Reviews for Epavlis Meteora Suites Hotel
Review 1:Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean, great location and view of Meteora. Only recommendation I would have is that pick up / drop of service is providing on arrival and departure from Meteora as property is located on top of steep unsealed road and so is difficult to bring luggage on foot as we did. However, the owners advised that it would have been no problem to call and arrange pick up.
Review 2:Epavlis is a brand new place, maybe not the closest one to the city center, but very confortable. Best thing is their staff, charming and professional, we had a very good time with them. Also breakfast was really nice, even we had our last one before regular schedule, as we were living so soon in the morning. Thank you guys!!
Review 3:Maria and Spiro are the nicest people we've met on our two weeks trip through all of Greece with our two girls , the whole family makes you feel like you are in their home, the room was amazing , the breakfast delicious. The location was great, the view from my room was breathtaking , we walked right out of the place for a full day of hiking up the mountains just like I imagined my trip would be. Dinner on the grill was perfect. Mostly, we had a feeling we want to stay more ....
Review 4:Pleasant homely welome. Very friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast with freshly made bougatsa. We received help with planing our visit absolutely perfect advice. Nice quiet location within walking distance to town. We stayed with two families (four adults and five kids aged 2 to 10 years) they were very accommodating we never felt the kids were in the way. Fantastic view from every window including the toilet!
Review 5:No kettle or pots to boil water for tea/coffee.
Review 6:Very good advice and map given for hike to monasteries. Excellent breakfast, accommodation spacious.
Review 7:It's not easy to find this hotel. Also it locates quite far from the any restaurants and it is on the steep hill. Mattress is horrible, you feel as if you're sitting but not lying The light in the room is very dim, impossible to read Breakfast is quite good, we even had a handmake cake. But you have to ask any additional cap of tea or coffee Some disgusting smell at bathroom
Review 8:Location is good because the Meteora view, Staff is helpfull and explanes everything WiFi is steady and fast
Review 9:The decor is of a particular taste but the overall comfort of the room makes up for it.
Review 10:The bed was super comfy. The views were lovely from the garden.
Review 11:The road to the property is rocky. It's fine the second day but we had to be careful driving there with a low car.
Review 12:We loved the view from our bed !! We could see the meteora pinnacles lying on the bed! Best view ever! The BBQ was awesome! We recommend it highly! Great food great price!
Review 13:Staying at this family created and operated hotel was the highlight of our 3 week, 2,700K sojourn in Greece. The facilities were spacious and the views beyond description. Most remarkable was the attentiveness of the proprietors who actually grilled and served us dinner on their beautiful courtyard! We will definitely return!
Review 14:The location is problematic - there's no paved route and in the evenings it's not easy to find your way back to the hotel. The gallery is inconvenient for adults (for kids it's OK). The TV did not work there. In value for money experience, I am not convinced the price is fair.
Review 15:The hospitality of the owners and the home made pies for breakfast (a must!). The view from the balcony is extraordinary.
Review 16:The room was extra comfortable, large, clean and spacious!! Perfect for winter holidays since it has fireplace!! The staff was very friendly, discrete and helpful. The decoration of the hotel was very elegant. Each room has its own style. They, also, provide an outdoor BBQ for the residents in their lovely garden with the view of meteora.
Review 17:The Wifi was very unreliable. Depending on your perspective you may find this hotel too far from town - about 15 min walk. It was fine with us. Self catering is limited.
Review 18:Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were clean and tastefully fitted. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. The views are just magical especially sitting on the balcony overlooking the valley and Meteora.
Review 19:The location of the hotel is just great! Not only it gives a marvelous Meteora view but the whole Kalambaka town as well. The place is on the outskirts, therefore it is very peaceful and quiet. Anyway, you can reach the central street with all the cafes and tavernas within 5 minutes on foot. The host is very hospitable and pleasant. Even though we left at 5 AM we were served with tasty breakfast and taken to the railway station by car. The hotel is highly recommended to everyone who visits Meteora!
Review 20:The hotel was much further out of town than expected - a taxi ride rather than walk. The room had a fridge but nothing was provided in it.
Review 21:The views were lovely and the hosts very friendly and helpful.
Review 22:The wifi was only accessible in certain places and not at all in the room.
