Reviews for Hotel Damianii
Review 1:This boutique hotel is so nice and romantic that it dwarfs all the other hotels anywhere near it. For a romantic getaway, it would be hard to beat. It is worth the drive from Split. Note that, like essentially everywhere in Croatia, the main road runs between the hotel and the private beach.
Review 2:Everything was perfect, I've never stayed anywhere with staff that amazing before so it was quite a nice experience and the room was unbelievable!
Review 3:Brilliant and incredibly helpful staff, excellent facilities, nice food. Spacious, well appointed rooms with large terrace. Didn't use the beach, but facilities looked excellent. Traffic noise from the road in front, but otherwise can't be faulted.
Review 4:Amazing rooms, lovely beach beds, great staff particularly the restaurant head waiter, tasty food, generous breakfast. Not that much to do in the area though Omis is interesting for a night or two.
Review 5:Noisy road between swimingpool and beach. Small space between sunbeds on the beach.
Review 6:Modern design, comfortable spacious and clean room , bathroom and terrace, very helpfull staff, nice view from luxury and de luxe suite( not junior),nice small hotel, good breakfast and service.
Review 7:Good hotel with some excellent facilities. Nice pool and very good private area on the beach. Great restaurant with a good choice of food and plenty of it! Best of all - friendly and helpful staff.
Review 8:Fantastic, friendly, enthuastic staff. Beautiful hotel with huge rooms and a lovely pool. Excellent food, we ate every meal but one there on a four night stay.
Review 9:The ameneties were outstanding. Beautifully constructed property in a good location.Easy access to a small beach and restaurant/bar. The staff, particularly Tea,front desk manager and Mland were very helpful with excellent service.
Review 10:That we had to leave...
Review 11:Everything was more than we expect. Very nice recent hotel. Large private terrasse. Big jacuzzi in our room. Large bed very comfortable. Excellents drinks at the pool. Beautiful pool. Special mention to the waiter name Mladen who was very nice, intelligent, interesting and very professionnal. Thanks again
Review 12:Design of rooms were not great for functionality - velvet, leather, and carpet in hot weather with very weak Air Conditioning. The style, which was quite gaudi, was not my personal style of choice for a beach town but will please some. The standing shower had glass doors that leaked water all over the bathroom floor and the sinks were flat "bowls" that sprayed water everywhere when used. The room had a pungent smoke smell that took minutes to get accustomed to every time you walk in the door. The hotel is not children friendly. I would recommend couples only. WIFI is weak. The staff originally did not want to recommend any nearby restaurants as they are advertising their own restaurant. I would say that the town of Omis had better seafood in a few locations, but they are not walking distance and you need to take a 10 minute cab ride which is fairly easy. The beach front is very small with a lot of families crowding every inch of sand in front of the Damianii lounge section. The families here are from nearby rented apartments.
Review 13:The hot tub and private balconies were great and the bed was comfortable. The service was good - the waiters were generally confused when asked questions in English. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of options. The views from the beach and the Shooko bar across the street are gorgeous.
Review 14:There were some pubic hair leftovers on the floor in the bathroom, tuna pate for breakfast wasn't hand made as i would expect from the luxury restaurant, rice with main meal was just poor - you could taste rice not the other ingredients.
Review 15:Great staff, all in all accommodation achieved expectations and having private jacuzzi is really nice :)
Review 16:Location is quite far from split. Got a few nice beaches near it but if you plan on travelling to split everyday it can get a bit tiring. At least 45 mins each way by bus.
Review 17:Staff were amazing, hotel lovely and clean. Food was great too if just on the pricier side.
Review 18:Nothing at all. It's about a 15 minute walk into Omis but it's worth it.
Review 19:The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff were extremely helpful. We wish the hotel a lot of success.
Review 20:excellent hotel with world-class service, facilities and food very satisfied with our stay from the moment we arrive till our departure would definitely come back!
Review 21:The wifi does drop sometimes and the pool could be a bit wawarmer.Minor things really, this is a true gem, and I have hard time imagining that I will ever stay anywhere else when in Dalmatia. Can't wait to be back!
Review 22:Everything! Amazing staff, georgeous suite, amazing views, the upgrade that we got, the great food, the Bvlgari shower gels (I usually never use them, the comfy bed, the great shower and whirlpool, the welcome drinks, the teteras, the decor, closeness to the beach, the comfy loungers on the balcony, nice big tv, the TV in the bathroom, the fact that it feels personable and cosy, yet luxury. i was going to stay for one night but extended my stay, and I'm still here :D Might move ;) People who work here are just extremely lovely yet professional, just amazing, amazing staff! HEAVENLY, just heavenly!!!
