Reviews for Hotel Iris
Review 1:Nice hotel with almost no traffic-noice. Very good breakfast. Easy access to Genova, hiking areas and beaches by buss, train and walking along the cost. Excellent service from the staff when I left behind my cellphone at our room when we returned home.
Review 2:Nothing really. Some rooms (I think) had a few stairs to their rooms so may be worth asking for one where the lift would take you if you don't like any stairs.
Review 3:Staff were always friendly and helpful, good sized room with fridge and balcony, good free car park in front of the hotel (we didn't use the car as can either walk or take train or bus into Genoa or along the coast, should avoid Genoa with the car), breakfast was good although no hot food and the room was downstairs with no windows, but still pleasant, lift to the room. Can recommend the 5 Maggio restaurant a short walk towards Genoa along the coast for great pizzas (or the nearer one if you like a crispy base).
Review 4:Would be good to have something warm for the breakfast and self-cooked coffee/tea in the room.
Review 5:Stayed for 1 night - very clean and quiet hotel close to the beach. Good size parking.
Review 6:The hotel was a little overpriced at time we booked it The air-conditioner was noisy Although there are a lot pointers to hotel on the roads, first time we missed the turn to parking and have to make a circle around the hotel (be watchfull)
Review 7:We used this hotel as temporary base on the way to Toscana and to make trips to Genova and Barolo. The hotel is located in 2-3 rail-stations from Genova main railway station. The hotel has big free-parking and very convinient for those who travel with auto. Also there is a nice supermarket around 200 meters. The stuff is amasing (changed the fridge, provided glasses for wine and ice for cooling) Free beach is located about 4-5 minutes walk (we used it just to swim in sea and didnt stay on the beach for long time). There are beaches with better conditions (you will have to pay for them) but you will have to walk 10 min. I would recommend this hotel to stay for not longer than 3-4 days only if you have car (to visit Genova and surroundings, Barolo, Alba and to have possibility to swim in sea at the same time) as a temporary base to move further.
Review 8:Very easy to find from the motorway. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Very clean and comfortable room, good breakfast and free parking. An excellent stop over!
Review 9:Wifi - It was free and available, but it was not fast enough to be of much use (we had cause to work while staying in the hotel, which required internet, but the lack speed was quite a hinderance)
Review 10:The rooms were brilliant; very clean, very quiet, very dark, very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Lack of stairs to our room was a little bit of a hassle, but not enough to prevent a revisit in the future. Also, a short walk from a lovely, old-school Italian restaurant down the road (heading west towards town, Il cinque maggio)
Review 11:convenient location near autostrade exit and beach, quiet, free wifi for multiple devices, free breakfast with wide selection, friendly staff, fast-no problem check-in/check-out, comfortable bed, nice clean bathroom, room with refrigerator, complimentary water
Review 12:wifi free and easy to log on to...no internet!
Review 13:easy access to genoa take the train, tour, come back, find a place by the harbor to sit and eat grocery store next door, atm on the corner Friendly, comprehensive breakfast roof terrace with a view
Review 14:The hotel was down a dingy alleyway and not near many shops. There isn't a proper elevator but a lift attached to the edge of the small staircase which was adequate
Review 15:Proximity to the beach and a restaurant. The person running the hotel was nice and very helpful and obliging. The room had good facilities.
Review 16:The carpark is small. We were lucky to be given a disabled space by the staff but others had to park in a nearby carpark. The access to local restaurants was limited due to my fathers disability but the hotel were happy for us to buy pizza and eat it in our rooms.
Review 17:The standard of the room was excellent (easily 4 star) and the staff were incredibly helpful to my father who is partially disabled. Each room has a substantial balcony to sit out on and eat a meal with very well appointed bathrooms. International satellite was very much appreciated after French TV!!
Review 18:Wifi was strong but cut out a lot so you had to keep going to reset the link on your device.
Review 19:Walking out of the door onto the beach front was gorgeous! Away from the crowds too, as we went in late August. Local bars and restaurants were nice. The hotel car park was free, hotel easy to find, round the corner from the train station. Nice rooms and beautiful bathroom with lovely shower. Very welcoming staff in all areas, reception and in breakfast room.
