Reviews for Palazzo Guiderocchi

Review 1:It must be hard to get well-functioning plumbing in an old Palazzo! Although it had a clanky pump, the bath was bright and spacious, like the large bedroom. We would have appreciated a brighter desk light.

Review 2:Great location, a few steps from the beautiful Piazza Del Popolo. Wonderful old stone Palazzo, stylish interior design, high ceilings, lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is terrific; the staff could not be more gracious and welcoming. As with all picturesque hill towns, it's a bit tricky gettIng through the narrow streets to the hotel, but our map app did it – and parking was absolutely no problem because they have their own at no extra cost.

Review 3:No kettle in room. Breakfast very average for a hotel of 4 star but still varied.

Review 4:The location to the main sights. Beautiful rooms. Wifi worked well. Very helpful staff.

Review 5:The room rate does not correspond to the service. There is mildew, mold in the toilet. It is very disgusting. The TV does not work properly. You have to find parking on your own, the hotel does not offer private parking. We had to leave the car in blue zone and pay. When we complained at the front desk, we were told that was the problem of hiring the lower rate. All this is not included in the description of the hotel.

Review 6:The bed is very comfortable. Good location.

Review 7:The room was in the attic. We had to climb two stairs which were dirty. The sheets did not fit the bed, and the parts of the room were very dusty.

Review 8:location

Review 9:No bar facilities

Review 10:An antique hotel full of character, and atmosphere, located only a few steps from the main square in a beautiful town. Staff very friendly.

Review 11:Breakfast even by Italian standards was very poor. The quality of coffee depended on who was making it. Selection was very limited.

Review 12:Location was great, the history of the building is fantastic and the rooms are large.

Review 13:Breakfast was rather disappointing, perhaps in relation to our expectations of a 4 star hotel (the crumbles of the previous guests are left on the tablecloth, food replenished only at times and of rather low quality, mainly industrial products of fair quality, like yogurt quite liquid, no fruit mix, scrambled eggs made out of powder, bacon if you are lucky, no cheese variety or fresh bread). We paid a room upgrade to have a desk and a bit more space, and then the price-quality of the hotel went down significantly. With such a beautiful place, it would be easy to upgrade it a bit.

Review 14:Excellent location near the piazzas of Ascoli. Beautiful historical building (explanation on this only in Italian). Friendly staff with decent English; signor Marco solves everything! Parking availability in city makes it very comfortable. Nice seating area with tea, coffee, water.

Review 15:There was nothing that we didn't like.

Review 16:Everything. Our room in the annex was palatial and overlooked the main square. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was great witha very comprehensive buffet.

Review 17:Difficult to get there by car due to the one way system - but that's not the hotel's fault. Staff were really helpful in directing us to the car park.

Review 18:Beautiful historic hotel Fantastically helpful staff - gave us an automatic upgrade Excellent restaurant Great location

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:The room, good breakfast, lovely central location. Excellent swimming nearby at Cartara, a walk along a very grand stone street leads you to clear green water pools which the desk staff told me about. Very fine town worth exploring. Locals chat to you and are most friendly.

Review 21:Nothing!... Well, the rooms could have used a bit more lighting, nut that is the nature of the beast in most of Italy and much of Europe. The view from my room was so wonderful (rooftops of the town and the bell towers and distant hills), that THIS was the only light I cared about!

Review 22:The staff is exemplary -- and SO incredibly friends and helpful. They drew maps for me, even walked half-way across town to meet me in my car and show me the way BACK to the hotel parking lot! Beyond the call of duty. Highly recommended -- and an incredible location, just a block away from the famous hitoric CAFFE MILETTI on the main square --]truly one of the most beautiful squares in all of Italy.

Review 23:Impressive building, very close to the centre and yet off the beaten track. Large, comfortable room. Helpful staff. Ascoli is definitely a place to visit and this hotel adds to the pleasure.

Review 24:That our annex room overlooked the alley between two buildings and the street noises reverberated thru this alley way like a tunnel. So the view was not pleasant. As a future suggestion for your town council as I can see more and more visitors interested to this historical place, would be to provide information in English as it is the universal language of the world. None of us like change but you can see some areas of the town adapting to the upcoming technologies and businesses.

Review 25:What I liked about our room was the small kitchen facilties that were available to us. As I have a number of severe food allergies and this allowed us to prepare some of our own meals. Very clean and tidy. The Palazzo Guiderocchi staff was very helpful with any of our inquires and requests. The town its self is historical, transitioning thru renovations as well, so our time was limited during the afternoon hours of seeing the sites.

Review 26:no Internet in the rooms extremely difficult to park near the hotel (parking place is too small)

Review 27:great people, wonderful food, nice and quiet

Review 28:frukosten

Review 29:Everything - and the superb location

Review 30:amazing central location, friendly staff, good breakfasts

Review 31:The room, frescoed and charming

Review 32:Amazing and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel, a real gem

Review 33:Location (Annex near Plazzo Popolo) was very convenient for visiting Ascoli.

