Reviews for Riverside Hotel
Review 1:The hotel was very clean, comfortable , quiet, good location, excellent food choice both at breakfast and evening meal time. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Will return.
Review 2:Staff very friendly and helpful. Food fantastic and great value for money. No faults found and will be returning again. Needed a late check out and this was arranged with no fuss.
Review 3:None
Review 4:Great reception, even on late arrival. Friendly, warm & helpful staff. Very comfortable room, good size, and well presented. Breakfast was good, and staff eager to help. This hotel is on my list of ones to use when in this area. Excellent.
Review 5:Had dinner on the Saturday which was satisfactory but a different story on the Sunday. Menu had a great choice but no chicken or beef only turkey & ham which was fine with us. Well it was as dry as ole slippers & very disappointing.
Review 6:Breakfast was delicious & great choice salmon & scrambled eggs my fav ...hubby loved the Big fry up. Plenty of cereals, toast, jams, juice etc.
Review 7:The apartment was a little cold. It had storage heaters which worked really well in one of the bedrooms but the other bedroom and living room wasn't as good. The storage heaters in the bathrooms didn't work at all. We stayed between Christmas and New Year and there was a bad storm during our stay so we ended up staying in the apartment more than we would have liked. A pool would have been a real advantage. Not a lot to do when the weather was bad with a 2 year old.
Review 8:We stayed in a 2 Bed apartment which was spotless and spacious, with TVs in both bedrooms as well as the Living room. The food in the hotel was excellent and good value for money. The bar was lovely and had a very relaxed warm atmosphere. The view of the river from the apartment was fab. Walking distance to the shops.
Review 9:Hotel was perfect. New, clean, beautiful rooms....as if we were the first ones to stay. Restaurant was way better then expected, food was so good infact amazing. Would love to stay again. So proud I have a great place to recommend when family and friends come to town.
Review 10:Myself and 2 of my friends stayed here over the Christmas and we could not fault one thing about it! The staff at reception both when we arrived and checked out were so friendly and a good laugh! The room was amazing! We had one of the suites and such comfort with it! We slept so well, and with 2 ensuite rooms there was no fighting for a shower in the morning! We will definitely be staying here again! Free wifi with great signal! And a fabulous breakfast!
Review 11:Very nice decor and great location. We had a river view room with balcony which would be amazing in the summer. Town is a stroll away and being next to the footpath bridge you can do a great circular walk.
Review 12:Brilliant Hotel, Location Ideal to Nightlife, All local hotspots just a 5 min Walk away. Morning Breakfast fantastic. Cannot Fault Hotel. Great Value for Money, Will be Back.
Review 13:Very skeleton staff, had to wait 15 minutes to check in as reception was left unattended. Was waiting 10 minutes to be served a drink in the bar again as it was left unattended, plus waiting staff were not trained in bar duties. Staff were not well informed of activities in the town.
Review 14:It is very well located, rooms are spacious and comfortable, excellent value for money
Review 15:It is simply a lovely hotel and as a solo traveller I always feel so wrlcome there. And they remembered me (as soon as I stood at the reception desk)from my last visit 8 weeks ago
Review 16:Location was a bit of down point but in saying that it was quiet.
Review 17:The hotel is such a beautiful hotel. Nice and small and doesn't try to be what its not. Room was nice and comfortable and the food was nice
Review 18:Modern hotel with clean, well furnished and comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast and great central, riverside location. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 19:The entrance, outside near front door, could be more inviting.
Review 20:My request for a particular room was granted. I got a room with a balcony overlooking the Garavogue lengthways. Fabulous!
Review 21:Rusty not working heater in the bathroom and the room heater was facing the wardrobe.
Review 22:The people working in the bar/restaurant were nice and friendly
Review 23:This is not a bad experience but a suggestion. There could be a better selection on the bar food menu. For instance, a selection of starters, to include mushrooms, onion rings, skinny chips, wraps, ciabatta. Also a mat in the shower and bath I feel should be essential.
Review 24:My Sister and I loved the view as we had a nice door /window great for air and viewing the river. Our room was over waste bins but thankfully no noise. We loved the bedroom, bathroom, dining area, all so clean and bright and staff were very helpful, plus we got a free late check out.
