At an altitude of 4,900 feet, this eco-friendly luxury resort is accessible by a cable car from the town of Lana. It offers a free spa center, and 2 restaurants.
All spacious rooms at Vigilius Mountain Resort are built from sustainable, natural materials. Each room has parquet floors and a furnished balcony or patio. Some rooms offer panoramic views of the Dolomites.
A breakfast buffet is available daily, made from fresh, local ingredients. The traditional Stube Ida restaurant is open during the day and in the evening for regional dishes. Restaurant 1500 serves international cuisine for dinner.
A physical trainer runs free activities such as yoga and Pilates classes 3 times a day. Guests can also take part in mountain bike tours and Nordic walking at no extra charge.
In the winter, the hotel features ski-to-door access from the Monte San Vigilio slopes. The heated ski deposit is free, and guests can rent equipment and passes at the front desk.
The resort is 4 miles from Merano, and a 30-minute drive from Bolzano. There is a free parking lot at the funicular station.

Review 1：The goal is relaxation, but as a couple visiting we did feel there was an undertone of a "corporate" type vibe. I believe the hotel often hosts many corporate type retreats. Other than the high-end restaurant, there was something left to be desired with the restaurants. All-in-all, the hotel was a little pricey, but worth the experience. WiFi shuts off during the nighttime.

Review 2：Very relaxing. Beautiful unique hotel. Excellent location to access amazing hiking trail systems. A fun experience for a few nights. Some of the places to visit on the hikes had great food, others not so much.

Review 3：Passive eco heating/cooling meant our room couldn't cope with 37C temps and was very warm.

Review 4：Stunning location. Very thoughtful design of the building, and it's integration into environment. Rooms and public spaces have had a huge amount of careful thought. Best of all were the staff, perfect services fm attitude.

Review 7：The WiFi passes expired after 1 day, although the second one lasted for 5 days (access is blocked from 11pm to 7am, that's a plus point by the way!). There is a little too much fuss when serving the wine in the 1500 restaurant which isn't in alignment with the relaxed laid-back atmosphere elsewhere :-).

Review 8：Unlike many mountains, Vigiljoch is reached from the valley floor at 1500m on a single cable car ride. So the feeling of height is immediate, the views & scenery are breathtaking and for serious walkers it is possible to be at one of the summits after approximately 3 hours. Oh, and the hotel is fantastic, the feeling of calm is everywhere, it is quite unlike anywhere else we have been.

Review 23：This is just an incredibly great hotel on all different aspects. If youare looking for a relaxing, romantic time off with yourwife/husband, this is the place to be. Just by arriving by cablecarto the hotel is already fantastic and sets the beginning of a marvellousstay. The food is on a michelin 1 star level, the atmosphere is greatand the spa is so relaxing. Especially standing naked outside in thesnow when you've been in the sauna or hammam: wonderful!