Review 34:Location room

Review 35:convenience.

Review 36:Nothing.

Review 37:Very friendly helpful staff. Never acted bothered by our many requests!

Review 38:A bit too palatial

Review 39:It,s position

Review 40:Toilet a little too high, a bit uncomfortable.

Review 41:Quiet, clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Great location.

Review 42:Food need to be improved

Review 43:Nice staff,nice location,excellent building

Review 44:Assenza di adeguato parcheggio

Review 45:not a lot of light in the rooms

Review 46:good location, clean rooms, really kind staff

Review 47:Nice place in the center of the city. Good beakfast. Helpful and kind stuff.

Review 48:Initially, we were upset about not staying in the Giuderocchi itself but we soon forgot that

Review 49:We did not stay in the Palazzo itself and initially were very disappointed with that.We stayed in the "annexe" which turned out to be a room in a renovated Palazzo directly overlooking the main square and the marvelous "Cafe Melitto". While wed missed out on the classy rooms of the Guiderocchi and had to go there for breakfast, our room was very good and we had the very best location. Staff were great and,in particular, the wonderful man who seemed to be everywhere ( took us to our room, waited on people at breakfast and kind to all). You need to let Ascoli grow on you. Walk the streets and see the renovations underway to the many Palazzos in the town. When they are completed, this will be a stunning town. .

Review 50:We asked reception to book a table reservation at a local restaurant for that evening which he said he would do. On leaving the hotel to go to the restaurant we asked if the table had been booked for us and he showed us to the hotel restaurant where we were staying. I would like to think it was a misunderstanding but I think not as we had named the restaurant we wanted him to book!

Review 51:The ease of booking this hotel. It's the second time we've stayed there and it was as good as the first time. Everything was really good. Room, bed. Linen, extremely clean. Room and bathroom really warm impressed that the heating was on as it was really cold outside. Breakfast was really good several options.

Review 52:The water pressure in the shower isn't up to much, the two beds pushed together to make a double come apart easily, and the room with it's furniture are plain.

Review 53:The location is excellent, located in the heart of Ascoli Piceno which is a beatitful place to visit. It is kept very clean.

Review 54:I have been wanting to visit Ascoli Piceno for years. WOW ! What a stunningly beautiful place and at least 2 to 3 days things to do. Let's hope it remains pretty secret though!!!!

Review 55:the "dependance" is actually another building, 5 minutes walks from the hotel. That means that for breakfast, the check-out, internet and everything else you must go to the hotel. The pics of the room on booking are not real.

Review 56:the position, the breakfast, the cleaness

Review 57:Breakfast was poor.Little appeared freshly prepared.Eggs were ready boiled, so cold and in my experience undercooked and the frittata and small sausages were sitting in a cold chafing dish and most unappetising.A bowl of fresh fruit salad would have been most welcome. The public areas looked in need of refurbishment, the stair carpet being faded and grubby and the banisters having lost their end finials and some of the seat covers were stained. We had booked a good while ago and although not apparently busy our room was somewhat basic. It was not "a large room with period decorations" .The paint work was a bit knocked about; old fashioned shower room.

Review 58:The position was very central, the young staff pleasant and helpful and our evening meal in the restaurant very good indeed and reasonably priced. I had asked for and got a quiet room away from the lift.

Review 59:Exceptionally difficult to find. Had to ask 3 times, eventually followed a kind man on a bicycle! Amaze of narrow streets by car.

Review 60:Instant room upgrade, extra hi speed wifi in lobby, some cooked dishes at breakfast which was very comprehensive. Staff response to need for help.

Review 61:We did not like the noises that surrounded it. A lot of traffic in the alley next to our room and a juvenile communitycenter at the square next door, youth gathered there until 3.30/4.30 a.m.It was impossible to sleep with an open window an we he had to buy earstops.

Review 62:The palazzo was unique and has managed to maintain it's character.

Review 63:The sofa in the bedroom was not good, but there were two good armchairs and a day-bed so not a big problem. The positioning of one of the showers meant that if my husband showered before me, the floor was soaking. But these are minor carps.

Review 64:The hotel is a beautifully restored medieval Italian palazzo. Our bedroom was very large and airy, with a good bathroom, with jacuzzi and two showers over the bath. All the staff were helpful, particularly Andrea in reception and the restaurant was excellent, with memorable food and wine (in a good way) with very good service.

Review 65:The facilities for a modern hotel are at least 20 years out of date !!The stay was a taste of quaint old style, perhaps similar to staying inyour Grandma's spare room. Blankets, not duvets. No phone in theannex rooms. Hot water quickly finished. Shower only with large outletabove head. Heating not working. Old fashioned furniture. Awful and lowquality breakfast selection. Cold and harsh feeling to the room decor.

