Reviews for M-Hotel

Review 1:No complaint at all about the hotel, it was great. However, the wifi did not work in the bedrooms, but we were given passwords which suggested that it would work. Perhaps just state up front that it is only available in the lobby so guests don´t get frustrated trying to login

Review 2:The staff were really helpful, both before with the invitation letter for the visa, and with ideas of where to go and what to see when we were there

Review 3:No bad experiences.

Review 4:M-Hotel is conveniently located, close to the main Nevsky Prospekt, bus & trolley bus routes and metro stations. It's tucked away in a courtyard and is quiet and secure. The buffet breakfast is excellent value; teabags & kettle in each room and large fresh water containers on each floor.

Review 5:Be aware that there are only 3 parking spaces in the courtyard which is clearly not enough for 45+ rooms. The message that parking is not available comes quite awhile after the booking is made...

Review 6:Location is very nice. Staff (incl. breakfast and house keeping) is very professional and knows how to respond to every kind of requests.

Review 7:Location excellent and the staff very helpful. We had many questions and they were happy to help us in every way possible. Our room good size. No complaints really.

Review 8:Everything, good location, good attention, good food, good price we will visit your hotel next weekend again. Hope it will be even better for us. Surprise us.

Review 9:We stayed twice in the hotel. The first time in the 4th floor and wifi worked fine. The second one in the 2nd floor and Wifi signal was poor.

Review 10:Staff was very friendly. Great location. Quiet and cozzy

Review 11:Staff was very friendly. Great location. Quiet and cozzy.

Review 12:Wi-fi in the room did not work, they fixed it, but it took a few days.

Review 13:Great location in the heart of downtown, walking distance to everything. Still, feels quiet and private at night. The room was a bit small, but we had all we needed for a few day stay. Staff was great, welcoming and helpful.

Review 14:Our room was a bit noisy during the day

Review 15:Don't mind the old courtyard: this hotel's location is a good one, near Nevsky Prospect, metro Gostiny Dvor. Rooms are clean and our shower was... powerful. At breakfast, look for those little pastries on the table corner: they come straight from the confectionery near the hotel.

Review 16:the hotel is extremely basic, tiny elevator that makes weird noises, TV has only 1 channel working, very hard to locate unless a taxi gets you there the first time

Review 17:wifi is very good, location is good

Review 18:Not a big problem for me, but reception stuff needs to be trained.

Review 19:Convenient location, good quality mattress on the bed, all other facilities in order

Review 20:Most Central Location - all Clubs just Arround, Also Close to Metro ( which You might Not Need). Despite that, sleeping with Open Windows is possible! Very well run 3-Star Hotel.

Review 23:I felt the hotel couldn't cater to irregularities well. I had difficulties on walking because of inflammation. I requested a room near the elevator at check-in and the staff said yes. I found myself walking two long corridors before finding the room at the end of it. Pain awoke me at night and I phoned if there's any candy or biscuit they had so that I could take the painkiller. The answer is no. But next day when checking out I found there is a large bowl of candies just on the reception table for guest welcome.

Review 24:The entrance to the street

Review 25:Staff Was really great and always willing to help. even one of the girls spoke spanish. Room Was very clean and very good value for money. Perfect location 1min from nevsky street

Review 26:Terrible Breakfast, Poor customer service. I was asking at reception if there was any halal food or if they knew what that meant, and one of the receptionist said there are no Muslims here but we have a mosque, the way he said it was very offensive as if he was trying to belittle me.

Review 27:We like the location which is 2 minutes walk to Catherine Square and 5 minutes walk to Gostny Dvor metro. The staffs were friendly and very helpful. Our room was on the 4th floor which was nice and clean. I like the free drinking water that the hotel offers on each floor. The breakfast was very good, especially the coffee. If we go back to St. Petersburg we will definitely stay at M Hotel again.

Review 28:- mixed experience with the reception staff; not great when busy but thoroughly helpful and pleasant when reception is queiter - stayed for 3 nights and had to change rooms after the 2 second night (which wasn't a problem per se) To me I was staying 3 nights but I was as well have been two different people from the way it was managed.

