Reviews for Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura
Review 1:Limited number of security safes in the reception SPA wasn't free, 3000 ISK for hotel guests Very close to the airport, always plane engines roaring No restaurant or shop nearby, isolated from Reykjavik Additional pickup cost for whale watching tour ( 2000 ISK)
Review 2:Big led TV screen Helpful front desk Clean, comfortable bed, pillows
Review 3:Staff amazing ! So helpful hotel wonderful only downside is the spa opening times should be longer as we hardly Got to use after a long day out it would be nice to come back and relax but it closes early ... We had a little problem with mattress on bed and noisy aircon ... But was sorted soon as we said and we were given complimentary spa pass and meal .. Fabulous service fabulous hotel would recommend to anyone ... And Iceland is a wonderful friendly amazing country and thankyou hotel Natura Reykjavik for a fantastic holiday and all your helpfulness
Review 4:Just a little out from the centre but good for us as we dont like noise.
Review 5:Lovely Hotel, nice staff very helpful, fantastic spa, and good food. Quiet and warm.
Review 6:We paid for a double room and it was two single beds pushed together with a gap in the middle. The thing that disappointed me the most was the spa, it's not included in the price of your stay and they try to charge hotel guests £15-£20 just for a swim, then your treatments on top, a real shame and when we asked if we could have a look at the facilities they refused to let us look.
Review 7:Hotel was a cool funky place, staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel is well connected with the centre offering free bus passes and organised your pick ups back to the airport. Beds are really comfortable and the shower looks old but it's great. Location isn't bad about a 15-20 minute walk into the heart of Reykjavik 1.2 miles. I would stay at this hotel again.
Review 8:Mix up with room bookings meant that we were put in an unsuitable room, however, they did resolve this quickly for us. Breakfast was buffet but only provided cold plates so by time sat down to eat after selecting food it was cold...
Review 9:Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, easy access to town centre with use of free bus ticket, definitely go again
Review 10:In our first room the deposit safe didn't work. They managed to find another room in the next day (but not to repair the safe!), but it was really cold there, and we had to relocate to a third room. The quality definitely didn't meet the price. Also, the hotel is located just next to the inland airport, and half of the rooms have their windows looking at the air field - not the best view, I would say
Review 11:The hotel has SPA and indoor swimming pool (though it works from 10 am to 8 pm, so you won't be able to spend therein some time in the evening), normal restaurant
Review 12:I didn't like that the shampoo/ condition were outside the shower and there was no place to put them inside the shower.
Review 13:I loved the spa. The staff was very friendly too. My room was clean and beautiful. Beds were very comfy. I even loved the toiletries! Great place, nice and quiet . I stayed here at the end of my trip after staying in the city it was a great way to wind down . I added on a volcanic tour which takes you straight to the airport and is done by Sterna tours. I was a small group and the perfect ending to a great vacation.
Review 14:We were disappointed to find that there was an additional charge to use the swimming pool. It was very expensive for the 4 of us so didn't use the pool at all.
Review 15:Homely feel with a lovely restaurant.
Review 16:Just the location
Review 17:Hotel too far out of town. It's not in the countryside. It's next to an airport. Every trip we went on we were picked up first as it's the furthest out of town and then we were dropped off last.
