Reviews for Glenmore House
Review 1:Shower door fell apart. Shower drain was blocked so stood in a few inches of water when showering. Decor was very dated. Room absolutely stank of cigarettes, possibly seeping in from the adjacent room.
Review 2:Proximity to Dublin airport
Review 3:No wifi connection rooms. The internet connection was poor in the evening in the common area. Many people were trying to connect. Later in the evening the connection was better again.
Review 4:Convenient to Dublin airport. Good price
Review 5:We only stayed at this hotel because we had an early flight to catch from Dublin Airport the next day. Was great value for money if you're looking to stay close to the airport! Taxi ride from the airport was quite cheap, about €10 or so. There is also a shuttle we could have taken, but the schedule/location was a little confusing.
Review 6:Easy wee hotel to get to. I walked from the airport to stretch my legs after being cramped up for so long. Easy transport link in the morning back to the airport with the conveniently located bus stop. Don't be put off by the old, faded and degraded main sign out on the road - its the only poor quality thing about this hotel.
Review 7:We had to wait 2 hours out of our room because the keys didn't work and there was no one at the reception, no one answered to the phone. It was night and we were very tired.
Review 8:It's really near the airport, nice, calm and cleaned.
Review 9:Reception is not 24hrs. When I got there late, they left a key in an envelope with my name on it. Not a big deal to me, but it may be problematic for others.
Review 10:Close to the airport, cozy, good breakfast, paid (but cheap) shuttle service to the airport which is about 5 mins away.
Review 11:My shower had no water pressure - merely a trickle - and no way to adjust the position of the shower head, unfortunately
Review 12:Good place to stay if you can't find a reasonably priced room within the airport complex. They were happy to accomodate a late check in & early departure, & the bed was comfortable. Great to be able to grab tea & toast before leaving!
Review 13:Wifi didn't work in the rooms, the state of the rooms was quite aged, not all the lights in the rooms worked.
Review 14:Decent sized room, good for one night. Nice and warm. On the bus route into Dublin City and also shuttle service for the airport.
Review 15:Could smarten up the entrance hall I'd floor covering on stairs suggest hard wear flooring carpet which is cheap but serviceable and attractive more important hard wearing
Review 16:Good value .Breakfast was lovely
Review 17:miniscule tv in corner of room. Threadbare carpet on stairs. Mould in the bathroom, stains on carpet in bedroom. Heating wasnt on all the time. Missed the place first time, name not lit up outside, no lighting in driveway, potholes in driveway
Review 18:Close to the airport
Review 19:Staff member was unbelievable. Argued with me when i pointed out a miscommunication to them on the website, laughed and sneered at me, called up to my room at 9:45PM to continue to argue with me over one thing i had made a comment on in regards to payment method. The staff member told me when i asked where do i go to get to my room, look at the signs, i was actually gobsmacked at how disgraceful the staff treated me and looked was unbelievable i have never experienced such bad behavior from Staff and disturbing me to argue at 9:45pm when what i pointed out was correct still wouldn’t accept it. Car park no lights in big one and mud and pot holes everywhere and had to drag my suitcase through mud......
Review 20:Not Much just that it was close to Airport
Review 21:no kettle in the room, stood 45 min in cold waiting for the shuttle bus,no info about which one it was till I rang the hotel, after ringing about 6 times was told it was a premier inn bus.Over priced for facilities available. If they don't want to be classed as a hotel as stated on notice board they should not charge hotel prices..
Review 22:it was fairly close to airport and we only stopped one night
Review 23:The carpet in the room was dirty, the windows did not close properly and the heating in the first room assigned to us was not working. The overall decor of the house was dated and in some parts shabby. The presentation of the breakfast and the disposition of the lady in charge did not match the price charged for the stay!
Review 24:The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.
Review 25:A little bit dated but that's the only thing even that wasn't a problem 4 us
Review 26:V v near airport. Great shuttle bus. Left out breakfast 4 us at 5 am. Will definitely go back again. V friendly and helpful guy on the desk. V quite area
Review 27:There seem to be issues with the bathroom. The toilet water when refilling in the tank was loud and took awhile to refill. The lights in the bathroom took awhile to turn on.
Review 28:Although the Manor House appears to be quite an old house in age, the room I stayed in was well-kept and clean.
Review 29:Terrible terrible terrible read above they sold my room had to sleep with staff in smoke ridden filththy room with no sheet just dirty quilt.
Review 30:Phoned to say I would be late due to flight and time I got there they sold my room so at 11pm at night a woman on her own I had to sleep in staff house with a bare mattress with a tatty quilt in a mans house and people smoking. They said my card was declined when they checked me in before i got there but im sure was an excuse to sell my room. Absoulytely terrible
Review 31:Maura was brilliant and very helpful, she even lent us money for the bus! We gave it back to the man (I'm not sure of his name) it was only 2 Euro's but I hope she got it.
