Reviews for Mount Falcon Estate

Review 1:The security on the room doors was giving bother we couldn't access or rooms when we wanted

Review 2:The pool breakfast rooms were great generally nice place to stay

Review 3:Great welcome from the reception staff. Bar staff very attentive despite being extremely busy and friendly service in the restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 4:A minor point: the promised feedback to queries on ambient temperature and precise origin of duck on the menu was not forthcoming.

Review 5:Overall, this is an excellent 4 star hotel. The owners aspire to 5 star rating, but the standard of cuisine would need to improve a little more.

Review 6:Room wasn't cleaned on the Saturday morning despite leaving the sign on the door and we had to call to get this done at 3pm. It was rushed and not fully done. Bar staff not that friendly.

Review 7:Beautiful location. Rooms cozy, staff in the spa great! Good delicious, staff very attentive.

Review 8:No Bad Experience. The Bar area a little small and lacked athmosphere

Review 9:Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Hotel room was spacious and spotlessly clean Very relaxing environment Lovely spa area

Review 10:The immediate impression is wonderful, opulent, grandiose and welcoming The room we had was old world charm full of castle like touches. The staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome

Review 11:Towels weren't replaced even though we left in bath to bring to attention of staff we wanted them changed. Room not serviced until late in afternoon. Bar service was shocking in sense that they kept overcharging for drinks we didn't have. Otherwise hotel fabulous and scenery is beautiful

Review 12:Stayed first week September, weather cool no fires lit in main bar and nice drawing room left of reception very disappointing. Found food in bar only average but breakfast very good.

Review 13:Nothing, I had an amazing stay.

Review 14:The staff are warm, welcoming and make you feel welcomed from the moment you check-in. The hawk walk was an amazing experience and was the reason I originally booked.

Review 15:Extra bed turned out to be a camp bed for an adult this is unacceptable. Staff unfriendly.

Review 16:Grounds beautiful breakfast very good. Pool and hot tub in picturesque location.

Review 17:Could do with more seating and dinning space in Boathouse bar for size of hotel

Review 18:Beautiful luxury hotel in stunning setting. Great meal in Boathouse bar

Review 19:Buffet hot breakfast, would prefer this is to order. Apart from that the breakfast was very good and loved the breakfast room

Review 20:Location and surroundings were excellent, even with poor weather we loved the walks around the estate. Staff very friendly and helpful

Review 21:This is a beautiful hotel with an unusually wide range of activities available on the estate as well as in easy driving distance. The staff are excellent - kind, efficient and very welcoming.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Great facilities. Our room was very comfortable. The evening meal at the Kitchen restaurant was superb. Very helpful staff. During our trip to Ireland we had stayed in B&Bs so this was the most expensive location we stayed in. Whilst more expensive it was good value for money and a nice treat at the end of our tour.

Review 24:There was absolutely no atmosphere in the hotel, we were asked to take dinner and breakfast in a massive function room at the back of the hotel which was awful. The food was poor at best the hotel pub is a small room that could hardly seat 25 people which was a shame because it was a charming room.

Review 25:The staff were well trained and polite and helpful. The grounds are fantastic the room was well finished out and the bed was comfortable, the hotel is very clean.

Review 26:Wifi signal available but unstable. Almost zero phone coverage for Vodafone

Review 27:The setting was princely and the bedrooms were regal - no expense spared by the owner. Dinner was exquisite. The activities were superb, particularly the hawk walk with Jason - it's a must. The outstanding value was delivered by a team, each of whom bent over backwards to welcome us and to assist at every opportunity. Don't miss this jewel.

Review 28:Wonderful stay in 19th century manor house with beautiful grounds. Unique "things to do'" on offer - highly recommend the learning tour with the on-site falconer. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 29:Perfect. Beautiful hotel. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful comfortable room. Huge bed. Fantastic Spa. Welcoming courteous professional staff. Best meal I have ever had. Just perfect.

Review 30:Came on business and left relaxed and rested. We had a beautiful dinner, lovely Irish Breakfast and a nice afternoon tea. The clients very much enjoyed the walks on the estate and an archery lesson. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Review 31:The bar was a bit small and uncomfortable and the good available was limited. Poor breakfast menu. No background music in the restaurant or boardroom (another area to eat) seemed to make people whisper and left the atmosphere subdued.