Review 18:Hotel was not in city centre as stated online, restaurant staff were very slow and food in restaurant was awful on first night food wasn't cooked we had to return it to kitchen and as for prices restaurant was completely over priced! We won't be recommending hotel to any of our friends that will be travelling to Iceland this year
Review 19:Free bus pass from hotel to go into town, staff on reception desk were lovely and very helpful
Review 20:When we checked in, we were early. Without our knowledge,we received one of the un-remodeled rooms. We came to find out that the small block of rooms on the 4th floor were the only rooms in the entire hotel that had not been remodeled! We received room 414. When we checked out, we saw the cleaning staff cleaning a room (door was open) further down the hall that was beautiful; hardwood floors new desk, light fixtures, drapes and appliances. Since we were there from Dec 20 through the 26, good customer service would have been to offer us a remodeled room later in the day when it became available! Room 414 was very beaten up. The furniture was dirty, scratched up and very old, the carpet was very well worn with several soiled areas, the clothes closet was dark and the overall look of the room was uninviting. Even the lamps in the room were antiquated! The bathroom shower curtain had mold on the bottom and the sewer drain on the floor kept making the room smell like urine. We had to keep the bathroom door closed and put a plastic bag over the sewer/water drain in the bathroom to keep the smell contained. The WiFi either wasn't updated in our area of the hotel (see above) or there were too many guests trying to use it at the same time. Our TV did not work when we check in, but was fixed a few days later when we inquired about it.It may have been partially our fault that we didn't get another room, we thought all of the rooms were like ours, but good customer service would have indicated that because we were at the hotel for 6 days, someone would have offered a newer room somewhere along the line.I also had to ask the cleaning staff for lotion each day. I thought they would put it in the room after cleaning.our electric kettle was pitiful. Very old and corroded coils. It did the job, but was very well worn.We would stay again, knowing what we know now and that all of the other rooms are modern, wood floors, new appliances etc.
Review 21:I liked the overall vibe of the hotel at Christmastime and the staff was very accomodating. We asked for a bus pass upon arrival based on other reviews. The bus stop was across the street and it made it easy for us to sight via the bus route and get to city center. Reykjavik Excursions was easy to book and get picked up at the hotel. We liked our room overlooking the domestic airport and had a good view of the arriving and departing aircraft which I'm sure many people would find annoying!
Review 22:It is a modern and well-designed hotel. Staff are helpful and breakfast is excellent. A short walk uphill from the hotel is the dome of Perlan with 360 degree views of the area.
Review 23:Clean and modern hotel with a spacious room and comfortable bed. Nice restaurant that serves good food and good service. Was really happy with the surprise on the door every morning during December :) Overall I would recommend and it is well located.
Review 24:The only thing about the spa/pool was that we didn't realise there is a (quite significant) extra fee for guest use.
Review 25:Christmas visits from the Icelandic Yule Lads were a highlight of our stay for our children. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the range/choice just right. The hotel was super-clean with tasteful Christmas decorations, and our family room was massive!
Review 26:Small (by American standards) rooms/bathrooms/showers. Split bedclothes, I couldn't cuddle with my date.
Review 27:Amazingly helpful staff. Bus passes to get around the city.
Review 28:I think the room could have been a little bit warmer.
Review 29:Breakfast was delicious! I loved that they had a cooked option! It was also so helpful that there was a kettle in the room.
Review 30:Food and drink were a little expensive.
Review 31:Staff was really helpful and very friendly. Free bus pass and easy access to the busses. Hotel was very clean and cosy. Each morning you got a little treat in a bag hanging on your door which I thought was sweet of them.
Review 32:In the photo the hotel is in the background by the airport,so not very central, but actually this was fine.
Review 33:Clean modern hotel, good facilities, wide range of food in the restaurant.
Review 34:Not enough light in the room, staff was arrogant and annoyed by guest, information about spa that we paid for was given at the checkout! Not that you can use it, unless instead of sightseeing you plan to stay in the hotel between 10-17 Food in the hotel restaurant was way overpriced compare what you can get in expensive restaurant in the city Location compare to the price was bad
Review 35:The rond were clean, big enough. Like the resign
Review 36:The short spa hours as all tours went late and started early. Spa staff were not very friendly and starting closing 30 minutes before close time.
Review 37:The front desk staff
Review 38:It's a shame that only one thing failed to impresse. The pillows. Very uncomfortable Pillows.
