Reviews for Hotel Tsikeli

Review 1:Room is very basic but clean. Single beds are tiny not comfortable. Difficult to communicate in English with the lady working there.

Review 2:The location is excellent. I walked all the way up to the top of Meteora from the hotel and got back within 4 hours. Hotel staff was very helpful. Called cab for me and also provided hot water.

Review 3:Uncomfortable bed, spots of mold on the walls, paid for Meteora view but got a room with great view of the village (but not Meteora)

Review 4:Clean room, kind staff, very good locotion

Review 5:Rooms are pretty basic, shower was too small to get in to, and that room was not heated. Towels were unusable too - very hard and scratchy. Breakfast was very basic, and not satisfying.

Review 6:Staff were nice. Location is convenient for a Meteora visit.

Review 7:Quite expensive (but it was worth the price), no kettle in the room.

Review 8:Room and bathroom renewed, very nice and clean. Fantastic heating (it was snowing outside so we could dry our clothes). Nice personel. Great view.

Review 9:The location is perfect and you can walk to most of the monasteries. It could be 5 to 10 km but it definitely is worth it. Every turn of the road gives you a new fantastic sight of the area. The breakfast was good.

Review 10:nothing that i can remember

Review 11:the staff are friendly the room are very comfortable feel like home and my son really like the decoration of christmas. will come back in future

Review 12:den eixe pataki mpaniou, den eixes p na patiseis :( meta to mpanio!! toulaxiston an eixe padoflakia!

Review 13:καθαρο,καλο wifi, megalh led tv,omorfo mpanio!!! kalh tumh mazi m to prwino!!

Review 14:The air conditioning was a bit noisy .

Review 15:Very close to the monasteries. And the staff are just friendly and patient. We followed their instruction and got back before 3pm, visiting all the 6 monasteries but only went inside two of them. The room was pretty clean .

Review 16:Location: couldn't be better, it's located in Kastraki, about 500 meters from the road to the mountains and the monasteries, the view is really stunning from the balcony. There are lots of tavernas with great local food in the area. Rooms: clean, very nice looking and cozy, the WiFi worked really well and fast. Staff: this is where it really gets hard to describe - I can't recall such friendly and welcoming staff in any other place I have stayed in the past. They were just amazing. Especially Alex (the young gentleman) who really helped us in planning our treks and routes. He possess vast knowledge and great passion for the area and we were glad to chat with him in the end of the day and to hear from him what else can be seen. Breakfast: really simple, but tasty. We liked the coffee :) Overall we had a great experience and will be staying here fro sure on our future trip.

Review 17:Nothing. Just bear in mind is located about 20 min walk to and from the train station. Taxis charge you 5 euros for the ride, and 7-8 euros when you book it in advance from the hotel to take you back when you leave.

Review 18:Staff extremely friendly and helpful at reception and breakfast. Very good heating system in the room. Nice view from the balcony. Excellent wifi connection.

Review 19:Breakfast was not included. For 5 euros extra, it consisted of one hard-boiled egg and sweet bread. I chose to buy my own food and eat in my room in the morning.

Review 20:The location was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 21:The mattresses need to be changed. You can feel every spring in the mattress. Make sure you let them know you want to pay by card, their card machine, oddly, only works between certain hours of the day.

Review 22:A family-run property where you are treated well. The family is discreet but helpful if you solicit their advice. Plenty of hot water in a newly redone bathroom. Nice sitting area in front of the hotel entrance and free parking.

Review 23:Hard pillows. Not the greatest towels. Weird plumbing noises.

Review 24:Christina and younger gentleman (her son?) were super nice and helpful. Called a cab to pick me up on the day I left, and gave me a plastic bag & napkin for packing my leftover breakfast each day. Room was very well lit. Shampoo & liquid soap dispensers. Quilts on bed. Reminded me of a ski lodge. Great location for hiking the four northernmost monasteries.

