Reviews for Logues Lodge

Review 1:Very noisy at night, I was woken a few times by the sounds of what I think was the heating system starting up. Perhaps my room was beside the boiler. The hotel seems to be quite old and a little rough around the edges (old carpets etc)but it's got a rustic appeal.

Review 2:Cosy surroundings and friendly staff. I was served a lovely breakfast the following morning.

Review 3:We emailed ahead that we were arriving at Shannon at 6:00 a.m., and would apprecite it if they had a room ready early. They got us into a room as soon as we arrived. We were able to get rid of our jet lag, and be out touring after lunch. It was almost like getting an extra day of vacation.

Review 4:Hotel while it was clean it was rather dated and could do with a make over.

Review 5:Staff were warm and friendly. They went out of their way to meet our every need.

Review 6:Staff didn't want to take a table booking unless there were over 10 people. There were 6 of us eating together & even though we had 2 rooms taken in hotel they were reluctant to reserve table which is ridiculous.

Review 7:Food and service was excellent

Review 8:Poor breakfast and service very slow. No lift so avoid upper floors with heavy bags.

Review 9:Good location and pleasant staff. Good music in the pub. It's basically a decent pub inn.

Review 10:Unfortunately while the breakfast is good it is very slow, e.g. 20 mins for scrambled egg. I was attending a course so wanted a quicker service. The car park is really tight.

Review 11:Our room had been recently refurbished and had a really comfy bed and a spacious ensuite. The breakfast selection was good

Review 12:Toilets in the restaraunt were not cleaned, sanitary items over flowing, no soap. Pillows were terrible, no ventilation in bathroom, You could see into the rooms across the kitchen (?) roof

Review 13:Great breakfast, large servings, we ate dinner there every night and the food was great, staff were all so helpful. Location was great for our travels as a central western location. New towels left daily at our door with do not disturb sign :)

Review 14:We did not eat here in the evening because they did not have a table for us and it was very busy. Another nearby hotel/bar was easily found for dinner. Bedroom outlook was onto more hotel rooms, I doubt if any rooms had what is usually described as a view. Constant noise from cooling plant outside was initially disappointing, however it did not actually disturb us in any way, and we slept well.

Review 15:Good base for walking and sightseeing or equally well suited to an overnight stop on the West Atlantic Coastal route. Parking at rear of property through entrance gates feels quite secure although full at times. Very good breakfast buffet and full Irish cooked to order all served in the pleasant restaurant. Our bedroom had all requirements and was of reasonable size. Nice bathroom with particularly good shower.

Review 16:No chair or small table in bedroom .. Shower very dated .. Windows very grubby .. Vibration noise from kitchen .. No bar open in hotel after 12.30 on bank holiday weekend ...

Review 17:Staff helpful & friendly ...

Review 18:There was parking to rear but it was difficult to access , would be better if it was reserved for overnight customers

Review 19:Great location to explore the burren and do olio, nice town with trad music and good food

Review 20:The place could do with a good clean and refurb. Toilet seat cover was broken. Bathroom not cleaned properly.

Review 21:Very handy location. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 22:Carpet in room stained. Breakfast was adequate but served by really friendly girls.

Review 23:Loved the rooms, while small, sheets smelled and looked top quality and towels beautiful.

Review 24:The hotel needs a face lift and the smell in the bar of a dirty mop while eating breakfast was not very good.

Review 25:The hotel is located in the village of Ballyvaughan, surrounded by the lime stone hills of the Burren. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, but very dated. The Staff were helpful, breakfast was only okay, served in the bar which smelt of a dirty mop, very off putting.

Review 26:Wifi signal was poor in our bedroom, very slow connection when it did connect but wifi connection was good downstairs in restaurant and bar.

Review 27:Great food in the restaurant, nice warm feeling in the bar! Turf fire is nice! Staff very friendly!

Review 30:The only thing was the bed was a little soft but we still enjoyed our stay

Review 31:We liked the parking and the hassle free check in and out staff friendly food good breakfast fresh and pochard eggs just the way we like them.

Review 32:Room quite small, not much room to manouvre. This would particular be an issue in case of an extended stay. The background music during breakfast (radio 'poppy' music).

