Reviews for The Heritage Hotel Manila
Review 1:We contacted hotel to pick is up at airport. Our flight from Dumaguette was delayed about 45 minutes. The other hotel drivers told us that the Heritage driver had not come but that they tended to run a little late. We only had a 12 hour layover to catch our flight to Beijing and just wanted to shower and clean up. We waited at the new terminal for about two hours. We don't have cell phones that worked there. We finally gave up and paid 600 pesos to go to terminal one to catch our Beijing flight. We wound up sitting in the waiting area that has about 70 or so chairs but at least 3-5 thousand travelers checking in. Air China didn't open check in for our flight until after midnight. This waiting area had one restroom for everyone. The others are under construction. No food or water is available here. To get to the restaurants you had to be checked in! I am diabetic, have impaired vision and am legally deaf.. I had to take meds, get water and something to eat to prevent insulin shock. The only way to do this was go out thru security and then be screened standing in long lines. I actually took pictures as I didn't think anyone would believe such a miserable setup. I tried to explain to the security my problem but I am deaf due to combat injuries and could not read their lips. None of them signed. My wife realized I was getting agitated and shaky and pulled me away from the officers. After she explained my disability, they still made me leave and come back thru screening after I got some sugary drink and a snack. We wound up waiting in this area for over 8 hours. Two young men with rather obvious US Army Ranger high and tight hair cuts walked up to me and said that they thought I looked familiar and offered us chairs. They were sure I was the former commander of a unit based at Fort Lewis, Wa. I suspect these young men may have run a little interference for us as Air China rep was informed and we were processed first.
Review 2:Nothing.
Review 3:Additional charges is excluded on the price displayed on booking.com - expect to pay for City Tax, VAT & Service charges (total 22.8%) on top of the room rate! Read the fine print before booking. 1,000 pesos room security deposit is expected at check-in per room per night!! The refund/balance will be provided upon check out.
Review 4:Great location to Asia Mall & airport!! Concierge were very helpful & friendly. They will arrange a taxi for pick-up out the front, (taxi's are asked to charge by meter...however be prepared that taxi drivers will overcharge or ask for tips). The Beauty & Massage Centre (located in Basement) will accept Australian currency. $50 for 1 hour massage...very nice. We used the hotel travel centre to book a private day tour for Tagatay & Manila. Great day out & friendly driver (no need to spend extra for a tour guide). Optional boat ride to see the Valcano Crater at Tagatay....however be prepared to negotiate as the boat tour place will overcharge. I suggest waiting for another group to share the expense. The hotel room & view was great & the buffet breakfast was amasing! I would definitely stay again!
Review 5:We arrived around 2 pm and was told they only had single beds (I requested for 2 beds on both rooms I reserved months ago) and it was a smoking room. Both were clearly not acceptable and waited another hour and was told again the same thing. When I showed clear disapproval of the service, after a quick phone call, low and behold there were two rooms with two beds in a non-smoking floor. We were given our keys and the fellow said thank you, without pointing the way nor telling us how to retrieve our luggage that they stowed while waiting. I was pointed to a concierge to ask both, when there was no one really waiting behind me. Not impressed. Our rooms were sufficient enough for one night but I can see that upgrades are much needed to the place. Cracks in the tiles, shower head falling on my child's head, carpet stains. I love old charming places and this place has the potential to be that. They just need to fixing and cleaning stuff. TiP: If you know your pool is THAT slippery, then please put mats on there or don't even allow kids. Even adults were slipping here and there without running. It wasn't pleasant for both us and the attendant to constantly be policed with a little of a hop and a skip.
Review 6:We chose the place for its close proximity to the MOA and the airport (T3). Be warned though, when we arrived at the airport, there were no taxi going in and the line up was so long. Either arrange for the hotel to pick you up or be prepared to pay x5 for the fixed price taxis or wait a couple of hours. I appreciated that there was a shuttle to the mall and the pool was very much appreciated by the kids. The buffet breakfast had a huge selection but the P400+ price for my 9 year old was a bit steep. Attendant at the pool was very attentive (but almost too much :) and when one of the kids slipped, he was so kind to call the staff nurse to ensure she was okay.
