Reviews for Miramare Residence

Review 1:I rented a room for 65 euros and find out after the rental that I had to pay 35 euros for cleaning. The unexpected payment of more than the 50% of the original price made me really unhappy and ruined my vacation moment.

Review 2:The checkin was poor and well under delivered on time. The staff were surly almost bossy. The information on their web overstated the beach ( there wasn't one) among other things. The bed was hard. May as well have slept on the floor and there was a gas leak. The cleaning fee was euro 35 for two nights was not well set out. We stayed 2 night and had it reduced to e15.

Review 3:The balcony and good wifi

Review 4:All staff at the reservation desk was very slow and unhappy. We were suprised since front desk staff in general are very welcoming, but all we got were frowns here!

Review 5:Other than the reception desk, the overall staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall area is big and the facilities are good. The residences are comfortable, the terrace is nice and there is space for car parking. We stayed for two days but Miramare could be a good choice for families that want to stay longer since it has its own kitchen and laundry.

Review 6:Charged extra cleaning, even if you haven't used done any cooking in the kitchen. 15 euro or 35 ero if over three days. 10 euro each way to the harbour which is a short journey, but too far to go with cases. For a short stay better value to stay somewhere more expensive but that has pick up and drop off included. No electric bikes available, but no way to get to town to get them, so had to hire their bikes (which were a reasonable rate). Ridiculous late check in and early check out. Booking.com had agreed earlier checkin and later check out, but staff argued about it with me-accepted in the end. Rooms only separated by a short wall, so no real privacy. No washing liquid or tea towels in the kitchen. I only wanted it to make tea. Stayed in other self catering in marretimo and was properly equipped.

Review 7:In a nice part of the island

Review 8:the mattress was a bit uncomfortable, and also the bicycles.

Review 9:privacy, insect screens, air conditioning, change of towels, good working appliances, and great staff.

Review 10:You must have in mind that it is a kind of self catering place, therefore, do not expect the usual hotel services such as everyday cleaning or toiletries replacements.

Review 11:It is very well located. Ten minutes cycling to town and ten minutes to Lido Burrone beach. It is nice place overall. The cabins were comfortable and you can enjoy a fair level of privacy. I went on end of September (low season) so there were no breakfast and cant comment on that. Staff will do anything to please you.

Review 12:Well designed low key and comfortable accommodation set in spacious grounds. Bike hire made it fun to explore the island and deck chairs set out beside the sea perfect for relaxing.

Review 13:There wasn't much we didn't like! Would fully recommend Miramare for anyone wanting a sunny holiday.

Review 14:Loved the tyle of accommodation, comfortable inside and out, with free air con and wi fi too. The staff were welcoming and the room got cleaned every couple of days. The location was perfect- right next to a gorgeous bit of coastline, lovely little beach bar just along the coast. Only a 5 minute bike ride from the town, and bike hire is cheap- and well worth it! Loved the island, lots to do and see and gorgeous coastline everywhere.

Review 15:The board with all the rules next to the reception, when you arrive it gives a bad impression, it's like they forbid everything. The lady from the reception who spoke French was nice but the otherone was very cold and not welcoming.

Review 16:The private beach it is best. Location is perfect to relax. We saw other beaches and they were overcrowed and less beautiful than the private beach. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and smiling. The studio was very nice surtenly with the patio outside.

Review 17:The breakfast was basic but still enough to get you going for the day.

Review 18:Miramare Residence has a number of bungalows in a beautiful forest justoutside the centre of Favignana. The decor is very basic but clean andperfect for our needs. We had a lovely private porch and a small frontyard, there is a separate kitchen with a table and a spare single bedand a bedroom with double bed. There is a free parking within thegrounds of the residence. We hired bikes for only 10 euro per day andcycled everywhere. It's only 15-20 minutes ride from the amazingBlue Marine, Cala Rosa, Cala Azzura and Lido Borrone. Strongly recommendvisiting all of them. The town centre with all of its restaurants, shopsand bakeries is less than 10 minutes bike ride.

Review 19:The smell of cigaret coming from the neighbour terrace was not pleasant. In such a well managed place it should not be difficult to dedicate one area of the residence to smokers. Also, you could try to get a stand-alone cottage where this issue is minimized (we were in a tre-units cottage).

Review 20:If you are looking for an alternative to noise and crowd this is the right spot. You will stay in a cozy and peaceful place with a lot of green around in a convenient location (very close to the sea and reachable by feet from the main village). The staff is nice and the breakfast, even though not abundant, is adequate. The buildings are tastefully decorated in rustic style.