Review 29:- Location of the hotel - Bar (and choice of wine!) - WiFi available throughout the hotel - Excellent choice of food at breakfast

Review 30:The photo is deceptive. That patch of grass in front is surrounded by parked cars, some in process of disintegration. You may be irked at having been lied to, but it's no big deal. Two turns and you are in really elegant, beautiful city territory. Breakfast is worthless here, besides being free. I like breakfast at a little place down Nevsky on the left, "Moroco" for some reason having nothing to do with Morocco. But crossing Nevsky from the theater's square you have the most elegant food emporium you could dream of. It's not a market, though it feels like one. There are tables and waitresses. Have great Russian tea for breakfast, or if not, at least have rich coffee, wonderful breads, jams, pastries, omelettes. The outside of the building is nearly as delicious as the inside, a fantastic (that is the word) 1902 art nouveau right there across Nevsky from where you live, impossible to miss. This is a great location for your hotel to be at.

Review 31:The location is lovely. You are just off a beautiful (typically beautiful 18th-century) square elegantly centered on a theater (I've forgotten the name) and featuring on one side a great public library where Plekhanov and Lenin among other significant intellectuals studied and taught. Turning left onto Nevsky Prospect you have everything down to the river, the palace, and the Hermitage (passing Kazan Cathedral --an Enlightenment miniature of St. Peter's in Rome and, looking the other direction while crossing a small bridge over a lovely canal, the name of which I've forgotten, you have the Church on the Spilt Blood, a perfect stand-in for St. Basil's in Moscow, a 19th-century bit of perfectly convincing pseudo-baroque). Walking left from the hotel on Nevsky is a sheer delight. Walking right has other delightful views, starting with a hugely impressive 19th-century bridge anchored by four powerful men dominating fierce horses. Almost all of St. Petersburg is harmonious 18th-century architecture, but this location gives you access to the most brilliant bits of other centuries in the city. The staff of the hotel couldn't be nicer and is in possession of perfectly adequate English.

Review 32:Wifi failed at different times which was frustrating.

Review 33:Great location walking distance to everything and metro. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. They spoke good English.

Review 34:wifi needs to be improved, as frequent interruption was noticed.

Review 35:The reception staff are extremely polite and helpful , besides speak good English. Very prompt in replying to my emails about some booking changes too. Gave good tips on eating out and directions how to go about in St Petersburg. The water Cooler on each floor and in lobby was Great, saved us trouble and money in buying and stocking water in rooms. The breakfast spread was GREAT, and was surprised to see dry fruits and pastries also. The staff in restaurant were warm and smilling which brightened our day. The rooms are well appointed, fully carpeted, tea kettle, fridge , heater which was great help. Lastly we were touched by Ms Maria Pak the Reception Adminstrator who even gave us packed breakfast as we were leaving the hotel at 4.30 AM to catch early morning flight. Excellent Hotel very close to Metro Gostiny Dvor ( hardly 3 mins walk).

Review 36:The facilities could use a little investment/refreshing.

Review 37:The location is fantastic, within the central area it's possible to just walk anywhere. The service was absolutely great - you really feel they care for their customers.

Review 38:Nothing!

Review 39:The great location, near the metro. The helpful and friendly stuff. The rooms are comfortable and really good. wifi is very fast. The breakfast is good and I love bread so much.¡¡¡Muy bien!!!

Review 40:Good quiet location right in the centre of St Petersburg. This hotel and staff always meet my expectations If coming from the airport I would recommend using the taxi desk as you come out of customs – only 900 Rubbles fixed price and very efficient

Review 41:The breakfasts weren't great. Hot food was cauliflower, frankfurters and torfu??

Review 42:The staff were very accommodating, willing to make restaurant reservations, book taxis etc and the location is excellent.

Review 43:I did not have time to test the WiFi :)

Review 44:Location is one of the important features: you are in the middle of the main street, just aside from heavy noise of Metropoly. Walk like a real tourist - skip the public transport.

Review 45:The M Hotel is located close to the nevskii prospect. Many sightseeings may be reached by foot and bus within less than 15 mins. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is clean and comfy. Perfect for city trips.

Review 46:Single rooms are strange - too long, like a corridor, although spacious. The bed is ok -but I do not know - I could not sleep well three nights in a row... The breakfast is in general ok, but some food was not of good quality - seemed like porridge was cooked long time ago. So about improvement would be helpful.

Review 47:Everything is perfect: location, staff, various meals for the breakfast and services.

Review 48:There was nothing not to like.

Review 49:The hotel was very well located, in walking distance to everything. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms very comfortable and clean. If I ever get back to St Petersburg (here's hoping!), I will stay there again.

Review 50:Lack of gluten free bread for breakfast.

