Reviews for Wina Holiday Villa Kuta Bali
Review 1:The Reservation Counter Staffs are very helpful and the direction information is good. Amongst the Hotel in Bali which serves /Halal/ food. This is important as halal food is a requirement for Muslim tourist in Bali. Congrats Wina Holiday Inn!
Review 2:None.
Review 3:The hotel is value for money. Highly recommended for Muslim travellers as it served halal food. You wont have problem to order food anytime you feel so as the restaurant opens 24 hrs. Will definately stay here again.
Review 4:No lift for guests with mobility problems. The bathroom was clean but somewhat rundown.
Review 5:Great value - booked a special 2-room package and paid just a little more then the price of one room. Good location, decent restaurant menu, comfortable.
Review 6:We changed rooms a couple of times because of the smell in the washrooms.... Also, be warned, they ask for a deposit upon arrival. However I did not receive the deposit back during checkout and it was not put against our tab either. I emailed them to inquire but they have yet to respond and I doubt they will.
Review 7:The pools and the garden were lovely. They also had a good restaurant (good quality and reasonably priced) on the property.
Review 8:Bathroom door broke during the night but was promptly fixed in the morning. Beds were rather uncomfortable and the cleanliness of the bathroom was poor.
Review 9:Breakfast was both tasty and bountiful. As a vegetarian, there was a good selection for food. Pool facilities were nice and offered ample room for swimming.
Review 10:No elevator (I recommend first floor) Internet connection is poor in some rooms, while in others is acceptable Some of the staff could be more efficient
Review 11:Very good location: 2 minutes away from the beach (short walk), and about 10-12 minutes walking to party street. Rooms: stayed at this hotel 3 different times, and all rooms were very different!! One room was great, another one was much smaller and uncomfortable, so it all depends on which room you get. Very responsive and helpful housekeeping staff
Review 12:required some serious renovation, staff could be more attentive, food in the restaurant and breakfast is just okay, if you give your clothes to the laundry expect it to smell like lemongrass from 10 m distance for 5 days
Review 13:Location, value for money, beautiful grounds, minibar
Review 14:No kids club
Review 15:One of our fav hotel in d world ;) every year we will visit Bali for a family vacay & stay at Wina is a must.i love everythig about this hotel especially the location.i hope in future they can provide kids club in this hotel.
Review 16:Smell in bathroom. Pancakes at breakfast didn't tase homemade/local.
Review 17:Perfect location. Warm welcome. Local Balinese design. Nice garden view. Tasty omelettes. Quiet.
Review 18:my room was a bit smelly, and got a problem with the toilet too.
Review 19:I like the breakfast. The breakfast was great, a lot of delicious food. The staff, they were good always smile whenever they see us.
Review 20:The breakfast wasn't the best
Review 21:This resort has a great location close to the beach and all the shops of Kuta. Very affordable and has all the amenities you would expect from a larger hotel chain such as good wifi, beautiful swimming pools, a spa on the property (Although the spa does need a bit of an upgrade) 24 hour restaurant serving good food
Review 22:Wasn't really suited for young family with kids who splash around in pool. Kids got in trouble for splashing the bar pool. Also, there is NO bacon at breakfast. Otherwise it was ok.
Review 23:Convenient location.
Review 24:There is no lift so if you aren't good with stairs it's best to go for a ground floor room. The bathrooms could do with updating aesthetically but they work fine so they do the job!
Review 25:We thought the hotel was beautiful, so traditionally Balinese and the location was perfect!
Review 26:A lizard got into my room...twice. I don't mind that so much. The toilet started smelling of sewerage after about 4 days but someone came to fix it straight away in the late evening.
Review 27:The pool was beautiful, the food was tasty well cooked, staff were helpful.
Review 28:Loud Tourists who didnt respect the hotel and Tourists rude to the Indonesian people working here... I had to bite my tongue many times ... I totally love the local people :)
Review 29:The Hotel was nicely tucked away from all the busyness in Kuta so you never felt part of the tourist areas which was pleasant.. The hotel staff were like family and nothing was ever an issue for them... super helpful and we will certainly always return here from now on..
