Reviews for Forty Four Main Street

Review 1:The only thing I didn't like was there is a gap under the doors in the rooms so you hear people coming in and out throughout the night.

Review 2:Love that there is a big bar in the hotel selling food it smelled delicious and prices were good but we didnt get any food because the place was full. The rooms are very clean and nice. Good location close to the pavilions centre and short taxi to the wrights venue if you want late drinks.

Review 3:Our room was directly above the kitchen and was extremely noisy all night. We could constantly hear what sounded like a hoover till the early hours. One of the slats was broken on our double bed and the bed was slanting to the left alot which made our sleep really uncomfortable.

Review 4:The staff where extremely friendly and would do anything for you. The location was excellent too.

Review 5:The room I was giving was a disabled room . It was small room , the beds were 2 single when I thought I was getting a double. The fire alarm went off at least 2 times before 8am next morning and nothing was done about it . I was not comfortable staying there at all! The mirror was so far away from sockets. Not worth the money at all

Review 6:Didn't enjoy it at all . The location was bad

Review 7:No breakfast available until 9am. We had an early start for the airport and had to go find breakfast somewhere else !

Review 8:Location excellent, friendliness and helpfulness of staff great

Review 9:Didn't like that I had to leave .

Review 10:The rooms not the biggest in the world but I wouldn't let that put anyone off .very clean breakfast wasn't included but I'd highly recommend one if you hav time.

Review 11:Only one thing I could comment on is we had to walk through the bar witch was packed with people to check in

Review 12:We loved the location the cleanness was off heigh standard, myself and my boyfriend were more than impressed with the value for money

Review 13:They state they have free wfi, but on the 2 occasions we have stayed the wfi seems to stop, or get turned off!!! We had to keep going to The Old Borough to use their wfi. The staff just said they had called an engineer, but it seems odd that it has happened a 2 separate occasions

Review 14:it's a lovely clean establishment, in the heart of swords, with many restaurants and bars.

Review 15:The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Our room was basic but comfortable, and even though it was on the front street the triple glazing ensured no noise came in from outside.

Review 16:The wifi wouldn't work, but I was too exhausted to stay up and use it.

Review 17:At first when you walk in it is a traditional Irish pub, but when you go upstairs to your room you walk into a beautiful and super modern room. The bathroom facilities are top notch. You are getting maximine value for your money. The location is alright, nothing special, but it was very close to the airport which was great since I messed up the departure time.

Review 18:Room 11 bad noise from the road I had an interview for a job and a very bad mattress. Arrived late and dinner stopped at 9.pm Also no breakfast until 9am. The staff are great but the hotel falls short of even basic standards. This is a pub with big TV screens. No stars at all cooking wise. Go here if you have no other option.

Review 19:Location

Review 20:Staff were extremely friendly was quick to welcome us to our room. Lovely warm atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area loved the log fire as it made us feel at home. The room was ideal size not too big not too small, equipped with everything we needed. Nice big bed, safe to say I had a good nights sleep! Will definitely return!

Review 21:Taxi ride to the airport is only 5 minutes but it adds 13 Euros (one way) to your costs if you do not have a vehicle.

Review 22:Modern & clean, reasonably priced & the restaurant/bar staff were very helpful. Small village setting but can walk to everything.

Review 23:No reception area, the bar staff had slips of paper behind the bar for check in. we had to walk with all our bags through the full length of the pub after a full days work while people were there dressed up. The "reception" area had no staff, it was a chair behind a desk, that had blankets and pillows on it. One of the glass collecters brought us through, they didnt have our key when we arrived and they thought someone else may have been in the room already, so staff had to check the room first. Arrived to the room, it was freezing! The room had no vanity area, at all. There was a chair and a mirror, i had to keep the blinds up (which overlooked the main street) in order to be able to place my products so i could get ready. There was a t.v., we noticed we had no remote, we went to phone "reception" or the bar, we had no phone to phone down. I tried to use their WIFI using the code provided to message them on their facebook page about the remote, but the WIFI code didnt work. We had to go back down to ask for a remote. The glass collecter girl came back about 40 mins later telling us she had no remote for the telly. The shower door was broken. I could have possibly made it worse getting in and out. The shower kept flooding, so i had to keep turning the shower off during my shower to stop it from flooding out onto the floor where all of the tiles were cracked, which could have caused water problems. all in all. a shambles.