Review 25:Staff were so helpful and accommodating of our needs as a family with 2 small children. They went above and beyond what they had to. Really welcoming and helpful
Review 26:Everything. .
Review 27:Staff very nice .. hotel lovely and clean and comfortable. . Will stay again on my next visit to sligo.. and will tell my friends and family. .
Review 28:Bedrooms very warm in hotel. No alchopops or cocktails available in bar ?
Review 29:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was lovely and only 5 mins walk from everything you wud need.
Review 30:Very badly sign posted
Review 31:Staff very good and friendly. Just a bit disappointed they told us that they have a late bar and we went back to the hotel on Sunday night and it was closed. The poter told us he would give us a drink to take to the room I would not even do that at home very disappointing.
Review 32:One major thing the hotel is lacking in is carpark space, only room for about 8 cars outside. Luckily the weather was beautiful and we didn't mind the short walk to the free carpark about 5 mins up the road. This is just a small thing but storage space/shelving is lacking in the bathroom, nowhere to leave toiletries.
Review 33:We arrived early and our room was ready (good start!). Location of hotel is super, fabulous views of the river and just a short walk to town. Very comfortable beds as well as a comfortable temperature in the room. Plenty of wardrobe space also. Breakfast was freshly cooked and nice and hot. l Check in and out was efficient and all staff very friendly.
Review 34:A beautiful, peaceful location, close to Sligo Hospital. Lovely room overlooking the river and excellent meal in the restaurant, again overlooking the water. A good hearty breakfast with plenty of choice. Very attentive and professional staff that are naturally warm and friendly. Great selection of vegetarian food on the menu that was both tasty and creative.
Review 35:The only thing was the parking. My son had knee injury and he didn't want to be any different to the rest of the family so he insisted on walking too.
Review 36:The lovely views. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The walking distance to town. The view of the river. The breakfasts were lovely. Lots to choose from.
Review 37:Welcoming and helpful reception. Hotel very clean and nicely decorated. Room excellent in all aspects. Breakfast arrangements very good, part buffet and offering cooked breakfast to order. Enjoyed too a very good dinner, nice bar and live jazz.
Review 38:The biggest problem with the Hotel is that there is limited parking, which can be an issue when carrying luggage etc. Also television was not working in our room.
Review 39:Staff were friendly, food was good also. central location with a nice view of the river.
Review 40:We were in town for the Sligo Live Music Festival so The Riverside's central location was ideal. Also the Festival Club was based there providing us with the opportunity to see further bands! Well appointed room with comfortable bed, exhilerating shower and view of river.
Review 41:The rooms were beautiful & very comfortable :) The staff were very friendly & helped with all of my questions! Breakfast was great, the Fish & Chips from the mill bar was delicious too! Definate 10 out of 10 from me!
Review 42:My husband and I spent last sunday night at the riverside hotel, where we had a lovely time. The staff were so courteous and friendly, the food was delicious and we had a beautiful view of the river from our window. We also had a suite which was a lovely surprise. We will definitely stay at the riverside again. Oh the jazz band in the afternoon was very enjoyable.
Review 43:Very central location, all staff very friendly and helpful. There during music festival Sligo Live and was plenty of entertainment! Really in centre of things. Had lunch and breakfast there and both delicious!
Review 44:The one way streets in sligo --take some adjusting to,but the hotelstaff tried to help with good directions
Review 45:Very good breakfast selection, wonderful , helpful staff at receptiondesk, and in dining areas, amazingly funny coloured pen and ink drawingsby Annie ....... Now a local in Sligo , sending up yeats' unrequitedlove affair with Maud Gonne.Overall, this hotel is a real treat for anyguest...across the board.: Wonderful!!
Review 46:The bath probably needs replacing as it seems a bit old. This is really the only thing I found fault with as the hotel is excellent overall.
Review 47:In the heart of Sligo Town. Perfect for excursions around the North West or en route on the Wild Atlantic Way. Hotel is very well furnished and very comfortable. Pleasant staff.
Review 48:We were able to get parked in the small car park but this might be more difficult at busier times.
Review 49:Short 5 minute walk into town. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable beds and room with river view. Good cooked to order breakfast.
