Reviews for Hotel L'Aretino
Review 1:The hotel was on an extremely convenient location, in town, short walk from train station. WONDERFUL staff.. Friendly, helpful, spoke Englush. EXCELLENT breakfast, VERY COMFY AND CLEAN ROOMS.
Review 2:The breakfast offers a wide range of sweet cakes and pastries, but very little of more international choice of bread, cheese etc. Wifi was not very easy to access.
Review 3:Location and very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 4:We have visited this hotel on four occasions and at different times of the year . Never fails to please . We will most certainly use the hotel again and highly recommend to others visiting Arezzo
Review 5:Great location, easy walking distance to main square and train station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Simple but adequate breakfast. Would stay again. Excellent value for money.
Review 6:Room has AC, wifi. They are very weak. We were in the unusually hot days. Even though I will not stay this hotel in the summer.
Review 7:Staff are VERY helpful. Good location. Spacious room.
Review 8:The hotel was conveniently located by the train station (but not too close) and access to the old town was easy. Room was clean and AC worked well. Nice breakfast - the woman working at the breakfast, who also cleaned the rooms, was very kind. The bakery next door was also very good.
Review 9:Monica, who speaks 7 languages (including excellent English) was extremely nice and accommodating, and her daughter, who works at the hotel as well, was also lovely. The room itself wasn't particularly huge or elegant, but the bed was comfortable; the air conditioning, while it could have been stronger in a sweltering heat wave, was still sufficient for a good night's sleep; the wifi generally worked fine; and the breakfast spread was generous. The hotel was also in an excellent location.
Review 10:that I could not change my booking online.
Review 11:great place for visitors who are there for the Oberlin in Italy series. We did not mind the walks. We so enjoyed the cafe next door.
Review 12:The only reason I didn't give "facilities" the highest rating is that they are limited. We didn't need any more than they had but for those looking for a lobby bar or lounge, that is missing. We didn't need it and could go next door to the darling bakery that was full service!
Review 13:We are normally in a group but this time on our own - what a treat! We were immediately made to feel at home by Monica! That warm feeling radiates through all the staff. It is not a slick, American style hotel but it is very comfortable and fit our needs perfectly. The location can NOT be beat!
Review 14:Not enough choice of savoury items at breakfast - too much cake! Carpet in the bedroom makes it feel rather old-fashioned.
Review 15:Exceptionally pleasant management.
Review 16:Monica the hotel owner is the most helpful and lovely lady we have met for a long time and she went out of our way to help us throughout our trip. We were not a 'group of friends' but a school trip comprising three adults and six pupils aged 9-11. She immediately put us at ease when we arrived, explaining how safe the hotel is about her night time staff etc. We loved her!
Review 17:My room which is facing the side street was very loud even as early as 6:30am.
Review 18:Monica was very kind, helpful, & always willing to give the extra mile to serve better. Truly a gem!
Review 19:Many breakfast items were stale, but OK on average. Was surprised that the room was so hot and stuffy at the beginning of May. No air-conditioning, so I wouldn't suggest this place from May-October. Wifi was poor; intermittent and slow connection. The only "English" channel was BBC, but audio was intermittent and visual was scrambled. Staff said their was nothing they could do about it. The room was basically clean, but I noticed on the second day that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. Also, I was very surprised to return after cleaning was done to find that my room door, while shut, wasn't locked. This is an OK place if you don't mind a few frustrations (wifi/TV) and don't expect much.
Review 20:The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent.
Review 21:The concierge was really fantastic - I came down with a bad cold and she gave me some cold tablets and checked on me next morning at breakfast to see how I was doing. She was also great pointing out things to do in Arezzo.
Review 22:Despite stated in the hotel description, the rooms do not have WIFI. There is though lounge with Internet access available
Review 23:Very friendly staff, helpful and flexible. Always ready to help!
Review 24:See above. Terrible impression. Is it normal to remove visitors to another hotel without asking and any apologies, inspite of booked reservation?! Very disappointing. Spoiled staying. Never again
Review 25:Nothing. We were not given a chance to see the hotel. We were just removed to the other hotel Contibental without any apologies or prior asking on our way to the place while arriving by train
Review 26:Friendly staff. Al the information you want.location was just perfect and super accomodation.i will come back again..and arezzo just has something magic!!
Review 27:-very convenient location -friendly personnel -wonderful breakfast Hotel L'Aretino, as well as other hotels were all full during an antique fair weekend, so we couldn't stay another night but made a trip to lovely Cortona while they stored our luggage.
Review 28:The room, for 3 in 3 beds, was pretty small. On the other hand, the price was right.
