Reviews for Lola Piccolo Hotel
Review 1:The staff - professional, caring. Breakfast buffet - not to be missed!! Rooms - roomy & comfortable. Location - private beach was beautiful and very enjoyable.
Review 2:On the down side, most of the staff doesn't speak English. It might be an issue if you want to go to the restaurant (great food there) and want some help with the order. Also asking for simple things becomes a challenge...we know a bit Spanish, so it worked.
Review 3:Great location, comfortable rooms with enough space, fast internet, very good breakfast. Almost perfect...
Review 4:We booked a parking place in advance, but the garage was full during our stay. Happily we could find parking place in the neighbourhood. Also keep in mind, the checking-in time is not later than 18.00...don't know why, we noticed it late and had to change our plans to be on time.
Review 5:Good hotel, our room was devided into 2 rooms for 3 people, there was also a terrace. Rooms are quiet, breakfast is good (meaning not only sweets, but also cheese, ham and good coffee for breakfast). Also the staff is very friendly, willing to help. The beach is very close and you get a discount from the hotel. There are lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood.Really a nice place!
Review 6:The third bed wasn't so comfortable. Breakfast was poor ( but normal in Italia...) Parking extra cost
Review 7:Super Clean, Close to the beach, personal super ok, big room, big bathroom, 18 EUR 1 umbrela + 3 sun bed, quiet rooms, good AC
Review 8:Family owned hotel, very friendly management and staff, helpful in organizing programs, or suggest places to see. Located 2 minutes walk from the beach, nice clean rooms.Coming by car, be ready for some challenge on access&parking.
Review 9:fridge in the room goes off every time you are not in the room (since there is no electricity key)
Review 10:We were on the 4th floor with excellent sea view. it was clean and comfortable. Beach is just across the street and there is a discount for renting the beach chairs and umbrella
Review 11:The WiFi was very slow, but I was able to use it for some simple needs.
Review 12:This was a great hotel for our 4 night stay. Directly across from one of the many free beach access points in Marina Di Grosseto, it has a nice restaurant (very reasonable prices & the best pizza we had all week) and very good air conditioning! The staff were very helpful & everything was in good condition. Pretty good breakfast is included (no hot items except drinks, but everything you would expect). It is right in the center of all the activity but we did not find it loud inside the room whatsoever. Highly recommend their 1 bedroom suite. Very spacious with great view from the terrace. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return!
Review 13:Too many locals - no customer service for foreigners! No English, no client-oriented approach!
Review 14:Many locals - must be a good place. Low prices for restaurants, good seaside
Review 15:The pillows were terrible..worst, we had on our trip. Parking wasunavailable, & after paying for parking, in streets nearby &unpacking, we were told that maybe we could get parking in thebuilding...at 8 Euros....
Review 16:Wonderful hotel, spacious & upmarket. Good location, but verydifficult to find, if you are driving, as all the roads are blocked off.The breakfast & the breakfast staff were wonderful.
Review 17:- Staff at the reception was not helpfull at all (very poor english, moody looking guys) - The hotel did not meet the 4star expectations. From my experience it is at max 3 stars: small rooms, old furniture, no bathtub, hot water from 30 liter boiler (was often running out of hot water), very small 19'' TV with just a few italian channels, no facilities common for 4star hotels I have seen so far (swimming pool, sauna, sports facilities, entertainment activities) - The "private beach" is not the hotel's private beach as we thought. It is some agreement between the hotel and the "private beach" not owned by hotel. As result: they did not have sunbeds even ~50m away from the sea (on the last rows of the beach) with the argument that it is weekend - so all the sunbeds are booked.
Review 18:- Cleaning services were on-time. - Breakfast was just ok.
Review 19:Beach is mostly private. Town not very lively, lot of people don't speak a word of English.
Review 20:Breakfast was good, varied. Beach was a minute away. Rooms cleaned daily.
Review 21:The room very large and comfort
Review 22:Great location a block from the beach and the pedestrian street with all the restaurants.
Review 23:Street access in front of the hotel is blocked so loading/unloading is a problem. Parking can be an issue-we were never able to park at the hotel and parking on the street can be difficult on busy days-especially on the weekend. We had to park about 6 blocks away on Saturday when we arrived but were able to move the car to on-street parking about a block away the next evening. You need to feed the meter daily for parking.
Review 24:The Lola Piccolo is in a great location for beach access and restaurants, market, pharmacy and bank. The rooms are clean and bright with great balconies. Breakfast is wonderful and staff professional, attentive and welcoming. We don't speak Italian and the English-speaking front desk staff person was very friendly, informative and helpful.
Review 25:Alessio, the owner/manager was extremely friendly and helpful. We had travelled from the states then took a train to Grosseto and Lola was a perfect spot to recoup. Breakfast was wonderful with a very friendly welcome. I highly recommend!!!
