Reviews for Crown Promenade Melbourne
Review 1:The abruptness and disinterest of a checkin staff, short with dark hair, Kay, Kayla (similar). Noisy guests early hours and late at night. the plumbing in some of the rooms. some of the disinterested staff over the phone. the complex phone system... how i had to use my phone to contact hotel due to unanswered phone, being transfered around, then hung up on.... children permitted to run around, playing with the automatic doors in foyer which made entry difficult. that is the fault of parents. perhaps a 'no running around' sign. may i also suggest to use a natural essential oil spray, such as orange power, lime, lemon, orange to spray in smoking rooms?
Review 2:the convenience of the many restaurants, cafes and food courts without having to venture too far if you want a couple of nights break. i don't frequent casinos so had no interest there. southgate have many excellent eateries. some of the reception staff are friendly and welcoming, especially a lovely lady with a big welcoming smile. I think her name is Guhli, Julie or similar sounding. All staff encountered throughout hotel were helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping in particular. Food service had good quality meals at a reasonable price. the crispy skinned salmon with asparagus was worth another order, though order a side of mash for the perfect tasty meal.
Review 3:Room could have been better. Have stayed in better quality rooms for less money.
Review 4:Lovely staff, good facilities: an easy place to stay. Rooms were nice and quiet.
Review 5:The windows needed cleaning, very dirty on the outside. We had a corner room which was very clean but the view from the floor to celing windows could have been improved if theorists ode of the windows were clean. But overall a great stay with very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 6:Very nice stay right in the heart of Melbourne. The staff were very friendly and helpful which would be the main reason we would return.
Review 7:Asked for clean sheets, whilst out getting hair done for wedding, came back and it was not done. Upon calling room service, they did come and change, but it was whilst I was getting ready for my wedding.
Review 8:Friendly staff
Review 9:The check in line was extremely long and took over 40 minutes. The key cards were not working causing delays and inconvenience.
Review 10:Our room upgrade was lovely, great views and we loved receiving a complimentary bottle of champagne. Room service was great. Thank you.
Review 11:The door key didn't work at first, then staff let us in the room, had to go back down to reception to get key fixed, staff were rude.
Review 12:Room was clean.
Review 13:The bathrooms in the corner king rooms were disgusting. It appears no one uses bleach. The grout was dirty as were the tiles. In the standard king room, bathroom was clean. When I moved to a corner king, which costs a lot more, shower recess was filthy. It needed a good scrub. .. Tv's need an upgrade as do the remotes and TV guide....Kayla on the front desk was rude, abrupt, made no eye contact, nor greeted you or wished you a happy stay. She had given me incorrect information regarding the deposit which put me out of pocket as she deducted more money for the deposit. $100.00 per night deposit is far too much, especially when you are told it is $100.00 for the stay or $500.00 cash. Plus, the funds are not released into your account, once you check out, for over seven days. So, if you plan on staying at Crown, be prepared to be out of pocket for the accommodation, and not expect to see your money for another week.... Guests should also have consideration for other guests by not continually slamming their doors, at all hours of the night and morning. More soundproofing needs to be done plus plumbing looked at on 21st floor. You can hear the rattling of the plumbing system by turning on bathroom tap and other guests In their showers, flushing the toilet. You don't expect that in a four star hotel. Overall, Crown Promenade needs serious maintenance, and some friendlier staff, on the phones and customer service.... Quay West in Southgate was a much better option for value, comfort, friendliness and location.
Review 14:The views are spectacular. Rooms were clean. Room service food was good. Guli on the front desk was wonderful, friendly and helpful. She is an asset.
Review 15:nothing
Review 16:we loved everything its close to every thing..the lunch and breakfast was brilliant too at the hotels resturant..the bench seat along the window was a fantastic idea , just sitting there looking at the city great views..
Review 17:I liked it all stayed at crowne towers previous year it's over rated from now on I will be staying at promenade never been this happy staff in all areas were amazing thanks
Review 18:Would have been nice if there was a bath
Review 19:The Location!!! how quiet the room was, the lovely staff, just superb, excellent room service, close to so much on Southbank.
Review 20:Booking.com didn't specify that to park here means paying extra forvalet parking.
Review 21:Comfortable beds. No noise from other rooms. Slept very well indeed.
Review 22:Had to wait 1/2 hour for checkin - need to streamline this service
Review 23:Location was excellent - close to everything for travelling around the city. Room was good, beds and pillows excellent. No noise from traffic and good blackout curtains. Across the road from the casino if you want to have a gamble
Review 24:We ordered at the restaurant was only okay the food wasn't amazing not a traditional Parma. The admin girl when I rang ahead said we could park at Crown would have Been a lot easier to park onsite and I'd rather she told us because we had lots of luggage.