Review 29:This hotel is ideally located downtown, near fine restaurants and the amazing flea market, and some excellent museums and parks. The staff are very helpful, and provided extra pillows on request. The room was quiet and clean. Arezzo was a fine stop during high tourist season--not overcrowded. At the market, people had time to talk to you, and seemed to enjoy doing so. One of my favorite stops. There was cheap overnight parking (a few euros) just a few blocks away, and a space near the hotel to unload your car. Internet access was fine.
Review 30:The hotel whch is situated near everything, the train station, the main square and main shopping area. Wonderful reception, clean rooms and an added plus-no carpet in the bedroom!! Great breakfast and I would go back there again.
Review 31:A little noisy during the night
Review 32:What makes this hotel is the owner Signora Monica; she is incredibly hospitable and does her upmost to make your stay most comfortable. Her English is fabulous and rapport with clients friendly and genuine. Arezzo itself is a wonderful place to visit with many great art attractions and antique fair; coupled with Signora Monica our stay in Arezzo was truly memorable.

Review 41:location
Review 42:Tiny rooms but to be expected in excellent location.
Review 43:Position and great staff
Review 44:poor air condotioning; The room was very warm in the heat wave, but comfortable enough.
Review 45:Friendly and helpful staff, location.
Review 46:Poor wifi. Poor air conditioning. Water pressure in the shower too low.
Review 47:Friendliness of staff. Great locación.
Review 48:Air conditioning was very poor
Review 49:Very helpful and friendly and the location is excellent
Review 50:If I had had a single room I would be most unimpressed.
Review 51:Location, location, location. So easy to get to from the train station. Breakfast right on the canal. Safety.
Review 52:Friendly staff
Review 53:Friendly staff and great breakfast.
Review 54:Everything
Review 55:Nothing
Review 56:It wasn't in Cortona or Montepulciano, or on Lago di Trasimeno!
Review 57:Good location, large airy room.
Review 58:Morning front desk and breakfast staff was delightful
Review 59:Great location in the heart of Arezzo.
Review 60:Very noisy place!!!poor breakfast
Review 61:Great location - five minute walk from train/bus station and then in another five you are in the historic center.
Review 62:Very helpful and friendly reception. Thank you!
Review 63:Bed was a little firm for me, but I would stay again
Review 64:Amazing helpful staff, great breakfast, location, roof terrace, tea tray on request, lift
Review 65:Small room
Review 66:Location, helpful staff
Review 67:Fantastic host/owner
Review 68:Monica was so friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.
Review 69:The parking arrangement is fine, but completely baffling on arrival. I wasted quite a bit of time trying to figure out what to do. It might be useful to tell people coming by car more precisely where to go, although this might not always work, given Arezzo's complex street pattern.
Review 70:Unbelievably friendly staff--both women who were at the desk during my stay were amazingly warm and helpful. They explained the rather complicated parking situation to me, pointed out some sights I had not been aware of, offered me a coffee before my departure, overall made me feel very looked after. Also, the location is great, easy walking distance from all the sights.
Review 71:Could never get the WiFi to work.
Review 72:It was easy walking distance from the train station, even with luggage. Easy walking distance to all the sites in the city. Breakfast was excellent. The staff was fantastic and went out of their way to help. Gave great ideas for day trips and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
Review 73:The warmth of our reception from the young woman at the desk. She greeted us by name as though we were the people she most wanted to see. On our last day, when we had time to fill before catching out train she brought us tea in a little sitting room. I stayed at the Aretino a year ago, so this was a repeat visit, based on my happy experience then. A lovely hotel, just an easy walk from the station, but no distance from the attractions of the old town.
Review 74:Perfect location, very near train and bus station, but in the centre of Arezzo, too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very warm welcoming! Clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 75:It would have been good to have a safe in my room.
Review 76:The location was excellent, close to the Centro within easy walking of museums, churches, galleries etc. The shopping was also very good and places to eat nearby. The room was comfortable, with a good ensuite.
Review 77:Breakfast was so-so. Coffee was excellent but not many good options toeat as compared to other hotels we've stayed at in Arezzo.
Review 78:Excellent staff!!! Really worked hard to ensure we were happy.
Review 79:Parking facilities were limited
Review 80:Very helpful staff. The room was compact but furnished to a high standard. The location was perfect for visiting the centre of Arezzo
Review 81:We stayed here to break our journey towards cortona & orvieto. Hotel was clean & comfortable. Arezzo itself we did not like or feel good about.
Review 82:Fantastic location, very near train and bus station, in heart of beautiful, lively city. Rooms quiet and well-appointed. All the big attractions, including fabulous restaurants, bars and shops easily walkable. Staff go out of their way to help. Also speak good English.
