Reviews for Park Hotel Villa Ariston

Review 1:Although we got a big room the AC did not work properly and we were a bit cold. Although the hotel staff tried to fix it, it didn't really help. We got extra blankets...

Review 2:Our room was upgraded and we got a huge room in Duse building. Breakfast was pretty good. Hotel grounds are well maintained.

Review 3:We had choosen a last minute deal, and because of that probably we had to stay in a building at the back of the ground. But, nevertheless it was fine.

Review 4:The heated swimming pool was nice to have, in september it can be a little bit cold sometimes. Also the breakfast was outstanding with a wide range of food. A luxury place to stay.

Review 5:This is an awesome place, we actually stayed an extra night we enjoyed it so much. The breakfast was fabulous as was the pool. The bartenders were great and directed us to great pizza restaurants.

Review 6:Upon checking in and seeing how nice the hotel looked, my wife asked the clerk if we could extend our stay for one night and he advised that we could. After lunch at the superb pool side restaurant, my wife went back to reiterate that we wanted to extend for one night and the matter seemed set. The next morning we discovered that certain procedures had not been followed and that the hotel had in the meantime become fully booked. As indicated the manager dealt very professionally with this problem. Suggestion for travelers: make sure you have written confirmation when orally extending stays at popular places

Review 7:This is a beautiful resort with a great pool area, interesting grounds, a good restaurant, and a reserved beach area just across the street. Rooms in the Villa were charming and varied in size just a bit(we had three rooms, some had larger sleeping/dressing areas, some had smaller bathrooms--all were good but this is not a cookie cutter every room the same type of place.) Nice exercise room, clay tennis courts, and ample parking. Buffet breakfast was very nice, We wanted to extend our stay for one day but there apparently was some misunderstanding by the clerk at the front desk and the hotel became fully booked. The manager dealt very professionally with the issue and advised that they would change the hotel's procedures to address the problem. While this hiccup was unpleasant, it did not detract from the fact that this Hotel, its staff and its facilities are excellent.

Review 8:Disappointed with my choice at dinner. The spaghetti was out of a packet and not well-cooked - it spoilt an otherwise perfect place.

Review 9:Stunning place - just sorry we were only there one night and had to leave early before breakfast.

Review 10:No lift in the main building (but there is one in the modern annex). The maître d' wasn't especially helpful. He made a big fuss of asking if we had a dinner reservation before eventually finding us a table, even though the restaurant was half empty for the whole evening on both occasions.

Review 11:Great hotel that's set-back from the road and has excellent grounds. We stayed in the main building, which is a mix of classical Italian and Louis XIV styling. I think the rooms in the annexe are more modern and probably more practical, but we enjoyed the classical style. Nice pool.

Review 12:Lack of full and correct public transport information. Please make the tea with the boiling water on the tea bag!

Review 13:Excellent Food Excellent Pool Very helpful and friendly staff Overall excellent an experience.

Review 14:Gardens and Swimming Pool facility The change from sun Loungers to Exclusive Dinner tables outside in the evening . The attention to details by the staff.

Review 15:Having to pay to use sun loungers on the hotel beach - common in Italy but seemed odd to us that they weren't included. Would have been nice if pool was open earlier in the morning and later in the evening but now being very picky!!

Review 16:Facilities very good & very well kept. Bedrooms cleaned promptly with clean sheets & towels daily. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 17:Very nice, intimate hotel, in a quiet area. Accessible to Forte Del Marmi. Very friendly staff, who made the whole family welcome. The family rooms were a good size and kept very clean and tidy. The staff kept the pool quiet and peaceful (e.g. no ball games in the pool), which was appreciated by most hotel residents. The beach is easily accessible (cross the road outside the hotel), which was clean, well maintained (although a little expensive to pay for a full family every day).

Review 18:The room was very elegant; staff friendly. Fairly careful also to cater for special diets. The private beach and the special attentions we were given by the staff beach were a very pleasant surprise.

Review 19:breakfast good but could be better considering the quality of hotel beach services should be free or with considerable discount for quests to feel good they are part of hotel ,other beach facilities around hotel were actually cheaper!!!

Review 20:great location and lots of historical character which make it very special, easy access to nice area and beach, good swimming pool with safe guard in general i loved it

Review 21:You had to pay for hotel beds at beach between 35 and 40 euro aday this should be identified on booking not on arrival . Gym was poor badly equipped over 2 small locations , no air conditioning and thus nobody seemed to use

Review 22:The pool and location opposite sea

Review 23:Not all rooms have outdoor space. Loungers on hotel's beach very expensive

Review 24:Property was beautifully kept, staff were so friendly & helpful. Pool & surroundings lovely. Our 3 year old & 8 year old loved the pool.

