Reviews for Houses of Motovun

Review 1:The wifi in our room didn't work (3 routers, 1 worked), the safe was locked, the refrigerator doesn't work. Despite the negative sounding aspects, it was still great. Before you enter Motovun, they try to sell you parking, it's not necessary - since you get a parking pass after you check in.

Review 2:Location is great. All in all, we really enjoyed it.

Review 3:Weak wi-fi singnal in our room. But it did work anywhere else. When raining, there was a leak in the kitchen and in some of the rooms, but fortunately not in ours.

Review 4:Great location, not too far from parking. Car parking included. Clean. Big and well equiped comunity kitchen. Breakfast included, even if it was not mentioned anywhere where booked. Friendly owners.

Review 5:It was hard to find, and I was glad I went looking for it first before dragging my bags up the hill. It was being renovated but it will be nice when it is done.

Review 6:Very nice staff, bedroom was adequate but the common area was spacious and very nice. Great internet also in the bedrooms.

Review 7:This is NOT for the apartment itself -- just a warning. The Motovun is closed for the foreign cars -- only locals can enter the town itself and the access is regulated by an electronically operated barrier. If you don't want to carry your luggage uphill, you have to arrange with the hosts a temporary access to the town and then take your car outside and park it on a specially dedicated parking (free) -- only 3 minutes walk from the apartment.

Review 8:I was somewhat alarmed when I saw the house for the first time -- the building looks really old. But the alarm was a false one: inside the apartment has everything to make your stay pleasant. It has a really well equipped kitchen (well enough to prepare a gourmet dinner, including a set of spices and a kitchen electronic scales). The sleeping room was quite a big one with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is also big and comfortable. The view from the sleeping room is unbeatable! Current owners own the place for a couple of months only and some improvements are in process. The day we were leaving an AC was installed. A couple of minor glitches have bee fixed in no time at all (there is a phone in the apartment that allows direct connection to the owners). Add to this a magic medieval town of Motovun and you will get an excellent stay. Highly recommended.

Review 9:When we booked, it stated that breakfast was included. There was no breakfast, but someone did drop off a loaf of bread each morning.

Review 10:The location was perfect. Not far to carry bags from the parking area. The view from the balcony was nice.

Review 11:The location is great but the facilities are being allowed to deteriorate by the nice but uninvolved new owner. We were not received nor ever visited by Liveo (sp?) as is customary from all hosts everywhere else we have stayed. The place did not appear to be too clean and the water heater did not function one day. We could not find the owner or representative until 9:30 AM although checkout was supposed to be between 8-11 AM. The breakfast was not provided as per contract with Booking.com. Parking was abysmal! There was no one to offer us any info about the residence and the amenities. The wifi was very iffy. If you could get it you were lucky and the experience sloooooow. Do not pay any attention to any reviews before June 25th or there abouts because ownership was still with Branka. The new owner intends to change the name and character of the property so may not care much about the reviews. I don't like the idea that there is no toll free number to contact Booking.com hen there is a problem.

Review 12:Location

Review 13:The entrance to the room was through a back alley, dingy, crumblingcement steps up to the rooms, which were more like a hostel thansomething you would pay €65. per night!!! There were ants and spiders inthe apt. When it rained the closed windows leaked! Breakfast consistedof a loaf of bread, a few slices of cheese and ham...delivered to thekitchen. We have been in Croatia for five weeks and stayed in much nicerplaces for half the cost...advise you not to stay at The House of Gold!

Review 14:View and shower.

Review 15:Location Common area with kitchen and kamin

Review 16:Nice apartment and room to spread out.

Review 17:Hosts are very kind. Apartment is beautifuly furnished and our room had an amazing view. Everything was perfect, we really enjoyed our stay.

Review 18:The uneven floors took some getting used to. Also, the parking was a bit awkward.

Review 19:I liked the breakfast items like the homemade jams, tea selection, and toaster.

Review 20:Our 2 night stay at the House of Gold was excellent in every way. Hostess Branka was very accomodating and generous in greeting us with grappa, wine and a meal of of eggs, cheeses, sausages and breads when we arrived when we arrived much later than anticipated (after restaurants were closed) and a great person to spend time with too. Views were incredible.

Review 21:the owners are fantastic and we enjoyed the kitchen supplied with basic cooking items. we had a relaxing stay

Review 22:Very good accommodation, imaginatively furnished with all you might need during your stay. Exceptional hospitality.