Review 24:On arrival, having to wade through a crowded bar with cases to check in? Not nice. No visible/quiet reception at front to check in. It should be more clear on website that breakfast is "not included" in tariff.

Review 25:Room was very clean. Drop off key box good idea.

Review 26:No lights around the mirrors . Just needs a little thought. No plug in sink . Making it hard work to shave .

Review 27:Excellent food . Friendly staff . Shower screen needs to be wider to avoid water collecting on the wrong side of the shower screen. But still loved everything else . This only applies to room 1 in my opinion .

Review 28:Only things missing from the room was a hairdryer and the wifi connection was not the best.

Review 29:For a small hotel it was extremely well kept and modern. The rooms were warm and the bed linen was crisp. We slept very well here. Staying here with my boyfriend and he also loved the hotel.

Review 30:Nothing, the hotel is great!

Review 31:Great hotel, comfy rooms, great busy pub downstairs but can hear no noise in the rooms. The rooms are super clean and the bed sheets changed daily. The staff is friendly. Good Irish breakfast in the hotel.

Review 32:The plugs , mirrors & lighting was horrid. if one wanted to blow dry hair the mirror had no plug near by, in the bathroom the light is horrid for make up & 1 plug next to the bed could not be used,,

Review 33:The bedroom was ok, bed comfy, shower was great,

Review 34:The only thing I suggest it would be better if rooms are slightly bigger for families otherwise can't see any fault!

Review 35:Excellent, superb , friendly and very supportive staff, especially with Young families. I like every thing about this place location wise, nearby airport, maim shops, Restaurent etc Girls in the bar and apparently manager very helpful, cleanliness is top notch, I love the experience there. Especialy beautiful young smiley girls at reception and waitresses. Great stuff!

Review 36:Clean and comfortable hotel room. Great shower! Close to Dublin airport-15€ cab ride. Young woman who helped us at check in was very pleasant and most helpful. Good value for the money too.

Review 37:The "double" bed was 2 singles pushed together, with space in the centre & APPALLINGLY UNCOMFORTABLE,no support & very squeaky! The noise from the street was all night long through to morning.Between the bed & street noise we got NO sleep. (Asked was there a room we could use just to change in for a wedding after returning from hairdressers, approx an hour after we checked out,& were told we could use the toilets.v poor customer service)

Review 38:The location in Swords is ideal.Room was clean.Decor was nice.

Review 39:We were checked in early (in the morning) so were able to drop off suitcases and begin to explore this best kept secret of a town. Staff wer very friendly and accommodating.

Review 40:There was not a parking (consider using a paid parking). There was a big gap between the door and the floor. Don't expect to see a reception or "hotel staff", just go into the pub and ask the staff for your room's key.

Review 41:The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, good windows isolation. It was quiet, despite the fact that there was big and noisy pub/restaurant on the ground floor (we had a room on the top floor, however I cannot say how would be the level of the noise on the other floor).

Review 42:The shower in the bathroom can be quite dangerous. The drain is in a corner and the bathroom floor was soaked making the floor EXTREMELY SLIPPERY.Beware as it is really quite difficult even for those not incapacitated. There is no dedicated parking so you must use a pay parking lot or park on the street at no charge from 6PM-8AM. If you wish to prolong your time after 8AM you can buy a ticket after 6PM which takes effect the next morning. The ticket machines are along the street.

Review 43:The location in the middle of a small village was wonderful. We were in Room#1 which was a handicapped one and it was fine. I would certainly stay again. I do not understand the bad reviews from a minority of guests.

Review 44:Maybe more pillows n 2 more towels More tv channels. Is a must. Sfter all people go for relaxation n some good tv helps. Wi fi bad coverage. But the cleanness n location made up for it all. Thank you all staff

Review 45:the location n cleanliness

Review 46:Room was one of the smallest we ve ever stayed in but had all facilities apart from a bath which I prefer to a shower.convenient for our visit.parking happened to work out ok on main street but could have been further down the road.