Review 23:If there had to be a negative, it would be the location if the hotel. Was just back from a main rd and about 15-20 min walk into Omis. Because of its luxuriousness , u could stay there & not even leave the room !
Review 24:Staff were absolutely amazing ! 5* all the way. Hotel was out of this world . Very high end & luxurious . Would not hesitate to recommend
Review 25:Cold swimming pool and whirlpool which is OK when it is scorching hot outside during the day but unacceptable in the evening. Upon arrival and before using it the first time, we observed scum floating on the water in the private jacuzzi. We were told that the built in filter would clean this but it did not. Water was not cleaned or exchanged during our 6 night stay making this otherwise inviting feature unusable. The cot placed in the room for our daughter was a joke. Tiny, narrow and flimsy. The hotel is directly on the main coastal road so there is always traffic noise. If you close the windows and shutters then the roar of the traffic is reduced to slightly audible, yes, BUT then you hear the loud hum of the poorly vibration isolated jacuzzi pump all night. Even after switching ours off using the breaker panel, you could still distinctly hear the pump motors from the other rooms running while trying to sleep.
Review 26:Excellent breakfast and for the most part friendly staff. Room and bathroom were very clean (although the Jacuzzi in private washroom was not; the scum floating on water was disgusting. The light colored carpet in the room was vacuumed well but had lots of stains).
Review 27:Breakfast service - all individual orders that took too long - waited 20 minutes for 1st course. No view from terrace. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Mosquitoes. No alternative restaurants nearby. Weather.
Review 28:We had a junior suite which was quite comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Parking Good wi-fi. Well presented food.
Review 29:The junior suites are at the back overlooking a rock face only the more expensive rooms are at the front with sea view.
Review 30:Size of room, comfort of bed, breakfasts were fantastic, best ever including 4*hotels in UK. Great location on one of only sandy beaches on Dalmatian Coast with free sun loungers with mattresses. Food in restaurant at dinner was Michelin standard and the restaurant manager very helpful.
Review 31:The pillows were synthetic rather than feather - not a big issue, but they weren't that comfortable. Also, the quality of the good served at the beach isn't of the same standard as at the restaurant. A little disappointing.
Review 32:The room was spacious and very well appointed. Our room had a jacuzzi and sauna. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel on 2 nights and the good was excellent. The beach with loungers was also lovely.
Review 33:The only thing I would say needs to change is the Wi-Fi connection. The connection kept dropping out all over the hotel, & I had to re-enter the pass code to enable me to go online pretty much every time I used it i.e. if I went online then locked my phone, then unlocked it & tried to go back online I would have to put the code back in. This was a bit frustrating when I was trying to make a work Skype call, or download something, I just had to give in & use data which cost me.
Review 34:Fantastic service from the moment we arrived. The staff could not do enough to help us - at mealtimes, with any queries about excursions, with keeping us topped up with poolside drinks! They were so lovely as well - a pleasure to deal with, we really felt relaxed & welcome. Even before our stay when I emailed the response was prompt & very polite - despite what were probably inane questions! The food in the restaurant (& bar) was delicious; pricier than the other 'local' restaurants, but that is understandable for such quality & an amazing chef. The wine was also pricey, bumping the meal costs up. There was a great selection, but few in our price range! Fortunately we really enjoyed the Riesling at the lower end of the menu! Delicious. The hotel itself was very slickly designed, clearly all very thought out. It was pristine at all times, the staff clearly taking great care of everything. Despite it being peak season (middle of August) the hotel seemed fairly quiet & calm. We saw a few of the same faces some days, then new people would appear, but there never seemed to be more than a handful of people there at any one time. We managed to get the same sunbeds (the best ones in our opinion between the bar & the pool with the sun all day long!) every day easily no matter what time we came down!
Review 35:Omis is nice but it gets crowded and the area around the hotel has not much to offer.
Review 36:Professional and friendly staff, very good “a la carte” breakfast, big underground parking for free, excellent diner, welcome drink, beds and umbrellas on the beach and of course wonderful rooms!!
Review 37:Smell of the sewer! and it was very strong all the time, after complains, got air freshener:) so stayed in mix of sewer smell and freshener:)
Review 38:the room is very luxury, the hotel beach beds are great, swimming pool (but not as big as looks on photos)
Review 39:location not great as a bit noisy, but if it's a honeymoon or romantic getaway, doubt you'll be leaving the suite anyway!!!
