Review 1：We went for dinner, which was supposed to occur between 7:30 and 9:30 pm. Salads and sweets were supposed to be buffet, however when we arrived at 8:30pm, most of it was gone and there were no plans to bring more. We were offered a bottle of wine as an excuse for the inconvenience, but that was the last time we stayed for lunch or dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Review 6：I liked that there was more than enough to do at the hotel; swimming, tennis, beach, ping pong, or just relaxing around the pool. We did not need to leave if we didn't want to. Personally, I liked no wifi in the hotel room. Reception in the hotel lobby and next to the swimming pool was good.

Review 7：the room was outdated with problems with TV, wifi and in the bathroom. Bad impression for a 4-star hotel. Many people stayed in the lobby to use the wifi as it was not working in the rooms. The private beach was quite small and not special at all. The hotel was far from everything and not easy to access with a bad public transportation.

Review 10：Lovely place. Always loungers available. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the food - particularly the anti-pasta buffet for the evening meal. Sea is beautifully clear when there's an offshore wind and a lovely view from the small private beach across to Portoferraio. Had rooms in the annex on the ground floor with a shaded terrace. Quiet and peaceful. Great base for exploring Elba (we had a car). Took the snorkelling trip with the dive school which was excellent.

Review 11：The decor was a bit faded & had been patched up. There was a slight smell of dampness in the bar area but the only thing that detracted from our enjoyment was that the air-con in our room produced a very unpleasant smell & this was never resolved properly. Some of the staff on reception weren't friendly or welcoming.

Review 12：The hotel was set in lovely gardens with a lovely pool & direct access to the beach. The food was wonderful & fantastic value for money. The waiting staff were outstanding - very friendly & very attentive & looked after us very well. Our chambermaid was lovely & very helpful.

Review 13：No bad experience but wifi connection is erratic and you definitely need a car as the bus service is poor, the hotel is five miles from Porteferraio and there isn't much else around.

Unfortnately there is no option of quiet room, as from one side there is a generator and a construction. Every morning at breakfast the staff was very friendly to the other guests. We, a gay (male) couple were overlooked and had to ask for coffee.

Review 29：The decor is very dated - 70s era- especially in common areas. Our bathroom was bright pink and the shower was tiny. The room had no air con or fan so can be extremely hot at night in summer and could not open our window at night due to Mosquitos. Elba has some of the most stunning beaches Ive experienced but the small beach in front of the hotel is the worst place I have seen on Elba..a real shame. Seaweed, terrible sand and really average water. Definitely travel to other beaches as they are spectacular and this hotel can make a good base for visiting different areas.

Review 30：We stayed in room 124 for 5nights. The room is in the ground floor and is one of the few rooms without a balcony or terrace. However,it looked out onto the garden and quite private which was nice. The room was spacious with plenty of cupboard space. We travelled to different beaches each day so spent little time in the hotel during the day and did not eat dinner there as there were lots of great different options close by. Salt water pool, tennis courts and extensive gardens are all lovely. Staff are fantastic. If you don't mind old decor this hotel is great value and a great base for exploring Elba which really is a little piece of paradise.

Review 31：The waterpressure was not good, the room was not very clean. Ants everywhere. The Wifi was not working and the man at the reception was not interested in fixing it. This hotel is not worth the 4 stars.

Review 51：There is a soundproofing issue with the rooms and the other guests were a large tour operator group who were both incredibly noisy and showed no regard whatsoever to the fact that thre might be other guests in the Hotel. The other issue that we had was the hotel hot water which was either non existent or a dribble, they really need to sort this out.

Review 53：I did not have a warm shower once during my stay there. I had two cold showers between 8 and 9 pm, but on the morning I checked out and complained to the manager about the cold showers, I checked again and the water was much warmer (I would probably still shower without turning the cold water on, which means the water was not hot like in most hotels). In the end, the manager gave me a 10 euro discount from the room price, but frankly that was hardly enough. I stay in a hotel mainly for a clean room and hot shower. I should have gotten up to a 25% discount. So, I don't think I got a good value from this hotel.

Review 54：Hotel Fabricia is a very charming hotel on the coastline just west of Portoferraio. We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel, which included a nice and clean room, a continental breakfast, and good service by the staff.

Review 56：The place is very nice and well maintained. Although a bit older everything works, is clean. The pool is very nice and you have direct access to the beach. Showers are present for people that do not like salt or sand.... Breakfast was good and nicely served outside with sufficient places in the shade. Could improve by bringing some variety in the food that was served during the days. Staff was very kind and helpfull.

Review 57：There needs to be some alternative to the hotel buffet dinner for guestslike me who did not have a car. A big buffet is dated. I would havepreferred lighter fare, either an informal grill perhaps poolside or inthe bar. ATrattoria with pizza would be attractive to families and keepthe dinner business at the hotel. The hotel management could learn a lotfrom visiting the restaurant at Hotel Mare next door. The place waspacked for dinner and they attracted diners from other hotels. Twoservers handled the entire dining room. Might be useful for hotelmanagement of Fabricia to have dinner there.Beach needs to be cleaned up. Lifeguard or outside activities staff were not available and I wanted to use kayak but could not locate life jacket. Saw a staff member once in two days. If you go directly to beach as I did, I was not aware of bar service by the pool. Need to have a sign on the beach or better yet have a server take orders from those on the beach and poolside. ( revenue) Most American tourists expect to buy lunch and drinks on the beach. This is part of the updating I suggest. Also there was no literature that told about the hotel's services i.e., location of breakfast and dinner service, policy about recreation activities, location of pool and beach. The hotel is missing out on many marketing/sales opportunities.Agnes does a great job of covering guest needs on the evening shift. Chane the name of the second person on the day shift to concierge and s/he could inform guests af available daytime activities. I initially planned to stay an additional day, but left after two days because I was unable to rent a scooter (my own fault for not reserving earlier ......again a concierge could have advised me to make reservation earlier or even offered to make reservation)Perhaps the hotel has already looked at these things and for whatever reason are not updating their service. I must say the hotel room cost was very attractive.

Review 58：The setting was stupendous. The breakfast service waslovely.....outdoors and a good selection of breakfast offerings.thestaff was very attentive. I arrived rather late for breakfast both daysand was served nicely with no rush.The beach and the water taxi service was great. Clear instructions about picking up the water taxi upon my arrival would have helped me. Once. On the water it was a wonderful way to be delivered to the hotel.