Review 30:nothing
Review 31:the place is great, staff is very helpul. when you go out and walk around from the place you can find easily a restaurant, bar, shopping center. near to the sea just few blocks.
Review 32:Bathroom constantly smelt. Staff were notified on arrival and promptly attended to problem but problem occurred next morning.
Review 33:Restaurant had amazing menu choices, staff friendly
Review 34:Only bad thing was that the internet was not working too well it took a lot of tries to connect then would shut off suddenly ,which did not impress my two kids .What no internet !!!
Review 35:It had a pool bar , and we were able to order drinks and meals from the pool . Nice and quiet to sleep at night.Clean rooms.
Review 36:The location was fantastic so close to everything, the staff were wonderful and the hotel had everything required for a great holiday. Breakfast was good to start the day also had a lunch and dinner there and prices were compatible to elsewhere :)
Review 37:Only the rice and potatoes at breakfast. corridors are a little dingy but once in the rooms they are nice.
Review 38:The staff were amazing. It was my second time there and would definitely go back. Every one of the staff were chatty and friendly, the cleaning staff found money under my bed and put in on top (they could have easily pocketed it and I wouldn't have known)
Review 39:The hotel room is horrible.. The room is dirty and musky.. The toilet door cannot lock.. The aircon leakage.. The room electicity will always trip everytime you try to boil water using the hotel kettle..
Review 40:The balinese traditional structure hotel..
Review 41:Wifi was absolutely terrible, bed was horrendous, the check-in was ridiculous, had to pay for the use of more towels, couldn't close window in bathroom meaning the room filled up with mozzies at night, our room was right near staff quarters meaning we were woken up at 5am by their "talking" (yelling). Booked this last minute and definitely was dissapointing
Review 42:The staff were decent and the overall location was nice
Review 43:The Indonesian breakfast options could be improved. Safety deposit box in room did not work. Linen in room were dated and almost frayed.
Review 44:Great location, nice pools (though we only tried one), good breakfast with many choices.
Review 45:The breakfast. Not catering to westerners much; catering to Malaysians or Indonesians much more. Could do with more variety, e.g. sausages, bacon, cooked tomatoes, mushrooms (English breakfast) instead of purely eggs and toast. And there was no filtered coffee; only Nescafe (too strong) and tea.
Review 46:We liked the location and the fact that this is one of the few truly Balinese-style hotels left. Lovely gardens and architecture.
Review 47:Personal is fake nice and gives wrong trip advisory. Also the hotel is really on their money, and does not value client satisfaction as much,
Review 48:The comfort of the room was in general okay.
Review 49:We were woken by the staff very early one morning. When we complained the manager didn't phone us back in the room. It was a real shame and poor customer services.
Review 50:The location is perfect if you want to explore Kuta and be near the beach. The swimming pools are really nice, big and quiet enough for a swim.
Review 51:We had rooms out the back and it was hard sleeping with the dogs barking all night. But we went budget on the rooms. Spend a little more and get a lot more.
Review 52:The pool facilities and location is a short walk to a large shopping complex and the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice.
Review 53:Two noisey early 50's Australian ladies in the room adjacent to us as we had the wooden interleading door who came home all hours and talking/laughing so loudly with TV playing loudly and using abusive language all the time. It spoilt the tranquility of a family hotel.
Review 54:Location was within walking distance to all facilities. Extremely friendly staff and clean. Good variety of breakfast. Very nice setting with the 2 swimming pools.
Review 55:Beer too expensive WiFi disconnects too often Cockroaches Bathroom in room 159 is huge (positive point), but space is wasted and no place to hang towels, etc.
Review 56:Breakfast Staff Nice, well kept facilities and grounds
Review 57:we had to enter the wifi pasword every time we were logging on the network (every hour). We found a small piece of plastic in one of the pizzas (only once) and the staff was really appologetic.
