Review 1：Beautiful hotel with a wonderful restaurant, the location in the quiet part of the island was wonderful and close to a beautiful coastal walk down to the lighthouse for swimming. The view form the room was exquisite and the swimming pool is excellent, very peaceful hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Review 5：I like that it's a family hotel and everyone did different kinds of jobs with a very happy attitude and friendly to hotel guests. Even Maria, the Ukrainian hotel room cleaner was very friendly. They sing while doing their job and have a sense of humor, esp Pasquale.

Review 6：The room could do with an update and the wifi was terrible. For some people wifi is not a big deal, but for others that have to work while on vacation it is important.

Review 13：It was unexpectedly far and required a shuttlrto pick us up from anacapri centre where we got to by taxi. We didn't know that an additional shuttle would be required or alternatively it can pick you up from the marina but you have to call. Also no wifi

Review 15：The location is disputable: a bit far from Anacapri center, even farther from Capri. But you can cover it by bus (1.80 Euro per person for 1 trip). Cell phone connection in the room was unstable, using free wi-fi was also unsucessful. We didn't like the fact that hotel's swimming pool was out of use, it's been filling, it wasn't reflecting on the hotel's site.

Review 16：We loved the manager, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beautifully furnished, we had a terrace with gorgeous view, the hotel has a transfer from the Major port of Capri (once a day) and from Anacapri city center.

Review 21：If you want to swimm in the see, it is not easy, one necessarily has to ask the help of the staff for transfer to the center of Anacapri, then take a bus or taxi to reach the beach. (Note: practically all the hotels on Capri have the same difficulty.)

Review 22：Unbelivable panorama, perfectly peaceful, place, just the sounds of the Nature can be heard. The room and the room service is excellent. However the hotel is 300 m above the see and far away from the center of Anacapri, the staff transfers the guests any time up and down, free of charge. Wonderful out door swimming pool.

Review 23：If I have to write something in this "negative" section,please note that It was all ok, not bad at all!!!Just the style of the rooms is a little old. The air conditioning has three levels of cold instead of temperature adjustment.

Review 51：I (and the rest of the group) could go on for days about this lovely hotel and the lovely people that manage it. We came here to get married, had the two of us a our families (6 others) in tow. We could not have asked for anything more. The staff was amazing. The owner of the hotel was incredibly accommodating and helpful. They opened up the restaurant so that we might have lunch on our first day, which was incredibly accommodating of them. They are so friendly, socialized with us, and even brought champagne up to our wedding site! The restaurant itself has an amazing view, delicious food, and house wine! They offer transportation to and from the main square in Anacapri, which was a huge help! We lost some baggage on our trip from the US and they had contacts and helped us make sure the luggage got to us in time for the wedding. The views are spectacular. The rooms were private enough, but still close to everything in the hotel. The pool was beautifully maintained and had the most beautiful view. If I could come back tomorrow, I would. There is no doubt that my husband and I will return. If you are looking for a place to stay that won't make you feel like a tourist, this is the place. Review 52：Rooms seem to be a secondary priority to the restaurant and farm. Ours felt musty and the bed was old and not comfortable.

Review 57：The Location is grandiose, away from the hussle. It is family owned and run, with wonderful food. It takes some 20 minutes on a lovely path to go to Anacapri. Yet there is always the possibility to ask the staff to be driven there.

Review 58：The pool wasnt ready for opening. The water was freezing and the pool bar area was closed too. A little disappointing as it said it opened 15 May when we arrived.

Review 59：We loved how remote da Gelsomina was. We wanted to be away from mass tourists. It is a pleasant 30 minute walking distance into Anacapri. Staff were brilliant and were able to provide taxi transport if needed. We ate at Gelsomina every evening and the food was outstanding. They also produce their own organic wine which is not for sale anywhere else. Its great stuff. We were looked after very well by the waiter Maximus. The sunsets were amazing and so were the breakfast omelettes. We hope to return in a couple of years. Dont be put off by it being remote. We had some great walks down to the Blue Grotto and the Punta Carena lighthouse.

Review 60：The best find in all of our years of travel. 10 is not high enough!!! The location, property, food, room, and owners(Pasquale&Gelsomina) are truly magnificent. This is the ultimate spot in all of Capri/Anacapri. We will return.

The hotel stays in a area near downtown of anacapri, they offer a shuttle service which is very useful, especially if you want to go to Capri. The best thing about it is the restaurant. Review 65：At the begining we preferred to stay outside Anacapri and Capri centers to avoid main tourist stream. So we have chosen Da Gelsomina. Honestly, we loved everything what we have found there. Review 77：It's actually restaurant with 5 rooms, so you don't feel like in a hotel. There is nobody at the reception, so you need to look for boys working at the swimming pool to ask for check in and any other questions like simple iron. Sometimes when they are busy you need to look long. Hotel is very old fashioned. Pricy for what it is.