Review 7:Location is important to me, this hotel is close to everything. My parents are both 90 yrs old getting in and out of a jeepney is not an options. The shuttle that the hotel provide is a plus thanks.
Review 8:I booked a non smoking room. Upon getting my key card and entering the room, there is a very strong tobacco smell coming from the next room. Since there are no other similar rooms with King size beds available, they bumped me up to a suite room at no charge.
Review 9:We almost missed our flight because 1 of the hotel staff/shuttle driver told us to go to terminal1,for us to fly with dragonair....when we reached T1,the security told us we must go to terminal 3!!!!!
Review 10:Location near terminal 3
Review 11:The restaurant is crowded and there are only few tables and chairs, so we just settle at the bar to have our breakfast...
Review 12:I like the room, very spacious.
Review 13:Front desk Staff was not knowledgeable with a few things and kept on asking concierge for help. Need more training esp with customer service. More English training
Review 14:Great location near Mall of Asia Nice outdoor pool
Review 15:The wifi is very slow and during holiday season its so crowded. Hotel lobby is small during holidays
Review 16:The best thing about heritage is the value for money and the location of hotel
Review 17:The rooms, swimming pool and the hotel itself is very outdated. The room smells like old cabinets that never been used for a long a time. There is also small cockroaches in our room. This is the first time that my family has stayed in a hotel that most of the time we were in a mall because we couldn't stand the smell. I had to spray perfume before we went out.
Review 18:The carpet of the roomis too old and already soiled maybe because its already old. There is no parking space and we need to ait for the valet to get our car.
Review 19:Location
Review 20:the queue time waiting to book in and book out was too long. Had an adjoining room and the neighbour's kids could clearly be heard.
Review 21:Free wi-fi in the room.
Review 22:door key did not work with elevator. Had to exchange it about 10 times. First room I was assigned had a Wi-Fi "dead zone" - had to change floor and room. Connection was strong, however, the speed is not good at all.
Review 23:1) Nothing special about the hotel, looks like a little bit better than a hostel, have seen better comfortable hostels in Europe. Money worth is very less. 2) Outdoor pool is small 3) Rooms looking old, facility seems old.
Review 24:Location, close to airport and Asia Mall
Review 25:The tub and toilet need some maintenance. The quality of the food need some improvement.
Review 26:Staff were very friendly. Location was near airport and traffic was manageable. Hotel was well decorated.
Review 27:Hotel is a bit outdated.
Review 28:Staff are really helpful and kind. Very close to the airport (15 - 20 min, depending on traffic). Also there is a shuttle to the mall, very convenient. Rooms are spacious and clean.
Review 29:Upon entry no warm welcome from the staff especially those frontliner. Even upon check out no seasons greetings.lack of staff to accomodate each guest!
Review 30:Very helpful and accomodating roomboy
Review 31:Staff attitude , I don't understand why most of the staff I encountered were not friendly, from front door , front desk and Resturant especially during my 1st days of my stay. I noticed a change of the attitude during the last few days before I left.
Review 32:The rate is reasonable , generally clean hotel
Review 33:The bathroom was not properly clean. The gigantic breakfast buffet looked attractive but the food was mostly tasteless and stale. The location of the hotel close to two very busy main roads is nothing less than ghastly, but on the positive side it is relatively close to the airport. The windows cannot be opened and one depends entirely on air/con.
Review 34:Very spacious room, walking distance to the Asia Mall with numerous dining facilities.
Review 35:Breakfast is NOT delicious. Bathroom doorknob not in good condition. Expensive room rate! Online booking rate and tax fee is not included in the booking.com price. I don't recommend this hotel at all.
Review 36:Near the activity venue
Review 37:Plumbing problems in many of the rooms, and also a cockroach or two
Review 38:We have stayed here many times, and continue to come back, as we have always been treated very well. On duty manager Noyil was wonderful in taking care of our needs and special requests
Review 39:Hotel looks like it was something special in its day, but looks like its been neglected. Rooms were tired, carpets not very clean. Its not a bad hotel, its just not what you would expect from 5 stars or the price. Breakfast was chaotic, with not enough tables for guests. Staff were slow to clean away plates.