Review 58:the hotel's location is perfect especially for first time travellers in Bali. The staff is really friendly and efficient. The breakfast is amazing. the rooms are spacious, and the balcony is really nice.
Review 59:Thin walls, you can clearly hear neighbours. No vegetarian options for breakfast, though sometimes the nice Indian Chef will cook some on request.Pool usage timings not suitable as it is only till 8 pm. Horrible wifi as good as having none. Rooms need some maintenance. No bedside power points. They supply tiny bottles of mineral water.
Review 60:King size Bed, location. Free shuttle to kuta square and legian. Free television channels.
Review 61:The rooms are very old and the smell in the bathroom is terrible. We had towels with stains in it, even as are bedsheets! Staff at the counter is not friendly or helpful at all!
Review 62:The security at the front gate were always asking for money for beer and cigarettes, and the wifi dropped out regularly. Also whiskey at the bar was far too expensive.
Review 63:nice and close to the beach and great value for money
Review 64:I had an issue with the front desk trying to get more money out of me despite accepting my previously paid for hotel rate. It soured the experience and all for a few dollars. Free Wifi rarely worked in the room. Never got the daily free clean drinking water.
Review 65:Relatively cheap and close to the beach. The architecture of the hotel is beautiful. despite being old the room itself was nice and the aircon worked well. The food was okay but nothing special and I'd recommend going elsewhere to eat. The pool is one of the only one's I swam in, in Indonesia, where the chlorine didn't peel layers off your eyeballs.
Review 66:Hotel didn't want to collect us from the airport without a fee of $5per person although we booked with them. The hotel doesn't havevillas, the buildings are old and rooms have poor wifi or nothing attimes.Initially I booked 9 nights, by looking at the photos on theinternet on booking.com, I checked out after 3 nights, as my family wasvery uncomfortable. Breakfast not up to standard it was same thingeveryday..
Review 67:Location was good in Kuta, staff are friendly..
Review 68:Lovely, friendly staff! Right opposite the beach, also has back entrance open till 11pm that opens straight onto poppies lane 2. Also have great exchange rates so you can exchange money safely at the reception!! Clean, quiet and excellent value for money x
Review 69:Didn't like the two animals fighting in the ceiling above our bed at 12:00am...not pleasant to hear something die slowly. When we went to talk to the staff, 3 were working, 2 were helping a group of 4 checkin, and the other was counting money, we were told to wait. It took them 40 minutes to check the group in, and we were completely ignored by all 3 staff members. When we finally were talked to the staff said it wasn't thier fault and proceeded to blame eachother. They gave us a suite to stay in for the night, which had a broken toilet and dirty towels in the bathtub. Horrific customer service.
Review 70:The breakfast was decent
Review 71:I stayed in this hotel in a deluxe room across the road from Kuta Beach for a week. . Rooms are however in need of some serious attention - switches on bedside are largely non-functional, towels are very old and threadbare and the room was not as clean as it should have been. Bathroom was showing significant mould on the walls of the shower which I pointed out to housekeeping and showed them how to remove it. Thick dust on surfaces above eye level and on lampshades. Hot water was not great. Furnishings are old-fashioned and unappealing, particularly in the very dim lighting and door locks are similarly due for an upgrade. TV could not be operated unless the lights were also on and only limited channels were available. Wifi was also a bit spotty. Breakfast is a buffet and choices are adequate but the eggs tended to be overcooked or undercooked. I ate dinner in the restaurant twice, and again, sadly, proteins were horribly overcooked on both occasions.
Review 72:It was a good location and staff were friendly and welcoming
Review 73:For the standard rooms we have been experienced awesome refurbished rooms and at other times given one that was slightly run down. Overall for the price we still think it's an awesome deal
Review 74:Come here all the time. Strategic location and lovely atmosphere. Deluxe rooms are amazing for the little extra you pay highly recommended.
