 euros, at least breakfastto be included in the accomodation price. There are two beds placedtogether, they constantly change position during night and it's notvery comfortable.
Review 11:Clean and sufficiently cozy if one doesn't stay for more than 1night.
Review 12:From the parking you have to carry your luggage over a flight of stairs in open air. Quite inconvenient.
Review 13:Hotel was as expected from the description, the shared bathroom facilities reminded us of our student times. Fun :-) Picknick food package is a very good idea of Edda's!
Review 14:From several Edda hotels in Iceland, this was the worst one. Reception people had no interested in helping, it's located in a school, felt like an old hospital.
Review 15:Location is good, just entering Isafjordur.
Review 16:Everything else. The bedrooms were absolutely basic. The sofas in the TV lounge were stained and dirty. The shower rooms and toilets were totally insufficient for the number of guests.I think the staff are students and nobody seemed to be organising them properly. I reported at 6 pm that the paper towels and toilet paper had run out in one of the washrooms and they still hadn't been replaced the morning after. Although the breakfasts were quite good, when things ran out they were not always replaced quickly. This wasn't a cheap place to stay and was certainly our worst B and B in 2 weeks in Iceland.
Review 17:The location was good. Breakfasts were OK.
Review 18:Fire alarm at 3am. WiFi only in the lobby!
Review 19:free wifi was only available in lobby
Review 20:you know what to expect when you book edda. solid room with boarding room charm. comfy bed, large room

Review 22:Only WiFi in lobby area.
Review 23:Breakfast, price, location, very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 24:It was so expensive for so little. The hotel seemed a very old hospital.
Review 25:The location was good, but it was the only thing really.
Review 26:Shared bathrooms, wifi only in the lobby
Review 27:Good location, clean, helpful staff and a decent breakfast
Review 28:Good basic accomodation.
Review 29:Pricey for a shared bathroom. Wifi limited to lobby.
Review 30:Clean facilities with comfortable beds. Happy to get a room at short notice.
Review 31:wifi only on ground floor, no communal kitchen, no kettle in room
Review 32:close to town
Review 33:Nothing to dislike, pretty basic, not a charming place.
Review 34:Clean and big room, everything was as it should be.
Review 35:Hotel quality very poor
Review 36:No think
Review 37:Bathroom was poor, water all over, no shower curtain.
Review 38:Staff was good and kind.
Review 39:The parking is in lower level and you have to climb the stairs with the luggage
Review 40:We stayed in the rooms with private both and toilet Good sized rooms, clean
Review 41:Wifi was not free. I didn't notice this in the fine print. This was a big disappointment - a cheap and nasty trick - and so out of touch with modern reality. This was the most expensive hotel on my 8-day trip and it was a big disappointment and annoyance to fine that wifi wasn't free.
Review 42:Nice modern hotel. The staff were friendly and competent.
Review 43:Everything else. Especially the bathroom. It was horrible.
Review 44:The location and price were good. The bedding was very comfortable.
Review 45:It's too expensive considering that the hotel is a dormitory modified during high season. No wifi, no services.
Review 46:Just in city centre
Review 47:Big room, good shower. Good location. Clean.
Review 48:This is not a hotel, it is High School accommodation. The toilet/shower facilities were poor.
Review 49:no Free Internet bad building, much noise from other guests
Review 50:No wifi in the room.
Review 51:Confort and staff.
Review 52:Bathrooms
Review 53:Friendly staff Good breakfast Great location
Review 54:internet connection only in the lobby,
Review 55:friendly staff, quiet rooms
Review 56:rien à noter, tout était conforme
Review 57:l'endroit et la propreté
Review 58:Utilitarian block. Felt like a large youth hostel. Nowhere near enough shared showers.
Review 59:Lakeside position. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds.