Review 25:Beautiful convenient location friendly staff.
Review 26:We had breakfast at Mesh and it was a bit ordinary, preferred the breakfast at Crown Plaza a lot more and would have breakfast elsewhere when we stay again
Review 27:The staff were warm and friendly, the view was lovely and the bed really comfortable, also closeness to all the crown complex, really loved the pool!
Review 28:Nothing to complain about here.
Review 29:The pillows haha, The conservatory restaurant was fantastic. Used the spa for the first time. The gym area is also good.
Review 30:There is nothing I did not like
Review 31:After spending four nights in the Metropol which was arranged by another party for a work function I wanted to give a relative with two autistic children a break and booked the room for her. The person who took my booking was amazing and ensured that it was all set up for the guests and they loved everything.
Review 32:The toilet had a bad smell in it when we arrived and you could smell it through the room as well It had faded after we arrived back after dinner. Parking to expensive and credit card surcharge is unreasonable
Review 33:The bed was very comfortable and the view was great. Staff very helpful.
Review 34:Nothing......oh, except for perhaps that red and white saw-tooth mural in the lobby. Come to think of it the lobby could do with an interior decorator having a look at it. Perhaps freshen it up a bit.
Review 35:Everything
Review 36:Our overnight stay at Crown Promenade was faultless and pleasant. The customer service was friendly and helpful. The room was superior and clean. The valet attendant John was exceptionally pleasant and engaged well with my 4-year old son.
Review 37:No full length mirror in room. Very poor signage within complex . It appeared the address was incorrect in the GPS we used as we were directed to the wrong building.
Review 38:Proximity to gold class which was purpose for stay.
Review 39:I was over charged for the room service from my daughter room which I hv paid when checking out. My daughter who went shopping n met me at the airport told me that she did not call for any room service. There was also several phone calls early morning during our 5 nights stay of some organised tours which we did not registered. This is very annoying as the calls came at around 6 am!
Review 40:Good location.
Review 41:For $40.00 per head for Breakfast at the Conservatory, left a little to be desired, and to actually get service to clean away our used dishes was a mammoth effort, then to get a Latte or Cappucino was another effort :(
Review 42:The fact that after our function at Studio 3 we were able to walk to our Room, without worrying about driving, relax then get up the next morning and go and have our breakfast
Review 43:When ever we stay in Melbourne we stay at this hotel. It's not right in town but your near lots of nice restaurants and boutiques. Staff are always happy and friendly and rooms are spacious and comfortable. Taxis are readily available out side and Casino across the road but it's not noisy at all.
Review 44:Not value for money. Breakfast not included. Basic amenities met but nothing special. No complimentary Bottled Water for Hotel Guests in the room. Not many TWIN ROOMS to accommodate preference on a public holiday weekend.
Review 45:Convenient for folks who patronize the casino. Several eateries within reach. Low to High Budget. Friendly Staff and bellboys.
Review 46:We love the place we go when it's our birthdays and our anniversary it was our 41st this time, had a great time at the casino of cos and the rooms are lovely .
Review 47:Staff were very helpful in making my Hasband's 70 Birthbay and gests of 36 a great Day and night stay every one had a great time . Thank you Mary Peatling
Review 48:Breakfast was left to be desired, no a huge choice and didn't get tea or coffee, TV in room not been able to be watched as the bed was higher than the TV position
Review 49:Location was excellent
Review 50:Trouble with electric signs to "clean, make my room up" , switched signs on 2 days , however, I must have not done it correctly, & m No cleaning of room.yuck:(
Review 51:Great position, fantastic pool & fitness area
Review 52:I stayed at the Crown a Towers and didn't pay as much to stay at the Promenade and was a little disappointed in the standard. It was clean and nice but relatively expensive. I feel I paid for the name.
Review 53:I would like to see some faster WI-FI.
Review 54:The staff were well mannered and tendered to our needs. A particular thank you to the cleaner that went out of her way to assist my family and I when we had difficulties entering our room.
Review 55:The full panel windows which provided the external view from the hotel room are dusty. Need to be clean.
Review 56:Free WiFi in the rooms and lobby area. Linked way that leads to the food court and restaurants located at Crown Tower.
Review 57:It was a smoking room but no ashtray ? Needed more coffee sachets in the room. 1 sachet per cup is not enough, so only having 4 meant having to ask for more. A good amount would be 6-8.
Review 58:The bed was fantastic.