Review 40:location very close to mall of asia. Comfortable bed and clean sheets.
Review 41:The junior suite room given to us had a half empty bottle and crumbs on the coffee table. It also smelled like pee or perhaps just a very strong musty odor. Our previous experiences with this hotel were so much better
Review 42:Buffet breakfast had a good selection
Review 43:Every staff member wanted a tip!! Just for telling me Marry Christmas or Good Morning. I had 1 luggage bag and 1 carry on bag, 2 staff members brought them to my room (It's a 1 man job) and both stood next to the door (Inside the room) and waited for a tip
Review 44:Location was good. Really quite at night. Very comfortable bed and pillow.
Review 45:No potter service upon arrival at hotel. Potter service is only available from the hotel lobby to room. Reception staffs, not friendly, duty managers not tactful on handling issues. Can consider a little arrogant. Rooms are run down. About time to upgrade. Very poor breakfast, almost the same variety everyday. Breakfast cost, very high, Child Peso 480++, Adult 850++, and if you are a not beef or pork eater, your choice of food is very limited for the price. Do not engage in any in-house services, as they will kill you with their exorbitant charges. I was billed for laundry (washing not dry cleaning) for Pesos 5,500 for 62 pieces (about 3 to 4kg) of clothing. The charges goes by pieces. I paid 70 pesos for an underware to be washed. Even 5 Star hotel rate is about 48 pesos per kg. I was slaughtered at Heritage.. There are plenty of new hotels in the vicinity for your monies worth. My personal opinion, please avoid this hotel unless you have no other choice.
Review 46:There are only fast food eateries near to Hotel. They do provide shuttle service to Mall of Asia, but limited to only 10 to 12 people per trip.
Review 47:Room wasn't always hovered and the coffee plates and cups in room could of done with a clean but apart from that..very good experience!! Worth the money!!
Review 48:I liked everything about the heritage
Review 49:Old furniture in the room, partly damaged. Cleanliness at 1st sight looked ok; however when you look at bit closer it was dirty. Not in a good neighbourhood - dirty, noisy, not recommended to go out on foot. Service in the restaurant was unfriendly. The prices of food and drinks too high. The price of a local beer in the Greenbelt of Makati is between 90 - 110 Pesos. In the hotel it was 190 Pesos! I will never return to this hotel and I can not recommend it at all.
Review 50:The only positive thing was the proximity to the airport.
Review 51:Didn't clean room one day and had to ask clean at 7pm. Breakfast is not worth paying extra for.
Review 52:Comfortable clean WiFi works well (which in the past used to be terrible until they put router in every room)
Review 53:We shared the room with cockroaches, in the bathroom as well as at the desk. Satellite out of coverage one of the evening therefore no TV. Bed is comfortable but I did not get the 2 extra pillow I requested and I get 1 large bed instead of two single beds initially booked. We could have made a fuzz but we're too tired after travelling 12 hours from Bicol.
Review 54:The buffet was very good, food selection is excellent and plenty to chose from. I'm disappointed however that I have to go in circle inside the restaurant to find a free or clean table for breakfast, Host is not much help just let guest in the restaurant wether there is free table or not.
Review 55:I was asked to make a security deposit and was promised to return when Icheck out. But unfortunately I never receive the $ 91.00 w/c wasremoved from my debit card.
Review 56:Almost of the staff are very helpful
Review 57:Everything actually, the clearance the staff the rooms almost everything is so bad
Review 58:Nothing at all , there is more than 100more option in Manila and this hotel is not one of them
Review 59:Old, dated hotel. Everythings really old (tiles, floor, bathroom, furnitures, restaurant, everything) needs urgent total renovation.
Review 60:Location, easy to find.