Review 23:Perfect location for exploring Meteora. The hosts are very welcoming and give lots of useful local sightseeing information.
Review 24:The bathroom access isn't too comfortable as it is located in the entrance of the room where the is a tiny hallway
Review 25:Great hosts, lovely view and a beautiful landscape. Very quite
Review 26:Firstly, it took us over half an hour to find the place. The address does not appear on the GPS and the GPS co-ordinates that appear on booking.com are simply wrong. They take you to a completely different place. Secondly, the room was very un-appealing and compared to other places we stayed on our trip to Greece it was not good value for money. The other really annoying thing was that there was no wifi in our room. We had to walk towards the main building (our room was not in the main building) in order to get a wifi connection. The breakfast too was not up to the standard of the other hotels we stayed in on our visit to Greece.
Review 27:Amazing family Maria and she's husband. Warm atmosphere ... Good building with garden and fireplace for barbecue ... Great location for trail acces ...
Review 28:Pretty and spacious room with excellent views of Meteora from the balcony and from the room. The young couple who run the place were very welcoming and freindly, and made us feel at home. Breakfast includes home made pies - delicious.
Review 29:The dirty sheets , the lack of kitchen utilities, the poor breakfast and the steep road.Difficult access.Too expensive for what it offers. No wifi in the room.
Review 30:The room, the bed and the view.
Review 31:weak wifi in some rooms, staff was very polite and helpful but not available sometimes especially at evening hours
Review 32:the rooms were very nice, good facilities, excellent view
Review 33:Stronger WiFi would be better. Difficult to pull you baggage to the train station as you have to travel on about 5 minutes of pebble and sandy road.
Review 34:Comfortable, clean and value for money hotel. Extremely helpful host who introduces excellent resturant and serves as a guide in hiking. He also transportation from Athens to the hotel and tour in Meteora by introduces the "Metora Tour", a travel agency although is cheaper but provide excellent transport and guiding services.
Review 35:The location is great. The rooms are well decorated and equiped, traditional breakfast is very good. the owner is very nice and instruct us what to do and where to go.
Review 36:Wifi is very weak. I could not connect from the room.
Review 37:Owner of the Hotel was very kind. Family room was spacious and offers wonderful Meteora view. Hotel offers excellent breakfast with lots of choices even though we were the only guest.
Review 38:Although there were kitchen cupboards in rooms, there was no facilities to have snacks, make coffee in, so had to go to dining room for coffee. Only 1 table and 1 chair between 2 balconies so couldn't sit outside to enjoy the view.
Review 39:Large rooms, beautiful view, hosts very accommodating and helpful. Decor of rooms and breakfast area warm and inviting.
Review 40:Noisy because room close from the breakfast area and light in the room from the sunrise ! The curtain didn t stop the light
Review 41:Location and friendly owner, really nice view from the balcony of the Meteore Nice design
Review 42:Pretty and clean (family) hotel, with very generous rooms. Great view on one of the monasteries, close to city center. Our hosts were among the, if not the nicest people we met in Greece, helpful, kind, made our visit perfect!
Review 43:Loved everything, perfection....
Review 44:Amazing property in prime location, excellent views of Meteora. Lovely setting, every need met and exceeded!!! This is the best small hotel you will ever find in Greece. GREAT FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED Kudos to Spiro and Mary!!!
Review 45:Hotel is situated far from Kalambaka town centre (but the hosts offer help to pick-up on their car from and to the town).
Review 46:Wonderful room with lovely furniture and fireplace. Balcony with the view to Meteora. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Good breakfasts. The hostess prepared the breakfast specially for us earlier by our request. And they kept the room for us 2 hours more after check-out time because we were on Meteora tour.
Review 47:The only negative I could find is the very steep non-asphalt road that you need to walk in order to reach the hotel from the city. It can be an issue but for us it was really minor and the owners drove us to/from the city most of the times. Else than that, it is absolutely perfect!
Review 48:Excellent hotel with amazing hosts in a beautiful city! Very big and comfortable room, great decoration in the room as well as the common areas, offering to the traveller the essence of a "house" rather than a hotel room. Big bathroom, very clean, huge bed, fireplace (that we didn't use because it was summer) and 2 balconies with spectacular view of the rocks. The breakfast had quite some choices, all of them very tasty, especially the homemade pies. Last but not least, there are no words to describe the owners/hosts! They welcomed us to the city, suggested various things to visit, provided us with detailed info about buses/taxis/restaurants/sights and helped us plan the routes in order to make the most of our limited time in Kalambaka. Finally, they picked us up from the bus stop with the car (which was very much appreciated), drove us there also for the way back and gave us couple of lifts to the city as well. It was one of the best travelling experiences ever!
