Reviews for Rockville House B&B
Review 1:The value, the welcome, tea in front of the fire, plenty of room for the two of us. Kettle in the room. Also the in suite, breakfast, scrambled eggs as I like the.
Review 2:Nothing really, maybe could be updated a little bit, but still in keeping the character which is the catalyst of this great premises
Review 3:The owner Patrick is second to none the rooms were excellent the breakfast was awesome and the welcome and hospitality on arrival was fantastic a superb b&b that my 93 year old mother will never forget
Review 4:Our host was extremely accommodating and helpful, and was so much fun to talk with and joke with. We also enjoyed the proximity to the Rock of Cashel as well as to the town area.
Review 5:It was a bit of a challenge opening the front gate to get to the front door - not sure what I would have done if someone had not happened along.
Review 6:Distance to Rock of Cashel a five minute walk - you could see Cashel standing in front of the house. Distance to the shops on the Main Street was a 10 min walk. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast in the morning.
Review 7:There was no tea of coffe in the room
Review 8:Almoust everything was perfect, verry funny host. Old nice house with specyfic atmosfere, close to town centre and Rock of Cashel. And again host was verry nice:)
Review 9:Everything was excellent.
Review 10:Patrick was friendly and the rooms were excellent. We could walk to the Rock and into town. There was parking at the House. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed the night of 4 Oct 2015.
Review 11:owner a little quirky, with an interesting sense of humor. Had difficulty in finding him to ask any questions. All in all good stay
Review 12:Very close to the Rock of Cashel, town is charming, easy to walk around. Cozy room, very clean. Breakfast was good. Only stayed for 1 night, but excellent value.
Review 13:Our room had not been completely made ready for us and the bathroom hot tap did not work, although the shower did. Our host responded helpfully but could not fix the tap.
Review 14:Good location and parking, cheerful host, tasty breakfast.
Review 15:nothing really, the carpet in the room could have done with a hoover (massive dead spider staring back at me) and I can see how the landlord's style of banter might not be for everyone, but it was one of the most enjoyable stays of our entire trip.
Review 16:Superb location with views of the Rock and 5 mins walk to the high street, massive room, great breakfast, secure parking, atmospheric dining room, most memorable landlord of our trip who is somewhat eccentric but I get the impression knows how to "choose his audience"
Review 17:Decor in the room is a bit dated, but room was large and very comfortable!
Review 18:Rockville House has an excellent location in Cashel, short walk to the Rock of Cashel (you have views of it right from the front door), and also short walk to main street for pubs and restaurants. Patrick is a super friendly guy and gave us a warm welcome - he cooks a great breakfast also.
Review 19:Everything was good. The sink in our bathroom was very low for a couple of tall American travelers though.
Review 20:Patrick was the best! He has a wonderful sense of humor and takes amazing care of his guests. He allowed us to leave our car in his parking lot while visiting the Rock of Cashel.
Review 21:The room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious but the company is what excelled. Pat the owner is brilliant. He made our stay. He is the perfect example of Irish humour and hospitality and we genuinely cannot recommend it enough. Aoife & Joe
Review 22:Great bed and breakfast! You can park your car and walk to the Rock of Cashel as well as to the nice restaurants in town. Breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay here again!
Review 23:Location was wonderful, staff, especially Peter with his dry sense of humor, was fun. Breakfast conversations with other guests were interesting. Free parking a plus.
Review 24:The B&B was hard to find since the GPS shows about 30 different "Cashels" dependent on which county or region it is in and the address on Booking did not show that.
Review 25:Great location and breakfast.
Review 26:Need to repair the broken chairs in the dining room. The TV didnt work where we stayed in the 'stables' and there was no wifi there
Review 27:Patrick, the owner, was very obliging and answered all queries, even coming to find us when we couldn't locate the property.
Review 28:Got robbed of my purse by 2 guys. While walking in town in afternoon.
Review 29:Close to rock of cashel and Patrick is very Irish, very friendly and the most helpful person we could meet. Lovely town. Police wonderful.