Review 59:All food requirements great for tourists, but \ suggest some dry biscuits for diabetic or sugar free clients.
Review 60:Staff were attentative, friendly and only too willing to assist us with me having to visit in a wheel chair after a foot operation several\ months ago
Review 61:Bed was too hard, and no bath
Review 62:Great night stay in Melbourne for the night, bed needs to have a soft topper on them and the bathrooms need to have a bath, then the stay would have been perfect
Review 63:it wasnt bad but when booking in it would have been great if staff had of explained the undercover walkway that took us into the crown instead of us looking like lost sheep
Review 64:Oh my the bed and pillows were just the best Comfort plus Snuggled in and had the best sleep arose later than we are use too we meant to ask house keeping where the pillows wete purchased and meant to check what underlay they used 10/10 for us
Review 65:Housekeeping hygiene - water glasses had pink lipstick & fingerprints. Left them out for housekeeping to attend, they just flipped back over & left as if "cleaned". Big hygiene/infection issue. Disgusting. Room maintenance also needs reviewing.
Review 66:Excellent location for business conferencing. Front of house staff very attentive. Dining/food was wonderful. Nice atmosphere.
Review 67:Just the prices. The mini bar and snacks were very expensive. And it would've been nice if we were shown to our room by staff.
Review 68:We liked the convenience of not just being in the middle of the city, but being in the entire crown complex. The food, shopping, casino and parking was a little less stressful when traveling with the kids.
Review 69:I was dissappointed with the room i booked a room online with a different picture than actual and the view wasn't that great.
Review 70:I liked the cleanliness of the room
Review 71:could not cool down bedroom, and found a white tail spider roaming around the room and having to wait for 2 hours for our second room to be ready
Review 72:most staff was friendly and helpfull
Review 73:Room was dated. Electric drapes and sheers did not work. TV volume would revert to mute each time you changed the volume. Bed uncomfortable along with pillows
Review 74:I thought the valet parking was expensive, We stayed 2 days and only used the car once for a total of $70
Review 75:I loved the location and the view was amazing.
Review 76:Have stayed here before and always enjoyed our experience. The friendly staff always go above and beyond by doing all the 1%ers. From a small gift to congratulate us on our engagement to allowing us to leave our car and bags there all day while we spent the day in the city even though we had checked out. Would definitely stay again.
Review 77:We got stuck in the lift on the way down to the gym but the manager have us both free buffet breakfast, we came back up to complimentary wine in an ice bucket and Lindt chocolates to say sorry which was very nice of them
Review 78:Rooms were great, bathroom was lovely and clean with toiletries, coffee available with coffee cups/wine glasses and whiskey glasses, bed was so comfy!
Review 79:There are three styles of corner suites available, but that is not disclosed anywhere. If you book a corner suite because of the sweeping ceiling to floor window, which is on the web site, then make sure that's what you going to get!!!
Review 80:Pool and spa were great. Corner suite with floor to ceiling window was lovely.
Review 81:Honestly. ..nothing. Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time and I'm in the hotel industry!
Review 82:The pool facilities were amazing...a pool with a view. Plus the pool was at a beautiful temperature!
Review 83:The staff were all lovely! Our room was extemely clean and comfortable.Really loved that we could access the casino without having to go outside, felt very safe .
Review 84:having to leave at end of my holiday
Review 85:very clean and comfortable rooms. Everything you need is only a short walk away. My favourite place to stay while in Melbourne
Review 86:The location was great only a 15 min walk to city centre. Tram stations were close and it was good to be so near the crown complex with many places to eat and things to do.
Review 87:I thought it was a bit overpriced for the size of the room.
Review 88:Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location, close to city and entertainment. Chose to stay here for convenience to function.
Review 89:The hotel does not offer free parking for guests. We had to park at the multi-level complex car park which was expensive.
Review 90:I had high expectations of this hotel and was not disappointed. We had a corner room which offerred great city views. The room was well appointed and very clean. Pool and deck area was very nice although it did get quite crowded with children. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was expensive but quite sumptuous.
Review 91:The breakfast. We went there only once, after we have used the food court in the crown entertainment complexe
Review 92:The location very convenient near the crown complexe, the yara river and the city The comfort of the room ans especially the bed Nice bathroom The swimming pool
Review 93:I was asked on arrival if it was a special occasion and a bottle of wine and chocolates were sent to the room for my partners 40th. This was a very lovely and appreciated gesture. We have 6 children and were just happy to have our first child free night away in 6 years but to have these extras were magnificent. Thankyou
Review 94:I was on level 6 and my room had a view of the carpark not great.
