Reviews for La Corte Del Re
Review 1:If you are driving, the luggage can be delivered to the door, and then the car needs to be parked some 15 minutes walk away, but this is not really a problem.
Review 2:The greeting by the staff was warm and welcoming. The full studio apartment is spacious and very comfortable. Apartment is very well appointed. The location could not be better as it is right on the main piazza. Wi-Fi signal is strong.
Review 3:The property was as advertised....well located, filled with the tradition, and well maintained. The owner was a delight. The value was outstanding. We loved the ambiance of the place and the care that had gone into keeping it up.
Review 4:The parking was a bit of a hike from the hotel although if you timed it right you could park for free. This is the only thing we did not like, but it certainly did not detract from our stay.
Review 5:This was a great place, the location is right next to the main piazza. Easy walking to basically everything. And Arezzo is an amazing hill town.
Review 6:Fantastic locations near front of Piazza Grande. Beautiful B&B, the rooms are big and have a full kitchen, you feel like you are in an apartment! Lovely decoration and they take breakfast to your room, thanks Lorenza!
Review 7:the personnel are charming, extraordinarily helpful, and the hotel is really beautiful. moreover, the owner, Franca, took us to the train station when we left!
Review 8:Good to be close to the action but this also meant close to the hourly bell ringing.
Review 9:Very close to the action in Arezzo. Rooms spacious and bed comfortable.
Review 10:Nothing to dislike....
Review 11:Excellent room, spacious, comfortable with a great bathroom and in a very central location on the old square. Our room had a Etrucean wall in it. You can drive right up to the property then free parking on the other side of the cathedral.
Review 12:Nothing really..maybe only the fact that Breakfast starts a bit 'late' at 08.30, but since we had to check-out early we were provided yoghurts in the room. The coffee maker, coffee and tea were already present in the mini- kitchen, which we highly appreciated! Can be noisy in the evening in case of city events on the main square, but that's the price of staying right there and having the view - we enjoyed it, if for someone its a problem, maybe ask a room facing a quieter area. Anyway - one of the best hotels , worth the rating!!!
Review 13:Location in the main square -_heart of the city! Exceptionally beautiful room with frescoes on the ceiling and a view on the square!!!!! Super kind, available, professional and attentive staff anticipating any question a tourist might have- never seen that before- just call them in advance if your arrival hour is around the break time (13.00-16.00)or if you are in doubt for parking (its not permitted in the city walking area, but hotel arranges permit of 20 min standby to (un)load luggage upon request and recommends nearby free parking) or if you have difficulties with steps ( upper floor has separate entrance to another street avoiding steps). Grazie di tutto!! Se torneremo ad Arezzo, torneremo da voi!
Review 14:Not a bad experience but could have done with at least one comfortable chair in the room to relax in. Breakfast lacked a bit of variety.
Review 15:Great location, friendly staff, and real attention to detail.spacious room in beautiful old building with great period decor. Mini kitchen facilities very useful. Handy for everything in the old town of Arezzo.
Review 16:The bed area was up a flight of rather steep stairs, right under the roof, so no head height. There was also a slippery wooden floor up there making us slightly nervous!
Review 17:Helpful staff. Lovely historic building, nicely restored/ converted. Kitchen area was unexpected and could have been really useful for a longer stay.
Review 18:Breakfast was quite poor. Only coffee and sweet crossaints. A little fruit, cheese and cold cuts would have helped.
Review 19:We were warmly received by the owner/manager, made comfortable, given directions, etc. The room was large, had a kitchenette, comfy bed. All perfect.
Review 20:Cama com colchão sofrível Café fraco Vaso sanitário solto Luz da cozinha queimada Estacionamento longe Fumo na recepção, cheiro desagradável.
Review 21:localização Atendimento
Review 22:I couldn't seem to find the microwave plug in, nor did I ask, so it wasn't that important.
Review 23:This hotel (the owner insists on calling it a "home") is built on Etruscan ruins that are 2,500 years old; the wooden beams are much more recent, only 1,000 years old! So, there is an amazing combination of old architecture and modern furnishings. The location is just off the Piazza Grande, one of Italy's unique squares.