Review 61:Overcooked and clearly not freshly prepared expensive food. Room bathrooms that were outdated and hadn't been upgraded since hotel was built. Poorly fitting electrical sockets in the room Poor air con in bedroom
Review 62:The location was the best part of this hotel Good wifi
Review 63:the shower head fell on our head. Toilet flush is not so good, needs to redo a lot of times. slow wifi
Review 64:Location, nice view Left something in the bathroom and was able to reclaim it. spacious room
Review 65:Breakfast. The cook did not attey the grill but rather cook the eggs somewhere else then brought them out cold. The selection over the past year has gone down hill.
Review 66:Room service
Review 67:The rooms were a bit rustic, the bathrooms were not at its best as you can see the lavatories are already run down. It has all the needed amenities in the room but wish they make an effort to upgrade/upholster everything because you can really tell the hotel is a bit old.
Review 68:We were having an event in SMX Convention Center so the location was absolutely spot on.
Review 69:Got in late and left early the next morning - would love to have stayed longer!
Review 70:Great location near the airport. Very large, affordable, clean, luxurious room with a view. Helpful staff.
Review 71:I called the operator and ask re the temperature of aircon kasi parng d gumagana i asked which is coolest 15 or 30 she said 30 still ganun p din mainit ang room . I called sgain and ask for 1 staff from maintenance he told me mam it should be 15 the lowest is the coolest
Review 72:Gym, steam bath, pool
Review 73:Emergency stairs toward to the pool was a little dirty.
Review 74:I always use this hotel because it's very reliable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Review 75:Our first room - the door didn't close properly. There was a huge gap between the lock plate and the door frame. You could use a plastic card to swipe between the door and frame and gain unauthorized access to the room. The striker plate on the door was also unscrewed making the door lock not work. Bathtub would not drain and air conditioning was almost non existent despite being on max.We requested a room change as I felt my security and property was at risk.Room 2 - security bar on door was broken. Vent in bathroom, above the toilet, was falling down. Bathtub still did not drain properly. But at least this room fit the door frame and had air conditioning.Furnishings quality - the beds were not exactly comfortable similar to the beds one would find at a summer camp. If one person on the bed moved a bit it was like riding a bronco for the other person on the bed.Linen - the linen felt cheap. The towels were very rough and threadbare. Housekeeping would not finish rooms until evening 8pm as they were waiting for linen to wash.Food - we ate breakfast most mornings in the hotel the food was very poor. Salad, noodles, eggs, pancakes, fish were the normal staples. The food all tasted awful like the chefs had no care in the world. I got better food in the military chow halls than I did here. We also had room service. The food was stone cold the pizza was half cooked (cheese not even melted topping raw) the French fries were admittedly good.Check out - on checkout at 0400 the housekeeping manager went to our room while we were forced to wait (already running late to airport) to check our room. My son had dripped a small amount of chocolate milk on the sheets and the housekeeping manager demanded we pay 5000 pesos for the sheet we ruined. We told him it was chocolate milk and would come out. Note the drip was the size of a US quarter. The desk staff started talking in tagalog (not knowing my wife is fluent).
Review 76:Staff was friendly and attentive. Everyone spoke decent English.
Review 77:I was told by my Doctor not to travel. All other hotels and every airline refunded my deposit but this hotel took all the money and gave me nothing.
Review 78:very helpful staff until you asked them for anything.
Review 79:We had a bad experience when having our breakfast. We already started our breakfast when me and my friends stood up to get additional food when we came back our table was already occupied by other guest we ask the staff why our table was occupied they said they thought we were done eating.. We still have our drinks in the table and other foods..we're very disappointed because we were ask to wait until we get another available table.. The staff should not assume that when the guest stood up in the table they are done.. They should also pay attention if the guest went out in the dining room or they are still in the dining room getting foods..
Review 80:Location is near airport terminal 3
Review 81:Nothing
Review 82:All the staff were very good, nothing was to much trouble for them, Phillip the bar manager, went out of his way to make our third stay at the hotel something special. Many thanks to all the staff. Looking forward to our next stay.