Review 25:Proximity to the monasteries and great views of the rocks from the front garden. The staff were very kind; nothing was too much trouble - they arranged a morning tour with another company when the company I had booked with cancelled their tour at 40 minutes notice, due to insufficient numbers, ie less than two.

Review 26:None

Review 27:Almost everything... The location is ideal to trek to Meteora, the staffs friendliness and helpfulness (especially Alex) and the comfort and cleaniness of the rooms

Review 28:First of all, the staff is amazing. I asked lots of questions, and all of them were answered patiently and fully :) Sorry, I don't know your name, young name who helped us so much, but if you read this, THANKS A LOT! Secondly, out of five places during our Greek vacation, Hotel Tsikeli had the most beautiful and stylish room. The bathroom wowed us :) Thirdly, it's located extremely close to the bus stop and food stores. Fourthly, there is a very nice and cozy garden with wooden tables. In the evening, it looks very nice. All in all, I would recommend Hotel Tsikeli to everyone who's going to visit Meteora.

Review 29:Staff did everything for me they are really friendly. Location :great for meteora hiking in the town is not happening much so if you want more happenings you need to walk/drive to kalabaka. It's about 3km off. Or take a taxi it's 4,50 so not much! Room was decent, bathroom great. Location 250 meters from the start of the meteora road. First monastery is just 20 minutes on foot. There's also a bus going up that was 3 euro a return so very cheap. DO NOT USE THE TRAVEL AGENCY THEY'RE VERY EXPANSIVE (I found that bus by myself basically they ask 25 euros or so what you can do yourself in 2 minutes for 4 euro or something)

Review 30:Leak/dripping in the bathroom. Toilet often wet

Review 31:Great location for seeing meteora Absolutely lovely owner and staff -went out of their way to be helpful

Review 32:The smell in the room was a bit strange. The towels and sheets were greish and not white (their original color). The room was very crowded - four beds in a very small place.

Review 33:The staff was very friendly. The outside garden was very nice. The location of the hotel is very close to the monasteries.

Review 34:Not much room in the room I booked, bathroom small and door didn't open all the way.

Review 35:Wifi was great, free parking in secure location, view was amazing, breakfast very nice and staff helpful booking a tour. Aircon worked well.

Review 36:Excelent place, staff was really friendly and gave us plenty advises about our trip to Meteora and about close city. Really nice room for the money. Breakfest was served in the nice garden with view to the mountains.

Review 37:The mountain view is not a view to a meteor mountains,

Review 38:Nice place to stay to see Meteora. You can start your way from a hotel, very nice personal and tasty breakfast, if we will come back, will stay here

Review 39:It seems as a renovation might improve the interior of the rooms. Wifi signal was weak.

Review 40:The hotel is well located within few minutes from all the main Meteora monasteries. Staff was helpful and rooms were clean

Review 41:Electricity in the room only works when the key is inserted, meaning your batteries won't charge when you leave the room. Very inconvenient.

Review 42:Very friendly staff. Nice garden.

Review 43:As a family of 4 members we were given two comfortable joint rooms with two bathrooms. The hotel is new, modern, clean and greatly located close to the Meteora monasteries. Very nice staff.

Review 44:Room is a little tight.

Review 45:The room, though small, and the bathroom looked like they had just been renovated. Everything was beautifully presented and the staff and breakfast in the garden, we're also great.

Review 46:Tsikeli hotel is very well located - very close to the Meteores. The personal was very useful, the breakfast was excellent and enough generous before a busy and sportive day in the Meteores. We recommend everybody to stay in this hotel.

Review 47:The hotel is in a very nice place, calm, and in contact with nature. Very well located for visiting Meteora. People of the hotel are lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Review 48:It's a family hotel, staff is very friendly rooms are clean and comfortable, you can buy a tasty breakfast for 7euro close to Meteora to visit the rocks and to kalambaka (restaurants, supermarket, pizzerias...).

