Review 1：From the first contact via email I got the impression that the hotel has a very special and personal quality. The house itself has a very nice traditional look from outside, the rooms themselves are very tastefully furbished and are "stylish" in the best way. Very nice and helpful staff at the reception desk, excellent breakfast.

Review 3：Hotel is in a great location...not overlooking the lake but in a little piazza just a street back from the lake front and right in the thick of it! It was perfect for our winter break! Beautiful shops, fabtastic restaurants, wonderful New Year fireworks! Highly recommend!

Review 6：Our room had the view of the court yard and at night it was incredibly loud. Even people having a normal conversation was enough to wake the two of us up. Everything echoed through the courtyard. 2 nights of awful sleep and the rooms air conditioning was impossible to figure out. Apart from that it was suitable for what we were looking for. The room was over priced but this is como. Our room also had a really strong odor that came across as cat urine. We think it was the cleaning chemicals as it was very strong in the bathroom. (Otherwise a cat with very strong ruined frequently visits that room).

Review 7：The hotel was in a great location. Very close to the Main Street and bars. Great view overlooking the courtyard and the reception staff were very helpful.

Review 13：Great location at a good price for Como Very helpful staff. We changed from a standard room in the back, quite small with a small window.To a superior room, very nice overlooking the square. With a small extra price, we found it very worth wile.

Review 14：We did not know the hotel was NOT accessible by car. We had to eventually park and walk 20 minutes with luggage to the hotel. Their website does not state this and provide instructions. We were later informed by the hotel staff that they have a parking lot just for their hotel. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. Room was clean and the bathroom spacious and modern. We had another reservation to stay there again 2 weeks later (18-19 October) but I called the hotel and cancelled because of the location of the hotel. They were somewhat rude and would not cancel my reservation and said I must go on Booking.com to cancel. I did not go to Booking.com therefore I believe we paid for that night. Overall a very bad experience.

Review 16：Not a BAD experience - the room was pretty spartan and small. The hotel seemed more like a youth hostel than a hotel. While we parked with many other cars on the plaza, desk staff told us we couldn't and had to park about a half-mile away in a garage they had a "deal" with. Not a great walk in the rain!

The lighting in our room was very poor - there was no central light and the main wall light was over the bunk bed. Only one charging point worked so we had to unplug a bed light. Wifi system was not very user friendly (you had to keep logging in again).

Review 22：Most of the staff was less than friendly and not very helpful - as if we were a pain in their ... I learned that we should have asked for a quiet or larger room in advance. The piazza has bars that stay open late and can be quite noisy.

Review 23：Location - wonderfully located on the large, always active and entertaining piazza! Convenient to the train stations and ferries up the lake. Everything is walking distance - including the funicolare to Brunate, a nice trip to the hillside above Como, offering expansive views of the lower lake. Nice promenade on the water. Altogether a perfect location.

Review 26：This hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from Como San Giovanni train station, which made it a perfect place to stay for the Italian Grand Prix, just a short train ride to Monza. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even upgraded our room. Lovely clean spacious room, breakfast very good.

Review 27：Almost no reception ..No one help in carrying your bags , no trolly for heavy luggage .. Bathroom smells urine i brought some detergent spray for odorscoming from the toilette seat but still ..the lady who cleans use the same towl for the seat and the sink which is not healthy at all .. Poor decoration .. I expect a little hotel atmosphere !!! I felt I'm in the 80's.

Review 29：The Albergo Firenze was friendly and welcoming, situated in a perfect place for getting to know Como. Staff was more than helpful, making dinner reservations for us and answering questions about things to do in the vicinity. Our room was smallish but comfortable. Breakfasts were lovely with a wide variety of choices from traditional hard rolls and cheese to cereal, scrambled eggs, etc. We would definitely stay there again, and also recommend Albergo Firenze to friends.

Review 30：It was a very hot day and Air conditioning didn't work properly. The room was too warm. We returned to the hotel at 9.30 pm and the front door was closed, we rang the bell for more than 20' before they opened it.

Review 31：We did not know that discounted parking is available at a particular car park. This information was not given on booking.com and has cost us 40 Euros for 28 h parking.

Review 33：The location of the hotel was perfect. In the middle of Como. We did travel by car and thus had to juggle parking a little but we managed and enjoyed the location none-the-less. In addition, the beds were firm and forgiving on our backs for all 4 members of our family. The staff members were fabulous and went out of their way to assist us in tracking one of our lost suitcases and also in answering any questions and requests.

Review 39：Charming hotel in the historic part of town. Rooms are clean and quiet, with (recently renovated?) modern bathrooms. A/C did a great job. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety and even homemade apple cake. All the staff were nice and accommodating, but Fabrizio is a gem! He helped us with our reservation and we loved his sense of humor.

Review 40：Pretty basic. Clean and modern, but you wouldnt want to hang out in the room for a long time, and you can't sit on the balcony to enjoy the view with a bottle of prosecco (which i was expecting to be able to do in our upgraded 'superior' room). A few pictures on the walls or even just a headboard for the beds would make it a bit more 'homely'.

Review 49：Our superior room had no electric sockets for charging phones/batteries etc. The only socket was in the bathroom next to the washbasin which in the UK would be illegal. Noise from bars and restaurants in the square continues well into the early hours so if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem. The mattresses were so hard they made our ribs and back ache. WIFi is deeply irritating and slow. Each time your phone goes to sleep you are logged out and need to go through a very tedious log-in which is very hit and miss. Shower – the walk-in shower allowed all the water to walk-out onto the floor. Furnishings are rather old and tired.