Review 49:If you're scaredy cat, maybe you would be better at Kalambaka's main street, the Hotel is at town's outskirts, in the foot of Agios Stefanos monastery rock.
Review 50:Spiros is the most helpful and kind host I've ever met, made us feel like home (or even better). He will help you to discover all Meteora's charms and more. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed is so confortable you will get sleep in a few seconds. Great starting point to visit Meteora's monasteries, with wonderful views (even at night). Quiet place without any disturbing sounds at night. 15 minutes by walking (uphill and downhill) to Kalambaka's center town.
Review 51:Breakfast is all homemade, but I not much vegetables a bit poor. The stairs to the children room are stip, so basically our children could not sleep there.
Review 52:The place is very nice, the view is great. Shower is good, the bad comftible.
Review 53:bad road to the hotel, on the outskirts of town, internet working only around reception, sleeping for children in family room in small attic.
Review 54:room has a view to Meteora
Review 55:-Decent breakfast, but the variety should be better for this price range -WiFi quality should be better
Review 56:-Quiet location with excellent view -Beautifully arranged garden -Comfy rooms -Very kind and helpful hosts and staff -Quite good lunch&dinner available in hotel for a very fair price
Review 57:You definitely need a car because it is quite far away from the center (5 min by car)
Review 58:Friendly staff, clean and new rooms, good breakfast...good view on the meteora. He also came by car to pick us up because we were not able to find the place
Review 59:The house is hard to find - I would suggest emailing the owners ahead of time for exact directions.
Review 60:What an amazing place!!!! My group booked two rooms at Epavlis and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The view is incredible and the owners are so nice. They hosted a barbecue for the guests one evening and made the most delicious meal. They also gave us a map and plenty of advice on the best route to the monasteries and other places to visit/eat in town. The rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again!
Review 61:Perfect location, perfect service, spacious and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful view to Meteora

Review 65:hard to get to
Review 66:nice hospitalty. view of meteora.
Review 67:Wonderfull hospitality of the owners, large rooms, beutifull view of Meteora cliffs, good breakfast
Review 68:A vert bloc hôtel for this privé Just n'est météorà thé boss an bis site are both vert Nice tanks à gain Philippe fromage france
Review 69:Wrong GPS coordinates of the hotel at Booking.com
Review 70:Fantastic view from the balcony. Very quiet place. Fireplace in the room.
Review 71:No coffee/tea making facilities
Review 72:Very spacious room, comfortable bed and good toilet facilities
Review 73:Quality, a place to go. Owners try that you feel at your own home
Review 74:Thanks to the owner Mr. Spiros who went out of his way to make us feel at home.
Review 75:Service was not availabe all day
Review 76:Great location and view Luxurious bed and room with fireplace
Review 77:nothing
Review 78:everything was nice, big rooms, directly Close to meteora rocks, very friendly staff ;), excellent breakfast,
Review 79:The view from the bes was magical! Greeted by Meteora. Mary most kind. Lovely spacious room. Was a lovely choice for spending a special birthday.
Review 80:Second floor very very basic and dangerous for young children.
Review 81:Scenery, breakfast, first floor of the room
Review 82:Weak Wifi signal
Review 83:Very kind
Review 84:Nothing to dislike, really.
Review 85:Amasing hospitality!
Review 86:Not very easy access, street under construction.
Review 87:Friendly staff which are also the owners, nice and large cozy rooms.
Review 88:1. map location in booking.com is incorrect - in fact, the hotel is located one block towards the village center 2. the road is very steep and is not of good quality. it is better to drive around the church
Review 89:1. excellent room and facilities 2, very good breakfast 3. nice owners 4. great view
Review 90:‘Room for four’ is actually room for two! It is organized as one nice room with double-bad and a loft. Common ladder leads from the room to the loft. The loft is practically without a window. There is one window that cannot be open and it is darkened with styrofoam. Beds on the loft are two mattresses placed directly on the floor. Bathroom is outdated and needs a complete restoration – sink is cracked and shower is old and dysfunctional. Balcony has a beautiful view but its floor is covered with bird droppings. It has a table with two chairs; one chair is broken.
