Review 4：The room was lovely. Clean and comfortable. The bath room was well stocked and a very good size. The staff was exceptional. Courteous,knowledgeable and professional. Breakfast was fabulous.

Review 5：A 9.7 rating should denote near-perfection and that is precisely what this hotel and its staff deliver. One would be hard-pressed to suggest how they might better approach perfection. It's location, structure, decor, food and staff stand out. We'll always remember sitting by the fireplace in the evenings with glasses of wine and the wonderful array of complimentary finger food (and vin santo) on offer. And the breakfast selection was the best we've even encountered.

Review 6：No complaints or suggestions for improvement. Rooms were a little small, as are all hotel rooms in older building, but beautifully appointed.

Review 7：Staff spoke English and was very helpful! When they learned that we were leaving earlier than breakfast was served, they packed an amazing breakfast-to-go in a thermal bag. The pastries were delicious and we had a feast for a few days. Unbelievable attention to detail; the hotel is very well located, and rooms were luxurious.

Review 15：A really great hotel that ticks all the boxes, staff,location, atmosphere. It was an easy walk into the old town form the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and this was illustrated by an issue we had with our sports cars that had limited ground clearance and actually grounded on the way in to the courtyard car park. Before departure the hotel had organised a carpenter to build a type of ramp (covered by a red carpet!!) for our exit so as not to have the same issue on leaving...... a service beyond expectation. Valentina , Yoana and all the staff did everything possible to make our stay a fantastic experience...... they exceeded all our expectations!! I thoroughly recommend this hotel

Review 16：Situated ideally at the entrance to old central Cortona. The staff parks your car and handles everything for you, including stopping traffic so you can back out onto the rather tight mountain road.

If you want to be pampered with a nice clean room and the staff always greating you with a smile and always helpful for any directions or name of restaurants. The breakfast is the best buffet breakfast that I have ever seen. If you want to visit Cortona this is the best accomodation that I would recommend to anybody. They have a elevator to bring your suitcase to your room, they will park your car for you, free of charge. I will not stay at any other place while visiting Cortona. The staff is wonderful!

Review 19：First class staff, well trained, friendly and exceeding expectations. The staff will park your car and retrieve it for you when you want it. Great food including breakfast, pre dinner snacks, and apres dinner vin santo and biscuits. The hotel has a restrained touch of luxury. In the context of Italian hill town hotels, it is excellent.

Review 20：The staff cant do enough for you. The location is great a short walk to square and a beautiful view of the valley. We feel so much at home there. This year we satyed with them for three nights at the begining of our trip and the laste 5 days were booked at a place just outside of siena We were so disapointed with the room we booked three last nights at Villa Marsili. Was well worth the extra money. This was our forth stay with them. We have been to Italy for a number of years an have stayed in many different places. Hotel Marsili will be on our list of places to stay every year from now on if we are in that lacation.

Review 22：We arrived in Cortona with the intention of just visiting, and booked this hotel at the last minute online. Although we did this late, we were made to feel very welcome and were instantly given an upgrade. Nothing was too much trouble to them - an excellent experience - friendly staff and fantastic service.

Review 23：From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt like we were home. Friendly, efficient and helpful admin staff. Content and happy waiters and cleaners. The breakfast is unbelievable, with an enormous selection of delicious food. You will not need to eat at lunch time. Worth paying a little extra for a 'room with a view'', you will not be disappointed. This hotel is superb and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The drinks at 7 in the evening are something we looked forward to. We met a lovely couple from the UK and it seemed quite a social group. On saying that if you prefer to have a quiet drink, the seating is suitable for private conversations. All in all, we loved Hotel Villa Marsili. This is a special place.

Review 24：The only minor criticism is that if you drive to the Hotel, you can park in one of only two spaces and for a fee. Or, you have to find a free park on one of the nearby streets. We had luck each time we had to find a park.

Review 25：The staff at Reception are amazing; so friendly and so helpful. They have a new chef who cooks incredible tasting food. We even took a two hour cooking class with her! The wait staff are extremely polite. Fantastic location; great aperitifs for Happy Hour. Comfortable, big room, bright and very clean facilities inc free drinks in mini-bar. It is all very genteel. Cortona is a cute and quiet town with some excellent restaurants. It is easily accessible to other places including Florence, Siena and Arezzo. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Villa Marsilli.

