Reviews for Locanda al Convento
Review 1:The only downside for us was the location. We needed accommodation close to Venice airport yet it ended up being €30+ in a taxi to the airport. The bus service was excellent though and only cost €1.50 each and the staff advised the closest bus stop.
Review 2:The rustic family feel and friendly staff. The food was superb, good quality and very fairly priced. The staff were very accommodating when it came to breakfast as we had to leave early for a flight so they allowed us to come 1/2 an hour earlier for breakfast.
Review 3:You'll get up early with domestic animals (cocks, turkeys)
Review 4:Hotel type of Agriturismo. Spacious, but dark rooms with air conditioning. Comfortable beds. Parking for our bike. Excellent cuisine. A pleasant walk to the bus into town (15 -20 minutes)
Review 5:messaged plane arrives 2300 and je argued with me when i arrived saying i can rent its passed 2300 and this is not hotel...avoid this place out in middle of nowhere
Review 6:Sleeping right on top of the restaurant can get kinda noisy.
Review 7:The rooms were great! Lovely wooden floor and a great bathroom. Awesome atmosphere as well and great food.
Review 8:reasonable value for money. Rooms basic but clean
Review 9:We arrived late at night and found a birthday party with loud music going on in the restaurant. Staff were preoccupied with looking after the party and we felt a bit like intruders This is unlikely to be typical but I think it is worth bearing in mind that if you are looking for a quiet overnight stop for the airport that the rooms are on top of the restaurant
Review 10:A lot of food was offered for breakfast, but most of it was pre-packaged rather than being local farm food as you would expect at a farm tourism place. It helps to know Italian because the staff don't speak very much English.
Review 11:There were nice roads and trails for walks in the countryside and the room was clean and comfortable. It was very nice to stay there during a heat wave because it had air conditioning. The restaurant also serves a pleasant dinner.
Review 12:It's not that close to Venice, the city. Best to have a car. There is no one on site. Must coordinate arrival time so someone is there. To check you in.
Review 13:The ambiance of the place.
Review 14:We used this for a brief 4 hour stay before having to get to the airport for a flight. It is a 30 Euro ride from the train station, and they charge an extra 30 euro for another person even if you are willing to take a single room. It is almost impossible to get a taxi at 4am in Venice and the host (while nice enough) did not speak English and did not help us get a taxi in the morning.
Review 15:It is a cute place in what appears to be countryside. This would be a great place to spend a night or two. Locals definitely visit the place often for food.
Review 16:Myself and my girlfriend only wanted a drink. So we ordered 2 alcoholic drinks to sit outside with (30 degrees). We were then very rudely told about 30 minutes later that we were not allowed to sit there without ordering food. And told to leave the table... Minutes later we were presented with the bill for the room. I have never encountered an Italian property that charge on the night of arrival. And this felt extremely forced and made us feel unwelcome. The reason we did not eat at the hotel was that the half the menu "was not available"
Review 17:Perfect location. Away from a city. And a short walk to the bus to Venice. Which then only takes 20 minutes. Farm animals roaming about makes it quirky.
Review 18:although we did'nt eat here it looks like a lot of locals do and the food looked great, it's only a 10 min walk to the village to get a 20min bus to Venice, so makes an ideal base
Review 19:Efficient & friendly staff. Delightful, spacious bedroom with lovely furnishings. Nice bathroom, shower a little on the small side. Pleasant easy walk into Favoro Veneto. Did not have time to use restaurant but looked fabulous and was busy with the locals so appeared to have a good reputation. Easy access to Venice. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 20:Absolutely perfect in all details.
Review 21:The family run hotel is very nice and clean and the restaurant was a good surprise, excellent food at very decent price. If you need to catch an early morning flight this is the best location.
Review 22:I am an italian tour operator working and living in the United States. Upon returning from a business trip I was looking for a small country inn with restaurant for the last night prior to my return home. I found this charming inn and highly recommend its great restaurant. Attentive service, great food, warm ambiance, excellent relationship value-price. I highly recommend the Locanda del Convento!

Review 27:Excellent value for money and even though I arrived after 11pm due to a late flight they made me sandwiches and gave me a beer !
Review 28:Near the Marco Polo Apt. In the countryside. Good restaurant at the ground floor

Review 36:Good
Review 37:Classic rural setting, great staff, good feel.
Review 38:Hard to find Need GPS or local help
Review 39:Quiet and rustic
Review 40:The restaurant, the mosquito prevention
Review 41:800 meters walk in from the buses...not too much but noteable. Ensure that you spend time learning Italian. Tough to communicate if you do not.
Review 42:Very nice place. Quiet, comfortable and affordable. Very nice restaurant downstairs. Common area with a large TV and couch.
Review 43:Locando al Convento is quintessential Italy!! It was so beautifulnestled in the countryside. I loved the chickens, goats, cats etc... onthe grounds. So peaceful after traveling a bunch. The perfect spot! Thestaff was extremely friendly and helpful. And the restaurant was socharming and authentic. The food was very good! I highly recommend ifyou are looking for that unique kind of place.
Review 44:The hotel need to think about a transfer for guests without a car. Ataxi from the airport 25 euros, back - 36 euros. No menu at therestaurant. Prices will learn from the bill. Only one person speaksEnglish. Breakfast - yogurt, muesli. No cheese, sausages and eggs.
Review 45:The fact that this place is advertised as 'quiet', which it iscertainly not ! Our room was on the front, air conditioning did not work(38 c !) and there is a chickencoop within 20 feet of the front of thebuilding, where a rooster starts screetching at 3 in the morning at 30seconds intervals. (There's a second one that helps uot once in awhile too. Also, there is a outdoor restaurant on the terrace out front, which is closed on monday and tuesday, but apparently fully booked bylocals from wednesday-sunday, you can't get a seat even if you staythere as a guest. So, after we came back exhausted from a day ofsightseeing in Venice, there was live entertainment going on (singingand music) on the terrace right under our window (nobody informs you ofthis before hand ofcourse ..) and big clouds of cigarette smoke driftingup through our window. So we were forced close the window and shuttersagainst the noice, sweat up a storm in our 'beautiful' room, andwhen the music finally stopped at 11:30 at night we got exactly 3-1/2 hours of sleep before the rooster started up again ! The nextmorning another guest commented on the same problems, no airco, therooster and the live entertainment. Breakfast was some dry pre-packagedtoast or croissant, yoghurt and some preserved fruit. The only savinggrace was the coffee, which was delicious, but that not hard to do as amachine makes it. So, after 2 nights with hardly any sleep, I would notrecommend this place to anyone!
Review 46:Beautiful place, beautiful rooms, beautiful location. 15 minute walk intotown where you can catch a local bus to Venice, which runs frequently andcosts a little over 5 euro's return for 2 people.
Review 47:The walls between the rooms seem not to exist, you can hear every sound from the other room. The breakfast is extremely poor, the bread at least 3 days old.
Review 48:The place is nise and clean.
Review 49:It was like 1 km from the center of Favaro Veneto and there is no bus so you have to walk.
Review 50:The owners and the staff was very helpful, beautiful location, clean and comfortable room. Perfect place for relaxation. Close to Venice and Marco Polo airport.
Review 51:Our en-suite bedroom was very cosy, comfortable and tastefullydecorated. We immediately decided this was the best accommodation we hadso far during our trip through Europe. We already recommended it to ourfamily & friends. Will definitely stay there again if theopportunity arises.
Review 52:Internet only in the dinning room, on the occasion I could get the signal from my room.
Review 53:nice and quiet, very friendly family running the place. Room and bathroom clean and tidy.
