Reviews for Da Clotilde
Review 1:Free Wifi but hard to pick up, need to sit up near breakfast room .
Review 2:A lovely warm and friendly run B& B, with a wonderful view. Large room and large modern bathroom , big deck area with a stunning view . Very good value . The family run restaurant a few doors up "Locanda " also has fresh local food beautifully cooked. A great place to go for evening meals. Nicola one of the sons is extremely helpful if you have limited Italian and speak English . I would definitely come back and stay even longer.
Review 3:You definitely need a car to get to Amalfi (20 min). There are buses but they don't really run a schedule and are hours apart :( Other than that, everything was great!
Review 4:Fabulous view!!! The B&B is at about a 1000 m height, so you have mountains and sea in the same place. Clean, large bed, plenty of space in the room and bathroom, friendly staff. There's also a great restaurant nearby, again with an awesome view and even more awesome food :)
Review 5:We had a small child (18 months) as did our friends and the balcony wasnot a place we could let them be without holding onto them. Theguardrail has too large of gaps that a child could fall through about15-20 feet to the hard tile below. For this reason we could not leaveour door open to the balcony, so when we were in our room we weren'table to enjoy the view as much. The balcony is also not private, itleads to the stairs, where we also didn't want our 18 month oldgoing. So if you have small children this may not be the best choice. That was really the only problem with the B&B itself, but it wasenough that it took some enjoyment out of it. There are alot of stairsto go up and down daily so pack light, but this did not bother us on our3 day trip. When we went to check out we were told cash only. Weweren't told of this at checkin and this information was not visiblyposted anywhere so we had to run out to an atm, which there is one closeby. Also on the last day we were told of a 2 euro per adult per nightfee. This fee was not told to us up front either and we were told it wasa Municipal of Furore fee. Funny thing though, is we paid in cash withno receipt so how do they report to Furore?? Seems fishy.
Review 6:We stayed at Da Clotilde for 3 nights with our kids and another family. Our room was very large and very nice. The jetted shower was amazing andthe beds were very comfortable. Breakfast every morning was good. Theview, of course, was beautiful. The family that owns the B&B arevery kind though and the restaurant they own is in walking distance withvery good food.
Review 7:although it was not mentioned on Booking.com site, the hotel does not accept credit card the invoice that we asked for was written by hand on a blank piece of paper.
Review 8:*This is absolutely nothing to do with the lovely bnb itself, just be aware driving to town from here would not by easy.* We drove here thinking we would drive the coast from this side of the mountain. After taking the bus to town we realized it was not for the faint of heart and chose to drive back over the mountain to go around the coast (from west to east)
Review 9:The view, the restaurant, the air, proximity (by bus), the charming grapevines, did I say the view? It was beautiful.
Review 10:We arrived at Da Clotilde in the evening and nobody was there. We began to call and it was found that all stuff is in B&B and restaurant Lincante about 300m away from DC. We went there(!) and got room there with the bunk bed view, not sea view as we booked. I think nobody expect us. The next day we moved in Da Clotilde. This situation was a little unpleasant, especially that we paid as for all night in Da Clotilde. It would much better if hosts requested the arrival time previously and made note about there sutuation in B&B Lincante
Review 11:The room is large and comfortable. Great view from terrace. Proximity of such cities as Positono, Ravello, Amalfy
Review 12:It is difficult to carry heavy luggage down to the hotel as you have to access many steps up and down before reaching the hotel. I would suggest Da Clotilde hotel to make a luggage friendly flooring so that it is easier for hotel guests to pull the luggage down.
Review 13:The hotel is just right in front of Furore SITA Bus Station. We stayed in Room "Amalfi", which has a spacious room with excellent sea view. Room is clean.
Review 14:The location was quiet and beautiful. The B&B was beautiful, the rooms were large, clean and well maintained. The was a large sun terrace outside our room where was could sit and relax. The family who own La Clotilde were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. We felt like we had visited real Italy rather than a tourist version. It was easy to catch a bus to Amalfi and the explore this beautiful part of Italy. We loved it!
Review 15:The owner does not speak English but she has family that does. Public buses are the best way to get around but you need to get familiar with how the system works: you can not buy a ticket on the bus (you get it in the store/bar); schedule varies based on the day of the week; they are spars on Sundays.
Review 16:This location has breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. Our room had a very nice balcony with that priceless view. The room was very spacious and clean. Bathroom was recently remodeled.and also very nice. The start of the hiking trail "Pathway of gods" that takes you to Positano is half a mile away and should not be missed. While we used a car to get there, we found it more convenient to use public transportation to get to Amalfi. (45min) and around. There is a very nice restaurant Lincante about 200m away with equally stunning views.
Review 17:The bathroom was very musty smelling and the fridge in the room didn't work.
Review 18:I liked the room it was cool in very hot weather.