Review 39:Absolutely amazing hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 40:My only 2 small downsides are that all but 1 member of staff....she works in the restaurant and had dark hair and works in the kitchen rather than the front of house but occasionally serves when the food comes out or at lunch (didn't get her name) the staff apart from the above mentioned are very transactional..... not very intrested in hello goodbye sorry for your wait etc and in my experience this would make things more friendly and welcoming. The second issue is breakfast....we paid the first morning ....it's about £15 per person which is average however the choices were salad/fish/ham & cheese/ rolls & bread which when u dnt really eat that in the morning it doesn't help. The closest to a full English you can have is beans scrambled egg and bacon. There is no pastrys either that we could find such as croissant or Danish pastry. They also have cereal and fruit. If you are happy with continental then the spread is more than adequate my personal preference is a full English however and feel the price compared to other areas is steep for only a continental choice.
Review 41:We stayed here from the 26th - 29th November 2015. The hotel is clean, has a spa and pool facility and has nightly small events including bed time story evening on a Thursday. The restaurant has a small selection for lunch/dinner however there is adequate choice for a short stay and it is cheaper than places in town. They provide a free bus pass to get into the town which is nice of u wish to explore. The bus service is regular which helps to.
Review 42:The sauna closed at 7 pm and didn't open until 12:00 noon the next day which gave us very little window to use it resulting in a no show in the sauna for our part.
Review 43:The windows towards the airport should be soundproof to eliminate noise from the aircrafts. The SPA and sauna should be free of charge for hotel guests (fee should be included in the price).
Review 44:Nice reception area and bar. Good location and friendly staff. Ok hotel rooms.
Review 45:very small rooms. no comfortable chair to sit. pool only open till 8pm and very overpriced for a family of 5 to afford, especially since we didn't check in until 7pm. you should have a special, lower rate for late entrance for busy travelers. also the wooden statues around the main level are more creepy than artful. we didn't care for them at all.
Review 46:comfortable beds. nice public areas.
Review 47:Excellent hotel with very friendly & helpful staff available on the front desk 24 hours. Very clean and comfortable art room with lovely spa pool for relaxing after tours. Free internet access via PC's in lobby or wifi in room. Good food in Satt Restaurant. Staff on tour desk couldn't do enough to ensure trip was a pleasure. Reykjavik excursions drop off bus station was only 2 minutes away so never had to wait around at other hotels collecting people which gave us more time to relax. Reception will give you free bus passes if you want to go into Reykjavik which takes about 5 mins.
Review 48:The staff were very friendly and helpful. They rang on the morning of our arrival to check how we would like the beds in the family room we had booked arranging.
Review 49:I thought it was next to the airport but it was next to the domestic one and so my directions were totally wrong.
Review 50:Staff were very friendly and so helpful giving us ideas to visit. Food was good especially the breakfast, well worth the money.
Review 51:We didn't have a bad experience but I felt location wasnn't the best. Away from everything going on in Reykjavik. As for breakfast there should be an option menu and brunch/buffet. Not everyone eats a big breakfast.
Review 52:Accomodations were very nice and very clean.
Review 53:Far away from centre There wasn't a free shuttle bus as advertised- it was a regular bus service that dropped you off nowhere near the centre of the city Expensive Poor location- next to domestic airport to quite noisy You had to pay to use the spa facilities- pool etc
Review 54:One of the reasons we pick this hotel was that it had a swimming pool. Up to now, non of the hotels we stead at ever charged for the use of the pool it was a great disappointment that this hotel wanted to charge us quite a lot of money for using the pool.
Review 55:The hotel is quite over-priced. The rooms are quite quite small with minimum amenities. The bathroom was also quite a small one. For the price you pay, there are many better options (as we figured when we stayed at a different hotel on the way back).
Review 56:The only thing good about the hotel was that the staff was quite courteous.
Review 57:Settled the bill before leaving and asked bill to be closed. Staff made an error with the charges and then charged my credit card for the extra night without permission or knowledge. Extremely unhappy about this and poor customer service from the front desk - very unorganized and standing talking all the time.
Review 58:Clean hotel but the rooms very basic for a 4 star - very few amenities also toiletries was only a hand wash and shower gel in the bathroom. I would say it is more 3 star. Easy to get to the city center but I would stay more central next time.
Review 59:Spa a great idea. Opens too late and closes too early for guests who also want to go sight seeing. Closing at 5 on Sunday is crazy! Opening times designed to deter use!