Review 47:staff were very friendly.hotel was pleasant-a little noisy at closing time beneath our window.bed was comfortable breakfast very good.great value for money hotel.

Review 48:Really confusing if you arrive later since the Hotel and Pub are the same and there is no sign as to where the registration is (at the back of the alley along the pub...) I finally had to ask the bartender. There is nobody permanently at registration. Check in with the Pub. Fine with me but would be nice to know....room located above the pub and smoking area/ally outside my window on second floor... noisy. other side of the hall would probably be fine.

Review 49:Room clean and location close to airport, Swords is a nice spot

Review 50:The only thing was there was not remote for the tv so had to keep getting up to change the channel. But other than that everything was great.

Review 51:Great location! Very good value for money and food was gorgeous! Will defo be back!

Review 52:Room was small. Also an issue to loud , guests who were celebrating a birthday into the early morning hours (2am ).

Review 53:good location for early morning departure from Dublin airport.

Review 54:No hair dryer or iron in the room. I am guessing these could have been requested from staff but if you are arriving late in the evening/night it might be an idea to ask for these items upfront. My work colleague had thankfully brought her own hair dryer which I could borrow.

Review 55:Lovely, fresh, clean, contemporary twin room with balcony. Very comfortable space.

Review 56:Mattresses in the twin bed room need to be replaced, were very uncomfortable. Wifi and TV reception problems at times.

Review 57:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Attractive furnishings. Loved the black and white photography and the showers were great. Restaurant/Bar/Pub was very, very nice. Enjoyed the sports events and Irish music. Convenient location.

Review 58:The bathroom drains stank. Which meant that if you didn't close the bathroom door then the whole room then stank. Complained but nobody bothered

Review 59:Staff very pleasant & ok food. Good choice of drinks

Review 60:mattress was very soft, not so comfortable. Other than that it was very good for an overnight stay, on bus route to airport - approx 7-10 mins.

Review 61:staff were very attentive, professional and friendly Food was excellent. Would recommend cooked breakfast.

Review 62:hard to get a bus back directly to Swords from Dublin on a weekend.

Review 63:very helpful friendly staff, surprisingly quiet despite being directly above the pub. good Irish breakfast. great atmosphere in the pub at night. easy to get to from airport.

Review 64:Noisy boiler outside and extremely noisy changing of barrels below our room. There is a non existent reception. An hotel has a functional reception.

Review 65:Friendly staff.

Review 66:Our airconditioning wasn't working and it was quite stuffy and warm in the room. Unable to open windows to let fresh air in. Staff gave us an aircooler but it didn't help much and was pretty noisy. We didn't want to move rooms as we only had one night left.

Review 67:Location is great for getting around Manchester - close to lots of bars and Piccadilly Gardens. Hotel is comfortable, especially the bed! Breakfast was really good, full cooked breakfast as well as continental and great coffee.

Review 68:No mention of the poor parking , very poor meal in the bar , breakfast was not included and not value for money

Review 69:The girls on the staff who severed in the bar were quite pleasant and attentive . Don't

Review 70:Rooms on the street side can be noisy when pub patrons go home

Review 71:Clean, modern, spacious Close to airport Bus to city 45 min #41 or #43 Very friendly & helpful staff

Review 72:They could offer continental breakfast.

Review 73:Perfect location, if you have a stopover or an apointment next to the airport. Many pubs and shops around. Very clean and confortable furniture. Staff is friendly and helpful. It belongs to a pub, but is properly isolated.

Review 74:No parking space available or was there indication where to park. Had to go round and round until theres a space on the street. Then I was told that I can park across the street parking lot...

Review 75:Cleanliness of room and quiet.

Review 76:Couldn't stay there a week later as they were booked out!

Review 77:Amazing staff. Extremely helpful. Went out of their way to help us. Couldn't have been nicer.

Review 78:A tad pricey but consistent with the area and season.

Review 79:We were just overnighting and heading back to Dublin airport in the morning. Nice location in a very walkable village. Old wonderful building with smallish rooms and very nice linens, over a lively but not raucous pub.

Review 80:No phone in room & English mobile wouldn't work. Not staffed after adjoining pub closed so relied on mobile alarm setting which did work.