Review 75:We didn't realise how far it was from the boats leaving for kuta reef - so you need to walk really fast in the morning to catch an early one
Review 76:The location is great, close to beach, shops and restaurants
Review 77:Wina never dissappoint me..i travelled very often to Bali and very oftened I stayed here with my family.Clean Room and Friendly Staff. Great location too.
Review 78:The breakfast choice could be better, especially on the western side.
Review 79:Swimming pool was excellent. Staff were very helpful. Ideally placed for beach, bars and restaurants.
Review 80:for the first three days we had cold showers, then it was luck of the draw who would get a hot one from then on. It was a fair walk to get anything to eat and laundry service. If your like us, you want to walk out the hotel and have bars and resteraunts close by. The beach was close, just down the alley way, but even to get to a mimi mart it was a walk. We wouldn't stay again only for the lack of convenience for us, but for a basic hotel it was fine.
Review 81:Although we didn't use the pool it looked nice and the gardens were nice. It was close to beach
Review 82:There were no lifts and the stairs were very steep. Not a problem unless you have very young children or are elderly. The breakfast had a very limited selection, however, for the price was good.
Review 83:Excellent location. Lovely 'Balinese' feel about the place. Good, clean pool (if not a little over chlorinated - stung eyes and dried skin). Lovely staff, very friendly. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Mix of people, young and old, travellers and family holidays. Would definitely recommend this hotel - it's fantastic value for money. We had previously stayed at a 4 star hotel which was literally 5 times the price and I would choose Wina over that every time. Wish we had stayed here from the beginning!
Review 84:Pool water was cold (compared to 2 other hotels we stayed in during the same trip), no streaky pork bacon at breakfast (it seems they have now banned it).
Review 85:Lovely modern room (203), pretty pools with adequate seating
Review 86:WIFI was weak and unstable in the room.
Review 87:This budget hotel has everything you need: great location, not far from airport, several swimming poor, bar and restaurant, abundant TV channels, safe box, anything you can name in a luxury hotel. The best parts: 1, friendly and helpful staff, they smile and greet whenever they see you; we needed to call airport because our flight was cancelled, the staff at reception were patient and help us made several calls; 2. good location, two minutes to the beach and you can enjoy surfing on the Kuta beach.
Review 88:Room 121, to dark, flusher toilet many times sticking (so reservoir not filling-up), water temp. of bath not steady (sometimes hot, than cold again)
Review 89:The kindness of the staff, the rooms 140, 141 etc, The informal atmosphere
Review 90:The towels were not white and thread bare. Wifi was really poor. We were also required to make a Rp500,000 deposit. We didn't like it because it was our last day in Bali. We were planning to spend all the remaining rupiah we had.
Review 91:The location was great, located at the center of Kuta. Everything was within walking distance: the beach, the shopping district, the market, restaurants and the pubs. We also loved the breakfast buffet esp the sausages. Too bad we only stayed for a night.
Review 92:Small stuff: gym equipment is ageing and basic, some unsavory smells emanating from the bathroom.
Review 93:This was a well-priced hotel set amidst spacious and beautiful Balinese-style grounds in a quiet pocket of Kuta but minutes walk to the beach and all of Kuta's brash main thoroughfares. We were thinking of the Alam Kul Kul but this place was similar at less than half the price, and with room balconies, which Kul Kul didn't offer in the rooms we looked at. Breakfast was tasty buffet-style and there are so many places to kick back peacefully with a book or ipad. Guests were mostly families and couples, none of the more notorious Aussie Kuta crew.
Review 94:beds too hard to be comfortable, a strong smell in the room daily from the smokers in the next room.overall a good hotel and the one thing I would change is a more comfortable bed everything else is fine.
Review 95:location in kuta, good size rooms with balcony, everything located well within the grounds,2 pools, nice gardens, bar and dining located around the main pool. a nice hotel without the big price, the average family would like.
