Reviews for Bintan Lagoon Villas
Review 1:Staff speak very poor english and very difficult to communicate with. When the resort is busy difficult to get activities. The resort and island don't except SGD .Breakfast is really busy unless you get there at 6.30am.We stayed 7 days wouldn't recommend a long stay here. Beds are either double and single so if you are tall and big then not comfortable. Also Villas privately owned so anything wrong resort don't want to know. Couldn't get an umbrella for outside yet some villas had them. They don't tell you that you have to turn the hot water on in each bathroom.
Review 2:We stayed in a bdrm Villa this was good as we had our own pool. Could see the sea from Villa. Had use of a six seat golf buggy. Italian and Rice restaurant great food. Rice right on the beach. Best value for money and choice the Golf Club cafe.
Review 3:This is the third time we went to stay at this resort and had booked two of their largest, four bedroom Angsoka Villas. The quality of upkeep of the villas has dropped significantly. For both villas we had to call maintenance crews multiple times over a short two day stay for fixing air conditioners which were not working. Doors and windows did not shut easily, the sofas had seats which had outlived their lives, the WiFi did not work in our villas and the towels were clearly in need of replacement. The food is frightfully expensive even by Singapore standards and in some restaurants the service is rather slow.
Review 4:It has a good seaside location. The Japanese restaurant Tepinyaki dinner was good.
Review 5:The cost of food and drinks at the resort was ridiculous. $8 for bottled water & the staff have clearly been told not to tell guests where any outside food can be found.
Review 6:Our villa interior was a little old but still comfortable. The pools were nice and the buffet breakfast was good. We'd recommend the Japanese & Rice restaurants but the Italian was disappointing.
Review 7:The staff at the resort and restaurants could be more friendly to make our experience more enjoyable.
Review 8:We liked the villa that we stayed at, the environment, the beachfront location, the swimming pool, and the club car. We made good use of the villa and the facilities.
Review 9:Very poor facilities for self catering in villas. Impossible to get any food other than from room service. Could buy BBQ meats, rice and potatoes. Had to buy grill rack with charcoal as not provided on BBQ? Eating out at lunchtime was a nightmare as the service was so slow. We tried all outlets but all poor. Even delivery of eggs and bread at villa was terrible. You were asked a time but they were always about an hour late! Told them to deduct service charge, 10%, on a few occasions. Everything has a service charge so staff not really encouraged to give good service. Kitchen staff need training for lunch service.
Review 10:Good facilities for children, loved pool with slides. Staff on the whole tried to be helpful. Eating out in the evenings was pretty good especially at Rice, by the beach. Eating out is quite expensive.
Review 11:We were just there with some friends 2 months ago and had an enjoyable time so we decided to bring our kids there for june hols. But in a short span of 2 mths ( apparently there was a change in management), the villa was poorly maintained, the main pool was dirty, rice restaurant menu reduced in selection n prices were increased. They charged for buggy ( previously it was complimentary if u booked a villa ) at a ridiculous rate of sgd100 per day! They even charged transfer from jetty to the hotel!! The staff, i must add, were very helpful n they tried their best to make our stay more bearable but i can feel that their hands are tied too n morale seems to b v low. The management shd relook at the recent changes they have made. They will definitely not have any tourists wanting to return to the property. I have stayed there several times n this is going to be my last. A pity cos bintan lagoon has huge grounds n nice golf course!
Review 12:Friendly staff
Review 13:Nothing to like here..worst experience so far..worst staff..needs hospitality training..villas not well maintained floors coming...it was over price..even to go till the gate of villa we had to pay..we felt like prisoners going out on bail..this is our first and last trip to bintan lagoon villas..
Review 14:The pool attached to the villa was not clean. Had missing tiles and the water was muggy. Didn't swim in there for more than half an hr.
Review 15:Loved the easy a cess to the beach. The beach was perfect for my 1 and 3 yr olds to play, swim and watch the little fish swim by.
Review 16:received many broken eggs, which took the staff quite some time to revert back and refund with unbroken eggs. Front desk provided wrong information saying Pasar Oleh Oleh is opened, so we booked a cab only to find out that it was actually closed and they are moving to lagoi bay. We weren't informed of transportation fees to and fro from ferry terminal to villa.
Review 17:Villa is nice and comfortable with good air conditioning. Kitchen is well equipped with utensils. Clean environment.
Review 18:The resort is old, out-dated. We didn't have wifi connection in villa but only in the resort lobby.
Review 19:We booked angsoka villa with private pool facing beach front. We got our privacy in the villa.
Review 20:Staffing was really short handed place was very dirty and service was terrible. Been there 2 years back and now it's a total different experience and to think I paid 1000 for a night. Very disappointing
Review 21:villa was huge
Review 22:The resort is very run down, the music in all the public areas is ridiculously loud at all times including a DJ from 7pm who played such loud music we had to leave because we couldn't talk and it hurt our ears! We requested it to be turned down but it was refused. Not at all conducive to the relaxing holiday we were lead to believe we were going to have. There was only WIFI in the lobby where the music was so it was impossible to make calls as It was too loud to talk!