Review 83:Music at the restaurant and .t.v too loud.the waitress not organised had to ask for more bread. Street noisy
Review 84:Monica Nicolas all the staff Smoking area outside seating area
Review 85:Room was a bit small, a bit expensive for what it was but I suppose okfor last minute booking.
Review 86:Very friendly, helpful and generous staff. Nice bathroom.
Review 87:Small old rooms.
Review 88:Lovely lady at reception. I had tried to book one night at short notice because our plans had changed. Only 3 of us would fit into the room so she found and extra single for my 14 year old son.
Review 89:The receptionist at the hotel could not do enough for us. She interested in who we were and why we were there and gave us great information about what we could see and where we could go.
Review 90:Although we would very highly recommend the hotel...the rooms are very simple & plain. But we did enjoy our stay.
Review 91:The owner/ operator Anika was awesome. She was extremely helpful above & beyond. She made us feel very comfortable in order to ask her questions or ask for suggestions. The hotel was very close to the train station so we were able to walk there. The buffet was very nice. An excellent restaurant was just across the street and we were easily able to walk the historical Arezzo area from the hotel.
Review 92:Everything about this hotel was not just as promised...it was better. I did not feel like a hotel guest; I felt like a guest of the family. I will stay at the Hotel Aretino every time I visit Arezzo. I came for business and will tell all of my colleagues to stay at this hotel when they travel to Arezzo for seminars and meetings.
Review 93:A little pricey but favourable against other hotels. Extremely small television!
Review 94:Breakfast good. Receptionist excellent, very friendly and helpful. Close to the Railway station
Review 95:It would be good to have eggs for breakfast as I personally prefer so and there are too much sweet things for breakfast.
Review 96:The hotel is situated in the center of Arezzo and very near to the train station (walking distance). The facilities are very good, the room is welcoming, clean and nice. I had also a nice balcony. The staff is very polite and nice. It was the first time I received an email from the hotel after making the booking through booking.com about special request I made in the booking. The internet in the room is fast and working well.
Review 97:Excellent staff (one of the receptionists was fluent in 7 languages!). Very friendly, accomodated every reasonable request , gave excellent recommendations for inexpensive but good quality restaurants. Great value for the traveler who is interested in visiting Arezzo and surrounding areas.
Review 98:The parking is described as "free" but is a nightmare. Forthat one reason I would never stay at this hotel ever again. I drove tothe hotel, and there was no place to park, they are off a main street onwhich there was no parking to be had, a noisy crowded busy street, withpeople honking, it was insane. I illegally double parked, and then ranbreathless down the alley on which the hotel's front door islocated, went into the lobby and was given a map of how to park. I triedto follow the directions but ended up by mistake in a paying lot andparked there out of sheer desperation. I then walked to where I thoughtthe actual parking might be and encountered a lovely residence where themanager told me that to enter his parking area, where it would be free,I would have to make an illegal turn. I did that, but then was so faraway from the hotel where I was staying that I had to call a taxi totake me and my luggage. The taxi took forever to come and the wholething for me was a perfectly dreadful experience. For someone who is nottraveling alone, or who speaks Italian, or who is good with maps, or whohas little or no luggage, this might be fine. For me, it was not.
Review 99:Bathtub. Very rare in Italy, as I discovered on this trip. Nice room.Helpful staff.
Review 100:I have traveled extensively and have spent 100's of nights in hotels, and I can say I have never been treated better by the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They treated us like old friends.
Review 101:Nothing.
Review 102:The staff were wonderful, the hotel was clean the rooms were quite nice. The breakfast was simple, but very good and the espresso was excellent.
Review 103:Excellent location in the centre, although it is in a walking street so GPS would guide you to turn where it is impossible. Parking is free and available in a partner hotel nearby. Staff is excellenet, very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are small but bathrooms are big and clean. Breakfast is OK by Italian standards, although the girl serving at the breakfast is not very efficient. Good place to stay and reasonably priced. Arezzo is beautiful town!
Review 104:Very outstanding, friendly and hospital hotel manager. Giving the impression she may solve every problem of your stay in this town, you will be in good hands if you stay there.
Review 105:It takes been for 40minutes from the hotel to Firenze by car or trainbut transportation is convenient.
Review 106:This hotel is pretty fantastic and price-friendly as well. It takes been40 minutes from the hotel to Firenze by car or train. If someone wouldlike good hotel but low expensive and no matter what the hotel is awayfrom Firenze, this hotle is dead good.
Review 107:Way too expensive, poor breakfast
Review 108:Friendly
Review 109:Location, location, location with clean comfortable accommodations. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Review 110:Our room was smelling cigarette.
Review 111:The location it's good and the staff it's great.