Review 91:Beautiful view on Meteora! Garden is nice and parking place is good. Parking is not by the road like others in Meteora’s area. Breakfast is good with some of traditional meals. It is served in beautifull dining room. Owner and lady who serves breakfast are friendly and helpful.
Review 92:I thought it was self catering but this was a little difficult with no cups, plates or cutlery. Our shower hose was broken but we kept forgetting to report it to owners, im sure if we had it would have been fixed quickly.
Review 93:The room was large, clean with super comfy bed. Host was lovely, very friendly and breakfast was tasty. Views from balcony were beautiful.
Review 94:it's little bit diffcult to take a heavy luggage up to the path by foot from train station.
Review 95:Room is big and comfortable. Staff are kind and helpful. Yummy breakfast with a wonderful garden view. it is a very nice place to stay if you were driving to there. Love it very much.
Review 96:The massage shower didn't work well, water "stream" was weak, the water not hot enough. Although there is a kitchen in the apartment description actually there is no place to eat and not kitchenware. We were forced to eat in the breakfast.room. wi fi unstable.
Review 97:The hotel is beautiful - modern, stylish and extremely spotless. Nice view facing the Meteora monasteries The staff was very helpful and breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 98:Nothing - everything was perfect.
Review 99:The owners were extremely kind and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that we had all that we needed and our stay there was as comfortable as possible, providing us with all the information that we needed on the various monasteries and other places to visit nearby. Breakfast was excellent, with a good amount of choice and numerous home-made items such as pastries, pies, cookies and jams. They catered for our children's preference of chocolate milk (both hot and cold) and when my wife asked for chamomile tea, the hosts brought some of their own from home as none was available in the hotel's dining room at the time. Everything in the room was of high quality, including the beds and the bedding. In addition to a sink, fridge, fireplace and television, there was a stereo in the room for listening to music which we felt added to the ambiance of the room. The hotel's location is amazing - overlooking Kalambaka and with views of the Meteora rocks straight out of the bedroom and dining room windows. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel highly to anyone visiting Meteora.
Review 100:The hotel is clean, well positioned and the host is friendly. The room (deluxe suite) was very nice and everything inside at the top of our expectation. Ideal for rest, easy access (short walk) to the taverns. We strongly recommend it.
Review 101:Very nice place for a short stay.Location is great.Spiros and Mary are kind hosts - ready to help 24/24.Magnificent view to Meteora and around. Thank you for your hospitality.
Review 102:We are a couple who was traveling with our adult daughter. This boutiquehotel fit our needs perfectly with a room that provided a separate, private sleeping area in a loft for our daughter. It is in a greatlocation and is very clean. We arrived in the darkness of evening, andwere greeted by a stunning view from our balcony the next morning of St.Stephen's monastery on top of the hill directly above the hotel. Thehosts are very warm and anxious to please guests. The breakfast providedwas lovely with many homemade items, and the host lit a cozy fire in thebreakfast area for us to enjoy while we ate. As a side note, I left myjacket at the hotel and after returning to the U.S., I emailed the hoteland they promptly gave me the rates and mailed my jacket back to me bymy choice of carrier. Absolutely lovely people!
Review 103:This hotel is just magnificent! The view is outstanding! The staff is so nice... Rooms are clean and cozy. Very good breakfast. Easy to get to Meteoras. Big supermarket in 10 min walking. Very quiet and peaceful place...
Review 104:Internet was a bit slow at times.
Review 105:Great hosts- friendly and helpful. Amazing homemade, fresh breakfast! Incredible views of Meteora from balcony. Loved being outside the city a bit to enjoy the views and peacefulness.
Review 106:Not easy to find... It is new area of Kalampaka, no pointers, no apshalt - I hope everything will be done soon
Review 107:1) Family management. 2) super view. 3) very silent and comfort place.
Review 108:1. Only a minor issue is the bumpy, sandy and steep road you have to take to reach the hotel.
