Reviews for Baileys Hotel Cashel

Review 1:When we got to the hotel around 10:30 at night the front desk told me that they were about to go home and after we parked the car they had locked the front door; it was not a warm welcome.

Review 2:The location with free parking provided and nice rooms made for a good place to stay for the night before seeing the Rock of Cashel, which was an easy walk.

Review 3:The room I had was possibly usable as an adjoining room so noise from occupant in next room very audible.

Review 4:Location was excellent for the purpose of my visit.

Review 5:no tea or coffee facilities in the room. View from room absolutely dreadful dilapilated apartments, but did take into consideration we were in a town centre

Review 6:the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and dinner in the bar was lovely

Review 7:The local bar bar next to this hotel was extremely noisey on a saturday night with music blaring out which could be heard throughout the hotel. Music was supposed to finish at 0030, however this carried on until 0115 when the Guards were called to stop the noise

Review 8:The unfortunate view from our room.

Review 9:The excellent location and the warm and friendly staff. My husband was not very well and they could not have been more helpful.

Review 10:We could hear the people next door cough, talk and even bathroom sounds! We used earplugs to get some rest, but I admit I was surprised because everything else was nice.

Review 11:Really clean, relatively updated, but catering to a mature traveler vibe. Most powerful rain shower I have ever seen. Restaurant/pub was great-good food, obviously a local favorite.

Review 12:Rooms are very warm and i couldnt open a window. Also was told at haf 3 they wudnt be able to sit two of us in reatuarant at haf 6 and i asked another lady and there was no bother. The restaurant wasnt even busy until 8ish

Review 13:The hotel is an older building but was clean.

Review 14:Great location as it is located on the main street. Excellent restaurant and pub in the hotel. The staff were very helpful.

Review 15:Reception was warm and helpful,, brought coffee to our rooms. Air conditioning, parking underground very short distance away. Great breakfast. Pleasant stay

Review 16:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 17:Easily the best stay during our trip. Excellent accommodations. Great on site restaurant. In town. Parking. Friendly staff. A stranger even stopped to offer suggestions for restaurants nearby.

Review 18:Nothing worth mentioning really.

Review 19:The hotel was in the main street and easy to find. The reception staff were great and very friendly. The room was large, airy with space to move around and place luggage. The bed was king sized and comfortable. Bathroom was a good size with the shower in the tub but the toiletries were minimal. No tea and coffee in the room but it came within minutes of asking and free of charge. We ate in the Restaurant 42 which was full but very pleasant with good vibes. The service was good but the food a little bland for my taste as I live in Asia. The Irish breakfast was good but the overall selection was limited but ok. Secure underground parking was less than 50 metres away but there was a tight turn once inside which required some maneuvering especially with a large car. Overall a great stay and I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Review 20:Had a beautiful spacious/elegant room at the front last time we stayed this time we were in a much smaller/darker room to the rear or side of hotel. Big difference in the two rooms for the same price.

Review 21:Great location central with good parking facilities. Very clean & comfortable.

Review 22:Rooms at front can be noisy at weekends

Review 23:Very clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff Superb restaurant and best food with very reasonable prices and plenty of choice

Review 24:It was all great...if you are at the back of the hotel though keep your windows shut because cooking and cigarette smoke waft up into your room! The staff thought we had been smoking in the room ( which of course is banned! )...

Review 25:Great location. ..easy parking. ..really lovely staff . Beautiful room...can't fault our stay at all...we were in Cashel to bring my mum's ashes back to her home town from Australia. ..the staff were truly wonderful. ..

Review 26:A very pleasant receptionist who was also very helpful regarding how best to enjoy our stay in Cashel. Free entry to the historic site given to us. we enjoyed a nice meal out the front . The outdoor eating area could be vastly improved with a wall of green planting to block off the view across the road. Road works on the corner did not adversely affect our stay.

Review 27:I think residents should be guaranteed a table for dinner. We didn't book it at check in and when we tried later it was booked out and there are very few restauraunts in the town so if you are staying there book for dinner.

Review 28:Good value boutique style hotel only sorry we didn't have dinner there

Review 29:The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We ordered dessert in the evening, and it was brought up to our room promptly, and it was delicious and beautifully presented. The parking garage was easy to access and walk to and from the main hotel.

Review 30:Car Park was separate to the property

Review 31:Great location in town with easy access to restaurants/pubs and short walk to the Rock of Cashel and Abbey. Large room and friendly reception staff.

Review 32:Was a bit disappointed that breakfast was not included in our stay. I thought €15 pp was expensive. It should have been offered at a different rate for guests.

Review 33:The restaurant in the hotel was amazing, highly recommend. The hotel itself was cozy and quiet. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 34:Charming boutique hotel with cozy cellar bar. Best location in town and perfect overnight when travelling from Dublin to Kenmare. As for breakfast, my mother-in-law swears the Eggs Benedict is the best she has ever had -- and she is a well-traveled 78 tear old!