Review 24:The breakfast is not satisfying enough for us.
Review 25:First, the owner is a rather interesting character, with a truly Italian hospitality. She is actually quite picky about the quality of her hotel. She expects floral fragrance in the rooms to greet new guests. And her hospitality somehow bridge the language gap; no matter what your problem might be, she tries her very best to make you understand how to get around. Second, the croissants she provides is really good. Third the rooms are rather nice. Last but not least, the location is perfect.
Review 26:The location was tremendous, right on the Piazza Grande where the antique market is held. The facilities are magnificant with very unique rooms and classic decorations. The staff was very helpful and I even received a call warning me of the recent snow so I could adjust my arrival time to be safe. Will stay here again. It was a bargain.
Review 27:All bedrooms are at least one flight up, and there is no elevator. Anyone with a mobility impairment should be aware of this.
Review 28:Staff was very courteous, helpful, friendly. Located right on the Piazza Grande. I would definitely stay at the Corte del Rè again.
Review 29:Our room was about 50 stone stairs up, and overlooked the yard and washing lines. Breakfast was sweet ! Jam cake, jam croissant, sweet fruit yoghurt, shop bought toast/rusk, with guess what - jam. Just fresh plain bread would have been nice ! Parking a long walk away and expensive.
Review 30:lovely old building, a few steps away from the city centre. Very pleasant hostess, who spoke good French, but not much English
Review 31:They open at 4:00. They NEVER told us that. So we waited and waited.... It IS very difficult to park in this town. It cost us a fortune. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING OVERNIGHT IN THIS TOWN BECAUSE OF THAT. just visit and go sleep somewhere else.
Review 32:location
Review 33:The hostess is so nice. When she knows I have to leave early to catch the train, she prepared the cake, coffee and tea in the room. I really appreciated that a lot!!!
Review 34:Hard to find as entrance is very insignificant' Almost impossible to get to by car and hotel had to call police because you have to drive in a restricted area. Parking is about 10 mins walk away with escalators to and from it.
Review 35:Quirky place with huge rooms. Basic individual breakfast but no buffet. Good position for sightseeing. Wi-Fi worked fine
Review 36:A quibble only - breakfast is fine but sweet perhaps for northern tastes. The coffee is decently strong though!
Review 37:Excellent location and spacious, individually-furnished and styled rooms. If you can get the rooms with a view they are a special treat, but the other rooms are also very agreeable to be in. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:It's location is superb. The room was the biggest we've known in 40 years' travelling. The welcome was effusive. The ambience atmospheric.
Review 40:Very spacious and central - across square from Medieval church and near church with piero Della Francesca frescoes. Staff very helpful with parking directions.
Review 41:Couldn't use microwave as not right plug on it, mattress very hard. My room very dark needed lights during day.
Review 42:Franka very charming and helpful, breakfast in room, location.
Review 43:Only thing was kitchen not functional and smell from courtyard from plumbing.
Review 44:This hotel is a few feet of main square. Close to restaurants, clean friendly staff. Nice rooms lots of stone walls dates back to 13 century. Good breakfast. Arezzo is beautiful town lots of history and not too crowded.
Review 45:Breakfast was very basic. The hotel was hard to find even with sat nav; as it is in the heart of the old town we had to make a couple of concentric circles around one way streets to find it. It wasn't an issue, but car parking was in a paid car park about 10-15 minutes' walk away.
Review 46:Location: right on the Grande Piazza. Welcome: warm and helpful. Room: well-equipped kitchen though we didn't use it during our one night stay other than to make tea and coffee.
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:This is very nice small hotel in the old building directly on the Main Square. The personeel of hotel was very nice and attentive to all details. The room we got was perfect, with a view on the square. If we go to Arezzo again, we would definetly book this hotel.
Review 49:I like my coffee a bit stronger and next time I would ask for that. But with half a dozen beautiful cafes right outside the door, it also makes sense to just go outside an enjoy Arezzo, or take advantage of the kitchen in the rooms to make your own.