Review 83:Breakfast was disaster always empty.Baked beans cold,Roasted potatoes cold.Even when I ask the staff about tea I been told that they have only Earl Grey Tea in an 5 star hotel. That's a joke.i went to the Gym afTerms 20 min I was kicked out of the gym reason because we close at 10 pm.He could tell me in advance.
Review 84:I didnt like the thought of having to go to the front desk to get a breakfast coupon everytime. why can't they just give me a coupon or some sort of pass upon check-in or better yet, just let the guest see the kaycard (it says there in the card :"this serves as an ID".) This hotel may not have exceeded my expectations but other than that. Its alright.
Review 85:so quiet despite the fact that Im facing the street.
Review 86:Facilities are a little older and will likely need future update, but I look forward when they do.
Review 87:Staff are friendly and very helpful. I have not been back to the Philippines in 30 years and they made the travel a lot easier....Thanks Heritage!
Review 88:The old, antique-feel furniture and fixtures in and outside the rooms. It even smells old in the lobby!
Review 89:I liked the location and plus they have a shuttle going to MOA which was my primary reason in booking in this hotel as well as it's like minutes away from the airport. Also, the breakfast is pretty decent.
Review 90:Selection of breads for breakfast was stale. Yesterday's recycled, sorry but poor effort Heritage
Review 91:Close to airport and Mall of Asia with free shuttle available. Good staff.
Review 92:On the second last night of our stay we decided to have the Buffet for dinner. Unfortunately the "fresh" oysters I had caused me to be very sick (vomiting, fever, LBM) for my last 2 days. I know it was the oysters as 3 of us from a party of 7 had the oysters and we all 3 were all sick. But I fear I was the worse affected....
Review 93:The room was a good size and clean and the staff were happy to change our room when we had issues with our first room. The location of Heritage is close to airport and shops
Review 94:its the door.I had to go down & have them change the card.it won't open.it happen 3x:(
Review 95:the location, & the room. Also the staff very helpful.
Review 96:Spacious cleaan rooms. Its an older hotel compared to the new ones in Manila & Makati, but this hotel is better because it has huge rooms and the staff are friendly & accomodating. Very honest personnel.I forgot a bag with the items I bought at MOA and I just missed it one day later. I remembered I had it with me at the restaurant & I went to look for it & I was able to retrieve it from the Housekeeping Dept. I rewarded the honest young waiter & thanked him.
Review 97:Bathroom lavatory sink clogged... Can hear guest voices from adjacent room... Key card always malfunction... Ants present in the room... Room scent upon check-in doesnt smell fresh... Front desk receptionist aren't so hospitable... Can not give you direct answer to your concern...
Review 98:The food are ok, resto crew and chefs are accommodating with good service... Bed size and pillows are comfortable... Cable channels have fair selections...
Review 99:The smokers rooms should be fitted with exhaust fans on the windows. The smoke stench stays on in the night, not so good. Also there should be some information placed in the room for room service apart from the "door breakfast" knob hanger.
Review 100:The friendliness of the staff and the ease of WiFi access.
Review 101:None ..
Review 102:The room was so clean & ready as expected .. It was so wide "Deluxe Double" ,, & the bathroom was huge compared to others .. Overall, Excellent choice for sure ..
Review 103:The free shuttle could have been very hour to and from the mall, but it wasn't really a big deal.
Review 104:The free wifi was very good, the breakfast buffet was very tasty with a lot of choice.
Review 105:My husband & I are not satisfied. We are having our breakfast about 10am then there was 2 staff keep telling us last call & making us hurry up.. Very expensive 1 mango juice cost 265 peso. Sml 150 peso. Buffet are not good & very expensive.
Review 106:My husband & I are not satisfied. Poor services..
Review 107:Hidden and unclear fees. Hidden fees was not shown on the advertisement.Hidden fees are half the marketed pricem its a shame to pull out a bigamount of money charged at check in. Misleading!wont go for booking ifknown. Very unfair and felt victimised.
Review 108:Facility
Review 109:Ask to have the bed sheet changed, they said yes but it has not been changed.