Review 20:nothing
Review 21:A lovely hotel close to the train station and the beach front. N ice breakfast, lovely room and ample parking. Very friendly and. helpful staff.
Review 22:A bit noisy
Review 23:Very nice staff, good location. Clean room with nice bathroom and balcony. It looked exactly as on the photos. Simple breakfast with nice coffee. A small bar is open 24 hours where you can enjoy coffee, wine and take it to your room/balcony if you feel like. Good connection to Genova and to visit the area. Beach is 100m away, not the nicest but ok, nice restaurants close by. Free parking at the hotel. Great experience
Review 24:All of the employees were as friendly and helpful as possible. Rooms were simple, but very clean and comfortable. The parking spot was really crucial. We didn't get to spend much time in Genoa, so hard to comment on the location.
Review 25:This is not a criticism of the hotel. To go to the hotel from the Piazza Principe train station costs about €25 by taxi. It is better to take a train which stops at Quarto station, leave the station, turn left on the main road and the Hotel Iris is well sign-posted. It is about a 5 minute walk.
Review 26:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, bathroom and facilities were excellent as was the wifi connection. The hotel is not in the centre of Genova but it was a great location for the beach. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby.
Review 27:Without sat nav tricky to find by car because of the one way system
Review 28:The staff were very helpful and friendly giving good advice on day trip to Genoa center. We were on a touring holiday and parking was essential particularly as space is at a premium and the car park was just in front of the hotel and felt secure. Room was to a high standard and very close to the sea front . good breakfast. Outside balcony an unexpected bonus
Review 29:Old fashion looking
Review 30:Friendly staff. Clean and correct price.
Review 31:WiFi was down the first evening but not the hotels fault, was blamed on lightning.
Review 32:Great place with parking
Review 33:hard to find turnoff from main road; breakfast room has no windows; room somewhat small
Review 34:free parking; quiet room
Review 35:nothing in fact
Review 36:Excellent staff, excellent location, easy to find (the signs of Hotel Iris starts from 3km), very clean and comfortable
Review 37:Not really close to anything, dated older facilities. Not a 3 star by US standards.
Review 38:Clean, basic hotel
Review 39:Not in the centre of genova and only a couple of decent restaurantswithin walking distance.
Review 40:The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was a greatsize, cleaned everyday with a lovely patio. Big bathroom and doubleshower were a luxury. Easy and free car parking was fantastic and sorare in the bigger cities of Europe. Easy walk 100 metres to the beachand 250 metres to the train station.
Review 41:Wifi only worked for 8hrs at a time and only within a day cycle before you needed to enter another code - but was free!
Review 42:Rooms were clean and bathroom was very nice. Location was great and there is easy ample parking. Breakfast was included and was fine.
Review 43:It is well signposted but the access roads are quite narrow - but that's typical for the neighbourhood.
Review 44:Very helpful staff, set in a friendly neighbourhood with direct access to the coast and a number of restaurants. We enjoyed our stay. Bus ride to the centre of Genoa quite easy.
Review 45:11 am checkout time :)
Review 46:The location is good as well as the facilities: you get a huge terrace of your own that goes with the room. And the beach is really close, although the public beach itself is poor. For better service it is recommended to walk to any private beach nearby. And the parking is a relief in that area. It is also very easy to find with lots of signs leading to it.
Review 47:First impression of the hotel building was not great, but inside it is much better. Modern facilities in the bathrooms, but some of them are not very convenient, like leaking shower, or sink, etc.... Not all of the receptionists speak English. No restaurant in the hotel.
Review 48:There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Review 49:The service of the staff, they were always on hand to give you a tip or help in any way. Always a smile on their faces.
Review 50:Breakfast was basic.
Review 51:Parking. Location. Staff.
Review 52:very friendly staff, recomended a great place for dinner, everything else was working good;
Review 53:The location. A bit far from the center of the city. But public transport good. Few restaurants in the area.
Review 54:staff extremely helpful and efficient.
Review 55:Elevator & good parking. Fast taxi service.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Excellent location, extremely nice and friendly staff, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Review 58:Excellent location: close to the sea - bus+train station nearby. Free private parking. Friendly staff. Clean
