Reviews for Bed & Breakfast Antico
Review 1:They need to improve their instructions on where to park your car and how to get to their place. If you ask, they will pick you up at the parking spot.
Review 2:We loved the beauty of this very old home, in an amazing beautiful medieval village. Also, the hosts were extremely kind in helping us settle into our room and taking care of us.
Review 3:Property hard to find (it's behind the church, take path to right of church.) Beds are quite small. Wifi only in reception. Shower curtain needs changing.
Review 4:Host was very friendly and helpful. We drove our car to the village as we thought the property came with parking but that wasn't correct. The host allowed us to leave the car there and guided us back down in the morning. Lovely breakfast.
Review 5:wonderful secluded place in the middle of the old town, just few rooms, - right next to bell tower (fortunately it does not ring:) wonderful staff, maybe simple breakfast at first look, but then you realize there is everything you need - although I would suggest to do something with the quality of coffee be prepared to leave car on parking lot outside of the oldtown (in front of the gate) - dont worry owners will come to pick you up with car and drive you to the BaB, and also when you leave, we found it interesting and also as a small advanture, and then I was quite thankfull that i didnt have to drive that road by my car (take this info just as N.B.)
Review 6:We loved Antico. Sandra our host helped us to park right up the hill just below our apartment. Offered us refreshments on arrival and spoke English really well. Our apartment was amazing, huge and air conditioned and we were right in the square next to the church and tower. Breakfast was awesome.
Review 7:Wi-fi didn't reach up to any of our rooms, only in the reception and breakfast area.
Review 8:Very helpful and friendly staff, nice building and location, we enjoyed ourselves very much.
Review 9:The location of Bed & Breakfast Antico could not be better, steps from the main square and literally next door to the tower. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Eating breakfast in the little courtyard next to the tower was a highlight of our trip.
Review 10:our room was charming with old stone walls and beautiful views - across the valley and to the bell tower. It was quiet and peaceful. Sandra and Tomas were hard working hosts who made our stay enjoyable, providing local wine and grappa for evening tasting and of course driving us and our bags up and the back down the hill! Easy access to the Paranzena trail for biking or walking.
Review 11:The wifi only barely reaches the top floor and the breakfast is very basic.
Review 12:The location is in the middle of the upper old town of Motovun, just a few steps from the market place and a few more to the city wall that gives a spectacular view of the surrounding country. Nice hosts and a good value for the money.
Review 13:Cannot park anywhere near the facility, but that is inescapable given the location. The room was a bit dark owing to the small windows, but that too is inescapable given the antiquity and character of the building.
Review 14:Location smack in the middle of the old town, with wonderful views, and a strong feeling of history. The owner is a craftsman who started with an ancient ruin of a building, with only the old stone walls standing, no roof or floors, and has personally reconstructed it with authenticity and love. The owner is willing to chat with you over a glass of wine, and he is an interesting person (as are many of the guests too).
Review 15:The comfort and cosiness of the common spaces and the room. It is in the perfect location at the top of the hill. Our hosts were welcoming and funny and charming. Breakfast was great and Motovun is such a beautiful base from which to explore the area. We felt very much at home.
Review 16:The owner checked us in quickly and gave us a choice of 2 rooms plus offered complimentary refreshments! The breakfast was ample and delicious! Loved the outdoor patio!
Review 17:Motovun is very crowded with tourists in summer -- though the bulk of them are day trippers. But I think the place would be extra special in the off season.
Review 18:The fact that there was no wifi in our room was actually a good thing -- it brought us down to the common area, where we got to know host Tomas, who told us he was "born on the other side of this wall." He answered all our questions thoughtfully (and with sadness when we asked about the war in the 1990s). The rooms are in a 400-year-old building attached to the bell tower at the tiptop of the hilltop village, a few steps from the square and the ramparts walk around the village. Tomas filled us in on truffle hunting with dogs (his passion), the renovation of the hilltop villages, and what winter is like in Motovun ("the best time"). His wife is super nice as well, and her father made the complimentary liqueurs. The rooms are simple but tasteful, and having Tomas drive you from the parking area up steep, narrow cobbled streets through the stone Venetian gates in the ancient walls is a memorable experience.
Review 19:Situated right in the old town. Had an apartment which gave us a lot of room and had great views. Got picked up at bottom of town so saved a fairly steep walk and dropped off at end of stay. A very good host
Review 20:Minimal drawback is wifi is good in common area but does not reach all rooms.
Review 21:I liked everything. Large rooms, friendly welcoming host, and location are great
Review 22:Charming place with fantastic location. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very nice and picked us up with the car and assisted with our luggage. We arrived late but they arranged a late check in and offered us a welcome drink. Highly recommended!
Review 23:Very weak (or rather none) wifi signal, but we had the room in the attic. Average amenities - no tv (not a problem for us, but might be worth mentioning), hair drier (but we didn't ask if available), no lift and tight staircase (owner did help with the luggage on the way up though). Payment in cash only.
Review 24:Beautiful location, right at the top of Motovun city. Access a bit hard by car (very cobbly road, steep hill, tight city gates) - but no problem with the owner picking us and our luggage up and dropping off at the parking lower in the town with his car. Very friendly and open couple run the B&B - we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of local wine (red/white/rose to choose from) and homemade grappa / cherry liquer were always available for the guests downstairs. Simple, but good breakfast (bread, cheese, meats, cereals, milk, yogurt, croissants etc). Clean rooms / general areas.
Review 25:the weather that spoiled the flowers in the town! Neve
Review 26:everything- most kind and helpful hosts- their hospitality make you feel as their home-family guest. It would be a pleasure to be there again. Excellent breakfast-to any taste.
Review 27:Only some very minor details: - just one wall outlet (in an otherwise large and comfortable double-bed room) - light switch not reachable from bed, and no lamp at the bedside (no wall outlet, so no lamp)
Review 28:Excellent location, very friendly staff, fine breakfast, very cosy and home-like atmosphere, overall a great place to stay at
Review 29:Fantastic location in an idyllic town

Review 36:None
Review 37:bad wifi connection, but there's free wi-fi in the squares (just near the hostel) so I was OK.
Review 38:located right behind the bell tower. (free pick-up from bottom of the hill) clean room and facilities. free towels. very warm, kind host! quite good breakfast with low price.
Review 39:Location is good as it is right in Motovun, we went at the very end of season (mid October) so there was not much happening aside from some truffle festivals in nearby towns. Staff is friendly and helpful and it is a family run operation.
Review 40:Cannot reach hostel with a car, so you need take a bags by walking around 200 m.
Review 41:Everything. Hotel is well positioned with very nice view, clean, good wi-fi signal, staff is very kind and helpfull. Braekfest is ok, feeling that you have it at home.
Review 42:friendly staff with a lot of positive energy location on the main square inside the walls of the castle on the hill good combination of natural materials in a renovated old house separate terrace shaded by city tower
Review 43:We stayed at the quadro room. It was a bit hot without air condition. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to stay.
Review 44:The hostel is in a nice location in Motovun. From there we can see the town very well. The host was nice and helped us a lot. The beds are comfy and rooms are clean. The breakfast was perfect too! we tasted nice Croatian sausage and nice bread :)
Review 45:Most everything, nice friendly staff, quiet, good brekfasst, godd wi-fi signal, so if we came araund, we will stay there.