Review 51:Staff spoke very good English and were very helpful. They sorted a slight glitch with our non visa booking via St Peterline ferry. Liked having a kettle and fridge. Good, quiet location although a 20 minute walk from Hermitage.

Review 52:This hotel was adequate, nothing more. It provides for basic needs, but everything sort of screams "budget." Overall, it's pretty depressing. Also, they appear to have just checked off amenities on booking websites, whether they actually offer them or not. For example, they claim on this site that they will organize tours, but when I asked them about that, they looked at me like I was hallucinating. This happened several times with services they advertised having. What got me is that there are so many other hotels in the area at about the same price point that have character, charm, all sorts of amenities and services. Realizing this, I moved to a gorgeous hotel nearby that had every service you could want and a luxurious breakfast, for about $20 less per night. There are plenty of options like that, so why would you stay here?

Review 53:No milk in the room for tea. Breakfast service was sloppy

Review 54:The friendly staff The location of the hotel The comfortable Room The fridge in our room The Ice and fresh water cooler in the hallway for drinks refills Food was very nice

Review 55:Poor selection of food for breakfasts - particularly on Sunday. Pillows too hard - need selection.

Review 56:Location - walking distance to all main areas of interest. Quiet. Efficient front desk staff. Clean rooms.

Review 57:Very helpful and friendly staff who spoke English and seemed to understand what a first time visitor to St. Petersburg needs. In the city for a week and found the M-Hotel a convenient location and close to transportation

Review 58:Some varieties in breadfast might run out without refills.

Review 59:Breakfast with varieties, cloth dryer/radiator in bathroom. One of receptionists, Mr I Varfalameev impressed me much by his detailed answers to my enquiries, with high degree of patience and his friendly and dedicated attitude, even before I transferred from another hotel to M.

Review 60:Slow drainage in bathroom.

Review 61:Good buffet breakfast. Water bubbler to fill our water bottles in reception. Great location. Very quiet, large room. Wonderful reception staff.

Review 62:The staff were so friendly & helpful. The receptionist were super competent and helpful. Very good location, Central in the walking distance from the main tourist attractions, clean and cozy rooms, quiet neighborhood.

Review 63:Wi-Fi is too slow.

Review 64:Central location in the walking distance from the main tourist attractions, very polite staff, clean and cozy rooms, quiet neighborhood.

Review 65:A tea kettle and slippers made our stay. In general, the hotel is simple, but very clean and cosy. Good value for money, very polite staff. What else you can wish for in the heart of Saint Petersburg!

Review 66:If I really have to come up with something, the fridge in our room was quite loud at times. We solved it ourselves by simply unplugging it. It was not a problem for us so I even forgot to mention it to the reception.

Review 67:Excellent location and very helpful and professional staff. Good choice at the breakfast - green vegetables, cheese and meat cuts, porridge, omelette, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc., (though it may become somewhat monotonous if you stay long enough). We ate at different times and never faced a shortage of anything. Generally, very pleased with our stay and would come back.

Review 68:Price is expensive, more than 800euro for 5 nights. Then, asking extra money for keeping the room 2 hours more after check-out time is not done.

Review 69:Location is very good, close to main street. Room is spacious and clean, good cleaning staff.

Review 70:The hotel is a hidden gem. It's location is excellent, right near the Nevsky Prospect and most sights, such as the Church on Spilled Blood, the Hermitage and St. Isaacs Cathedral are within walking distance. However, it was the outstanding service and willingness of the staff to accommodate our wishes all the time that really stand out. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting St. Petersburg!

Review 71:The hotel could make it easier to supply drinking water. There's a water cooler on each floor but no bottle or pitcher supplied, just the glasses in each room. But this is MINOR quibble. The hotel was a real winner.

Review 72:The location couldn't be beat, just off Nevsky Prospekt. The staff was extremely accomodating, breakfast was fine and the beds were as comfortable as could be.

Review 73:Alles TOP !!! Очень удобное месторасположение Отеля, около Невского Проспекта. До многих Достопримечательностей можно дойти пешком. Приветливый персонал, вежливые девушки на Reception. Неплохой завтрак,чистые номера.

Review 91:No safe in room.

Review 92:Staff were really attentive and helpful. Proximity to attractions, shopping, restaurants and Metro

Review 93:the entrance is in the inner yard, can be unpleasant when it is late.

Review 94:100 meters from Nevsky Metro station, very central

Review 96:Position worth the price.

Review 97:WIFI is a little bit slow