Review 49:The room was little small for 3 beds. Be careful when you park in the private parking, the entrance is high in the lower part of the road.

Review 50:The hotel is next to the road to Meteora, only 1km away from Monastery of St. Nicholas. The room was very clean. The Wifi was good even in the room and the staff is friendly.

Review 51:Accommodation is in 5-10 minutes by car from the city centre and on the road to the monasteries, especially towards the Great Mateora Monastery. Rooms are comfortable, modern and very well equipped. Staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very modest and basic – the Hotel could consider extending the offer.

Review 52:We booked a family room for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were told that we'd be in two seperate rooms (rooms K-10 and K-11) for one night due to the family room (K-12) having plumbing problems and that we'd move to the family room the following day... The next day, a different person told us that the family room would be cleaned by around noon, and that our luggage could be moved in. However, I saw people staying in that family room the day we arrived! We felt that the truth was somehow missing... Also, that room was in the half-basement level, and felt very small and dingy. The mattresses were of average quality, and the towels weren't very soft. Finally, all three rooms didn't have a hair dryer.

Review 53:Good location, near and free parking, nice and polite staff. The garden on the front lawn is nice and so is the building. Even though our rooms did not have mini fridges, the staff let us put our food in theirs.

Review 54:It would be good to have a small refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was poor. The bads were not so comfortable.

Review 55:The location of the hotel was great. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The balcony has a great view on rocks.

Review 56:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Offering breakfast was a plus. We came to enjoy the majestic Meteora, and found staying at Tskeli completed our goal

Review 57:Beds were very uncomfortable and bathroom is a big problem, being very small, for example it's impossible to shower without shower curtain sticking to your body, hygiene wasn't the best in bathroom

Review 58:Customer service was good, value for $ was reasonable, breakfast good

Review 59:The hotel is so close to Meteora that it's nearly underfoot and the neighbourhood it is in has many quaint restaurants. The breakfast we had was delicious and the consistent Wi-Fi connectivity a relief (more reliable than the Wi-Fi in Athens!)

Review 60:We were welcomed by Chrisoula and felt very comfortable immediately. She is a great lady and we are so thankful to have met her! Our accomodations were beyond our expectations. We give it 5 stars! We hope to return in the future God willing!

Review 61:bathroom was not very clean, towels were very rough and hard, shared balcony (the website is a bit misleading as there was no view from the room)

Review 62:staff was extremely friendly, good location

Review 63:Our room for the 1st night of our 2 night stay was really TINY. The staff kindly changed us to another room for our 2nd night when I requested a change.

Review 64:Very pleasant small hotel with garden at the front, very clean, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The location is good, close to restaurants and walking distance to the closer monasteries.

Review 65:The bathroom was very little. We had a triple room.

Review 66:The staff was very polite and careful with us. The breakfast was not a festin but fair and natural.

Review 67:Possibly not the best view of Meteora in the village Basic breakfast compared to the price of the room

Review 68:the staff (owners?) could not have been kinder, helping me plan an itinerary for visiting Meteora, showing me a route for an unforgettable morning walk and even offering me advise for a shopping trip to Kalabaka - you were treated like a person not just a paying guest Central location in the village Pretty and very friendly village

Review 69:The family that owns and runs this hotel really go out of their way to make your stay here as lovely as possible. Because we had to leave on a very early bus I presumed we would just have to miss out on breakfast but the lovely lady owner prepared a packed breakfast for us to take with us. It's thoughtful things like this that really count.

Review 70:i marked down on facilities as there is no kettle in room to make a drink, although they have coffee downstairs, dont know the cost as we sat on balcony and drank water out of disposable cups we asked the owners for, also no rubbish bin in room

Review 71:lovely friendly owners, let us go in room before 14.00 hours, wifi worked, safe in room, great enclosed shower, fantastic view over the lage rocks at meteora sitting on shared balcony

Review 72:Extremely clean rooms, good wifi all over the facilites, very kind and polite staff, breakfast was rich and tastful. The location is not in the bigger town Kalambaka, but in a small tourist village of Kastraki, which is closer to the monasteries.