Review 23:The villa was a good size with lovely pool areas. Breakfast buffet very good with friendly staff.
Review 24:room service is very expensive, so be prepared to spend. a can of coke is 5SGD, so i suggest just picking up some snacks from the convenient store at the lobby if you dont intend to get out.
Review 25:we stayed at the villa with a private pool. the hotel staff was very very friendly. service was quick and food is delicious overall. the hotel is huge and has a variety of activities to offer- golf, spa, etc.we were very happy with the hotel the beach was clean and they gave us a gold cart to get around the property
Review 26:Rude management, outdated facilities. Way to overpriced for anything to include food. Most water activities closed, even asked before I got there about the availablitites and was told all would be available.
Review 27:Personal buggy, close to beach, decent pools.
Review 28:- Villa was getting 'tired'. No hot water in kitchen, bathrooms old, telephone not working (but eventually fixed on day 5). - No convenient or reliable wifi access - Staff appeared disorganised and lacking process. Always willing but poor on follow through. - Meal orders confused and meals only warm when served. - No resort information brochure available in villa. Finding out about activities etc was difficult.
Review 29:- Location - Pool (Angsoka villa) was clean and well maintained - Food quality was excellent - Staff were friendly - Overall resort well maintained and beautifully presented
Review 30:Waited for too long to check-in and check-in out. The foods are expensive and terrible
Review 31:The villas are fine with own buggy provided but furnitures are old
Review 32:No welcome drink offered, breakfast spread can be more, sink tap a little old.
Review 33:Nice private beach, staff are very friendly, buggy to move around is a big plus, comfortable common area and nice bed.
Review 34:We booked Angsoka villa with private pool. The maintenance is POOR! Many of us especially the children got their feet and legs badly cut by the chips and the sharp Edge of the broken tiles in the pool. We were disappointed with the pool. Otherwise seems fine.
Review 35:Service was prompt and good
Review 36:Counter staff not well trained. Many things not sure and didn't call back as promised to update. Wanted to play golf but was told not enough buggy and they couldn't make exception. Called up room service to order birthday cake at night but was told that they had closed and couldn't make any exception. Super disappointed on this matter as the purpose of the trip was to celebrate my brother birthday.
Review 37:Spacious room n villa.. Good spread of the buffet breakfast
Review 38:Hotel is very run down, especially villas. Food is worse than average. Not easily accessible with a pram.
Review 39:Sea and beach are very good for children. They loved the golf car belonging to the villas.
Review 40:Too expensive for everything even for drinks in minimart onsite No free wifi in villa horrible quality of expensive buffet (they even charge for water and prawns were not fit to be served)
Review 41:Pool in villa kichen facilities pool tables big space putting grren
Review 42:the quality of the villa, too old, not well renovated.
Review 43:The facilities of the resort : swimming pool, children garden, activities, beach. Good breakfast buffet
Review 44:Check in system is bad; Check-in speed is very slow and staff is not caring; We were waiting almost half day to get our rooms ready; Villa facilities is poor; Toilets are dirty and got ants/cockroaches; Need a lot maintenances, Furniture are old and toilets/bathtubs need an upgrade;
Review 45:Hotel has private beach with various sea activities; Hotel swimming pools are nice; Sea villa private pool is good; facing the sea view. Villa is spacious; Food and drinks price are acceptable
Review 46:Aircon was broken in the master room and the hall. Swimming pool needs maintenance work as the steps were chipped off and dangerous to walk on.
Review 47:The big rooms that were spacious.
Review 48:Long queue and waiting time at check in.
Review 49:Staff were attentive to our request. We ordered bbq with the resort where food portion was generous. Staff helped to start and fire and even cleaned up the wet outdoor dining area.

Review 75:A lot of stuff not in good condition esp we are to bring our kids there to enjoy but my daughter was it by the broken glass understanding the area was not clean 100 percent . Swimming pool a lot broken tile n aircon n fan not in working condition . The breakfast watermelon was spoilt n lucky I taste after my daughter funish few pieces . And end up she has stomach discomfort .
Review 76:The new rice Restr that just built . I came here at least 10 times over the last 20 years . But disappointment on this trip .
Review 77:The check in process is very slow, i need to wait for 4pm only can check in, is it the service you all provide. The attitude of room services very bad, the staff not even know how to function the buggy.
Review 78:The staff at RICE restaurant near the beach and their quality of service. I had some insect in my english breakfast tea flask and I requested for a change. I did insist that I want a new pot. However, when the a "new" one was given to me, the flies are still there and the tea seemed darker. I assumed that they only changed the flask. Anyway, I changed to having coke instead. The food was good. But the service sucked.
Review 79:What's best was that we had a buggy for us to use during our stay there. The staff was polite and helpful and they did not expect any tip from us. We had message and seafood dinner out of the resort area. Overall stay was fantastic. 1 Night for first timer is simply not enough.
Review 80:The food and the villa rates are over priced for the quality provided. Improve your rates you will see more regular visitors.
Review 81:The villas are set up over a vast area. Fantastic!