Review 60:Friendly staff, good breakfast
Review 61:I felt that the outside of the hotel could be improved as it didn't give a true reflection of the inside.
Review 62:I enjoyed pretty much everything about my stay at this hotel. The breakfast was lovely and I really enjoyed the wood decorations/statues that were placed around the hotel. The staff were also great - very friendly and helpful.
Review 63:located in airport area but on the opposite side of terminal building, no shuttle bus to terminal building, so not a hotel for those who use airport, we took a taxi to airport, though we saw a runway of airport from a room in 10 m distance. it is not hotel's fault and just different from we thought from it's location and name.
Review 64:nice view of airport
Review 65:When I saw the hotel was by the airport I thought it was by THE airport, not the local one. I had a rediculously early flight and wanted to be close, it took me nearly an hour to get to the airport. Leaving at 3:30 am is not fun as I was near town.
Review 66:Nice, clean hotel.
Review 67:Although the staff were proficiently polite I did not feel any real warmth, or friendliness from them. Also my room looked out on an airfield, and I had to hear planes landing and departing.
Review 68:I love that the hotel is really ecological!. I did not use the spa, but would like to next time.
Review 69:Internet policy is very restrict as if you exceed your time limit you'll be automatically kicked-out from the site without an alarm to save your work. Could not found toiletries.
Review 70:Friendly staff. Spacious room. Nice art gallery at the lobby. At the door step of Icelandair offices.
Review 71:Expensive in general in Iceland compared to home so bring lots of spending money!
Review 72:We got use of spa facilities with our stay and spent a lovely morning in the pool, sauna, steam room and thermal pool. Satt restaurant was lovely but the food in general is a little pricier than at home. Drinks at the bar are half price during happy hour 4-6pm. Excellent service. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free bus passes to the city centre. Very clean and comfortable rooms- we were in one of the poet rooms. We enjoyed the beer tasting event and the Icelandic male voice choir!
Review 73:Standard hotel room facilities. Simple, but everything works fine. Staffs were good. Restaurant downstair called "satt" was actually very nice and not super expensive. The hotel gives free city bus pass, it was very nice.
Review 74:The staff was the best part of this hotel. They are incredibly nice and helpful. They know Reykjavik very well, and are happy to help you figure out what to do and how to get there. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. Awesome stay!
Review 75:The facilities are a little dated, specifically the bathroom. The toilet ran all night and you can tell they haven't updated in a while. For 135 Euro is was alright.
Review 76:It is a nice hotel with a great nature theme. The stuffed birds were very cool and the sculptures added a nice atmosphere.
Review 77:The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had two single beds instead of a double, but it's possible I forgot to request that upon booking and I definitely forgot to request it upon check in. Not a big issue and we enjoyed our stay! It's a short walk downtown (~20min) and if it's too cold or wet to do so, there's a free bus.
Review 78:Restaurant staff had hard time keeping up with breakfast crowd some mornings, as a result some selections not readily available.
Review 79:Close to downtown Reykjavik, friendly staff throughout the facility.
Review 80:The hotel staff was very accommodating. We had accidentally booked the wrong Icelandair hotel (Reykjavik instead of Keflavik) , and they graciously transferred our pre-paid booking without any fees when we arrived.
Review 81:Wi-Fi is a bit tricky and annoying as you have to enter your info on a daily basis to obtain the free Wi-Fi.
Review 82:Friendly and helpful staff, clean, good location, reasonable priced. Next to domestic airport and just up the road from a beach and geothermal pools in a cove (note: pools close to for winter season from August 15th every year). Also near famed Church (you can walk to it in good weather in about 20 minutes).
Review 83:Really poor breakfast. Rushed by staff ( arrived at 9.20). No choice left and nothing replenished , should have paid less. Staff were a bit curt.
Review 84:Quality of the room and free bus pass
Review 85:Everything is too expensive, but it's Iceland. I expected the hotel to be located in close vicinity to the domestic airport where I have to take the morning flight. But in fact it is on the opposite side, so you either have to walk or take taxi. Instead I could stay in the downtown and take taxi anyway.