Review 109:1. The owners are a very kind couple that give you all the necessary info and tips for your stay and trips in Meteora (make sure to try the Meteora restaurant in the town center) 2. Only about 7 or 8 rooms which makes it very cosy and possibly the nearest location possible to the Meteora monasteries. 3. Good breakfast included with local stuff and from time to time the owners offer a BBQ-possibility in the evening. 4. Rooms are clean and spacious enough with a fridge and bathroom with shower and if you have small kids they can stay in the attic-room in the same room.
Review 110:The owner were really helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and with moderna furniture. I like the hotel location because it is near the city centre but in a calm and peaceful pleace nearby Meteora's rocks. If you want to visit this área I hardly recommend this hotel
Review 111:facility in bad shape! pictures misleading... the dorr handle was completely loose so you couldnt open/close it without the key. the shower was actually broke! the massage shower didnt work, water "stream" was like tear drops, the handle was broke to... there were three families and in the morning when we came for breakfast the salad "was finished"... we had refund but it was worthless...
Review 112:nice view facing the meteora monastries
Review 113:The road to get to the hotel is a bit rough on the car, but I don't think this is the hotels fault at all, just a warning to be ready for a rough ride!
Review 114:We booked a family suite as we were four people and the spaciousness was worth the little extra we had to pay. The view of Meteora from the balcony was unbelievable! We felt very welcomed by all the staff who went out of their way to come and find us when we had trouble finding the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful, and had foods appropriate for those who were fasting (as this was Holy Week) and for those who were not. It is always the little touches that make a good hotel an excellent one and Epavlis Suites is clearly interested in those little touches. I will definitely stay here again.
Review 115:Due to our late reservation (2 days before arrival) and full booking in the hotel, we had room on 1st floor next to reception. Was a bit noisy in the morning but it didn't changed our general impression.
Review 116:Great location.Clean hotel with very attentive staff. Good breakfast. Room was big, with fire place, kitchen, nice balconly and excellent view on Meteora Mountains. All necessary cosmetics in bathroom. I work in tourism, so can recommend this place to others.
Review 117:We had 3 days available, to visit Meteora and the area around (Kastraki, Trikala, Plastira Lake etc.). Epavlis Suites Hotel was the best choice we made during our trip! It is so close to the Meteora Mountain-Rocks, that we could really just walk around them from it! The view is magnificent! You can feel the fresh air coming from the mountains, and there are no busy streets around! The two owners of the Hotel, Spiros and Mary are incredible people! So kind and friendly, there were always ready to help us with anything! They provided us with info about things to do around, where to eat etc. The breakfast in the hotel was quite good! Most of the products were local, and really fresh! Spiros also made us fresh pies everyday! Our room had a fireplace, and Spiros everyday provided us with adequate logs to use in it. The hotel, lobby, and the rooms are quite cosy and welcoming, that guarantee for a great time staying there! At the last day, because of a us getting out of schedule with a trekking route, we asked from Spiros if we could have a late check-out.. He was so kind, and let us leave the place a couple of hours later, and even have a valuable shower after the trekking!! Thank you guys, we will definitely be back to you again soon!
Review 118:Spyros was an excellent host and very gracious. He saw to our every need. The breakfast was excellent. The views from the balcony are exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel. I will stay here when I come back to the monasteries again!
Review 119:We loved everything. The view is gorgeous. Spiros, the owner, is very friendly. Very nice boutique hotel. The rooms have 2 balconies both with views. You can even see the views from your bed through the patio doors! At the foot of the St. Stephens and Holy Trinity monasteries. Very peaceful and quite area.
Review 120:A little trouble with the Internet for iPads but worked on the iPhone and laptops. One rude guest made lots of late night noise but likely rare event. Otherwise very peaceful.
Review 121:Spiro and Maria are very friendly and conscientious hosts! The linens, towels and breakfast were all high quality. Their effort is obvious! Fabulous location for going up to Meteora. Right up against the Meteora St. Stephen Monestary!
Review 122:The Hosts Spyros and Mary will do everything to make your stay at Epavlis a very pleasant one. The hotel is perfectly situated to visit the Meteores and surrounding mountainous area. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is very nice with local specialities and very good cofee! On demand, Spyros and Mary will cook you a delicious barbecue for your evening meal. The views from the room balcony are breathtaking! We really recommend this Hotel to anyone whishing to visit Kalambaka and the Meteores!
