Reviews for Il Battistero

Review 1:The frosted glass encaged toilet facilities and shower set up was not to our tastes

Review 2:Giandomenico tried so hard to please. The short Chopin recital bought tears to the eyes

Review 3:Loved everything about this B & B but we did spend a couple of minutes trying to find the place as the signage is quite small.

Review 4:Friendly and helpful staff/owners, stylish accommodation and perfect location.

Review 5:If you are placed in a room that opens on the piazza the noise from the cafes downstairs can be considerable until past midnight -- which might be a problem for guests who like to retire early. But it should be noted that on the most boisterously noisy night of our stay, the owner of the cafe in question offered to send up a free bottle of wine to our room, so we wouldn't feel left out of the festivities...

Review 6:The hosts were wonderfully warm, knowledgeable, generous and charming. The breakfast was sumptuous; the location was remarkable -- it included exquisite views of the Cathedral from the breakfast terrace. The design of our room was extraordinary and thought-provoking: high Florentine chic in an ancient building of great elegance..

Review 7:As it is in the middle on the town there is of course street noise. For us no problem but if you are sensitive for this be aware

Review 8:Perfect location. Big rooms. Very nice and friendly owners. Beautiful terrace

Review 9:Having to leave!!

Review 10:The hosts , so helpful, breakfast superb with home made apple cake plus all the usual treats . A recital of Chopin from Giandomenico on the piano . Doesn't get much better.

Review 11:This B&B is in a beautiful old building right on one of the two main squares, and yet the rooms have been cleverly restored to include modern bathroom fittings. The location is superb, the beds very comfortable, the breakfast excellent, and the owners go out of their way to be of assistance on anything you need. We enjoyed our stay there enormously and have already booked to return.

Review 12:Great friendliness of host and meeting the extended family who greeted us like long lost friends. They went out of there way to give us the best bacon and eggs in Italy for breakfast. The location and views were wonderful, an old town well worth visiting.

Review 13:Having to leave at the end of our stay.

Review 14:Il Battistero was, by far, the best of several good stays in several good locations during our three-week vacation. It is located in a beautiful piazza in a beautifully preserved small city in Le Marche. The owners have redeveloped it with a perfect sense of design. The room was perfectly appointed and beautifully fixtured and furnished. But beyond that, Giandomenico -- our host -- was endlessly kind, considerate, helpful and a source of helpful information. When we arrived with friends who were staying elsewhere, he insisted on showing them to their hotel and the parking for it. When we left by train he insisted upon driving us to the station in his own car. The breakfasts were lovely too. I cannot imagine how our experience could be improved.

Review 15:The bar below was noisy one night until midnight

Review 16:The location of the B&B is excellent and we received a warm welcome from Giandomenico. The room décor and materials are interesting and pleasing and it has an excellent shower! There is good variety at breakfast, ideally enjoyed on the lovely terrace.

Review 17:The square can be noisy at night

Review 18:The B&B is located next to the duomo of Ascoli on one of the main squares with beautiful views on the duomo and the surrounding hills. The B&B itself is on the top floor of a nice old building, but don't worry the wonderful hosts (two brothers) will carry your luggage and you will be welcomed by their "mama" upstairs. Rooms are very well designed, with a beautiful bed and a great shower. Breakfast on the terrace was a feast. Recommended!

Review 19:Great location on very nice piazza close to everything. Fantastic roof top balcony for breakfast. Rooms very modern with everything you need. Very very attentive hosts who would do anything for you.

Review 20:If you're a light sleeper, you may have problems with the noise from the common rooms as the doors have no noise isolation whatsoever. Some comfort had to give way to the design too.

Review 21:This is a beautiful place on a wonderful location in the heart of the town, with easy access and very friendly owners. If you like modern architecture in a historical surrounding: go.

Review 22:Nothing. Not being able to stay longer! Visitors beware of parking shortage--there is a good, relatively cheap (70 cents an hour) parking lot on Mazzini near the east end of the town, and a cheaper one on the north side of town (GIL) that is only 2 euro a day. Don't bother looking for a street spot--the spaces are nearly, if not all, for residents.

