Reviews for Boutique Hotel Villa Sostaga
Review 1:High price, difficult location that is far from the lake, ice-cold swimming pool, poor selection of breakfast, stiff attitude of front desk.
Review 2:Great view, nice villa, very friendly staff who serve food.
Review 3:it was difficult to get in there ... but it worth it !
Review 4:The food was amazing The restaurant has the most beautiful view on the lake ... Highly recommended
Review 5:Our only critizism is the orange juice served with the otherwise delicious breakfast. It is your typical Italian 3 star hotel sugar syrup from a juice dispenser unworthy of a place like Villa Sostaga.
Review 6:What is there not to like? We have been regulars of Villa Sostaga since the opening of the hotel some 10 years ago and we try to go there as often as we can. We just love everything about it. The rooms, the wonderful location high above Lake Garda, the beauty of the main villa, the stunnimg view, the amazing restaurant with its creatively selected wine list, but above all the great service and the friendliness of both staff and owners.
Review 7:did get tired of the winding road down to the village, but quiet location made up for that
Review 8:the location set well above the hustle and bustle of the lake, cooling breezes, fabulous views
Review 9:Family run and hands on with attention to detail. Very welcoming. Upkeep excellent. Restaurant very good Italian cuisine with a twist to it, all local products, amd all made inhouse.

Review 15:Stunning views, welcoming staff at all levels Good information and advice about excursions
Review 16:Beautiful views but lacked the personal touch for a boutique type property.
Review 17:Rooms are a little bit noisy.
Review 18:Great location. Great property. Great view. Great styling. Great food. Great host. Great house dog.

Review 21:Nothing I can think of.
Review 22:The beauty and uniqueness of the hotel, the breathtaking view from the breakfast terrace.
Review 23:Very Noisy rooms the Food was average.
Review 24:The walks behind the Hotel
Review 25:A bit noise cleaning stuff Breakfast could be better
Review 26:Perfect location Friendly stuff Michelin star dinner
Review 27:Amazing hotel
Review 28:Location Pool Food Staff were so polite and professional
Review 29:We were on our honeymoon, and it was the perfect place to relax. It's very romantic. The views are spectacular, the staff very friendly, and food, delicious! They also have a lovely treatment room and masseuse, which was a real treat. We had a wonderful time.
Review 30:Room was average and quite dated, no coffee machine or bath. Not worth €250 a night! Atmosphere wasn't great and the staff were polite but we didn't get the comfortable/family feel you expect from a boutique hotel. Resturant menu had only one vegetarian option which was a starter! A long way from the town and coast-15min drive down the hill. Breakfast was very average-just a few cereals and breads. Wouldn't go back.
Review 31:Amazing views and pool.
Review 32:Expensive Pool not heated Double room was two single beds pushed together, very uncomfortable Strong smell of smoke in reception areas Sound proofing of rooms was not the best (we were in the annex) Noisy plumbing
Review 33:Beautiful location Period house with lovely furnishings and decor Friendly staff Great food
Review 34:there is a minor thing that the mattress is a bit soft !
Review 35:the setting is perfect overlooking the lake and mountains behind! the helpfulness and friendliness of staff is very highly rated. the owner us very welcoming especially! overall it's a very very high quality hotel!
Review 36:Wonderful villa. Great owners and staff. Romeo especially :) All at the highest level. Restaurant deserves a Michelin star. A huge collection of wines.
Review 37:Too difficult to find, must communicate clearly with the hotel beforeabout this location and gps inputs. Don't drive to the hotel at night, you will get lost for quite sure.
Review 38:Nice lake view and good setting. Free room upgrade with a bigbalcony, nice!
Review 39:We have just returned from a four day trip to Lake Garda, this was our first trip to the area and we very much chose our hotel from the No. 1 spot given to it with the accompanying fantastic reviews on Trip Advisor..You may conclude at the end that i should have done a little more research as to the location and facilities on offer, and not just relied on the review postings ,and i think this would be a fair point.I would like to write a constructive review of our stay at Villa Sostaga - Boutique Hotel ,i totally understand this is from my 'English' perspective and some comments may not apply to the requirements or tastes of other nationalities .We stayed four nights priced at just over £210 a night,we are a couple in our late 50 s and have been together for a number of years, the reason for telling you this is to highlight that the pastime of bedroom gymnastics and laughing at each others jokes and stories that we had not heard before was not likely to while away as much time as it might for a newlywed honeymooner. From the start i would like to say in my previous employment i have worked very closely with some famous major 5 star hoteliers while they either set up and monitored their hotel chains... i only point this out to highlight that i am aware of what is and is not expected at this price level..The location of the hotel is alpine like and 8k + drive up the hill and along a narrow drive so once you are there your options of going anywhere else of a evening are virtually zero unless you want a hairy late night drive,an enormous taxi bill, or a 2 hour S.A.S type route march. The hotel is in a lovely setting, the staff were friendly and efficient and the place was clean and well run.,also there is a fantastic bulldog called romeo that is in charge of the place .
Review 40:View and nice staff
Review 41:Be prepared for the drive here, its not easy if you are tired. The bed was too soft.
Review 42:Amazing location. Great views. Big room with intetesting decor and well maintained facilities. Resteurant on location - top tier. What you see on line is what you get.
Review 43:The Sostaga is a beautiful place, but there is a lot space to improve! Decoration: most of the details are classy, lobby, restaurant look great but in between you find really corny/cheesy elements, weird modern pictures on the wall, etc. Please keep it classic! The pool area needs a makeover! The furniture is not boutique standart! What about music at the pool, fruit offerings, etc After 2.30pm you don't get food at the Hotel till dinner. No service at the pool... This place is a jewel but there is so much potential to make it special, more modern and cooler...
Review 44:Amazing view, far above the lake... Great historic vibe surrounds the place. The main house decoration / restaurant was super classy. Perfect to spend a relaxed weekend at the pool.
Review 45:Food was good, not spectacular and you need a car to leave the grounds, but we really had no desire to leave the grounds (except go for a coupleof good hikes right off the grounds).
Review 46:Beautiful location. We took a ferry to the nearest town and the owner'swife picked us up and drove us to the villa. We were on our honeymoonand loved it. Highly recommended.