Breakfast - best buffet I've ever seen...ever. Room - clean, comfortable, free water in mini fridge, great shower. Cocktail hour - snacks & bevvies in the lobby - great way to meet other guests.

Review 36：I can't say enough good about this little gem of a hotel. The staff was truly exceptional,the attention to detail unprecedented ...loved everything about our stay and 3 days wasn't enough. Cortona itself is a lovely hill town and the area amazing. Our suite had views over the valley from all windows. Loved the idea of appetizers at 7p.m. each night was so pleasant. My husband and I have so many pleasant memories of our stay here.

Review 38：Julia at the front desk was fabulous! Her restaurant recommendation was our favorite meal while in Italy. Great attention to detail. The hotel is very chic boutique, easy to find and a very short walk to the center of town. Lovely rooms with gorgeous view! They even turned our beds down for us while we were out for the evening and valet parked our car for free!

Review 39：The setting is incomparable - a magnificent panorama of the Tuscan countryside. The young women staffing the front desk were exceptionally courteous and helpful - better than the most experienced concierges in other upscale European hotels. The breakfast was incredible. There's nothing not to like in this spectacular property. The BEST!

Review 41：The location was great - it was a 5 minute walk to town. It was uphill but not difficult. We loved Cortona. It is a small town but has many nice shops and restaurants and has one of the best views in Tuscany. We had a nice room with windows that opened to a view of the valley. Breakfast in the morning was very nice.

Review 43：Just left Cortona (Oct 2014) after a 5 day stay. This a darling hotel. Rooms are a little small, but the service makes up for it. From the minute we checked in until we left, the staff aimed to provide us with the best service... Just lovely.

Review 45：Everything was wonderful. It was just a quick trip for us, and the staff arranged a taxi to pick us up from the train station and take us back again. We left very early in the morning, and the kitchen provided coffee, breakfast, and a lunch to take with us. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 47：Access to the hotel on arrival can be a bit confusing. You ARE able turn into the courtyard through relatively narrow gates, with a car on arrival (it's on a bend in the road on the left as you drive up into Cortona from below) but it's a sharp left and one is almost certainly past the entrance before you realize it. Once there they will park your car and one can walk up the hill 5 minutes to the start of the commercial town centre, and you don't need to see your car again until you depart.

Review 48：Joanna at the desk had fresh enthusiasm and professionalism in manner and knowledge even at the end of a long day, and then again next morning. Marvin the porter/drink and breakfast server was attentive and joyful to all. Stefano the other member of staff whom we met on our regretfully short one night stay, was equally friendly and helpful. Their choice of a restaurant for us was reflective of their experience, and our particular needs at the time. In other words they did not recommend the rote solution but tried to tailor it to our needs re standards, budget and what it was we were after that particular night. Usually staff at hotel desks sre not this reflective or nuanced in what information and answers they provide. The staff seems exceptionally well trained. If not their innate abilities and wish to do provide a decent experience for guests shone through. I think it was a combination of both.

Review 53：Went to Cortona with my wife both for business and pleasure. This hotel has the most amazing staff of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy. The hotel has an old world look and decorated with period pieces but with all the modern stuff we want. Plenty of outlets to charge electronics, air conditioning, internet access. A minibar that is always open with fresh fruits, teas, cookies and a cordial. The breakfast is unbelievable. Now that I am back I really miss the breakfast. For what you get at this hotel it is a bargain. I don' think I can upload photos on this site others I have so many of the breakfast table. If you go to Cortona do yourself a favor and stay at Hotel Marsili

Review 54：We had problems with the air conditioning making our room too hot, it was difficult to sleep with the windows open due to traffic noise. The bathrooms could do with a little face lift.

Review 61：We loved the Villa Marsili! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Everyone spoke English very well and made good recommendations for shopping, eating and sight seeing. The location was great; close enough to walk to the main square and shopping but far enough not to be bothered by the city noises and traffic. The rooms were so lovely! They were rustic, clean and bright, air conditioned and big enough to be comfortable to relax in. The view from our room was amazing. We looked out over the courtyard and across the road, down the hill and could see the Tuscan countryside for kilometres! The free breakfast was delicious, with a huge variety of foods and attentive waitstaff. The parking was a bit tricky, but the staff handled it well, parking the car for us and collecting it when required. We loved everything about this hotel and would stay there again and recommend it highly.