Review 35:No Cashel Blue cheese on the restaurant menu!

Review 36:The hotel decor was up to date and comfortable The staff were helpful and friendly The cellar bar and restaurant were popular with residents and non residents alike The library room was a comfortable and quiet room to read and have a drink Parking

Review 37:location was great and pub/restaurant was really good. The staff suggested we hire a fella named John Cash for a walking tour of the area, We took a two hour walk with him and he was amazing, He knows every thing there is to know about the history of the county, We were quite pleased with him.

Review 38:Everything was fantastic, especially breakfast and the serving staff. Location is perfect and parking is good too. Even when we had no hot water on a Sunday, it got attended to immediately.

Review 39:Perfect location, Cashel is a great little town, and the Rock of Cashel is a great museum and has an interesting story. Extremely good value at Bailey's Restaurant was good for both dinner and breakfast.

Review 40:No coffee facilities in room, no pot of coffee for breakfast only refills to small cups, no brown bread on buffet table , bathroom very cramped

Review 41:Pleasant staff dinner excellent.

Review 42:Nothing.

Review 43:Size, cleanliness and comfort of room (and the local scheme that allows for free entry to rock of cashel if you've stayed / spent locally).

Review 44:Baileys is a wonderful hotel in the enchanting town of Cashel. The staff are excellent, hotel is beautiful and breakfast is freshly cooked. This hotel is conviently situated and is suitable for couples and families

Review 45:Noise from next door!!! Very loud party goers that went on through the night!!! Had not stopped until we checked out at 8.30!! Staff don't appear to take constructive feedback very well at all.

Review 46:Location, beautiful building, decor

Review 47:The room was tastefully decorated, large, comfortable and spotless. The option to have freshly brewed coffee delivered to the room free of charge was a wonderful touch and the breakfast included in the room rate was delicious!

Review 48:No complaints at all.

Review 49:Since one of our group has difficulty with stairs, the accessible entrance and elevator was a life saver. the room was great--quiet, comfortable beds, admirable climate control, and quite elegant. Room service was wonderful, and the hotel desk staff were uniformly friendly, kind, and helpful. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Review 50:There is a lot of noise from outside as the hotel is surrounded by other buildings and doesn't have double glazing, so couldn't open the windows even though the weather was very warm. Even with air con on all night duvet was too thick so kept waking for that and noise of bar. The bathroom needed a few things mending - handles on bath taps and toilet flush, tiles on floor and shower head needs to be relocated and temperature tap to be adjustable.

Review 51:Outstanding service Comfortable room Convenient location

Review 52:No tea/coffee facilities in room. Can't honestly see why?? Had to ring reception if we wanted any. Our "view" was like a back alley and other windows looked into ours which wasn't ideal. My breakfast omlette was a little over-cooked, slightly burnt actually. Even though hotel seemed extremely quiet we had a knock on our door to vacate the room and it was barely ten past 12! We were all packed and ready to go anyway but a few minutes grace wasn't asking too much was it?

Review 53:Staff were nice at check-in and bar and breakfast. Dinner in Cellar Bar was absolutely delicious. Nice size room but view was non existent.

Review 54:The room was spacious, well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The staff without exception were helpful and polite, no tea making facilities provided in the room but were available from room service at any time, freshly made tea in a pot with real milk!

Review 55:This hotel was just a short walk from everything you would want to visit in Cashel. The rock of Cashel and the Bru Boru cultural center are a must see!!! The hotel has wonderful 5 star food and is very acccomadating to a gluten free diet. The sevice and the staff could not be better.

Review 56:No bottled water provided in the room. Breakfast a bit limited in choice.

Review 57:The food in the Cellar Bar was very good and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and attentive.

Review 58:Noise of people leaving the nearby pubs in the early hours of the morning. The population of Cashel is around 4000, it felt like a lot of of them were leaving the pub between midnight and 3.30am.

Review 59:Eggs Benedict for breakfast Pleasant and helpful staff Clean facilities.

Review 60:There was a party going on close by till the early hours. No fridge in room. Not the best value for money but it was ok.

Review 61:Had a bath. Bed comfortable. Lovely outlook.

Review 62:The view from our room onto alley and apartments , not so great ,but we didn't spend a lot of time looking out

Review 63:Wonderfully friendly staff, especially the restaurant staff!! So helpful and attentive! Lovely little room . Cozy and comfy!

Review 64:So glad there was nothing to complain about!

Review 65:The hotel has been recently renovated. The rooms were spacious and spotless.Breakfast and food divine. The staff friendly and helpful....Would definitely stay there again or recommend it! A big thank you!