Review 40:Best bathroom ever, exceeding expectations. wonderfully comfortable bed. Very quiet (soundproofed) rooms. For a four star, was very opulent, decadent and beautifully finished. did I mention the fabulous food in the in house restaurant. oh, and the wine".............
Review 41:-actually hôtel and staff are not guilty at all but the Beach Is really durty.
Review 42:-excellent staff closed to Customers. -Small hôtel So far, only 12 rooms.
Review 43:We stayed only one night at this Heaven on earth. Amazing place with private sandy beach (not stones like anywhere else), amazing room, state of the art. Lovely staff and incredible breakfast.
Review 44:We spent our honeymoon here and what a great choice! Staff were very helpful and breakfast best I've ever had in a hotel! Recommend the 4 course dinner in hotel restaraunt was lovely to try something different. Room 101 AMAZING! Private terrace jacuzzi we will definitely be back one day! Can't thank hotel enough for making our honeymoon as special as it was :)
Review 45:Roads are extremely busy in August so plan your trips out to avoid any delays, leave early or take advice of best times etc.
Review 46:Superb facilities - boutique style hotel with exceptional food, customer service and facilities. We were wowed by the hotel & rooms which were extremely clean.. Arrange airport transfers on booking, as cheaper than picking up a cab at the airport. In addition if out for an evening book your taxi return, as the they stop early especially in Omis, unless pre arranged.
Review 47:Everything from location to service They really go out of their way this place deserves to be 5 star as it's one of my favourites in croatia and I have stayed at many 5 star places but this one is fantastic
Review 48:No reading lamp at the bedsides
Review 49:Both the hotel, the staff, the restaurant, pool and poolbar was fantastic! The rooms are really looks like on the professional photos! Maybe the restaurant is not a cheap one, but amazing good!! The breakfast is really rich and perfect! They have a separeted area for the hotel guests on the beach with full service (meal and drink, sunbed...everything)
Review 50:Limited choice restaurant No taxis operating in area Long walk to Omis along a busy road
Review 51:Private beach area Luxurious room Intimate atmosphere Lovely pool
Review 52:- position - noise from the road and ugly apartments buildings around - poor service - half of the staff was really great, half of the staff was underperforming which should not happen in the hotel of this price level - I am sensitive about wines - nobody was able to recommend me the wine and when you pay for bottle over 100 eur, you expect waiter to know how to serve it... - limited menu and no daily specials - after four dinners you have have to start to eat the same again
Review 53:- design and comfort of rooms and of the whole hotel - it is really exceptional and on the level of 5 stars hotels - Whirlpool on the room - food - great veal! :-) - wine list - it is great place for stop over for two nights or for longer weekend, but I do not recommend for longer vacation
Review 54:having to leave
Review 55:i think one of the best small Hotel in Europe, the staff ...Mladen & Manager....with one words: Perfect ! Bravo !
Review 56:Spacious room with balcony, hydro-massage tub, room service, the hotel facilities, the staff. Everything was excellent!
Review 57:Perfect for relaxing, spent a lot of time on the private beach. Great staff
Review 58:Nothing
Review 59:Fantastic staff and hotel facilities Very comfortable room Excellent food
Review 60:The bar and restaurant a little too quiet in the evenings
Review 61:Beautiful, luxurious boutique hotel
Review 62:Traffic in and around Omis.
Review 63:Very Luxurious stay. Friendly staff. Spacoius Garage-parking free. Good food at very fair prices in hotel restaurant.
Review 64:We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - the staff were all brilliant, the service was great, the food was amazing and our room was fab!
Review 65:All excellent. Room was nice and comfortable, service excellent and food nice.
Review 66:Jacuzzi rooms required room windows to be left open which created a mosquito party...
Review 67:Great customer service. No request left unsatisfied.
Review 68:Evrithing. Rooms, restaurant, pool, services, staff, beach
Review 69:Staff pleasant and professional. Meal at restaurant very good. Breakfast also excellent
Review 70:The bed was very very hard, sometimes hot water ran out.
Review 71:Pretty much everything
Review 72:Everything
Review 73:Everything was super, very friendly and hardworking stuff, excellent restaurant but there could have been a bigger choice for lunch.
Review 74:Worth every money. 100% perfection.