Review 30:The facility is barely passable in its decor and amenities. It is tired and worn...rooms are small and old; beds and pillows are uncomfortable.
Review 31:Patrick the host is animated, congenial and funny. The location is good and breakfast is fine, but the poorest of eight places w visited in Ireland.
Review 32:There wasn't nothing to dislike friendly staff great made to feel like part of the family couldn't ask for anything more thanks to pat his lovely mother Ana berny Maureen chloe many thanks
Review 33:The location is great--right by the Rock of Cashel. We rented a room for my wife and me and another for our three grown children who were with us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had at a B&B.
Review 34:Location was close to Cahel Rock which allowed us to start our vist at 9am (before the Tour Buses arrive and therefore get the best Photo opportunities )
Review 35:Not that I didn't like it - but it's a cash only place. I didn't see that when I booked. The proprietor was fine with us leaving to go to an ATM and withdraw cash. Just wish that had been more clear to save time and embarrasment.
Review 36:Location was awesome. Good for a quick stopover. Very efficient and streamlined. We didn't get instructions for WiFi and TV - but we were there about 12-14 hours from check-in to check out.
Review 37:If you don't like antiques, taxidermy and personable hosts, stay elsewhere.
Review 38:Patrick is lively and full of personality--like your new "Irish brother"! The house's style is quirky and fun. And the location is fabulous for exploring.
Review 39:The room was tiny! I kept bumping into things. The sheets were threadbare and looked like they needed a proper wash. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment.
Review 40:It was relatively cheap and very close to the Rock.
Review 41:even if we missed breakfast time (went out in the evening for some drinks ;-) a really nice breakfast was served to us. Patrick has a really good sense of humour (very charming) and you can reach the rock of cashel just by a small walk.
Review 42:Good shower but wash basin very small.
Review 43:Excellent location, can walk to the Rock and into town for dinner. Shared tables at breakfast, which some people would not like!
Review 44:Just a small negative. We arrived an hour late and did not realize we were to call first. It was mentioned on our confirmation, but we didn't notice it, especially after booking several places. The owner immediately chided us, though we apologized. He did become friendly after, but it was a bit uncomfortable at first and we thought he shouldn't have greeted us that way right at the start of our stay. He could have mentioned it after giving us a welcome, as we were paying guests and did not mean to be inconsiderate.
Review 45:A nice amount of choices for breakfast and served hot.
Review 46:Our host, Patrick, was charming and he Entertained us with incredible stories all the while making sure we were comfortable. He provided us with tea and cookies in the evening and a delicious breakfast before we left.
Review 47:The dining room is large, beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Excellent host. The B&B is in a good position to walk to most of the sites and facilities.
Review 48:Location is excellent for visiting Rock of Cashel. It was also a great jumping off point for day trips to other sites about an hour or so away. Patrick was wonderful and made us feel welcome with his great sense of humour. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 49:- Great friendly and helpful Host who displays a lot of the Irish whit. - The location is very close to the Rock of Cashel and the local restaurants.
Review 50:we had a lovely night stay here , Patrick the owner couldn't do enough for you , breakfast was lovely and Patrick was there too tend too all your needs ,
Review 51:Patrick Hays is a true Irishman--conversational, funny, and gracious. The breakfast was excellent and downtown Cashel is a two minute walk. Great value for the money.
Review 52:We weren't there longer.
Review 53:Most amazingly welcoming host, Padraig has a GREAT sense of humor, and was so nice. And you walk out the front door, and St. Dominicks Abbey is JUST to the left, and the Rock of Cashel is JUST to the right. And yet it is SO quiet there.. Next time we're in Cashel, I will DEFINITELY be staying there again.
Review 54:Nothing.
Review 55:Patrick was an excellent host. I have only good things to say about his hospitality and friendliness. I would highly recommend this B&B.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Friendly staff. Fire was going on arrival and for our entire stay. Breakfast ready each morning, We were offered cooked but were More than happy with just the continental. Would recommend to all friends and family
Review 58:The ONLY complaint would be, the owner was not around when I checked out so I could thank him.