Review 33:Staff was helpful and friendly. Bar / entrance welcoming atmosphere. Noisy disturbance on the corridor in the middle of the night, was dealt with firm and decisive.

Review 34:Duvet on bed was too warm, even though it was January!! I like the option of lighter bedclothes.

Review 35:Liked the general appearance of the guesthouse. Friendly Staff. Evening meal was excellent. Liked that you could buy a really nice wine by the glass.

Review 36:Little bit out of the way.

Review 37:The staff were helpful & prompt, food was great, dinner & breakfast- no shortage, good value. Lovely room with big shower.

Review 38:There was a disco on two of the three nights that we stayed there. The second night (Sunday) the music was manic, garage, headbanging stuff that finished at 2am. Then the punters continued singing and shouting. The tables and chairs that were taken off the dance floor around 9pm, were loudly put back in place for the breakfast. This was 3am and then a heavy dishewasher or some machine was switched on at 3:15am, at this stage my wife went downstairs in her pj's to complain to Ciaran, he apologised. But we had lost two nights of three sleep. They comped our dinner and drinks for that evening on check out. We explained that we were not looking for a discount and we would have preferred the sleep.

Review 39:Logues was great value for money, great staff, good food, central and clean.

Review 40:From the first to the last minute the treatment was excellent..Very comfortable rooms with smashing decor..Bar and restaurant had great character. .Food was top notch..

Review 41:Burren area is ruggedly beautiful and full of historical sites. People here are remarkably friendly. Sincere connection with nature. Irish music and magic live in Western Ireland! Logue's Lodge is a great place to begin your adventure.

Review 42:We didn't care for the breakfast being served in the middle of the pub while they seemed to be cleaning from the night before. They walked past us with garbage from the restrooms and cleaning supplies. They have a very pleasant area closer to the front that would have been much more comfortable and out of the way of the staff and their cleaning. Also the music was way too loud and was bar music first thing in the morning...not exactly the way I like to wake up. Over all the breakfast was good just need to work on their presentation.

Review 43:We found the room to be very cozy and the bed to be quite comfortable. We liked that we got a room on the front side of the building as it had a view of the street while we noticed that the rest of the rooms didn't appear to have pleasant views.

Review 44:The carpets in the bedrooms were a bit smelly, and there was a dog in the room next door.

Review 45:The lovely staff, the cosy atmosphere, the food was really brilliant, fabulous Irish coffee, relaxed and just lovely

Review 46:Restaurant service a bit slipshod. Waitress got two items in our breakfast order wrong. Not a big deal though. The car park is small and we could not get a space on two of our three nights. Some of the cars parked in the car park were obviously staff cars as a member of staff was sitting in one of the cars. This is not acceptable. Furthermore one of the exits/entrances to the car park was permanently blocked by cars.

Review 47:Nice atmosphere and get the impression that it is part of the social fabric of the town. It is a relaxing place with good food and drink. It is well worth a visit.

Review 48:One thing only we were at the front, and there was some traffic in the morning, we e early

Review 49:The hotel is beautiful in all its dicor, the food is fab, the samon is 2 die for and the menue it self is fab, great value and lovely people what more could u ask for, the place is a little bit of heaven.

Review 50:The mattress was too hard. The acoustic could be improved.

Review 51:The food was top. Really fresh ingredients and really tasty. The service was very good, everyone was really nice to us. Perfect location to follow the wild atlantic way all the way through Clare's coast.

Review 52:There are better places to eat just outside of Ballyvaughn but pub food is ok if you like that and no shortage of great drinks

Review 53:The staff Our Room The town The Burren, the bay, the walks

Review 54:A little overpriced comparing it with some of the other places we stayed

Review 55:Our welcome was excellent, the staff are lovely, spotlessly clean. good breakfast.

Review 56:Nothing!

Review 57:Extremely quaint lodge with very friendly and hospitable staff. Breakfast was delicious. Ballyvaughan is lovely and we enjoyed the closeness of a few nice restaurants and pubs and the close proximity of other activities. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Review 58:My room was very basic. The bathroom was very stuffy. The selection of cereals and yogurts at breakfast was poor. The pictures on the website were misleading because in reality the entire place felt in need of a makeover.