Review 75:The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make my boyfriend and I feel welcome. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. We only stayed one night on our travels but wished we could have stayed longer. Cannot fault this hotel. The service was impeccable. Thank you for a lovely evening. Breakfast was lovely also.... It was my boyfriends birthday and the waiters all arrived with a cake and candle which was a lovely surprise (for us both!!!) bath room was amazing ...
Review 76:Having to leave!
Review 77:Great setting and location (assuming you are after a beach/pool weekend away from Split), fantastic staff and suites. Amazing food and drink and the limited number of rooms meant at full capacity it was quiet and tranquil and at times felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Dinner in the restaurant of the Chef's Recommendation was a lovely tasting menu with wines at a riduculously good price. Would recommend in a heart beat!
Review 78:I think rooms booked through Booking.com are smaller than full-priced rooms
Review 79:pool, breakfast, English-speaking staff were very friendly and helpful, large rooms, free parking, walking distance to beach, free wi-fi
Review 80:There is nothing that we wouldn't love in Kroatia.
Review 81:Staff was excellent and the Hotel is five star hotel. Breakfast is greatest and we would like to thank the chef for making our trip complete :) no complainings.
Review 82:When we stayed at Damianii we booked the deluxe suite and 100% made theright decision, the room was breathtaking! It was extremely spacious, very clean and comfortable. Our favourite part was definitely the largebathroom, hot tub, and sundecks. When you stepped out onto the sundeckthe view was amazing, we overlooked the sea and could even see thenearby islands. The food was also great. We had breakfast every morning there and were never disappointed, especially when we tried the chiefs recommendation one night for dinner. Everything suggested was extremely flavorful and left us content! We were so happy we picked Damianii because it truly fit all of our needs. It was a great spot if we wanted to just relax by the pool or walk along the sandy beach below the hotel. Also, all the staff spoke excellent English so if we had any questions they not only answered all of them but were more than happy to help. If you happen to stay here, make sure you go towards Omis, you will be amazed by the mountain view and the town is quite charming!
Review 83:Damianii is a true gem. This is our second time staying and just like before we loved every second of it. Staff, facilities, location everything is just perfect. If you're looking for a place to rest this is it!
Review 84:You need a car to get around as a warning.
Review 85:The friendly atttitude of the hotel personnel stands out of an experience that was extremely nice in general. Beware of the breakfasts, you don't need to plan for a lunch any time soon after.
Review 86:We stayed for three days in the beginning of October 2013. The weather was really bad so we didnt use the outside pool or the close beach/water. We did though enjoy the room with jacuzzi, sofa-group and wide-screen TV. Evenings we decided to stay at the hotel and enjoy the great courses (can really recommend the filet mignon w. truffles and the macaroni), and every morning we had one of the best breakfasts ive ever had; Eggs Benedict with local smoked ham and salmon. Though u can really select whatever you feel like since the chef is really flexible and of course great at his job.
Review 87:The main dissapointment was the outdoor area, from the photos it looked like the pool area was quite secluded, but in reality it is at the front of the hotel near a main road, so not as relaxing and tranquil as it looked on the website. For dinner the restaurant is really nice, but quite expensive. We were also given a small starter which we didn't ask for therefore assumed it was complimentary, but this was added onto the bill. This isn't necessarily a negative thing but worth pointing out - that during october all of the holiday cafes, bars and restaurants were closed for the winter, so the hotel is quite secluded. We had to walk to Omis (about 20mins away) to visit a supermarket and to go to a restaurant. This was fine, but walking back along the main road at night wasn't ideal.
Review 88:The hotel is a lovely modern boutique hotel. We stayed in a junior suite and the room was enormous, really big bed and amazing bathroom with jacuzzi bath and a cool shower! The staff were really helpful and welcoming and the breakfast is brilliant. You get given coffee, orange juice and croissants as a starter and can then choose what you want to eat from an extensive menu. I would recommend this hotel to couples, but for us with everything nearby being closed in October, 3 nights was just enough.
Review 89:The road in front of the hotel was noisy.
Review 90:We had a deluxe suite, it was very spacious with a large terrace and a ridiculously huge jacuzzi in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 91:There is occasionally a problem with the drainage and so the rooms andparts of the hotel smetl of effluent for 2 out of the 3 days we werethere. It might be worth checkimg to see if this problem has beenresolved before booking.
Review 92:Staff were fantastic, rooms were clean and spacious. Food is excelent ifa little pricey.