Review 23:The hosts are extremely outgoing and accommodating. The location is perfect. I am a light sleeper so I was a tad bit concerned about night noise and light on the piazza but the windows are double-glazed (yeah!) and with two shutters, I slept really well. The futon is very comfortable and the cotton sheets a dream! Breakfast was lovely, hosted by Giandomenico who is happy to chat and make a second cappuccino, and serve endless tortes and other specialties. There is a wonderful terrace with a view but it was too cold to sit out but in summer that would be great. It's all modern and just to my taste with a fabulous rain shower-head and lots of hot water! And a darling sink basin. Just loved it all. I was greeted with offer of assistance with my bag and given a bottle of water and a glass which I needed badly (so thoughtful). I hope to stay again.

Review 24:It is not possible to park near the Hotel but a convenient public parking is located nearby. The set up of the room including W.C. and shower is very modern but probably not always suitable to very old people.

Review 25:The accommodation is in the very The accommodation is located in the center of Ascoli, next to the Battistero. The owners were very friendly and made you feel "at home". We were free to use the terrace on the roof as well as the coffee-bar. They rent 3 rooms only.Good breakfast.

Review 26:Semi-transparent glass in the bathroom, though, gives a new dimension to the concept of privacy...

Review 27:We loved the location: great view on the square from the room and the roof terrace (breakfast!), heart of a nice and vivid city, (paid) parking nearby (Torricella), bar nextdoor (no noise). The interior design is modern, which we liked. And the guys who run it were very friendly. A place to be recommended.

Review 28:owners were amazing, so friendly and welcoming absolutely beautiful apartment - well equipped, spotlessly clean and very modern. Our family had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend Il Battistero!

Review 29:Very warm and personal welcome by wonderful hosts, beautiful design, unique location and view, excellent breakfast, great wifi connection. You feel at home and privileged to be there!

Review 30:Nothing !!!

Review 31:Superb location next to the duomo and battistero. Fantastic breakfast on the rooftop with gorgeous view!! Beautiful designed rooms. Very charming and friendly host. Enchanting!!

Review 32:Very cosy atmosphere. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast with home-made cakes. Would definitely stay there if we visit Ascoli Piceno again.

Review 33:Der perfekte Ort, un posto meraviglioso, the perfect place, un endroit perfect!

Review 34:Excellent location, Owners are great :), Rooms are beautiful with amazing views of the Battistero. No complaints at all.

Review 35:Incredible experience!! Great staff

Review 36:Great location, aesthetics, friendly staff.

Review 37:The Battistero is centrally located and the breakfast we had was outstanding. The host was very friendly and very proud of his town

Review 38:Fantastic hosts, beautiful and comfortable, amazing location, I highly recommend Il Battistero.

Review 39:Three flights of stairs

Review 40:Proximity to activities in the city.

Review 41:Beware of crazy traffic rules in this town. When I got back to my car there was a parking ticket for parking in a place that had to be cleaned in the morning. There was no sign to warn me for this and the streets probably were not cleaned since the middle ages by the look of them. So it must be a way to make a money by the local government. A local confirmed this: “This is Italy you know”.

Review 42:The B&B is on one of the main squares of town and difficult to find. Nobody seems to know of it's existence. Parking is a disaster as the whole inner city is parking for residents and officials only. When you arrived when there is something on in town, like I did, all the regular parking spaces are full which leads to endless circling. In the end I had to park the car a 20 minute walk from the B&B in a residential area across the river. When I got back to the square the B&B was just to the left of the church when facing this There was a warm welcome and all amenities of the place were explained in detail. My room was very nice with design features everywhere. You will not find this type of room often as a B&B room. Very bright and clean and minimalistic. I missed a small desk for my computer though. Free WiFi internet did not work at first but when I took the PC close to the main antenna it picked up the connection and worked well when I returned to the room. Breakfast was great with too much to choose from and fresh orange juice. A real treat.

Review 43:The city is not that big. The Batistero is on a pizza not available to cars during the day.. When you arrive, you will have to park your car behind the building. Make sure you have a good view of google map before you get there.

Review 44:Very nice host. Very nice modern room in a very old building. Very clean. Nice location on a major piazza. Once you close all windows it is very quiet. Parking is available in the area and you have to pay during the day. Your host will help you to find a cheap place to park only few minutes away. Very nice and romantic city.

Review 45:Everything was perfect!

Review 46:The location is splendid overlooking the sacral structures: baptistry and the cathedral. Minutes from "piazza" with quaint restaurants, shops etc. and yet beautifully peaceful and relaxing. The place itself is Architectural Digest of design and comfort and the people that run it are fantastic. A must visit.

Review 47:Amazing shower! Everything is new and has nice design. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 48:The people who ran it were very friendly and helpful.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Location, history of the place and two very friendly brothers owners.
