Hotel Mare is set in the old fishing village of Magazzini, and offers views of Elba Island's Portoferraio Bay. It features free Wi-Fi, a small private beach, and a garden with sea-view pool.
Provided with an LCD TV, all rooms at Mare Hotel are air conditioned and are decorated with pastel colours. Each one has a balcony overlooking the surrounding hills, the garden or the sea.

Review 1：The pillows aren't that comfy - rather hard! The swimming pool, whilst lovely is not suitable for young children so will not be bringing our grandchildren next year, but might come on our own!

Review 2：The location and view are superb, also the restaurant offers very good quality.

Review 3：Rooms, Hotel and facilities could benefit from renovation. There was nothing we were unhappy about, yet much more could be done with their location. We understand that means are necessary, but recommend the hotel to those that can live with a few downsides in a good atmosphere.

Review 4：The Mama and owner of the hotel is a delight and the spirit of the hotel. She is the one that made the difference and makes a client oversee a few deficiencies. Rooms are ok, waterfront location superb, view of the capital of Elba outstanding and the restaurant on ocean front had very kind staff, good food at reasonable price. Overall if the asking rate is fair the entire stay is worthwhile. The charm is their key asset.

Review 5：Air conditioning did not work. The weather was not hot but the room could have used a fan to clear a bit of humidity.

Review 7：We understand that it's a bit out of the way if you don't have your own transport. But we loved coming back to the calm after a day out. And scooter hire is cheap and they can organise it for you.

Review 8：Loved the calm location and views. Great pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were originally only going to stay for 2 nights but ended up extending our stay to 5. They were also happy to help us out with moving our reservation over by one night (at no cost) as we couldn't get there as the trains went on strike the day we were supposed to travel.

Review 9：There's a sail club in connection to the hotel which have their lessons in the breakfast restaurant. It was way too much commotion for me in the morning. The bead at the buffet was very dry

Review 11：Pebbly beach, bottom full of water plant,disgusting. Distance to the next ( apart from hotel restaurant) and only one restaurant or shop min. of 15-29min walking. Distance to Portoferrairo where you find all atractions is around 8km away. With a car no problem.

Review 12：Good enough breakfast for Italian standards. Free rental of bikes. Beach beds with aditional attachement for shadow over head, great for reading!

Review 13：Some carpets would help to soundproof rooms and corridors. Its not by any means a noisy hotel but the lack of carpets amplified even light footsteps in the corridor.

Review 14：We really liked this calm and secluded little spot of Elba. Nice breakfast and good food at the restaurant. 3 min walk from the hotel you will find the beach area reserved for the guests of the hotel with great sunchairs.

Review 24：The location is excellent, right on the sea but easy access for walking in the hills yet not too far from the port. It is West facing so the sunsets were amazing. It is also in easy reach of Porto Azzuro which is a pretty, if a little touristy, port.

Review 25：It is about 15kms from the main towns, that is 30 mins drive along winding roads. That means if you eat somewhere else you can't drink and drive on Italian roads and Elba is a driver,s nightmare. The restaurant serves wholesome food but charges Michelin star prices for average "home" cooking. Grilled fish costs (local)about double what other better restaurants charge. Breakfast at present is good, varied but lacks fresh coffee and fresh juice. Machine driven coffee.Pool is freezing on account of gorgeaous trees and North West face

Review 26：Beautiful location with a great view of Portoferraio surrounded by lush vegetation. Well designed bedrooms, modern spacious bathroom, very clean, helpful staff, local sailing school and boats for hire. Located right next to the free private beach with a great view from the restaurant, fine swimming pool. Has minibus for port transfers. Good wifi. A popular spot but not at all overcrowded, sense of space. Though it is good thirty minutes drive from the nearest towns it allows escape from the crowds

Review 31：A very good hotel near the sea in Porto Ferraio in a relaxing place out of the center and quite near. The layout of the hotel is excellent for a relaxing summer holiday by the seaside. Very well organized terrace and breakfast hall with dedicated staff and cleanliness prevails.

Review 32：We initially booked 2 nights and then added an additional night thinkingwe would be charged the same rate. We were charged 25% more for theadditional night. Also you do need your own means of transportation.