Review 95:Everything is great about this hotel is so beautiful helpful friendly staff and a great location. Beds are heaven.
Review 96:Thought for the price it would have been nice to have bath/spa in the room. We were advised that we would be receiving a bottle of sparkling wine as a gift seeing as it was a special occasion, which we never received.
Review 97:Pool and gym area were great.
Review 98:Parking should be free for hotel guests !!!
Review 99:Loved the hotel, staff, room view, the pillows were to die for. So good we bought some !!! Extra clean and best location
Review 100:Had a friend visiting, another front desk lady ( dark hair, long ponytails, wearing glasses) was really rude to my friend. She wasn't really friendly nor helpful when asked to call to my room, even told my friend they didnt have me staying there.
Review 101:Front desk lady (blonde hair) was really friendly giving us complimentary late check out. Great location and connected to crown complex.
Review 102:Valet parking difficult to find wrong location marked on map that i downloaded from crown and only saw entrance after we passed it
Review 103:Convenient to walk to function we were attending at crown
Review 104:Only two things rocky table at breakfast annoying and should be given hot water for tea as doesn't stay hot when tea is poured and can very strong.
Review 105:I loved that my request for a view was listened too. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Bed was very comfortable and plenty of room to enjoy. Views amazing and very room was imaculately clean. Would definitely stay again.
Review 106:The only thing we could pick is the cups, they are too small should have mugs.

Review 108:Air conditioning, shower was woeful, bedsheets were dirty, overall maintenance was a problem
Review 109:Great Location, easy check in, good staff, very efficient, access to casino.
Review 110:We are a young couple with young children and have not had a night to ourselves in years. We got to spend the night at Crown Promenade Melbourne as an Anniversary present. The Hotel was beautiful, clean and very modern. The view was amazing & breath taking. Now the service, the service was absolutely immaculate. Everything was so smooth, our questions were answered straight a way & attended with not one hassel. Crown staff made our stay worth every cent & we cannot wait to try to get a night here again. Thank you so much for making my Husband & I feel & look young again, also for making our stay one of the best nights we have ever had. Service & Staff are 20/10.
Review 111:Staff at breakfast were a bit slow collecting used plates off the tables. The tv had lots of stations but I like to have a radio in the room. Unfortunately there wasn't one.
Review 112:The hotel is at Southbank if that's where you want to be. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and fairly quiet. Bathroom was great.
Review 113:Bed was shocking great big dip in bed terrible for $1000 for two rooms for one night overly priced not five star three star really disappointed better places to stay in Melbourne
Review 114:Robe in room was dirty and stained, asked housekeeping for a replacement and it never arrived. View from room was not great, will be selecting a city view room next time.
Review 115:Buffet was excellent Pool View was amazing Location to Crown casino Our room order food was excellent
Review 116:size of room for price paid, last time had larger room noisy family in adjoining room restricted movie selection
Review 117:location facilities breakfast pool, sauna setup convenient parking
Review 118:Loved the proximity of everything within the Crown Complex. Never a dull moment. Walking distance to all activities or just a quick trip on the trams. Loved every minute of our stay. We certainly will be coming back.
Review 119:Everything was fabulous!
Review 120:The corner room looking over the river with our complimentary champagne and chocolates for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Thankyou Crown!
Review 121:As we arrived on our level we exited the lift and were surprised by a non smoking sign but underneath it was a bin with a sand tray on top of it with many cigarette buts in it. Clearly a smoking floor. Also the air itself had the stale smell of smoke. At that time my husband was going through cancer treatment so this was upsetting to me. My friend spoke to a lass on the desk when we came downstairs we were told they we fully booked and no other rooms available anywhere. Upon checking out I mentioned it to the young man and he was excellent as I explained my situation etc. so my future records will note non smoking room only. In the past we have had smoking rooms but of course those needs are no longer required.
Review 122:Always love the presentation of the hotel on arrival - looks very prestigious. Staff on the check in desk are ample and very friendly and respectful. Twin beds are hugely roomy & pillows are fabulous Bathroom layout is perfect. Plenty of bench space. View fabulous
Review 123:we were so central we just walked everywhere and it didn't take long to get anywhere. Being close to good quality eating establishments was great
Review 124:Location and convenience to everything. The area of the complex is big, giving us easy access to food courts, restaurants, shops, cinema, and casino, among other amenities.
Review 125:access room earlier, and tv stand is to low to watch tv in bed.
Review 126:late check out
Review 127:Not being told the money wouldn't go back into your account for at least a week
Review 128:Everything but the deposit money length of return time
Review 129:The views of Melbourne from our room were spectacular!
Review 130:Nothing