Review 32:The hotel and surrounding grounds and beautiful and tranquil. There are walking trails in the grounds and birds samd every step of the way. The room we had was big and to a high standard. Very clean too. Staff were pleasant and the food in the Kitchen restaurant was fantastic.

Review 33:Breakfast room in comparison a bit sombre and food disappointing as if run by another company - odd

Review 34:Staff fantastic, bar and restaurant excellent. lovely rooms and menu good

Review 35:Everything about Mount Falcon was brilliant. We felt like we were a million miles away from everything it was so peaceful. The grounds are stunning. The staff friendly and helpful. Cant wait for a return visit!!

Review 36:Ok the bar food could be a little less expensive but honestly you do get what you pay for. Apart from that we have absolutely no complaint

Review 37:I love everything about Mount Falcon, the accommodation, the food, the staff and the surroundings. Valerie and her team are the most helpful hoteliers that I have ever come across.

Review 38:The loud elevator music in all public rooms. The poor maintenance in the guest room. The much to high prices for this poor quality of hospitality. The huge load of water in the orange juice. The careless staff.

Review 39:The park with its beautiful old trees. The quality of the beef for dinner. The easy way to leave the place in the morning.

Review 40:Wish we could have stayed for another night as we didn't have time to use the leisure facilities. The pool and jacuzzi looked really nice.

Review 41:Spent one night at Mount Falcon.with my 20 year old daughter. We both loved it. We had dinner in the restaurant and both had the tasting menu. Delicious.

Review 42:Loved the surprise of Mount Falcon. So much by way of accommodation ie hotel and chalet / houses.Leo was a pleasure to deal with with the Falcons.A gentleman. Reception staff obliging and helpful. Much appreciated. Food must part very good. My husband according to him menu and tastes could be much improved. However loved the lamb and fish. Overall a wonderful experience and would love to return. Many thanks, Helen Gleeson

Review 43:Restaurant quality excellent but menu choice limited (especially noticeable over a 4 night stay) and pricey. Taped "music" too all-pervading, too repetitive, and too loud.

Review 44:Ambience in old part of house. Staff throughout were courteous and efficient. Connors Gap Suite surely the most spacious and best hotel room in Ireland.

Review 45:Room not 100 per cent sound proof.

Review 46:Location is away from road. Furniture luxurious yet subdued. Spacious, clean room. Large, comfortable bed. Food excellent but pricey.

Review 47:Sorry can't think of anything!

Review 48:Mount falcon is perfect for that special occasion. My husband a keen angler adores the place. It's luxurious, peaceful, the food is great. Whether you want to fish, golf, sight see or chill Mount Falcon is thee place!! It's not cheap but you get what you pay for!!

Review 49:Presentation of food generally. Breakfast served in a huge oversized room considering there was only two of us dining at one stage. Quality of breakfast very poor. Quality and quantity of bar food disappointing.

Review 50:Location of property and general ambience Staff very nice

Review 51:Compact size of bedroom, creaky bed, breakfast room lacking character and long wait for pot of tea

Review 52:Location, cycle/walking trail, well kept grounds, bathroom.

Review 53:Room 1 is a little noisy at night time The restaurant is a beautiful place but the food was a "little" disappointing in places.

Review 54:The hotel building The comfortable bar The excellent restaurant The room quality Helpful Staff Fishing Lakes Driving Range Forest Walks

Review 55:Dinner was a ridiculously long drawn out process of courses, food was not up to expectations. Dining tables to close together. No atmosphere. Dirty bath panel, shaving mirror and carpet around bedside cabinets needed hovering.

Review 56:Good price for a bed and breakfast stay for two.

Review 57:Full Irish Breakfast is a mix of buffet and waiter service, one or the other would be better so you can have all breakfast at same time, rather than have to wait for fried eggs to be served when the rest has already been chosen from the buffet..

Review 58:Lovely Hotel and Grounds with Great Atmosphere, Friendly Staff and Good Food with Great Service.. see you again soon..

Review 59:Loved everything, jason who does the falconry was wonderful. Had a great time on our hawl walk. Room was like lovely if a bit hot.