Review 80：Pasquale and his staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. We were met at the port and driven to the hotel which is at Anacapri. The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the town of Anacapri, however they have a shuttle that takes you into and brings you back. There is a bus (or taxi) into Capri. They make fresh eggs and bacon for you at breakfast as well as the usual yoghurt, coffee etc. Our balcony looked across to Ischia - it was perfect. We ate at the restaurant 3 of the 5 nights - excellent. One thing, you need to book your sunbed each morning as the pool is open to everyone. Because there are quite a few people using the pool they have a bar and café for lunch and snacks which makes it good otherwise it would be too quiet as there are only a few guest rooms.

Review 81：Location is high up on the hillside and very narrow streets fromAnacapri. This is not a problem as hotel offers free shuttle at yourconvenience (they have 3 cars so frequent shuttles occur), but just beprepared it will take you 5-10 minutes with driving when you want tomove up and down from the center area.

From first to last, they helped us with pick-up from the ferry and with a cappucino when we arrived. The restaurant is amazing -- food from their own farm -- eggs from their own chickens, fresh vegetables, and the best rabbit and porcini mushroom dishes that we've ever had. Dessert was fabulous too. And their own homemade wine was wonderful. Someone drove us into town and would pick us up when we called. Except that the weather was lousy, we didn't want to leave! Review 90：Far, far above habitation in Anacapri, an adventure it will be, when the hotel’s on-call courtesy car and driver greet you at the port. You will be whisked up, dizzily, through Capri “town” itself, on up to Anacapri, and finally way, way up above all dwellings, to the unanticipated and unimaginable serenity awaiting you at the top of the island. If you are coming to Capri for the hustle and bustle of what you have heard about the island this may or might not be the place for you. If you want continuous excitement and superficial glamor stay in Capri itself. If you want to have a beautiful infinity pool and sweeping vistas, and to be surrounded by vineyards and rustic beauty, then this is the place. Stay here and let the driver deliver you to the daytime or night time action “down the mountain” in town. Come back up for the best cuisine on the island and the setting sun over Ischia. Once you arrive, you may not want to leave this idyllic spot. Friends stayed in Capri in June and mentioned that they discovered the best restaurant of their Italian trip. It was Da Gelsomina. Part of the hotel, this restaurant offers excellent food with incomparable day or nighttime views. Dine at sunset. You will remember it forever. Homemade pasta is served as well as their own wine, produced on the property. At breakfast the marmalade is homemade. The hotel staff are “family”, are super pleasant and available to assist at all times. There are only six or seven rooms available. They are not extravagant, but they do have wonderful terraces overlooking the Mediterranean with, again, incomparable views. This hotel is not about the rooms. It is about the fantastic setting, the pool, the ambience and the food. One downside is that Internet access, while advertised, is spotty. Perhaps that is a plus. Escape to Da Gelsomina and escape from the cares of the world. I highly recommend this top-of-the-world hotel.

Review 92：Our stay was wonderful from the moment Pasquale picked us up at 11:00 at night til are departure. The family and employees could not do enough for us, anything we needed was never too much trouble and always provided with a smile day or night. The food was "delicious" and much of the ingredience was grown on property. Loved our stay here and will definitely be back!

Review 93：it is a little remote. If you want a more central location to Anacapri or Capri there are other choices. They do a good job of picking you up and taking you to Anacapri whenever you want, but it still would be inconvenient for someone who wants something more central. We didn't mind, because it was still an unbelievable experience in their hotel/restaurant.

Review 97：After a poor start to the holidays in Ischia, we felt reassured about the reviews as soon as we got to Da Gelsomina. Nestled among the vineyards (try the house wine), it was so peaceful, airy and beautiful ! We got there around 1pm and immediately went to the restaurant to have lunch, which was delicious. We stayed five nights, ate all our meals in the restaurant as the food was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced for Capri (probably the best value for money on the island). Pasquale and his team are very professional, competent and with a light touch, everybody can feel at ease there. The restaurant was full every evening and cameras were working overtime when the sun went down next to Ischia. It was always a great mix of tourists (Italians as well as foreigners) and locals. Two of the great walks of Capri actually start on the doorstep of the restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Going down to Capri to do another walk from there and visit the town was fine but it was such a relief to come back to this quiet place and delicious meals in the evening.

Review 98：The location is way up the hill- a bit far away from anything. You canwalk about 20 min into Anticapri and then take the bus into Capri. Easyenough to do but this is not the place to go if you want to be in themiddle of the "scene".