Review 96:Wifi in our room is poor but outside is good Mosquito are everywhere in terace at night Because the garden view i believe But the place are worth every penny
Review 97:Just accross the kuta beach 150 meter away Nice and antique decoration Staff are awesome Near to beachwalk mall, poppies lane and other activity in kuta area
Review 98:The location. Kuta is a really messy place. If the same hotel was somewhere else I would go again. Also, there seems to be some kind of religious background in the hotel, which is ok, but they should remember that they have all kinds of customers staying in their hotel. I mention that because on one occassion there was some kind of ceremony which lasted about 2 hours and it was very noisy and there were burning smells from their candles and everything. Not even an apology for all the noise. Not even did they care if someone was trying to sleep or rest in their vacation. Not even an update so we could plan our rest or simply choose to be outside while they want to conduct their ceremonies.
Review 99:Breakfast is great Pool area nice, clean room Friendly staff Good price Tours office at the lobby really helpful and cheap
Review 100:- There were not enough supplies like hair dryer machine and slippers. ( When we asked for slippers they refused to give it because they gave us a better room than we reserved. (By the way the reason to give us a better room was that they didn't reserved to one we booked online.) ) - Breakfast is needed to be improved. There are not much choice in the open buffet.
Review 101:- Smiling and helpful personel - Traditional architecture - Nereby downtown - Clean - Our bed and bathtube was full of rose patels for welcoming to the honeymoon couple.
Review 102:- WIFI is very weak and intermittent. - Stairs are steep and not very well located. Young children might fall easily.
Review 103:This hotel is a hidden gem right at the centre of Kuta. 5 mins walk to Poppies and Legian street from its back gate. 5 mins walk to Beachwalk shopping centre from its front gate. The beautiful beach is just across the street. Rooms are quiet and clean. Breakfast is good with changing menu everyday. Staff is very helpful and always greet me with a smile. There was some issues with the beds when I checked it but the staff solved it professionally.
Review 104:The bed little bit hard. I also can't get the same room when i want to extend my stay by two days more. So I need to pack all my stuff to my luggage and move to other room, even I have 8mo baby, 10yo and 6yo. They prefer give the rooms for others which are adult foreigners without children. I cancelled for the two night extend and only extend for one night since they didn't give me connected room. So hard for my 10yo and 6yo with little bit far distance from my room. The staff seem so clearly didn't try their best to give us win win solutions, even they try give 3rd floor. Maybe because I booked the hotel with more cheaper price from booking.com? If I don't have 8mo baby, I would change hotel that night than extend and sleep five of us in one bed with leaking aircond. The room number is 152 Be careful with slippery floor, too.
Review 105:Breakfast halal
Review 106:chef n staff was so friendly, selection of food good.
Review 107:i've been here with my mother but we got room at level 1.my mother was 60yrs old so she need to climb the stairs to the room which is not good for her knee.also i have one voucher stay there 50% disc for deluxe room but im not be inform that the voucher cant be use for internet booking.so my voucher useless. waste my money.much better i take superior room. water also taste something when i toothbrush
Review 108:The bad, musty, urine smell. Since the room was very clean I believe the smell was from old plumbing.
Review 109:This hotel was excellent in many ways. The restaurant food was really good. My only complaint was they bad smell in the room. The building that i stayed in wad old and need to be upgraded, but the place was comfortable and facilities were beautiful. They need to air out the rooms and use some airfreshener before putting a guest their.
Review 110:Location not so convenience. Need to walk about less than 10min to the main road. But depends on ur speed itself.
Review 111:Hotel environment , very rilex . Hotel serve Halal Food so it's great!
Review 112:Wifi is a little slow sometimes. Breakfast is not great.
Review 113:great location, 5 min walk to kuta beach. 10 walk to beach walk shopping mall, but the place is extremely quiet. 2 swimming pools. Big balcony. Room is big.
Review 114:Lagenda restoran - breakfast always same food
Review 115:Swimming pool 10/10 Services 10/10 Staff friendly 10/10 Room 8/10 (pls improve at toilet. Etc. shower & pipe)
Review 116:Old-school key, no RFID. Obsolete interior and bathroom i.e nostandard hairdryer, old furniture and doors
Review 117:Location. Albeit 500 m from Kuta beach. Traditional set up and interior. Friendly and responsive staff
Review 118:For the price & location I can't fault it.