Review 66:room was cold with only a noisey fan heater for heat. night porter was kind enough to turn on the heating via computer at 3 am.. toilet bowl in 302 is very loose on the tiles. bay window is beautifully done but the view from it is like something from the poorer areas of calcutta. drinking and fighting on the balconies opposite.

Review 67:beautiful hotel with really good friendly staff.

Review 68:Room was a bit cold, needed to use additional heater. Would have liked facilities for making tea/coffee myself.

Review 69:Location, cleanliness atmosphere

Review 70:Bedroom was cold although separate heater provided Strong smell of food in the bar if not eating

Review 71:Staff very friendly Breakfast very good Bed comfortable Bar very welcoming

Review 72:Very poor lighting in bar to see menu-- Very little space to sit particularly Saturday evenings No adjoining access from car park to hotel, all locked up.

Review 73:Location, food, friendly atmosphere, car park

Review 74:none.

Review 75:The hotel is fantastic, the restaurant in the basement of this hotel the food is the best iv had in a long time,id two friends with me who also said the same, id diffently stay and eat there again, id highly recommended this hotel to any one, its a 100% :)

Review 76:Breakfast booked separately very expensive at €15.00 per person, with €4.00 supplement for room service, seems ridiculous. Coffee making facilities not provided in the bedrooms a little inconvenient.

Review 77:Staff were excellent and most accommodating, room lovely, cleaned to a high standard, warm and most comfortable.

Review 78:Only the lack of choice on where we sat in the restaurant.. other tables were available but as they were set up for fours it wasn't an option.. We thought this was harsh for a Tuesday night!

Review 79:We stayed for one night, the welcome was fantastic, large comfortable and spacious room, free tea/ coffee room service. We ate and drank in the restaurant, the food and service was excellent with only one small drawback.. When we were offered a table it was between two other tables in close proximity when there were other tables available! The breakfast was good.. We would definately stay here again on our next visit

Review 80:A bit noisy at weekend with late bar next door.

Review 81:Location, walking distance to rock of Cashel. Staff very friendly. Hotel very clean and well maintained. Internet great.

Review 82:While the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food very good, the service, both at dinner and breakfast was slow and lacking.

Review 83:What a great surprise! The exterior photos of the hotel do not do it justice at all. I had a large room in the older part of the hotel just above the lobby. It was HUGE and very well appointed. The entire hotel interior was just beautiful! However, the area out front needs a little sprucing up.

Review 84:Avoid room 104. Lights went out due to tripped switch at mid-night . Someone came to fix it but only got bathroom light restored. Had to get dressed, dry hair and get packed in almost dark room in the morning. Unacceptable for a four star. The shower leaked and there was a puddle on the bathroom floor which I dried with towel. There was evidence on the door and frame to suggest the problem has existed for a while. The room was sold as having tea/coffee making facilities which was unavailable . Receptionist was dismissive of my complaint and gave a paltry reduction of €10. Poor and not 4 star standard

Review 85:Food was very good and good value for money Staff serving pleasant Coffee very good and complimentary on demand which compensated for lack of tea making facilities.

Review 86:Car parking difficult to find(but its free). We didnt have breakfast as it seemed expensive

Review 87:Everything,lovely room with safe and dressing gowns, bar food excellent, central location

Review 88:I hated that the windows were nailed shut. When I arrived back to the room it was way too warm and I could've done with some fresh air. The bed was comfortable enough but when I'm staying in a hotel room alone I do love to sleep in the middle of the bed. That's not an option with your beds. I was also very surprised that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. It's the main reason I probably wouldn't return, especially as a woman travelling alone.

Review 89:Everything was perfect, it was a great base to go visiting our family and points of interest ie the rock of cashel and Thurles. Lovely little bar and food very tasty and great value for money. Great variety of shops close by

Review 90:What's not to like. Great location, the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The bedroom was immaculately clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfasts, evening restaurant menu very good, in fact I couldn't fault anything and I am an accommodation provider!

Review 91:Friendly and helpful staff. Emma,Sinead and Lisa greeted us everyday with a smile and solutions to all our inquiries. Late night hospitality provided by Matt as he tended to keep the facility clean and proper. A very involved owner,Dermot, was great company at the cellar bar proving that Baileys Hotel has all the attributes of a fine establishment. The parking garage was ultra convenient and the location was perfect for foot travel in the town and attractions. We loved our stay.

Review 92:There was nothing we did not like!

Review 93:Everything! Beautiful hotel and restaurant/pub...breakfasts and dinners were fantastic! Loved staying at Bailey's and will definitely return!

Review 94:Distubed night sleep with loud music from next door guest, but promptly dealt with by night porter. Poor sound proofing in rooms. Room dark, could not open windows. Room overlooked by adjacent flats, so kept blinds down.

Review 95:Good location, clean spacious room. High standard house keeping

Review 96:I liked everything. The location made everything convenient.