Review 86:Breakfast is amazing. Location is ok and the hotel provides complimentary bus tickets for guests. You can enjoy short hike to the Perlan hill just near the hotel. The view you'll enjoy is really spectacular! Hotel is good for one night stay between the flights. But also looks like a good conference centre. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. View over the local airport is not something you often enjoy in other hotels.
Review 87:Given the monopoly this hotel has on customers wanting close access tothe airport, it would seem this would allow the staff to be pushy andarrogant. I came to this hotel for just an overnight layover and itstated on their marketing literature that breakfast would be open earlyat 4:30am during the summer months until 15 September. This was alsoconfirmed in their in-room breakfast menu. Upon arriving I was told thebreakfast doesn't open until 6:30am. I was directed to a smallfridge to buy Icelandic yoghurt and day old soggy sandwiches. Thesecosts about $aus15. When I checked out I mentioned the discrepancy intheir advertising and was told abruptly by the receptionist Nick to"just send us an email with your complaint". There was noapology or look of concern, even though this little mess up caused me tobe unable to sleep as I can never sleep on an empty stomach; and ruinedmy entire day. Additionally the cleaning staff were pushy and hardlygave me any time to answer or call out I am here when the they knockedbefore the check out time twice! Whole experience was disappointinggiven the high standards of Icelandic customer service I haveexperienced in the past.
Review 88:Perhaps blandest hotel in Iceland; but will suit business customersneeding close access to Rekyavik airport. Good wifi and businessfacilities. But bad customer service.
Review 89:The staff were surly and unhelpful. I checked in wearing my wedding dress and flowers and no one on the front said said congratulations. The girls in the spa were also unaccommodating and it felt like they couldn't be bothered.
Review 90:The free phones for the taxis were good and I liked the view of the airfield.
Review 91:Our window faced a small airport, which was quite loud at times. Not the hotels fault, obviously, but I wasn't aware how close we would be to the airport when I booked the hotel.
Review 92:Location was good, right on the bus line to get downtown. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Family room was a good size. Much larger than most of the small hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs we stayed at during our trip, so it was nice to have the luxuries of a larger hotel for a night.
Review 93:shower door was really loud and I was nervous about waking other guests. I found others' hair in the shower.
Review 94:the lobby and the public layout was really cool!
Review 95:The food was bad. Same limited breakfast every day, nothing different. Restaurant wasn't open all the time. Dinner was bad too.
Review 96:Location, it was far from town but quiet
Review 97:no late night food service, but the meals overall were very good.
Review 98:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and very good. Location was great although you need a car to get into the city and for touring. even though it was right next to a regional airport the noise level was not an issue
Review 99:Room service food was not as good as hoped for, and glass of wine was small.
Review 100:Staff very helpful, room service very fast. Room was clean and comfortable.
Review 101:Noisy being right next to the airport Opening hours of the pool were quite limited
Review 102:Tourist desk in foyer very helpful Staff were great Free bus pass made the location less of a problem
Review 103:Overpriced.
Review 104:Absolutely great breakfast! Excellent selection and quality of food. Probably the best breakfast in Iceland. Accommodating staff, clean room, free bus to the city.
Review 105:It's a pretty long walk into town. They offer free bus pass, but that didn't work for me.
Review 106:The flora deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable. There's no a/c and sometimes the room is very warm. The spa is wonderful and included in the deluxe room category.
Review 107:Chose for close location to Reykjavik City Airport but in reality it is rather far. 30 minutes walk or 2000 Kroner distance by taxi. Air port sounds are loud but as noted its a long way from hotel to actual entrance to airport.
Review 108:Lovely new-ish hotel with great staff. If comfort is greatest concern, then place for you. Restaurant for dinner is very good value. Food was excellent.
Review 109:There is domestic airport right behind the hotel. So there is lot of noise inside the rooms from early morning to late night. If you shut the windows to avoid this noise, it is a bit suffocating inside.