Review 81:10 mins from airport. A good location with amenities. Stayed 2 nights with plenty to do/see including a bus trip into Dublin. Very friendly, helpful people, would stay again. Good adjoining pub, nice friendly atmosphere. Food available. Used Cafe across the road for breakfast.

Review 82:Our room was above the patio/smoking area for the bar . . . a little loud.

Review 83:Great location . . . convenient to restaurants for dinner & early breakfast. An easy drive to the airport.

Review 84:Only thing to point out is if you need a cab to the airport to ask them to reserve the night before because there will be no one around early mornings.

Review 85:The downstairs pub is everything you'd want in a guest house. The back end has been totally renovated into a modern hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Probably the nicest bathroom on my entire trip. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 86:--No wake-up call --No phone in room --No outlet where my adapter worked --No breakfast, even just coffee and rolls -

Review 87:Clever use of space in this small room.

Review 88:Very minimal space in the rooms. Not very well cleaned (hairs etc) and TV remote didn't work.

Review 89:As well located as you could want in Swords. Nice bar, decent food.

Review 90:Hot night and with no air con I had to have my window open for air. My room was directly above the outdoor bar smoking area and therefore very noisy, making sleep difficult.

Review 91:Friendly Staff

Review 92:the beds are extremely uncomfortable. It felt like sleeping on a waterbed. Neither I or my friend managed to sleep more than a few hours. Quite noisy in the morning with people leaving early for the airport.

Review 93:Location close to the airport, cleanliness of the room and establishment, friendliness of staff

Review 94:DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THERE WAS NO PARKING COST US FIVE EUROS PER DAY TO PARK THE RECEPTION AREA is not well located had to go through the bar area to find it

Review 95:VERY GOOD LOCATION ROOMS FAIRLY MODERN BUT FAR TOO WARM STREET NOISE TOO LOUD WHEN OPENED WINDOW

Review 96:This is a terrific place to stay for a night coming or going from Dublin airport. It's a cozy little village with good food and pubs. It is a much better atmosphere than a typical airport location. The staff was great and the pub lively! Highly recommend .

Review 97:No food when I arrived at 21.00

Review 98:Friendly staff. Room good. Outside bar tables good on a summer evening. taxi arrangements to airport at 5.300 AM very good. I would use you again for business. Suits where I needed to be.

Review 99:No breakfast...

Review 100:Awesome staff!!! Very nice, cozy and clean hotel and rooms, with a very nice and cozy par under the hotel. The free WiFi was very easy to logon into, and was very fast.

Review 101:Very noisy patrons in the smoking area after 9:30 with our windows above that area. Like many staying there we had early planes to catch.

Review 102:Convenient, clean and friendly

Review 103:The room was quite stuffy and there was no air conditioning. We would have been happy opening the window, but the outside area for the bar was right below it was noisy and our room filled with cigarette smoke,

Review 104:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Review 105:Nothing at all !!

Review 106:The rooms are very clean and comfortable The staff are very accommodating, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel A cab ride to the airport is roughly 12 euros and about 15mins

Review 107:Only downside is not having private parking but there are public parking options close by so it worked out well.

Review 108:The room was excellent. Modern furnishings, very comfortable bed, shower was excellent, very clean. I couldn't have asked for better. We arrived late at night due to our flight the young man was very accommodating and pleasant.

Review 109:Easy and fast check-in, 5 mins to the airport with cabbie stand less than a block away, room was clean and comfy, bar just downstairs, perfect location.

Review 110:This was the last place we stayed in Ireland, as we were flying out of Dublin the next day. The rooms were modern and wonderful, the staff incredibly helpful in arranging taxi to the airport. This is close to the airport without that "airport hotel" feeling. The pub is fantastic, which was frequented by locals as well as travelers.

Review 111:i had specified the need for a taxi to the airport when the room was booked, as well as when we checked in, but no taxi was ever called for us (we called one ourselves). some guy was moving beer kegs around in the middle of the night in the corridor they use as the hotel entrance, pretty annoying when we had to get up early. also, in that same corridor, people are always smoking out there and it ends up getting into the non-smoking rooms if we have the window open to cool the room down.