Review 110:Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Free shuttle to Mall of Asia.
Review 111:I like the overall tidiness of the toilet and bathroom only that there was no separate tubings to use for washing after you pass water and move bowel.
Review 112:very comfortable, spacious room and close to the airport and shopping mall.
Review 113:I didn't like the room I've assigned of, because of its toilet room, some leaking and the shower itself.
Review 114:I like the most and the top reason of all is the convenience of its location being on a corner lot on a major road that has easy access on transportation.
Review 115:It has been my sixth time staying at the hotel.. This time I was having my wedding in Manila. The hotel Manager was very accommodating and helpful. He upgraded our room to executive suite which was fatantastic. Micky the waiter is the best ! Very friendly and helpful...
Review 116:1. I needed to request the electric kettle changed as it is defective. 2. Restroom door knob not properly fixed. 3. Towel rack in the bath tub not properly fixed. 4. I needed to follow-up twice my request for an additional toiletries.
Review 117:accessibility, great location reasonably priced
Review 118:Why did Booking.com charged my Credit Card before I check in hotel ? Already stated late arrival due to flight time when booking and stated very clearly to settle by CASH upon check in....Disappointed with what was promised during booking with your company
Review 119:Stayed here before as convenient to move around if not going to Makati...
Review 120:The hotel was a tad overdated but that's about it
Review 121:15 mins from the airport and free shuttle to MOA which is only 5 mins away. Get the breakfast option with your stay. Best value around!
Review 122:The hotel is starting to age and rooms, bathrooms, furniture will need renovation soon. The breakfast area is not well organized and is too small for the number of guests.
Review 123:Location, Large size rooms, efficient staff. Comfortable bed. Reasonable price.
Review 124:A bit pricey I thought 3,000 PHP for early check in a bit over The top. Surrounding Area a bit run down
Review 125:Friendly and accomodating staff . Close to airport . Room was as I liked IT
Review 126:It was my fifth visit to Heritage Hotel.. And it gets better and better every time. Great staff always friendly and very helpful...pool is lovely and never crowded.. highly recommended..
Review 127:the hotel was getting a little old and worn however for the price it was great value. If you are a coffee lover don't bother with the coffee here
Review 128:The staff were extremely friendly and provided great service. The buffet breakfast was also good value with the hotel bar open 24hrs.
Review 129:No soundproof room doors and the knob lock of my room is kinda broken.
Review 130:I had fun staying at this hotel tho it seems that this hotel kinda look old for ther people but yeah if you want a peaceful stay in a hotel with peaceful surroundings like pool, bar, and cafe then might as well try this hotel!
Review 131:Prices of food and beverages were very expensive. Dearest in the Philippines.
Review 132:The staff really helped me out in my trip. I for some stupid reason accidentally left my passport in the room. But never realised until I got to the airport. But after a quick phone call. And a short taxi ride. I had my passport back. Such a relief.
Review 133:bed was very unconfortable, room was cold and smelly like smoked even though was supossedly a non smoke room. Floors very cold. The pillows simply bad and linen and bedcover worn out and insufficient.
Review 134:Had breakfast at around 9am, several food trays were empty , no refilling done. The porridge just because it was plain shouldn't mean it has to be tasteless/bland.
Review 135:Excellent location
Review 136:When you have booked their car for 0330hrs in the morning to get you to the airport and you call for your luggage to be taken at 0315 so you can check out, don't expect to be leaving at 0350. It was a one off but still annoying!!!
Review 137:Very handy for Mall of Asia and the airport
Review 138:Mosquitoes under the table at the restaurant, especially at night. Most of the pillows already flattened.
Review 139:Convenience in term of accessibility to public transport. Room cleanliness. Room service efficient response.
Review 140:I called the hotel to have transport from the airport to the hotel. Some how my request got lost. Ended up waiting over an hour for someone to come get me. Once at the hotel I find out there is no hot water in the non-smoking rooms. If I want hot water I have to stay in a smoking room. Luckily I was only there for 1 night.
Review 141:Relatively close to the airport