Review 73:Everything was wonderful.

Review 74:The location, service, friendly staff, and general comfort of the room. We were really made to feel so much at home and the setting of the hotel is superb.

Review 75:i think the breakfast could be a lil more improved not really what i expected to have could be a lil more consistent

Review 76:Well what i really appreciated everything was clean the garden is incredibly beautiful and the host was very nice and polite and always down to help us whatever we needed

Review 77:Crusty towels, mediocre breakfast.

Review 78:The location in Kastraki was perfect. The staff were always willing to help. They did a great job connecting us to tours and giving recommendations. I highly recommend this place.

Review 79:Nothing important to mention justo de found there were some mosquitoes in the bathroom ventilation

Review 80:Location, breakfast in garden, view from garden, very friendly staff, calm, modern bathroom...

Review 81:The breakfast can be a bit more generous with more options to choose from.

Review 82:The location was great, lovely hotel with friendly owners. They went the extra mile to offer us an alternative room so we had two to choose from.

Review 83:nothing

Review 84:they run their hotel giving you the feeling you are special for them, nothing is too much asked, interested in what you did that day, very warm welcome, big breakfast in a sunny terrace with beautiful view on the meteora, etc

Review 85:Nothing much really! The sink did get clogged prob 1-2 times but I think that's more of a problem with the town's plumbing system. Anyway, it was always unclogged the next day.

Review 86:Really good bathroom and shower Comfortable beds, furnished rooms Quiet and peaceful environment Lovely helpful and friendly staff

Review 87:No shelf in the shower to put any toiletries

Review 88:Very friendly and helpful hotel staff Arranged our excusions and transfer to bus station Arranged a surprise birthday cake, all done with a smile Location near the monasteries Beaiputiful garden

Review 89:My one complaint: no desk in the room. However, I was able to work at a table in the lobby, so, no problem.

Review 90:The most comfortable and convenient hotel we've ever found in Meteora and environs (this was my 4th visit). The room was clean and comfortable (and they had SCREENS!!!!!), the proprietor was really helpful and welcoming, and the location was convenient for both the amenities of Kastraki and accessing the monasteries of Meteora. We really enjoyed our visit.

Review 91:Very warm, homely hotel with good clean facilities. Great staff, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel owner is a very nice and caring lady. Breakfast was nice and we loved it ! Great views of Meteora from the balconies of some rooms and the nice garden. This hotel is well situated near the Meteora monasteries and several good restaurants. If you have time and like to walk, it's can go on foot see the monasteries.

Review 92:Wifi sometimes drops off

Review 93:The hotel is very clean, the location is wonderful - just on the way to Meteora, the bus stop that goes to the top is very close to hotel. Very friendly and welcoming host.

Review 94:Traffic noise and drinkers below our window necessitated closing the doors and using the air conditioner, which we would have preferred not to have done.

Review 95:Location in village area rather than main town.

Review 96:Staff is awesome, friendly and ready to help with everything. Location is outstanding, like the facilities and the comfort level. Breakfast is plentyfull... We loved it

Review 97:Kastraki is a small town without an ATM and other facilities, but it is easy to get a taxi or bus to Kalambaka to get stuff and worth it to be in an authentic place that wasn't crowded.

Review 98:The view of Meteora's rocks is stupendous and it was so nice to sit in the garden looking up at them. The owners were so kind and the facilities great. Fantastic base for walking and climbing. Good restaurants up the hill to the left.

Review 99:It was a bit noisy during the night at Easter holiday due to young neighbours next room slamming the door. Breakfast is not a buffet, might be not enough for some, but served with local flavour.

Review 100:Great place, recently renovated, very clean, staff is responsive, helpful and really welcoming. Hotel has a great sitting area in front of it and situated in a quiet area.