Review 66:Fabulous location in lovely historic Italian city centre, based in anancient building at the heart of the old towm, and with some parkingspaces, which is brilliant

Review 67:We didn't stay longer!

Review 68:Accommodating staff to any request. Going way beyond customer service. Rooms was fantastic and the location could not have been better.

Review 69:We stayed in the "other building" which was ok but had no original features unlike the beautiful Palazzo!! Having said that it was quiet even though only a few metres from Piazza di Popolo.

Review 70:Friendly helpful staff, good service and superb location !!!

Review 71:1. Staff varied a lot. Two were very helpful, others less so. Service at breakfast on 4 of our 7 days was very poor.2. There was no atmosphere of welcome or warmth towards guests, but a lack of interest. 3. There was only hanging space for clothes in our room. We asked for a chest of drawers, or for an apparently screwed-up drawer to be made available, but they were unable to do either. We had to keep underwear, socks, jerseys etc in our suitcases. Not good enough for 7 nights in a supposedly 4 star hotel. 4. We were poorly advised about car hire. We were not warned about the difficulty of driving to the hotel through the one-way streets & had a very stressful time as a result, damaging the car in a very narrow & congested street. The hotel should have offered a map showing the direction of one-way streets. 5. The car park was cramped and very difficult to access. 6. We were surprised to be given a room fitted for disabled people, which was not entirely satisfactory, having a low washbasin & a high lavatory. It was also difficult to read due to weak lighting. 7. Tourist information on display was very limited. 8. Overall we felt there was poor management supervision of staff, a degree of complacency and lack of concern for the customer.

Review 72:Lovely old building, convenient for walking around the centre of the oldtown. Our room was quiet and spacious.

Review 73:A charming former palace with an excellent location. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding; the vealwas really delicious.

Review 74:No wifi in the room or dining room, only in the public lounge.

Review 75:It was centrally located and easy to find. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. One had the sense of a palazzo. The breakfast was very nice, served in a pleasant dining room. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Follow restaurant recommendations...they were excellent!

Review 76:The food in the restaurant in the same building was disappointing

Review 77:Very pleasant and professional especially the breakfast service withmuch good humour and coffee Perhaps the hotel could provide a largerscale google map of its location in its website and as a hand out toguests. Italian towns from this period while very beautiful can be verydisorienting

Review 78:If staying in the dependance, one does have to carry luggage for a blockor two. It is well worth it, but perhaps not for people with children orwalking problems. The breakfast could be improved. We were there duringa busy time and they often ran out of things, but did replenish whenasked. They could have better maps and tourist info in the hotel whichsaves a walk to the tourist office, especially if it is closed onarrival which was our case.

Review 79:We were luck enough to have a room in the dependance with a view overthe main piazza. It was like sitting in the drawing room of AscoliPiceno with the action and light changing throughout the day. Noise wasnot a problem as the windows were well insulated. It was an incredibile,I would say unique experience. The staff went out of its way to make uscomfortable.

Review 80:Breakfast nothing special , we did not dine at the hotel, you have to let them know in advance.

Review 81:Closeness to piazza duomo, triple room was very large with beautiful stylish furniture.

Review 82:The old palazzo has been refurbished to high standard and has a lot ofstyle. Our room was extremely nice and very nicely furnished . The hotelis in the historical center of Ascoli Piceno and very close to the mainpiazza though the street is very quiet.

Review 83:The hotel is poorly maintained, some staff memebers did not provide anyassistance, the hotel used to be in much better shape. Some hother suchas Dany (Spanish interim employee) was great.

Review 84:The building is nice, the location is excellent if you want to stay inthe city center.

Review 85:The hotel is very difficult to find by car if you do not know the city. It would be helpful if there were clear instructions as to how to get there. We circled the central part of the city 3 times before being able to find the hotel and then only after one of us found it on foot and returned to guide the car in. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

Review 86:A bit difficult to find... Gps had a bit of trouble

Review 87:The location in Ascoli is perfect, & the staff were very gracious. Therestaurant located on site is outstanding!

Review 88:A wonderful place, great staff, excellent access to historical center of city.

Review 89:Beautiful old palace for a great price.

Review 90:Breakfast

Review 91:Decoration Enviroment

Review 92:Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful building and surroundings, good accommodations, reasonably priced, in a marvelous City.

Review 94:Posizione centrale

Review 95:breakfast

Review 96:palazzo and hotel staff

Review 97:Easy access to everything. Spacious room very quaint and relaxed

Review 98:Only the parking congestion around the building.

Review 99:The building, the location, the bedroom, the breakfast, the staff.

Review 100:great location. wonderful base to enjoy Ascoli Piceno. Junior suite was an excellent deal. Parking in the back of the Hotel was very helpful.

Review 101:The Sheets and towels where not changed every day !

Review 102:Great location, nice room, friendly staff.

Review 103:Location, building is faboulous