Review 25:Access to Lido and transportation seems a bit fixed.

Review 26:Charming property, location is excellent for touring coastal towns. Promenade is just steps away with good to great restaurants.

Review 27:Food in restaurant was mediocre yet very expensive. Rooms and 2nd hotel building had some added perfume that was overwhelming

Review 28:I really liked the bar, very cozy , great bartender and drinks. Rooms were comfortable and balconies were wonderful. Grounds and pool were inviting and attractive

Review 29:none

Review 30:The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was quite overwhelming. Breakfast was lovely. Great pool facility with a life guard on duty at all times. Opposite the beach and walking distance to the peer.

Review 31:Breakfast could have wider choice for a family with kids: more vegetables and fruits. at room would be nice to have a tea pot. a playrgound fopr the kids is pretty old. Needs entertainment program in the evenings: live Music outisde, wine drinking or similar

Review 32:Very friendly staff, clean and spacious pool, wonderful design, old italian / stylish atmosphere.

Review 33:No shower curtain, not very comfortable pillows.

Review 34:It was so luxurious that we first even thought there was a mistake and at the check-out they will ask us to pay at least twice the price :) The territory is really beautiful with lots of flowers and "secret" corners where you can relax and enjoy the day.

Review 35:Desk staff forgot to return Passports at checkout, resulted in significant delay in travel plans and cancellation of other hotel reservations. Staff rectified as best as possible.

Review 36:loud central air loud pipe noises from nextdoor showering we had a room next to a 'fast n furious' strip where there was music till 5am car standing infront of hotel with woofer playing all night matrasses kept mooving from the bed pilows were the worst i've ever slept on 5euros for a mini can of pringles if u have water with you , they charge you for their losses of the minibar way to much to write down never again.

Review 37:breakfast

Review 38:Hotel has a second modern building (not the castle that you see in the pictures) - something we overlooked at booking time, can be a drawback for some, however it is better designed for families and elder travelers (elevators, larger corridors etc). Breakfast room is a separate building, requires a walk outside in the morning. The door between our two adjacent rooms could not be unlocked (we stayed with children) - a big minus and lots of running there and back - if you are staying with little ones. Pillows are very uncomfortable... But I have to say, all these were minor things comparing to overall great stay.

Review 39:A very green, very quiet and very private property with multiple dependances, large territory with beautiful gardens and historic buildings- a great addition to your hotel stay. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, pleasant breakfast room with the pool view, good choice of breakfast foods. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and new. Many rooms have balconies with chairs - great way to enjoy night sky and look at the gardens in the morning. Great stay!

Review 40:Surprisingly there is no elevator. If needed staff will move your baggage and of course the target audience will not carry their own luggage in any case but they still will have to climb the stairs between meals. This could be a dealbreaker.

Review 41:From the photos the rooms follow different designs; mine had a neo-barock style and the use of colour and material was done very accurate. Everything was carefully maintained and has a luxurious feel to it. It felt like being in a Agatha Christie movie. Location is at distance from the noisy crowds and is very relaxing. Very professional and attentive staff. Breakfast buffet was limited, not many guests there, but everything can be ordered if needed. Nice to see such attention to heritage and service still exists.

Review 42:Gym could have been a bit cleaner with a few more cardio machines

Review 43:-- Comfortable king bed not split into two twin beds -- Great Wifi -- Good breakfast which included eggs and bacon rather than the traditional Italian carb fest -- Great view -- Working gym -- Good restaurant -- Nice view -- Historic atmosphere

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:Everything. This is a very sophisticated hotel, from the old school of excellent service and atmosphere. Fantastic breakfast in the pool house. Wonderful dinner. Free parking.

Review 46:Breakfast was a little limited. Had to pay extra for pancakes etc.

Review 47:The ambiance was very relaxed. Beautiful period features and grounds. Walking distance from the beach. Very helpful staff. Very relaxed dining in the evening. Great pool area and facilities.

Review 48:We had a major issue with warm water pressure which was really frustrating - not only during peak hours (that is before breakfast and dinner). The TV in our room was not working, we had to ask three times for it to be fixed only to be told that the issue could not be fixed during our stay there.

Review 49:We really liked the fact that our room was immaculately clean.

