Reviews for The Old Imperial Hotel Youghal
Review 1:The only thing I didn't like was the hairdryer wasn't powerful at all and the towels were on the small side.
Review 2:I loved this venue. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were great. The staff were knowledgeable when I enquiried items for my gluten intolerance. The food was excellent.
Review 3:The staff at the Old Imperial is lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay! The restaurant and bar are top notch, and we ate there frequently. We would definitely stay again - Thanks!
Review 4:In my opinion breakfast should be included in the price.
Review 5:Comfortable room with a good bathroom. Friendly staff who accommodated my late arrival. Good parking right in the middle of town.
Review 6:Youghal didnt have a lot going for it; nowhere worth going out to in the evening and the hotel bar was pretty dark and dismal. Food was nothing special.
Review 7:Friendly welcome.
Review 8:We had a one night stay in Youghal recently at this hotel. We had a comfortable bed, the room was spacious and very clean. We ate a lovely dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
Review 9:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 10:The staff were both helpful and entertaining; especially the barman with his excellent impersonations of colleagues and customers. It was an unexpected bonus.
Review 11:Only quibble would be the sound of the street coming through the single glazed windows. Quite noisy at times.
Review 12:The staff and facilities were very good. Excellent Wifi coverage and pleased with layout of room.
Review 13:I didn't like the stairs I was lucky enough to be on the first floor if you can call it lucky my friend was on the second floor holiday in Galway
Review 14:The location was great plenty of hotels bars and restaurants
Review 15:No music in the pub at night, breakfast portions were ok not huge. Eggs were big on the breakfast menu...omlette, poached, scrambled.. A veggie fry-up would have been a nice option or beans & grilled tomatoes with mushrooms.
Review 16:The location, the bed & pillows, facilities in the room including the free still & sparkling water daily. Housekeeping was great, and the shower was super.
Review 17:Nothing,,,, great service at a great price and very friendly stafff
Review 18:Great welcome,,,, good food,,, in fact if staying its best to book for dinner in the restaurant as its gets busy specially at weekends,,,, secure off street parking,,,great value for the level of attention to detail
Review 19:Comfortable Bed, nice bar food, friendly staff. Good wifi. Very Good value for money! Liked that it was quiet and got a good nights sleep. Phil was very friendly on reception! Liked that there was a secure free car park for residents.
Review 20:Shower in bath (just a pet hate!)
Review 21:Good location, rooms are comfortable but nothing fancy & could do with updating/painting (just my opinion though!) staff were top class and the breakfast was fantastic - overall a positive experience
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:From the moment I arrived the welcome from the staff was excellent. The food for all meals is delicious and of a very high quality. I would definitely recommend the hotel and hope to be back at some stage in the future.Nothing
Review 24:Would have liked a slightly larger room particularly if we had been staying for more than 2 nights.
Review 25:Located centrally in town, this hotel is comfortable and cosy. Room temperature was perfect and all facilities wiorked and were clean and fresh.Restaurant is excellent with good choise of menu. Food is well presented and cooked to perfection on hot plates. Staff were welcoming and most helpful.
Review 26:Nothing everything was as it should be and to find a fauly would be nit picking
Review 27:Just about everything and that is rare for me to find in any hotel in Ireland
Review 28:The bed was too firm, much firmer than a usual hotel bed, which we both found very uncomfortable. The walls are very thin and we could clearly hear conversations on the adjacent room.
Review 29:The staff were lovely, very professional and friendly. The decor was nice. Room was fine.
Review 30:There are no lifts, understandable in such an old building, but it can be difficult for people with mobility problems. Also the towels were made for small, skinny people, a let down when everything else is taken into consideration.
Review 31:I love this hotel, the staff are fantastic, the owners are on site and very friendly, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the food is beyond gorgeous. The location is ideal, right in the middle of the town, everything is within walking distance.
Review 32:Poor lighting in room, bigger worksuface for tea/coffee making would be useful.
Review 33:Breakfast excellent, friendly staff, lovely historic old coaching inn with off road parking, good location for town centre.
Review 34:Lovely location, plenty of bars restaurants. Beach ,scenery even during a thunder storm in October.could not have enjoyed it more.food in the imperial is fresh and excellant
Review 35:Size of the bedroom/bathroom - but friendliness of the team more than compensated
Review 36:Very friendly team - made us feel welcome and at home. The food was fantastic - only sorry we never got to try the desserts as the main-courses were so generous. Professionalism & genuine hospitality of the staff first class!
Review 37:The fact that smokers used the outside veranda and were there quite late over the weekend. Our bedroom was just above, but we solved the problem by closing all windows

Review 40:Loved everything about this place
Review 41:We adored this gem of a hotel. The charming ladies at reception could not have been more welcoming and helpful, the rooms were exemplary, with spacious beds and quirky interesting ornaments reflecting the owners taste, flowers and water, and picture windows overlooking the charming courtyard. Spotless spacious bathroom. The food was superb, served with the unity and continuity of a great play! Breakfast was cooked to order, and was of 'write home to mother' standard. A true gem of a hotel, utterly wonderful staff, spotlessly clean, a joy to recommend it.
Review 42:These are suggestions rather than dislikes, but there could be more electrical sockets in the bedrooms, for charging phones, using laptops, etc. Also, real coffee could be provided, for those of us addicted to coffee...
Review 43:everything about our stay in the hotel was of the highest quality: the rooms, the food, the facilities, and the location. The staff were friendly and facilitative, with smiles and good humour all round. In particular, the food was outstanding, both the dinner, with a set menu and a la carte on offer, and the breakfast which was innovative alongside the traditional. Overall, our stay was both memorable and very good value for money.