Review 93:the hotel staff was very kind, free parking garage, swimming pool, hotel suite with jacuzzi, the design of the rooms is very comfortable, we would love to come again, my family really loved it here
Review 94:There is 10 meters between the beach and the hotel's swimming pool, but you need to cross the road to reach the sea. The beach is not private and of course it could be better.
Review 95:Very friendly staff, luxurious atmosphere without any fervour, delicious food at the Goldcode restaurant, there are just 12 rooms that's why there is no noise at all. The sea is very clean and comfortable.
Review 96:Can't think of anything...
Review 97:The Damianni was excellent! We enjoyed the ambiance and feel of theDamianni.....an intimate boutique hotel and a luxurious oasis. The staffwas very welcoming and accommodating beginning with Tea at the receptionto Ivan and other waiters in the restaurant to housekeeping, as well. The restaurant is outstanding! They have a great chef and the food iscreative and delicious. Beautiful presentations! Damianni has gorgeousviews of the Adriatic Sea. Can't wait to go back!
Review 98:Menu choice very limited. Would like to have a more casual menu
Review 99:Fabulous rooms, large size, great jacuzzi baths. Lovely bar area and pool Very stylish
Review 100:We found the restaurant a little pretentious and over priced, breakfast while enjoyable took far too long (sometimes took 60mins to be fully served your breakfast), pool was noisy and too close to main road to be able to relax fully, reception staff while friendly were hard to communicate to as we did not speak Croatian and their English was quite poor, also reception were unable to furnish us with a map or did not give us any information of possible tourist attractions in the area.
Review 101:Beautifully designed and furnished hotel. The room was extremely comfortable and very luxurious. Free parking was very useful (car is essential when staying at this hotel), we were quite impressed by the guy that checked us in during the middle of the night as he was courteous and welcoming. Free Wifi was awesome.
Review 102:When it comes to the cleaning it is NOT up to the standard of a luxurious hotel like this one. They did not clean or wipe of the jacuzzi in the bathroom when it was used. The desk and shelves was not wiped of every day, or a complete vacuuming of the room. Heavy traffic on the road that's just outside the hotel
Review 103:The service was wonderful, topclass. The staff is what makes this hotel!! Very luxurious hotel, the sand beach is just a cross the street, great pool and outdoor jacuzzi. A 15-20 min walk will take you to Omic, that offers a great deal of excursions.
Review 104:Breakfast services :too much time for breakfast, buffet services will be batter
Review 105:The class of this hotel is very hight. ..confort and services are at the top
Review 106:Location! There is nothing clean around, next to street. Restaurant is overrated.
Review 107:The hotel is almost perfect. Nice design, wonderfull breakfast, nice pool...
Review 108:This stunning boutique hotel, located a short distance from Split, wasthe perfect setting for a relaxing holiday in Croatia. The room wasperfect, grounds were beautifully kept across the road from the beachand staff were extremely helpful organizing day trips, restaurantsuggestions and even a breakfast pack for us due to an early check-out.The hotel restaurant is upscale and very good and the breakfast a lacart menu was an experience I have never come across in all our travelsbefore and certainly another added detail that this wonderful hoteloffers. The town of Omis is beautiful and much more authentic than Splitmaking Hotel Damianii the perfect choice.
Review 109:We liked everything.I never experienced such a friendly and welcoming staff. They made us feel very special and made us enjoy staying in hotel more.Room was fabulous - very modern, nice and clean.Poolside was small, but very nice.Restaurant worth to visit even if you are not staying in the hotel. We tried all the menu while we stayed there and every dish was amazing, specially desserts ;) Hotel is out of Split, which was perfect for us, because we didn't care to stay in the city. But you will need to have a car. Thank you very much Damianii !!!
Review 110:the only thing I would say is it is better to visit this hotel if you stay a few days and have a car because of the distance from split. The bus was easily accessible and cheap from Split.
Review 111:The hotel staff were so friendly I felt like I was so at home - they really looked after us. They tried to accomodate us in anyway they could including getting us ferry, bus times and arranging a taxi. The food for dinner and breakfast was tasty and so well presented and was tailored to your tastes. The rooms were cosy and brand new.
Review 112:Nothing.
Review 113:Everything. Especially kindness
Review 114:Quality and design of rooms, Design edge to hotel Friendly and attentive staff Excellent food in restaurant but a little pricey Free parking
Review 115:Wi-Fi was intermittent
Review 116:The bed was hard! The location
Review 117:Nice and good service!
Review 118:Fantastic hotel! Perfect breakfast, friendly staff!