Review 50:The Hotel has no own access to the beach. You have to visit one of the numerous bagnos if you want to have a parasol and sun loungers, some of them are really expensive (like 65 Euros a day...). The cheapest bagno we found charged 15 Euros a day.

Review 51:Nice and helpful staff Clean, comfortable and beautiful room Beautiful silent pool with really comfortable sun loungers Excellent breakfest and dinner

Review 52:The only thing we did not expect, was that the pictures made it look like it is on the beach. It is not.

Review 53:Everything was amazing, breakfast was fabulous.

Review 54:Nothing worth mentioning

Review 55:This is a great hotel for those who like old fashioned hotels, full of history and antique furniture. Loved the grounds, location, rooms, great staff. Unfortunately, we could not stay longer and use facilities in full! Thank you

Review 56:Wifi in one of the villa's where we stayed was poor. Bathroom was a bit dated.

Review 57:Friendly staff, nice breakfast and pool. Dinner in the hotel was good. Free parking. Fitness room present.

Review 58:My mattress was very uncomfortable, as it had multiple sites where the springs were coming through. Forgot to mention this to the management. I assume they might have changed the mattress had they known. Telephone ringer in room did not function. No complimentary beach towels. Had to be rented.

Review 59:The grounds were lovely. the breakfast was exhaustive and plentiful. staff were helpful and gracious. Proximity to the beach was excellent.

Review 60:2 weeks was not enought!

Review 61:Staff, location, restaurants, facilities! Incredible place, fantastic people! Not to forget - the lovely Luciano and his Ariston beach restaurant that will bring lots of flavour to your day!

Review 62:That I eventually had to leave this hamlet

Review 63:The beautifully kept grounds and pool area. My little room at the top of the tower. The quality of the food served at the pool area which was impressive

Review 64:The welcome at the reception when checking in, no explanation of the facilities. Some waiters clearly had no joy at all in their work.

Review 65:The location at the sea front, the rooms, the beds, bathroom, the parking, the garden and friendly gardener, the swimmingpool and friendly lifeguard, the fantastic old building with beautyfull rooms.

Review 66:There was nothing that we did not like about this accommodation.

Review 67:The room was excellent and conveniently located. We loved the decor and the history of the Villa The gardens were very well cared for and the pool area and seating in the gardens were excellent. Staff were very helpful at all times.

Review 68:Overpriced food and drinks. It should not be allowed to make reservation of the few sunbeds by the pool. The price of using the beach incl sunbeds of 55€ a day for 2 persons, is too high compared with other private beaches.

Review 69:Beautiful villa and garden.

Review 70:wi-fi signal bad to non existent in some buildings

Review 71:Spacious rooms (comfort rooms), well located, beautiful property, nice swimming pool (perfect to spend a relaxing day), friendly and helpful staff, good pool restaurant, good breakfast.

Review 72:Breakfast could contain a little more variety

Review 73:Great overall experience at this luxurious hotel

Review 74:All good. Couldn't find a fault. All positive. Breakfast good. Relaxing hotel. Staff very good.

Review 75:It has potential to be 6* Hotel...now it's only 4.

Review 76:Realy beatiful place!

Review 77:There has a very beautiful beach .That an unexpected harvest !

Review 78:If you do not intend to stay by the beach, the locatioin is a bit offside. Extra charge for entering the beach

Review 79:Great value for money

Review 80:Excellent restaurant

Review 81:Great location, short walk or bike ride to restaurants / shops

Review 82:Everything was great

Review 83:The room was quiet small and the plaster was falling off the walls.

Review 84:The staff were super. Great pool.

Review 85:I did not book these extra rooms that Booking.com said I had! Why wouldI book 2 extra double rooms for single occupancy - I did not do it

Review 86:All excellent!

Review 87:Poolside restaurant should be available in the evenings earlier in the season

Review 88:Everything except restaurant choice

Review 89:An excellent pool, lovely breakfast, friendly staff and first class service.

Review 90:The staff were so polite, friendly and accommodating. They did everything possible to make my stay as pleasant as possible.

Review 91:Every member of staff were so attentive and helpful. They all had a smile and greeted you warmly.

Review 92:Township average maybe because not high season yet.

Review 93:Grounds and villa were excellent

Review 94:Location very relaxing imbedded in a nice natural environment.

Review 95:The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful grounds. Loved the use of the bikes.

Review 96:Breakfast was poor. Hardly anything to eat.

Review 97:The architecture and the furniture is superb.

Review 98:The grounds and surroundings of this hotel are fantastic.