Review 82:The swimming pool in the villa was very dirty. It had lots of insects like ants, flies, cockroaches in it and even dead frog. DVD machine was faulty. The bath surface was rusty. Overall, the villa only look good from outside but inside very run down.
Review 83:The villa is very spacious but very run down. The beach is nice. The massage on the beach is ok.
Review 84:breakfast buffet: a) coffee b) juices high prices for drinks and food villa would need a renovation
Review 85:the resort itself the beach the restaurants the beachfront bar the pools the golf the archery the cart to drive around the friendly staff the direct ferry service the overall atmosphere
Review 86:Price is very very high for the food. Vegetarian choice of food was very limited. Bed in the Villa was not comfortable. Just kept moving as you sit on it. TV channels were very poor quality. Also the old TV's need a upgrade soon.
Review 87:Location.
Review 88:Only one key for the villa which was ridiculous considering we were a party of 6!!!! The lock in the door was unbelievably stiff and took an age to get the actual lock out the door. Coffe and tea absolutely vile at breakfast. Wine was ridiculously expensive as was the mini mart. Also, no where to buy decent priced groceries for kids. Not even eggs or bread....
Review 89:Really good for kids as it has a swim pool catered for them.
Review 90:Rooms are relatively small, especially the guests rooms. Hangers are limited and no ironing equipment.
Review 91:The private jetty was very convenient, especially for our group of 9. The buggy was useful for us to assess different parts of the resort.
Review 92:- Villa floors and kitchen not very clean. - Kitchen did not have normal knife for cutting food, only a cleaver was available. - Hotel charges S$20 per day for WiFi which only 2 devices can access. It is inconvenient for those staying at the villa if you have a big group and most working professionals would want to check their emails for work etc. - Villas should provide a DVD player with a library. As it is a villa for families and groups, there will be occasions that the group stays indoors to chill over a movie, etc since the tv selection is not very good. - When asked to rent 2 baby high chairs, both that were delivered to the room were faulty. - The hotel overall is lovely but has a lot of room for improvement. Even the main dining hall for breakfast does not have an elevator to get to it. Not friendly for those with prams or wheelchairs.
Review 93:Good size villa. Superb view. Good general facilities overall.
Review 94:Slow check-in at the reception. Equally slow check-out. Overly crowded customs. In short, the resort is not designed to handle an influx of visitors.
Review 95:Relaxing environment. The open and spacious design of the resort, it's proximity to the beach.
Review 96:Villa could have been in a better condition - a little old and worn out looking.
Review 97:We had an excellent family break and stayed at a Bugavil Villa. we enjoyed the excellent service by all staff, and the pool side bar and pool. The ATVs were great value for the money and the whole family spent one whole hour of fun. The guides also took our camera and gave us 90 fantastic shots for our memories. both RICE and the Japanese restaurant gave us more enjoyment and teh food was better than first class. The golf was also very good too and the caddy we were provided with was excellent
Review 98:mosquito (wanted to get a caution on the first day) - my children were bitten so badly at the first night. Asked for mosquito killers from the 2nd day.
Review 99:nice and big living room private swimming pool cart 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms on the 2nd floor
Review 100:We had a lot of start up problems when we arrived (misunderstanding on extra beds whilst confirmed via e-mail, buggy did not drive properly, safe not working). All were resolved, but it took us quite some time. We were disappointed by the interior of the villa compared to what we were paying for it (very outdated and not extremely clean). One of the slides in the swimming pool was out of order and when it had rained there was a bad odour (like from the sewer) around the swimming pool. All prices in the resort are in SGD, but it is converted to IDR when you check out and want to pay with credit card. Next to that, the price confirmed with Booking.com is in USD, which is converted into SGD and then into IDR. It does give the impression that extra money is being earned with currency exchange rates, but I might be wrong here? All in all, we had a nice stay but we felt it was overpriced for the value we got.
Review 101:The resort has a nice beach and two swimming pools, the villa from the outside was great, we had our own buggy to drive around the park, the 3 Degrees restaurant at the beach was great and the service over there was excellent!
Review 102:The cost has gone up a little recently and I don't think it has improvedenough to warrant that yet.
Review 103:Bintan lagoon is rough around the edges, has nice staff and gets thebasics right. You get what you pay for and has never let me downcompared to more expensive resorts.
Review 104:The villa was a bit worn out and needs updating, especially the kitchen. We thought it was odd that the furnishings were not typical of Indonesia.
Review 105:I liked the staff's attention to us and I liked the size and location of our villa--we had a private pool and were right next to the beach. The overall condition of the villa and the furnishings, etc. were good but needs updating. The villas themselves and the resort property are beautiful!
Review 106:there is no playgraund for kids wi fi network was very weak
Review 107:Not nice buffet dinner:
Review 108:Nice house
Review 109:Dining is expensive.
Review 110:Private golf-car
Review 111:Expensive prices all round.
Review 112:The space.
Review 113:Will always make another trip to bintan lagoon villa and also recommend to my friends. This shows hw much I was pleased with the service there.