Review 50:This is simply an outstanding property in the heart of Arezzo. It has charm, history, an absolutely terrific staff who insisted on carrying my bags plus it is spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable -- my room even had a small kitchen, and I hope to return some day to stay for several days. The air con worked and despite a warning from the owner that the wifi sometimes had trouble penetrating the 14thc. walls, I had no trouble getting a good signal. Cannot recommend this place too highly. The price is terrific.
Review 51:Wifi didn't work. The breakfast is Italian, sweet and sober.
Review 52:The lady of the house was very nice. The room - en suite - very big, quiet and clean. We could stop before the house and then park our car in a big parking outside the center (the way is a bit confusing)
Review 53:Taking bags up 3 flights and parking, BUT that's part of the Arezzo experience
Review 54:Great location
Review 55:Wi-Fi patchy.
Review 56:Welcoming & helpful staff. Extremely clean. Fantastic location. Well appointed.
Review 57:The staff and ofcourse "Franca" The room although the shower is small but that's it.
Review 58:Wonderful locatopn and staff was helful in finding parking and suggesting where to eat.
Review 59:Pleasant, helpful staff.
Review 60:The furnishings were quite worn and our room was very dark- on the interior air shaft.
Review 61:This was nicely situated and pleasant staff.
Review 62:I liked the little kitchen even though we didn't use it on a one night stay, but I will definitely come back and stay longer.
Review 63:I liked it all, no complaints.
Review 64:Franca and her staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Review 65:The front desk, and the hotel was closed when I arrive at the scheduled time
Review 66:The situation, and the advice for everything to do in Arezzo.
Review 67:The location, the attention to detail in the room, the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful owner
Review 68:Would have preferred more protein for breakfast.
Review 69:The room was gorgeous. Loved the mix of old and new.
Review 70:Beautifully renovated in amazing old building in central Arezzo. Friendly manager. Great value. Loved everything.
Review 71:Poor internet wifi connection
Review 72:Everything
Review 73:Very loud church bells nearby were heard almost all night every 15mn, making it hard to sleep...
Review 74:Great location, very nice staff.
Review 75:WiFi working but no internet although connected.
Review 76:locatin, great friendly staff, architecture of lobby and some rooms are gorgeous
Review 77:We just arrived on the Sat-sun of the month when the Antique Fair was on . We so much enjoyed the stay ,superb staff , Etruscan atmosphere in the rooms, fine breakfast as part of room service and the ride back to the station
Review 78:Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Very clean and stylish. Good value for money, I had kitchen facilities too, so it's more of an apartment than just a room. Breakfast was brought to me in my room - much appreciated.
Review 79:Franca, the owner goes out of her way to accommodate her guests. She drove us to our car on our departure, then was on her way to pick up guests at the train station. Just a wonderful location, staff, room, breakfast and such a warm welcome. We have no hesitations in recommending this small hotel to any one we know, we're only sorry we didn't stay longer.
Review 80:We truly loved our stay at La Corte Del Re. The location could not be better - right in the heart of Arezzo. The staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful. We had some trouble finding parking and we also had to get to a wedding just outside the city - the staff were incredibly generous with their help and attention. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view of the plazza. The staff were also able to suggest some incredible authentic Tuscan dinning options - the one we ended up going to was fantastic and filled with locals on a Friday evening. We had a private breakfast waiting for us before we departed.
Review 81:Located overlooking Piazza Grande, within walking distance of EVERYTHING. Franca will collect and deliver you to railway station, and is very helpful, wants your stay to be great. Suzanna brought us breakfast and coffee every morning. A real home base in Arezzo! We didn't have a car so access and parking were no problem.
Review 82:we stay in hotels many times every month but this one is the best place we ever had: the owner is fantastic and makes you feel at home at the first minute in this amzing place! era tutto fantastico, niente di negativo, tutto perfetto!!! la signora Franca, il posto stupende.
Review 83:Very difficult to find hotel as it is in the heart of the old town. Itwould have been easier if proprietor had provided instructions on how tofind the place. Gps had us navigate through the heart of the old town. After we arrived we found a far easier and more direct route. No on-siteparking. Proprietor directed us to free parking which was 1.5kilometersfrom the hotel. Breakfast adequate but basic.