Review 26:Serious complications at arrival. Our room was given away to another customer. The hotel claimed we arrived too late even though we had guaranteed the room with our credit card. Instead the hotel gave us a substandard apartment in another building. Checking out took very long time. Later we discovered that the hotel had charged us too much.
Review 27:Hot water runs out after 2 showers (we were 2 plus child).Coffee facilities in room would have been nice but not essential.
Review 28:Location, friendliness and Italian feel (ie not corporate chain). Goodbreakfasts.Balcony good with sea view just about. Resort chosen for us as following children in sailing regatta. Very much an Italian resort rather than a tourist destination but none the worse for that). Choice was this hotel close to waterfront and alternative set further back but with a pool. Arguments for both, on blance happy with choice.
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:We enjoyed our 12 days staying in Lola Piccolo hotel. Excellent hotel location, clean spacious room, daily cleaning and linen change, the hotel car parking. Very friendly owner and staff. The best receptionists: Alessio and Pompeo. Many thanks for all staff for making our stay very pleasant. Looking forward to come to your hotel in the future.
Review 31:Marina de Grossetto has a strict traffic system in place(at least in summer) with barriers and one-way streets, making the hotel difficult to find. Some advance warning from the hotel would have saved some stress. As a hotel really for Italian families on a beach holiday maybe they knew better.
Review 32:The hotel was fine but the location was not really what we wanted - not the hotels fault!
Review 33:Receptionist, manager and their attitude for clients, facilities (none),
Review 34:Only location and the room on the top floor with direct seaview howeverI would rate it as low 3* at all
Review 35:Only little minus is no fruits (in the period of 12 days fruits was served only couple of times) in the breakfast.
Review 36:Our family had a vacation for 12 days and we were happy to stay in this hotel. Hotel is near beach and walking street with little shops, bars and restaurants. Very freandly owners and staff, good breakfast, room cleaning every day. We thank all staff very much for making our stay pleasant and relaxing. Thank you very much and we are looking forward to come to you hotel in the future.
Review 37:Staff were helpful but seemed to regret having to help. Maybe it was the English but hardly anyone here speaks it
Review 38:Lovely hotel, clean and in a great location
Review 39:only what we did not like was the town which was almost empty end of Sep. Most of the restaurants, shops were closed. we spend only one night there and I could not imagine staying there in off season for any longer. and something really little - plastic cups for milk/juice at the breakfast.
Review 40:Hotel itself is a great place to be there during summer. Perfect location. it has a good facilities, helpful english speaking staff and good italian breakfast.
Review 41:The straff were not service minded and the rooms were a little small.
Review 42:The hotel has a nice location and a private beach. The rooms have normalstandard and a nice balcony.
Review 43:The keys are available to all guests in the main hall reception. Whatabout security? Everybody could get in and pick up your key.
Review 44:Very large rooms and great continental breakfast!
Review 45:We parked in the under floor car park only to find that we could notbring our luggage up on the lift from their, "The Receptionist" gave usa key to another lift and then he had to unlock the door to let us in,through some private residential area. Not my favourite receptionist, but the other staff were fine and friendly.
Review 46:Just what we needed having spent the last week in Cities, a receptionistwho was not aware of our booking and who because of the lack of Englishin his vocabulary shouted at us the whole time we were booking in. Not agood start. Having said that the room was really nice, in fact it was asuite, with separate living room, the decoration in the hotel wasbeautiful and such care and detail, really nice. Having got over ourinitial shock on arrival we enjoyed our stay.
Review 47:Block from the sea, near to Mediterranean Archipelago of Porto SantoStefano & Porto Ercole, near to Umbria, beautiful agriturismo nearby, and 2 hours to Rome. Hotel is beautiful and clean, clean. Excellentpriciong for large room with balcony looking at the sea.
Review 48:A few of the hotel reception staff were stand-offish. Made us feeluncomfortable when we would ask for another wi-fi user name andpassword. We got to the point where we would avoid certain staff membersbecause of this.
Review 49:The location was great. One block from the ocean. Close to a reallygreat little restaurant called Pizzeria del Corso di Giogio at Via xxivMaggio, 61.
Review 50:Parking is at the beach which is really close but in peak times you will havew to pay and park in a public place
Review 51:Good location with "semi-sea view, Clean and very large rooms Hotel is like a time warp really, The fittings are old but spotless and very well maintained. Really had a good stay
Review 52:We came here during non-peak time and the hotel is having somerenovation works and upgrading so the hotel was close except for pre-booked visitors. However our rooms are in good condition and we are notdisturbed with any noise from their work.
Review 53:No thing!
Review 54:Nice and clean, help full staff and only 2 blocks from the beach and one from main shopping and restaurant street.
Review 55:Staff are very friendly. Room is very clean. Location is perfect, many options of restaurants walking distance.
Review 56:Breakfast room is in the basement. If it were in the restaurant area it would had been more pleasant.