Review 101:In March no heating every day, so first evening our room was cold, just for morning was warm. Its normal, but not pleasant...

Review 102:Very good breakfest! Owners are kind and offer walking path to Meteora.

Review 103:Small toilet and shared balcony for three apartments.

Review 104:Everything was great, starting from the owner. Very good and clean room. Good wifi. Perfect location to visit Meteora.

Review 105:I LOVED EVERYTHING !

Review 106:I LOVED everything ! The breakfast was very very good, the family is very nice and helpful. Don't need to talk about the location wich is just wonderful.

Review 107:A distance away from shops and amenities, More difficult access during winter months, when most shops are closed.

Review 108:Excellent personal attention by staff and were very helpful with assisting in making arrangements (Boiled Hot water, Christmas cookies, etc) We hired a taxi for a day and a half and moving around was not an issue

Review 109:we liked that this hotel was in a perfect location for visits to Meteora. The staff were extremely helpful, and being out of season, told us the best restaurants to visit, all with a short walk. A lovely clean comfortable hotel, and very quiet.

Review 110:Great location if you have a car. Unfortunately we didn't and the buses seemed to have stopped running in November. So be prepared to walk to kalambaka or take the taxi which is around 3-4euros one way.

Review 111:Great views of Meteora from the balconies of some rooms and the garden. Very warm, homely hotel. The hotel owner is a very caring lady. She always made sure we ate enough breakfast and knew the ways to go up to the monasteries. She is very generous too. We were a group of three and originally booked a room with a single bed and a double. She gave us an extra room at no additional cost so that we could have more space.

Review 112:This hotel is located on the road leading to Meteora. The rooms and bathroom are very small, but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Host was pleasant and informative. There is an attractive outdoor seating area.

Review 113:Nothing, it was perfect.

Review 114:Brand new, balcony, air conditioner heated the room to perfection, wi-fi excellent, spacious and homely, very nice and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to stay at when visiting this area. Great location, bus to Meteora goes right past. Only €5 taxi fair to train station, or €1.60 bus fair.

Review 115:nothing to add here.

Review 116:staff were very approachable and the room was comfortable. it's also on the road heading up to the monasteries so you can't miss it.

Review 117:Nothing, we very much enjoyed our stay in Tsikeli hotel.

Review 118:Optimal situation in Kastraki, close to monasteries. We were able to come back by foot in beautiful surroundings after the visits. Pretty and clean hotel. Very helpful tenants. Very good breakfast. Performing Wi-Fi Reasonnable cost. Numerous restaurants in close vicinity.

Review 119:Parking on street outside, but plentiful.

Review 120:This hotel has it right. Comfortable clean rooms well fitted to provide what is needed. Road the corner from road to the monasteries. Friendly staff.

Review 121:Room a bit small, but for one night, no problem really.

Review 122:Staff all very nice. The view from the nice garden was good. As was the location in close proximity to the Monastries. The breakfast was also good. This is a value for money Hotel.

Review 123:We had a room with backyard view rather than garden view as what we thought we will be getting

Review 124:Warm family setting with good clean facilities. Extra blankets available as the weather was cold whilst we were there

Review 125:The bathrooms are clean but a bit old, however all in all the hotel was really good

Review 126:The location is very close to the mountains and the village The staff are very friendly The terrace is really comfy with a nice view on the mountains

Review 127:The rooms are very small. The bathrooms are a little bit old, but clean.

Review 128:Very hospitable stuff. A nice garden and great view to Meteora. There is a inner yard for parkng.

Review 129:it was terrible expirience.we stayed there just one night.i dont know how the hand out stars in Greece(probably in a goodie bag)but that was defenately not a 3*** hotel.maximum 1* or maybe even a guest house.rooms were tiny, and there was 0% sound isolation.smelly towels and blood stained bed linen.i would never recomend this place!

Review 130:friendly staff, clean room and nice view(if you are lucky enough to stay in a mountain view room)