Review 84:Location in heart of old town. Restaurants near by and proprietorsuggested a good quality reasonably priced Italian resuaurant thatwe visited and thoroughly enjoyed the meal - L'aganima. Sightseasy reach. Clean smallish room. Friendly staff but there werelanguage problems.
Review 85:We had spacious, beautiful room with fine view room. The personnel was lovely and very helpful, even driving us from and to the railway station. Homely feeling combined with excellent service.
Review 86:The bed in our room was not clean, hairs found under the pillow and sofa. Strongly suggest that the hotel uses vacuum cleaner to their room. The hotel said that they are running a shuttle bus service for guest, but we haven't seen any car when we arrived and left, as the lady (hotel owner) promised us.
Review 87:Extremely noisy! We were there on a Monday night but the Church bells continuously ring through the night every 30 minutes right in your ear so got no sleep. Very poor attempt at breakfast.
Review 88:The next morning it turns into a disaster of arguments. On the arriving day we became the wrong information about the hotel parking. We booked the hotel with the information 'free parking'. We ask for the hotel parking, they sent us to a payable parking. Next morning the boss told us - next time you better ask for the free parking.
Review 89:In the beginning there was a nice welcome.
Review 90:the breakfast was excellent for a sweet toothed Italian but had no savoury - e.g. for diabetics
Review 91:the whole atmosphere, building & kitchenette feature
Review 92:Our room was not what I expected.I think that it was the worst room in the hotel.I looked at other rooms and they were very cosy.Breakfast was also very bad.It was like they wanted us to leave immediately...It was a pity
Review 93:In general it is a nice place.Location is superb
Review 94:The shower had dirty stuff from previous guests (i.e. shampoo, soap, etc). That was... disturbing. Although the hotel says that it has parking close by, this is not true. We were sent to a public outdoors parking lot that was at least 20 minutes by foot. From where I stand, that does not qualify as "parking available close by", also since getting the car to the hotel is difficult due to no traffic allowed in the center of the city. Also, we were not expecting to have to call the owner to get her to open up the place for us. Although, admittedly, she appeared in like 5 minutes, and we did arrive before the check-in time. Wi-fi signal was almost non-existant, and I had to move around to be able to use it. The breakfast was... not very good. It is a yogurt, a pastry, and a hot beverage. It is not BAD, but it could really be better. Finally, the "view". was not... such. It was a window to an internal patio, and we did not get a lot of air or light from that window.
Review 95:The woman was very nice. The room itself (not the bathroom; see the con's) was clean, and it was also quite beautiful. It had many useful facilities (e.g. a kitchen). The location is outstanding: right next to the central piazza.
Review 96:Arrival to the door of the hotel is extremely complicated and difficult, and parking is remote involving a 10 minute hike.
Review 97:The location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to the historic part of the city
Review 98:Great location right on the Piazza Grande, the rooms were beautiful and comfortably furnished. Breakfast is served in the room, and small kitchen is nice for tea or easy meals. Franca is wonderful and welcoming, and her staff is kind and helpful. Highly recommend a stay in the Corte del Re and in Arezzo, which is a lovely town.
Review 99:While it didn't bother us, its location in the centre of the old town will be extremely challenging to North American drivers.
Review 100:Location was excellent, hostesses were very helpful and made great recommendations for places to eat.
Review 101:excellent location, helpful friendly staff who went out of their way to assist with car parking & providing information about "must see" sights
Review 102:Shower a little small and no room safe.
Review 103:Perfect location in the charming Old City part of Arezzo! Friendlymanagement...we were collected and taken back to the railway station.Room in an atmospheric building with many attractive details E.G.Frescoes ceilings. Small kitchenette.
Review 104:Superb location, excellent welcome and both owner and staff helpful and charming.
Review 105:Wonderful stay. Great host. We will be back.
Review 106:Hard to reach if by Car.
Review 107:Being in a core center of the town.
Review 108:The hotel is a very, very nice renovated old palace - very lovely and comfortable. Nice to stay there.
Review 109:Very friendly hostess , beautiful rooms , comfortable bed , very clean , romantic decoration , delicious breakfast .... One of the best .....

Review 112:Location superb, staff helpful, room large and well equipped.
Review 113:Extremely friendly and helpful. Great location, clean, perfect.