Review 99:everything was perfect

Review 100:privacy in luxury surroundings

Review 101:Garden Swimming pool Service Food

Review 102:not cheap so

Review 103:Pool, pool bar, brakefast and a excellent service

Review 104:Hairdryers in bedroom not efficient.

Review 105:Everything

Review 106:Beautyfull Lokation ! Nice People allways helpfull. WE come back a third time

Review 107:Dinner, restaurant above standard.

Review 108:Great staff, especially the swimming pool man and the Brazilian bartender in the pool bar, you are just great!! Room was very nice, swimming pool is perfect, free car parking, I strongly commend this hotel for everyone.

Review 109:- No access to the beach. A parasol with 2 chairs can be rented for 55 Euros a day - We expected a quiet hotel. It turned out to be a family hotel with a lot of screaming children

Review 110:- Location -> In the middle of a park - Bikes can be used for free - Nice, clean rooms

Review 111:Internet is terrible. However it's terrible is every hotel in this area.

Review 112:Nice hotel, great staff, large rooms. This hotel is a little far from restaurants but it's not a far walk. Would stay here again if the Internet was improved

Review 113:If your target Forte dei Marmi it is a bit far away.

Review 114:Fantastic place! Want to recomend for anyone who is visiting that area! Want to live like rich & influence? That is the place!!!

Review 115:n.a.

Review 116:Nice atmosphere - the buildings are beautifull as well as the 'park' on the property, great location along the beach. Friendly staff, free rental of bikes. Good breakfast. Nice pool.

Review 117:The rooms was really old fashioned and not comfortable. The springs came out of the bed and the bed even collapsed ones. In addition we had a leakage and nothing was done about it. The rooms are very noise and if your neighbour is going to the toilet it seems he is going to your toilet. Walls are extremely thin. We complaint about the above however nothing was done about it. They didn't even apologise for it.

Review 118:The facilities were good and the surrounding is beautiful. The hotel is in front of the sea however a 10 min walk to the main boulevard.

Review 119:Nothing comes through my mind.

Review 120:A young woman met us when we arrived. She was excellent. One of the more experienced women, she is just lovely, which we met in the reception several times and she makes the stay wonderful. Its the fourth time we have been at the hotel. Nice breakfast and good service at the swimming pool. Lovely room.

Review 121:The toilet seat was loose and worn out and could not be repaired. Wecomplained from day one and every day but it was not repaired. Theytried to tighten it without results. It was finally exchanged on the 6thday of our stay (!) with a seat with the wrong size so the problemcontinued. We asked for a reduction because of this malfunction. Themanager remained invisible and refused our repeated request to speak tohim. Upon checking out the receptionist said: "For us everythingwas ok", meaning there was never a problem! After giving them afinal chance to compensate for the inconvenience we had because of thissilly story(I should probably mention here that none of us is overweightso it wasn't as if we had damaged or kept damaging the seat!) by notcharging us for the two lunch meals we had had at the pool, thereceptionist called up the manager who by the way was in the house thiswhole time. He offered to give us a 15 percent discount of the nextstay! We did not tear up the voucher in front of the hotel desk, afterall we consider ourselves civilized people. That is more than can besaid of the manager of this place. There is no way we can recommend thisotherwise wonderful place. That is a pity. Prof. Rosa Baldursdottir andProf. Peter Arnesen, Salzburg

Review 122:The grounds, the pool, service staff at breakfast and the pool bar. Theroom we had in the Fattoria was quiet.

Review 123:The grounds and building are beautiful. This is an oasis along the busy strip of Lido. Pool are had comfortable loungers and is very well maintained. Would recommend this hotel.

Review 124:Not the hotel's fault but the location is hard to find and new roadsin Italy prevented the gps from working. Beyond this particular hotel, the Lido de Camaiore is unremarkable. I recommend the hotel&setting, not the rest of the town

Review 125:Friendly staff, historic villa, quiet, wonderful breakfasts. Our roomwas 235 euros/night and considering what one must pay for the samequality elsewhere in high summer, a bargain. We were there to attend thePuccini Festival..

Review 126:We didn't like our suite we paid for suite and extra bed but the couch was the extra bed so we can't walk in the room. As they put together in the day and out in the evening it would be nice maybe. The breakfast, was very very poor no fresh juice no fresh bread three salts for al the tables you have to asked every morning. We had no flat screen in the room, no wifi the router didn't work. We want to watch the projector with our computer we asked in the morning in the evening they sent the man that washes the dishes and he said i don't now.

Review 127:We like the location.