Review 112:great location, close to plenty of restaurants/convenience stores and a park, near the airport. room was clean, bed was comfy. spacious bathroom, relaxing shower.

Review 113:I didn't think the shower was the best, with regards to heating up.

Review 114:I loved the size of the rooms, I stayed in a single room, I often panick a single room will not have lots of space but when I arrived I was super impressed with the size of the room.

Review 115:This is a very, very overpriced 'hotel'. They are taking advantage of the fact it's close to the airport. 160€ for a basic room with no breakfast in a place like Swords is way too much.

Review 116:I thought the location was great as was the bar downstairs, closeness to the town and amenities etc.

Review 117:Really noisy as it is over a bar. The walls are very thin. The elevator got stuck between floors with my wife and me in it.

Review 118:It was great for a one night stay. Our room had a great shower.

Review 119:There was no shampoo and conditioner in shower I didn't bring any thinking that would've been supplied

Review 120:There was no hassle you can come and go as you please the fob was a great idea. Have a choice to go down and drink at the bar which you CANNOT here at all from your room it's liturally so close to many bars clubs shopping centres so much to do and the rooms are nice , comfortable, affordable and clean what more could you want ☺

Review 121:These guys were great! I would definitely come back! We missed a flight and they were gracious enough to let us check-in later than we had anticipated. Thouroughly impressed! Try the Empire a few doors down for a lovely fun awesome drink! I would definitely come back!

Review 122:The beds are soft like marshmallows. NO breakfast if you leave too early (not even a little breakfast-box with a sandwich and an apple or so...). Could be improved.

Review 123:We could move into our room in 3 minutes, nice house, easy to find, nice houses and pubs in the area, parking spaces in front of the door, you can leave at any time through a backdoor (if your plane leaves early), there's a bar downstairs, clean rooms (if you want to sleep quiet ask for a quiet room) and of course the friendly staff.

Review 124:Having to walk through restaurant with luggage.noise from the bin man removing bottles from restaurant....only once though, about 8pm

Review 125:Nice restaurant attached to the hotel.helpful bloke, with all the info I needed for airport, pubs etc....

Review 126:Location, staff and quality of everything was just great! The staff couldn't do enough for you, The room was lovely, we had a balcony overlooking a distant river and the kitchen lol but a bonus none the less. Food was beautiful, drink selection was great. And shops, pubs galore on door step, and an old castle down the road made a nice walk. Will absolutely stay again :)

Review 127:No negatives, well satisfied.

Review 128:Room was small but adequate for our short stay. Really happy with the staff, very cheery and helpful. Had very good meals both breakfast and evening and the Guiness was excellent.

Review 129:Bed was not very comfortable (way to bouncy for my liking)... Shower was not very hot... Bathroom extractor fan was very noisy... No desk to work on for laptop users... Lots of noise outside in the street if your room is at the front... No phone to contact reception...

Review 130:WiFi was outstanding... Friendly staff in bar... Room was basic but clean and tidy... FOB devices work well... Good location for the town... Nice bar downstairs...

Review 131:bathroom floor lack of drainage for an open shower was rediculous , i am now sporting a dislocated knee cap and some serious bruising from a slip and fall in the bathroom after my partner took a shower , whoever tiled the floor without considering a slope for drainage should be shot !

Review 132:room decor was nice

Review 133:We arrived after a long flight and were greeted by polite and helpful staff. We enjoyed a drink in the bar served by a helpful and pleasant young man. It was so convenient we are staying there for our final nights in beautiful Ireland.

Review 134:No private parking available but there was a parking facility only a minute away.

Review 135:Cleanliness & comfort was excellent. Location was spot on and central to everything. The staff were first class

Review 136:I could not get in to the hotel, staff did not know what was going on. No car parking i got clamped its cost me €100.00. staff need to talk to each other. The hotel need to arrange car parking for its customers. I am not a happy customer.

Review 137:The room and the bar was good.

Review 138:TV connection was not too good. Reception was in the main PUB. As someone who does not drink I would prefer a separate place Could improve the liquid soap in the toilet with a better scented soap

Review 139:Beautiful Room. Tea, Coffee and Kettle in the room provided. Nice and clean bathroom. Bed was ready, neat and tidy. Clean Bathroom and shower
