Reviews for Amalia Hotel Kalambaka
Review 1:This is a cavernous bus tour hotel. Dreadful food - poor quality and same every day. Every day the buses arrive at dusk at leave at 8.00 am. The hotel is 8 minutes drive from town. So you need a car to stay there - otherwise you will eat in the geriatric food hall or be forced to choose from a very limited room service menu.
Review 2:spacious comfortable rooms. Excellent facilities. Good parking.
Review 3:A bit out of town, lacked atmosphere, more suitable for large tour groups. I would stay in Kalastraki next time.
Review 4:Spacious bedroom and large swimming pool. Good buffet breakfast. Our room was cold and a/c had no heating but the staff did provide a heater for our second night. No views from our room.
Review 5:Some of the buffet breakfast items were cold (we had to pick things from the bottom of the metal containers) - probably would be better if they kept lids on things or have better things to heat them. Great selection though!
Review 6:Friendly staff and great bar prices! It was only a one night stay booked last minute - we just went to the bar, bed, bath and then breakfast before leaving.
Review 7:This is a really nice hotel, very comfortable with great rooms, very usable public spaces with a nice feeling, great staff, and good food, the Breakfast is really good and in the evening they are busy with large parties but still make you feel special. There is a Buffet evening meal available that is good value. The pool and grounds are well maintained, nice to have such a large are you can walk round. Superb, would really recommend this for a stay in the area to visit Meteora.
Review 8:The bathroom needs some TLC, especially the basin and the bath tub.
Review 9:The location and surroundings were very nice. Our room was in the first floor, in a tranquil corner of the hotel which was perfect for us. We had a big veranda overlooking the back garden of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with a variety of local food and lots of fresh fruits. Staff was polite and always there to help us.
Review 10:Breakfast just ok. The setting of the hotel next to a main road' although it was not disturbing from inside the room. Not centrally located. You need a car to go out for dinner.
Review 11:The swimming pool...if you can have the opportunity to use it! (We had rain). Staff at the reception very helpful and friendly. Spacious an clean rooms. Big hotel, big spaces, and not a lot of guests.
Review 12:could hear neighbors on either side
Review 13:amazing breakfast buffet beautiful grounds spacious common area interior decoration was quite nice plenty of parking easy to find
Review 14:The wifi is open (no password is required), so the data is not secured. We've arrived at 12.00 but we couldn't enter our rooms or leave our luggage until 14.00. The hotel is outdated and it needs renovation. You definetely need a car as it is located outside of the city.
Review 15:Spacious and clean rooms. Big beds. Great breakfast. Free parking area. Air condition is old but very powerful. LCD TV
Review 16:Between 14-19.30 you can eat just sandwiches at the hotel.
Review 17:The hotel is outside of the city, very nice, with big rooms very clean, if you go there get a superior room it has balcony and the view is spectacular. The pool is very nice and clean; the staff is very attentive and can gave you good advice how to make a pleasant tour of the monasteries.
Review 18:The Wi-Fi signal was weak in the rooms.
Review 19:The Hotel was lovely. It was in a nice area, a little outside of Kalambaka, but taxi services were reliable. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The pool was lovely, and the buffet meals were fantastic. The staff at Amalia Kalambaka were extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 20:location (a bit far away from kalambaka centre; taxi one way costs around 10€!); car therefore recommended
Review 21:exceptionally friendly and helpful staff; we prolonged our stay for another night and got upgraded, loved the pool! (pool towels are provided!) breakfast was good and is available until 10:30; food at the poolbar was very good and the portions were huge; calm rooms, very clean facilities, would rate the hotel almost 5 stars
Review 22:In some locations the hotel could use some maintenance.
Review 23:Nice hotel located on the road to meteora, 15 minutes away. Good breakfast, and big clean rooms. Lots of parking space.
Review 24:3 km outside town. Needed to take the car to go into town.
Review 25:Big rooms. Quiet. Big pool. Not crowded. Good breakfast and evening buffet. Excellent lemon fish and other local specialities.
Review 26:The wifi could be a bit stronger, it varied depending on where you were sat.
Review 27:This was the second Amalia hotel we stayed at and we truly appreciated the consistency across the hotels. Decent sized rooms, well equipped with good sized beds. We had a triple as we had our 10 year old son with us. There was a small fridge in the room which was very handy with a kid. Big beds long enough for my tall husband (1.93) which is usually a problem for us in Greece. Welcoming basket with wine and fruit and water were included in the room. Good sized pool with plenty of umbrellas and chairs. Spacious hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. It's outside Kalambaka so you do need a car. Good breakfast buffet.

Review 47:Nice and helpful staff, comfortable rooms and wery good night sleep. Large free parking, good breakfast. We were happy and well-rested in the morning. Thanks!
Review 48:The hotel is located some 5 km from the city beneath the Meteora cliffs - so just be aware of that. The restaurant only served one menu - the food was nice but not much to choose from and the service closed early.
Review 49:The room and bathroom was nice and spacious - I had a nice open area in front of my room. The bed was nice. There is free parking in front of hotel. The staff was very friendly, especially in their bar, prices are fair. The wifi works well.
Review 50:Slightly overpriced (but it was during Easter holidays). Slightly old fashioned design. No hot water, tea and coffee facilities. Wifi of moderate quality.
Review 51:Staff very friendly and willing to help when we found out the TV antenna was not working, despite it was Saturday evening before Easter. They changed our room to fix the problem. Free wifi. We were offered fruit basket and wine in room.
Review 52:We did not know it was a childrens week. The new years celebration wasfor young people with very loud music with no break and it was verycrowded. Kakabaka is a shock
Review 53:The hotel is so beautiful and the meteroa site so impressive, one newyear's we spent an elegant nite at Divani.
Review 54:The hotel is a bit outdated...
Review 55:The price and the fact that although we initially booked a classic double room, we were upgraded to a deluxe double upon our arrival at the hotel.