Review 50:We all enjoyed the break with nothing to complain about
Review 51:Spotless, comfortable, friendly.lovely room overlooking river.best bed ever and breakfast in sunroom.super. will be back

Review 53:Fantastic location, great modern clean feel tot he hotel, bar and rooms. Staff were very helpful and the kitchen and living rom were great as we were in a group of 4 so we had somewhere to hang out and chat!

Review 57:Have nothing bad to say.
Review 58:The hotel was lovely, loved the girls on desk so friendly and helpful , they even showed interest in us. Had dinner in dining room, I love white pepper , so funny girl wasn't sure about it , but fair play she went and got it,and put room number on it for next day. My god the bed was so good didn't want to get out of it .
Review 59:limited evening menu choice
Review 60:The view was amazing with a lovely location and really friendly staff, nice bar area. Travelled with elderly disabled father, the disabled facilities in his room were great.
Review 61:The parking lot is too small. We had a room right by the fire door and during the night it was very loud with people going through it.
Review 62:Fast check in...location was about 5 minutes to everything...staff was very friendly. Get the breakfast included. It was worth the extra money.
Review 63:A bit of a scramble to get car parked in eves but that understandable considering the size of the car park!
Review 64:Staff very friendly and attentive. Location beside river is a bonus and a few minutes walk to town centre
Review 65:Renovation noise at 8:00 am.cottactors vehicles using up hotel parking spaces and people sitting smoking outside front entrance.
Review 66:Everything.being on the river walking the weir . Watching the fishing
Review 67:Parking but you can get over that
Review 68:The staff are so friendly and helpful, reception and bar staff great . Room was big and fresh loved our stay and will be back soon.
Review 69:Nothing really just need more ways to make toast as 1 toaster takes to long when there's alot of ppl eating
Review 70:The staff where very friendly and pleasant
Review 71:The location is perfect: near the town centre but quiet. The staff, receptionists in particular, are extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast is very good
Review 72:were undergoing some renovations when I was there so a bit of noise but reception ensured I had a bedroom as far away as possible from noise...a temporary inconvenience however and hotels have to renovate at some time....so not a negative.
Review 73:easy walking access to Sligo town centre...attractive location next to river..well fitted out hotel..good sized bedroom...helpful friendly staff...good food evening and breakfast so overall good value for money.
Review 74:Had to park car down the road about a mile.
Review 75:By the river nice for such a lovely day. Very bubbly young guy on reception. Service with a smile makes a nice change
Review 76:Very limited parking - may need to use public parking some way away.
Review 77:Quiet location but only short walk along riverside into town centre. Large room pleasantly but not luxuriously furnished. Quality/price ratio - good value.
Review 78:The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful apart from the girl who was on reception. Because of the unhelpful staff, we will not be returning to this hotel.
Review 79:Bar, food, bed, wifi, room all great!
Review 80:The huge bed. The big breakfast which was lovely and the the were very helpful. The location was excellent as it was within walking distance of everything.
Review 81:Hotel location close to city centre. Staff went out of their way to suggest services such as beauty therapists and medical centres.Town had a nice feel. Shopkeepers helpful and friendly. Sligo was close to tourist attractions.
Review 82:We stayed here last weekend for an overnight break and you really couldn't want for any more from a hotel. Nothing was too big an ask. We asked for dinner and breakfast to the room, and although it was busy in the bar area for dinner, three of the staff brought it up promptly. The bed we stayed in was huge! All round great hotel, from entering to leaving. We will be back!
Review 83:Liked everything!

Review 85:Fantastic newly renovated hotel within easy walk along the river to Sligo town center. Quiet, comfortable, clean and with a very friendly and efficient staff. Large bedroom and bathroom with a huge bed. Great river views as well.
Review 86:Lack of parking outside hotel. There was room for about 6 cars outside the hotel and after that it is street parking which is expensive and you have to be up to change your ticket at 8:30am! Having to wait over 30 mins for a taxi.
Review 87:Walking distance to main areas of town
Review 88:Car park or lack of it should I say. Cobweb/spiders on double doors facing river meant we could open them - killed 4 spiders inside the room!!!

Review 99:Not applicable.