Review 59:Enjoyed the feeling that I was "at home" while sitting in front of the fire and face-timing with family back in the States. The location of this B&B is awesome. You can walk everywhere!
Review 60:window into the hall - lights disturbed my sleep more than once room was not serviced during my stay breakfast was limited and poorly cooked
Review 61:location wi-fi parlor - morning fire
Review 62:The bathrooms were quite small and parking was limited.
Review 63:So very close to the Rock of Cashel and several good restaurants within walking distance. A true B&B...cosy and a very filling breakfast.
Review 64:Amazing breakfast and the room was very comfortable. Had to ask owner how to turn on the shower, he was happy to show us and it worked really well with instructions. Owner is really funny and helpful.
Review 65:The tea/coffee center was a bit grungy.
Review 66:Our room faced the Rock and it was just a short walk away. An even shorter walk in the other direction took you to town center. Our host was very helpful with a wry sense of humor
Review 67:Can't complain about anything with the B&B. Getting a bite to eat in Cashel on Wednesday night can be a bit of an adventure though.
Review 68:Great location right under the rock. Cozy room, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The owner, Patrick, is a true Irish character to be enjoyed.
Review 69:The B&B was very close to the town centre and the Rock of Cashel. The room was comfortable and the breakfast very good. We had a good stay.
Review 70:We stayed at the Rockville B and B in September with our 2 children, my mom and aunt. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, there was plenty of hot water for the shower, and the wifi worked great. Patrick is an excellent host. We run a lodge back in the States, and know how demanding it can be. He made us all feel welcome, and his humor and kindness shines through. The B and B is in a great location in Cashel; within walking distance to all the charming shops and restaurants in town as well as the Rock of Cashel. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for any travelers, whether you're traveling alone, with your spouse, friends, or family. Thanks for the hospitality, Patrick. Look us up if you ever decide to subject yourself to the torment of visiting the US! Fondly, The Nieman family and those 2 Broads
Review 71:Patrick is a very nice host and we enjoyed our visit. Our room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was tasty. No complaints from us. We would return here again next time we visit the area.

Review 76:It was a nice large comfortable B&B at a very reasonable price.
Review 77:excellent location 5 min walk to shops, pubs etc. less than that to rock of cashel. very quiet at night, makes a a good sleep. patrick the host is a very funny man who is eager to help and answer questions. the breakfast was awesome. easy to find and has places to park your car.
Review 78:That we were only there for one night.
Review 79:easy walking distance to city historical attractions and city centre. lovely b and b ambience. Host with a terrific dry sense of humour. He was very helpful with information and also carting of our luggage.Food was great.

Review 82:I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
Review 83:This location is perfect for visiting the Rock of Cashel. It was easy to find and close to restaurants and shops. The host, Patrick, was very funny....he met us right away and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful, traditional Irish breakfast and very yummy!

Review 86:We loved everything at the b+b. Especially the good humour and hospitality we received from Patrick, the tall man from Cashel...;-).... looking forward to getting back there soon....
Review 87:There wasn't anything we didn't like about this house. The host was very helpful and friendly. The en suite rooms had plenty of space for the four of us. The location to both the main part of town and the Rock of Cashel can't be beat. Thank you for a lovely stay and would love to return.
Review 88:Literally a block from the Rock of Cashel. Nice walking distance from the little main street. Wonderful place to have a stop over. Nice, friendly host.
Review 89:We didn't enjoy the delivery of breakfast the way the attendant wished to offer the meal. We were not asked our preferences. One had to wait for attendant to serve beverage, sometimes a long while when he attended other matters. His attitude was not patron friendly.
Review 90:We liked the above noted questions.
Review 91:Great host
Review 92:Pat (owner) lovely man, he dealt with all our needs, and nothing was to much for him. Will be booking again, see you soon Pat. x x x