Review 110:The tour desk team is very helpful. The pool area is good.
Review 111:You have to pay extra for the spa facilities
Review 112:Lovely bedroom, great breakfast, extremely helpful staff, easy to get to town - and free bus pass if you want it
Review 113:Art rooms are a little bit basic but clean and comfortable. Spa pool was not very calming as full with a family of children who were jumping in and out of the pool. Brunch buffet was delicious but the breakfast was a little underwhelming.
Review 114:Massage therapist was fantastic definitely worth booking one during your stay. Brunch buffet was delicious but the breakfast was a little underwhelming. Seating areas to relax around the foyer are very pleasant. Staff are very friendly and very helpful.
Review 115:the rooms were a bit too warm and being charge a small fee to use the pool even when they said it was of charge for residents, the breakfast that my daughter had was not to her taste or liking.
Review 116:locality was great and the service was warm and friendly
Review 117:Quality of evening meals was poor. We had a cold pizza on one evening and a poor fish dish on another evening.
Review 118:Excellent room quality. Polite staff. Good spa facilities.
Review 119:The hotel is right next to the general aviation terminal of Reykjavík domestic airport (not to be confused with the international one in Keflavík!), so it's the perfect choice if you're a private pilot and want to go flying yourself. We asked for a room overlooking the airport and got one on the top floor – perfect! The breakfast buffet was very good as well.
Review 120:The location wasn't quite as central as we had hoped, but as the hotel gives you a free bus pass to get about we feel this means we can't not rate the location as excellent! Loved the excellent spa/pool facility! Bit on the pricey side as the price we paid didn't include breakfast.
Review 121:Tea, sugar & milk was replaced but inadequate. The plug in jug was not near a plug point.Suggest the pool facility to be kept open till 9.30 pm as many return to hotel from tours very late & would love to relax in pool.
Review 122:Location was very peaceful. Also the free travel card for bus transport made it practicle. No 5 bus from nearby takes you to one end of the main shopping street Hellur which is the main bus stand too.Hotel pool was lovelly but closes at 8pm & Sundays 5 pm !! Book with this facility.
Review 123:My advice is to never use Hertz rental across from the hotel. They appear to be taking advantage of hotel guests by adding excessive charges.
Review 124:Very comfortable hotel with easy access to downtown Reykjavik and the Ring Road. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.
Review 125:Not clean, used sheets, hairs and stain on it and tooth string on the floor in the living room and lots of dust under the bed and had been there for a long time, lots of it !
Review 126:Nice room, nice hotel and nice pool area with hot tub, pool, steam bath and sauna !
Review 127:I did not realize that the hotel was 50 miles from the airport. It was very scary to have to board a bus in the middle of the night but everyone was very helpful and everyone spoke English.
Review 128:Had a lovely quiet room as per request.. However Internet connection was quite poor.. But you can't have everything..
Review 129:Very friendly helpful staff.. Allowed us to stay in our room after check out time as my wife was sick..Very clean and comfortable.. Wonderful breakfast selection..Free city bus pass for duration of stay.. Bus stop outside hotel..
Review 130:The rooms were very underwhelming. Although clean, there was no table at which to eat (only the desk where the TV sits), and no real place to convene with friends. The rooms/bathroom are extremely small.
Review 131:It was completely worth it to purchase the Spa Access pass, because it was the nicest/cleanest part of the entire hotel.
Review 132:Location for drop off and pick up for excursions very good and hassle free. Rooms warm and clean Free local travel bus pass issued and the bus stop outside hotel timetable offered. Good wifi reception
Review 133:The room need a little bit TLC , and definitely need to upgrade the telly .One more important thing is theres lacking of tv channels , where you need more for your guests
Review 134:Both of the staff i have met are very nice and knowledgable to deal with your issues . Location is not too far away from the city center ( you need to take the bus though ). The hotel is included like spa , although is included in your hotel rate but price is reasonable . They do have services like booking tours for tourists , making it easier for those who are not on self drive .