Review 97:The food was exceptionally good in the cafe located in the hotel. All staff were helpful and welcoming. My room was quiet and pleasant to be in.

Review 98:The highly class disabled room for my mother was amazing- and she felt that she was extremely well catered for and respected as an elderly person, with disabilities. The food is also awesome.... Bravo to all the staff and management

Review 99:Bed a little hard.

Review 100:Bailey's was wonderful. Our room was gorgeous, the staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the town. We spent our second night in Ireland in Cashel and were very much still getting our feet underneath us. The staff answered many questions. The breakfast was very good.

Review 101:Leaving to come home.

Review 102:Most relaxing atmosphere. Staff were helpful and professional. The complementary coffee / tea facility was much appreciated. In addition to the comfortable seating in the bar, librarary etc. the outside seating was an ideal spot for watching the world go by plus an opportunity for the smokers to indulge with a drink (or a coffee - free of course)

Review 103:Loved everything about Cashel----Bailey's was a bonus! Online pictures just don't do it justice. Staff was amazing, restaurant was great, rooms were updated with brand new bathrooms. Everything you need is within walking distance. The Rock of Cashel is 10 minutes away, if that. The bus is 2 minutes away. I didn't make the 20 minute bus trip to Cahir from Cashel because I was enjoying Cashel so much but have been told it's a must do.

Review 104:cant find fault with anything would stay again

Review 105:excellent food asked for tea on arrival and it arrived in room immediately..free great location car park underground 50 metres from hotel

Review 106:The Bedroom was dark, dull and dismal. Decorated in dismal browns. The en suite bathroom was antiquated and the loo seat broken

Review 107:Restaurant and Bar area were attractive and the food was good

Review 108:Nothing

Review 109:The rooms were very spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is a must and very tasty. Small town, can walk all over. Cashed Palace hotel was good for dinner.

Review 110:The room we had to the rear of the building didn't have a very pleasing outlook overlooked a building at the back. Not that bothered though as we only stayed a night there.

Review 111:We liked the location of Baileys hotel on the Main Street convenient walk to tour the Rock of Cashel, great big comfy bed, lovely evening meal in the restaurant and a sumptuous breakfast, not the usual buffet style but cooked to order from a good menu selection

Review 112:non really liked this place

Review 113:Location great to walk to Rock of Cashel & downtown shops and eateries. Staff was friendly & helpful. Rooms had some character, were clean, quiet, comfortable, all needed amenities, & free parking. Restaurant and pub below were warm, very good atmosphere and food for dinner and breakfast. Really enjoyed. great value

Review 114:The room is too dark. Only 3 weak lamps and one of these was not working.

Review 115:The building is quaint and interesting. The staff was helpful. The location was good for walking to nearby pubs, restaurants and the Rock.

Review 116:bedroom window looked upon a wall aprox, 2ft away. no tea facilities, but del free as requested service, little car arival space to unload ,car park 400yard aprox away.o/all not a very nice stay

Review 117:restaurant was good, prices fair,

Review 118:Dropping off bags a bit of a challenge if arriving during busy traffic times.

Review 119:Close to everything. Walking distance og Rock of Cashel easy stroll through town. Dinner at hotel was good as was breakfast.

Review 120:Booking .com advertised 79 euro per room and confirmed booking only tosay the next day that the rate was 110 per room needless to say we werenot prepared to pay for their error we dealt directly with hotel andreached an amicable solution zero out of 10 for booking , com as we werenot the only people to have the same experience that evening

Review 121:Everything

Review 122:I like everything about the hotel the location was great the hotel is very clean and the people who work there are wonderful. Rhank you for a great stay!

Review 123:We were told our room was a nice quiet room at the back of the hotel. Unfortunately it was anything but quiet. Our room was right beside a very noisy pub, the music and banter finished up at about 2am. After falling asleep I was later woken up at 3.10 am by the load noise of bottles being thrown into a large bin, again from the back of the pub next door. This all spoiled our experience. Lovely hotel otherwise

Review 124:Lovely clean hotel in the heart of the town, excellent food (had dinner there on both nights) and very friendly staff.

Review 125:I really liked everything about the Bailey

Review 126:It was a relaxing environment. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The made you feel welcome. The room was so nice and very comfortable.

Review 127:There was absolutely nothing to fault. At €110 B&b it was slightly more than we would normally pay but worth every penny

Review 128:Staff were very friendly. The food in the bar was fabulous and so was the service. Although it was extremely busy, the service still felt very personal. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, lovely decor. Free parking and right in the town of cashel

Review 129:Such a nice hotel. My husband and I traveled on our honeymoon and were upgraded to the penthouse which was absolutely incredible. The staff was great. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and those were great as well. We only wished we were staying more than 1 night!