Review 21:The daily tariff is not cheap, and at par with that of a 3 star hotel. However a few strange and awkward hotel rules have removed some of the pleasure whilst residing there. The room is cleaned on alternate days, and limited to the bathroom and bedroom only. The kitchen is never cleaned. Only two rolls of toilet paper are allocated per room cleaning session, and a roll won't be replaced until completely used up. The two tiny soap bars and two soap liquid packets which were used up by the second day were never replaced. But most surprising was the system used for breakfast. Every guest was allowed just one cornetto or focaccia (to be ordered the day before), one cappuccino or latte and one espresso, a glass of juice (or a glass of the delicious almond milk) one yoghurt, cereal (choice of 2) and bread with butter and jams. There was no fruit or cakes, both of which are typical in Sicilian breakfasts, let alone hams and cheeses. We would have preferred not being served breakfast (with appropriate reduction from the bill) as we could have easily prepared it in the room's kitchenette which is even supplied with a pot for cooking coffee.Another surprise was the charge for using the room's air conditioner. A card with chip is given to guests at check-in and this has to be inserted in a unit counter in the room so as to activate the air conditioner. Not knowing the rates that would apply we decided not to make use of it altogether, unwillingly preferring to bear the heat in the mid-August nights. The kitchen is well equipped with plates, cutlery, a chopping knife, pans, pasta sieve and even a cheese grater. The fridge/freezer and hob worked well. However no liquid soap or sponge is supplied and these have to be purchased from the grocer in town. We ended up leaving most of the soap behind us as we hardly used any in the week we stayed there.

Review 22:I stayed at Miramare residence with my partner for 7 nights in mid-August 2014. The atmosphere is unique and quaint with well spaced semi-detached houses with a front verandah among pine trees and well tended cactus gardens, BBQ areas, a laundry house, a breakfast/bar, spacious parking under the trees situated across the road from a public beach and within walking distance to the town centre. The two ladies serving breakfast were very cordial and pleasant. We were offered a typical Sicilian tart (over and above our daily ration) on the 15th August as this day is an important feast.

Review 23:No condition in the room. Heard from others that you can rent conditioning fan for additional price. But for 153eur per night I believe condition should be included. Anyway, was not big trouble, as there is no big windows, and it's in shadow, so, sun does not go trought.

Review 24:Place is great, in garden with pines, feels like in village. Centre is near - 15-20 min on foot, Lido Burrone is near, Cala Rossa is 10min by motorino. On the day of check-out, could leave luggages, go to beach to spend the day (as was departing afternoon) and have a shower at residence after checked out hours.

Review 25:The think i wasn't happy with was the fact that air conditioning was an optional you had to pay for. In 2014 thats unheard of!

Review 26:The hotel os really lovely and clean. Situated close to the beaches and city centre.

Review 27:- Staff don´t speak English and no information in English in the aparment/room only in Italian. - Bar availability, when was it ever actually open???

Review 28:Quiet neigbourhood

Review 29:A bit noisy bed and no conditioning system which could be a problem when is really hot. The transfer to the port did cost 5 euros each which is too much concerning the distance.

Review 30:I liked the calm and relaxing location, the cleanliness and the facilities in the apartment like cutleries were already there and everything you need too

Review 31:Staff, check in and out time, hard bed

Review 32:Location

Review 33:Very bad price for money ! 235 euros for this is scandalous.

Review 34:Accomodation was too small. lack of cleaning stuff

Review 35:The garden with large areas of Shadow

Review 36:Il frigorifero un po' rumoroso

Review 37:La posizione, l'area verde dove il residence è situato, lo staff

Review 38:Next time we learn a little more Italian, as we had a misunderstanding with one of the receptionists.

Review 39:The location.

Review 40:Leaving !!

Review 41:Everything ! The staff were really helpful ... I loved my bike !!

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:The bikes, the grounds, the room.

Review 44:Enjoyed our stay at miramare, very helpful staff all round. No hidden extras, like air conditioner! Will be back soon

Review 45:The bungalow we stayed was extremely clean! The landscape breathtaking, the staff very friendly. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed! 10 minutes cycling from center or a 20 minute walk.

Review 46:Not possible to buy anything (restaurant food or groceries) on location - if you don't have a car or moped, you are stuck with a bus which leaves for town once every hour - and you really cannot buy groceries in 40 degress celcius if you take them home on the bus.

Review 47:Nice rooms, nice beds, very helpful staff, very nice beach nearby

Review 48:Not very wide wireless area for internet connecting.

Review 49:Cool and quite. No noise. No music. Friendly reception. Very good organization for keeping up customers from and to the airport just in time. A very pleasent village located inside a unique. botanic park of pine trees and with all sorts of wonderful autocthonous. plants.

Review 50:The equiped room and kitchen. The garden near the beach. The nice Breakfast; The free service after the check-out

Review 51:The tranquility. Very clean. Towels changed every day. Set in a pine grove but close to facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff.