Review 119:Great hotel. Although it's more of an old design the rooms were big and comfortable. Location so near to the beach was exactly what we wanted having to carry our surfboards to and fro. Breakfast was ok (only 60k rupiah), pool was great and we discovered another smaller pool with pool bar and also hotel had back exit easier to walk to Poppies area were all the entertainment was. For the price we were pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with this establishment. We are definitely coming back here every time we visit Kuta.
Review 120:Nothing
Review 121:Two pools available to swim in. Breakfast was included in room cost and consisted of a wide variety of foods and changed daily. Location is good, close to the beach but slightly off the main road so nice and quiet. Room was comfortable and clean.
Review 122:Breakfast limited choices, not delicious at all. Expensive items to buy in-house, better go buy at nearby minimart or alfa mart
Review 123:Malaysian-owned hotel chains really a muslim friendly hotel, with Majelis ugama indonesia certified halal food hotel certainly a great pick for muslims. Good pool. Hotel is beautiful.
Review 124:breakfast is very plain same thing everyday only moved round could be better.ok if you are a local.
Review 125:hotel is very close to beach and city center.and staf very good and helpful.
Review 126:When we checked into our room the AC was broken & they didn't want to give us a new room which was frustrating, but eventually they did
Review 127:Loved the breakfast, very close to the beach, we would most likely stay nearer to the south end next time
Review 128:The bathroom had a horrible smell coming from the drain
Review 129:In a busy location ok if you want to be in the thick of it or for quick and easy drive to the airport
Review 130:I felt uncomfortable because when a staff sent foods we ordered to the room, that staff was looking around at our belongings and even asked us what we have.
Review 131:It was not noisy despite being located in the middle of Kuta as it was hidden away from the main road. Yet still in the middle of Kuta and the beach is just 2 - 3 mins walk away.
Review 132:I have nothing bad to say about the place
Review 133:The accommodation was excellent value for money. The rooms were clean, staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was great very close to the beach yet it was quiet due to the fact it' has a long driveway
Review 134:Bali is horrible, the best way to get in touch with the Island is to look out of the window while departing . Everywhere you will be ripped off. The beach is so dirty!!! The Change is incorrect at any time. Everybody tries to sell drugs to you and 20 metres away the Police controls the tourits, then you have free yourself paying lots of Money to the Police and the drugs go back to the dealer..and the game stars anew......this is everywhere. Kuta is a dirty, loud, and every Tourist is a victim ......please stay away fro this island
Review 135:breakfast is quite okay staff is very friendly
Review 136:For me, the location was a bit far away from the main strip of legian. But I could still get there on foot easily enough.
Review 137:The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Loved the pool and bar. great place to relax and chill out!
Review 138:Very clean restort and large room. All staff very pleasant and helpfull24/7.Breakfast very good and timing too.Hotel situated in the centarbut not on main street, it takes max.2minutes to the main streen.Veryquite.All recomendation plus value for money BEST.Will come again 100%
Review 139:Wifi a bit patchy, but you don't go on holiday to use your phone. Didn't mind at all
Review 140:Good location, big room, awesome pool. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 141:The security. sleazy and made my friends feel very uncomfortable visiting the hotel. Considering it was my home for 10 days one would expect to be able to bring indo friends over without being interrogated. I had to meet them elsewhere.
Review 142:Old building, some basic renovation will help. Toilet basin had water logging, hand shower leaked and needed a fix.
Review 143:Location, Halal Breakfast, 3 swimming pools, inter connecting rooms for a family of 4. In Kuta, a very good option for people seeking halal food. Also near the beach, halal fast food options (Mcdonalds/KFC/Pizza Hut) within walking distance. Staff are helpful, sight seeing trips to Ubud/Tegallalan/Nusa Dua/ Kintamani/Tanah Lot available at affordable prices from hotel. Overall felt like a comfortable place for my family. If we return to Bali, would like to stay here again.
