Reviews for Hotel-Pension Falkensteiner

Review 1:The parking lots are cramped, parking with a larger car may be tricky if there are close to full.

Review 2:Convenient location, staff was helpful, generally cosy and comfortable. The church bell could be heard a bit in the bathroom, but fortunately not in the bedroom (but being winter the window was closed).

Review 3:The apartment is big and spacious. Nice location, near supermarket only a short walk away. Located right in the middle of a small town, nice small shops around with a bakery and cafe just around the corner.

Review 4:We were woken several times over 2 days by a group of men returning to the hotel very drunk at night. Almost ruined our stay. Bare walls create a rather clinical atmosphere. Windows have to be kept shut at night due to traffic behind in early hours unless you face the front.

Review 5:Spotless accommodation, all brand newly fitted out, with everything you need. Very close to everything in village.

Review 6:Friendly welcome at the hotel, lovely room and excellent breakfast following a comfortable sleep. We plan to stay there again during our next trip to the area.

Review 7:Nothing! (Everithing was so perfect.)

Review 8:I got everything for my dieat (lactose free). They have elite bikes for free! They did their job on maximum level :)

Review 9:None.

Review 10:We stayed in room 111 which had a nice view. The room was clean and so was the bed and the toilet. We reached a bit early but we were given the key by the reception staff who readily checked us in. We went to wonder round for an hour until our room was ready. We would definitely recommend this hotel for any travellers who want to stay in St Gilgen and explore the town. There are plenty of cafes and restuarants to have a meal or a decent coffee and cakes.

Review 11:Luckily the heat wave had passed, as there was no Aircon. The parking lot was very small but we got there early.

Review 12:Great location and comfy beds. Very nice staff at the reception and a plentiful breakfast.

Review 13:The kitchen could be better equipped, for a self-catering is missing mugs, frying pans and pots. Can be a bit noisy due to the nearby main road.

Review 14:Nice welcoming landlady. Easy parking.

Review 15:What I really liked was how neat, spacious and comfortable the bedroom was. I also liked how the two ladies made our stay relaxed, easy and so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing too. They were super kind and we really didn't want to leave!

Review 16:Some music during breakfast would help better atmosphere since everybody was whispering and you could hear other people chew and swallow. Can get a little bit noisey from the street (but most of the time you hear a nice sound of creek nearby).

Review 17:Very friendly staff, good location for visiting around, as vegans we had choise over breakfast ( vegan spreads, veggies, fruits) which is usually a problem in Austria

Review 18:Heidi, the owner, was so friendly and helpful. The apartment was really spacious and very clean. The location quiet and a short stroll through the village to the lake and the playground. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

Review 19:Not very comfortable extra bed in our apartment In kitchen only basic cooking facilities Low wifi signal in bedroom

Review 20:Free parking place Nice personal Location, St. Gilgen is a really nice place Beatifull nature Very nice playgrounds for children in St. Gilgen

Review 21:There's no lift - you have to go upstairs with bags. But for me it's normal. Just for everybody to know.

Review 22:All is very good. Friendly staff, very comfortable room, beautiful lake nearby. Really it's like 3 stars or maybe 4 stars. A shop and bus stop are just two or three hundred meters away. Very good breakfast. Reasonable price. Free bikes.

Review 23:Everything really! We liked the room which despite being a budget room had a nice balcony and handy doors and windows to give option of converting to a door or tilted window. The staff were all very polite and friendly. Heidi couldn't do enough to help. Leaflets and weather forecast were provided at breakfast with ideas of what to do according to the weather. We took up Heidi's suggestion to go to the thermal baths on a rainy day and had a lovely afternoon relaxing and swimming in warm water. The breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of choice.

Review 24:Only the breaks and gears of the bike I got, but even this was not a problem on the flat routes round Wolfgangsee

Review 25:Friendly staff, it was no problem that we arrived after midnight, decent breakfast, free bikes to cycle around the lake

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:Very friendly owner. Comfortable rooms with fantastic views from the balcony.Great choice for breakfast. Quiet location but still close to village centre.

The room is clean, equipped with flat TV, sofa, Wifi, there's even a balcony! The staff is so sweet, they prepared a super-early breakfast at 6:40am in the morning, since I need to catch the flight...

Review 55:It was raining the whole days during my stay in St Gilgen and the room was very cold. There was not any coffee/tea facilities in the room.

Review 56:- Hospitality of owners - Very clean and neat, comfy, quiet - Excellent breakfast - Location is not on lakeside, but still very convinient to get from busstop and lake promenad - Close to supermarket - Comfortable beds

Review 57:Bit hot in rooms. (We were there in mid summer )

Review 58:Very friendly hosts. Landings and rooms furnished with love. Full of cute little Austrian knick knacks. Sounds smaltzy but works fine. St Gilgen is a lovely town on a beautiful, swim-able lake. Well worth a visit.

Review 59:We had an absolutely fantastic stay in St Gilgan, could not recommend it enough! We stayed in the self-catering apartment, which was extremely comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. We particularly liked the little sun terrace overlooking the gardens, where we had breakfast every day. All the amenieties we could want - the shops, the bus stop, restaurants were all within easy walking distance and we very much enjoyed the use of the bikes to explore the surrounding cycle tracks. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful if they had tried. Not only did they help familiarise us with the local area but when one of our party injured themselves they bent over backwards to help. We were very sad to leave and if we come back to St Gilgan, we will defiantly be staying here.

Review 60:Booking.com did not mention in a obvious place that the apartment willcharge a 35 euros of cleaning fee.