Review 32:very friendly reception, a lot of info available, time of the bus, how long it will take to the airport, etc. place to have coffee & biscuits and interact with other guests.
Review 33:we wanted a place close to the airport for an early morning flight, this location fit the bill. It was reasonably priced with excellent shuttle service to the airport. Staff were helpful and friendly, leaving breakfast for us although we were leaving at5:45 am.
Review 34:Would be lovely to have hot freshly cooked breakfast
Review 35:Great location as the purpose of our trip was to attend a gig at the Wright venue and the BnB is only walking distance from there. Great value for money. Clean room and comfy bed. Balcony with a nice view of the garden :)
Review 36:If you're picky it might not be clean enough for you, perfect for us as we didn't have to worry too much- traveling with small children... :)
Review 37:It is very close to the airport, and easy/cheap to reach. Coffee and tea was provided at all times for free. Breakfast was simple but good. Staff was friendly.
Review 38:The room hadn't been cleaned carefully and the towels were very old and worn out. The toilet did not flush properly.
Review 39:The location was very convenient as buses stopped right outside the place. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. Staff very friendly.
Review 40:Nothing in the area to walk to for a meal or a drink. Television to hard to hear had to turn volume so loud was afraid of bothering other guest. Carpet in room very, very, very worn.
Review 41:Ease of transportation to and from Airport and catching bus to city centre.
Review 42:There were stains on the sheets, lipstick smear on the coverlet and hair in the bed. Morning staff reluctantly helpful.
Review 43:The shuttle service and an informative staff. Towels were clean. Bathroom fine.
Review 44:It was definitely "budget" everything was clean and worked fine. We shared a 4 bed room with the other couple we traveled with. We each had a twin bed and worked out fine. Worth the savings.
Review 45:Great location by the airport, free parking.
Review 46:We didn't have tea or coffee facilities in our room.
Review 47:Location is very close to Dublin airport and easy to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to leave very early, before breakfast was served, however we were able to help ourselves to coffee and cereals in the dining room
Review 48:Nothing bad
Review 49:Reception extremely friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee available at all times. Lovely sitting room to relax in and chat with other guests. Very relaxing after a hectic day of sightseeing in Dublin.
Review 50:Not for you if you like everything pristine. The hotel very tired and shabby. It could do with complete new décor and furniture. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a holiday.
Review 51:If you don't mind basic, the staff are very friendly, the bed comfy and clean and its reasonable value for money. I was even impressed with the hairdryer. Everything you need for a stop over visit (to or from a flight)
Review 52:No bar, tiny TV, on WIFI, no restaurant., in fact it was a bed fpr the night and a very limited continental breakfast.
Review 53:It is a B&B nothing more. First time I have been in a single bed in a hotel for 30 yrs strange! But you get what you pay for. So for a B&B it was average at best.
Review 54:Poor service, could only sleep in two of the four beds due to matresses sagging in the middle. Filthy, lobby smells of cigarette smoke. Desk attendant insisted on having a shouting match. Dreadful. Enough to make you stop travelling.
Review 55:Close to airport.
Review 56:Only a small thing but the WiFi was intermittent.
Review 57:The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom/shower was fine. The facilities are good value for money. The staff were really very helpful and keen to help
Review 58:The carpet in our room needs replacing as it was quite soiled and one of the twin bed mattress also needs to be replaced.
Review 59:Location is convenient and there's a pub/restaurant within walking distance. The staff we saw was pleasant and accommodating.
Review 60:Had to go across road to find someone to check in. Wifi didn't work at all and no remote to TV. When I went across the road to complain. I was told someone would come. No one did. Beds very uncomfortable
Review 61:The area was lovely
Review 62:Could not access WiFi. Hopper Shuttle offered in Booking.com info did not go to this hotel. Premiere shuttle needs to be listed. Waited over an hour for the wrong bus. Taxi is ten euros.
Review 63:Airport shuttle was available, but info in Booking.com needs updating.
Review 64:Would much rather a hot breakfast as continental was only option so we decided to go into town to get a hot breakfast. Its the only downfall to a wonderful B&B
Review 65:Very frieldly staff very accomadating. Excellent location and excellent value for money
Review 66:Really nice homely B & B. Self service breakfast for early morning Shuttle bus to airport early morning. We walked about 15 minutes to a restaurant when we asked for a recommendation for food.
Review 67:bathroom was in poor repair, and they gave the impression that the bus to the airport was on site , while in fact it was an local bus.
Review 68:Location, and price
Review 69:Did not sleep very well,,beds so old and uncomfortable. Kept awake by the person snoring so loud in the room next door
Review 70:Proximity to airport, and reliable shuttle service. Receptionist nice and informative.
Review 71:The room was old, stained carpet, gaps between the wall and the bath, dirty ashtray full of butts on the balcony!
Review 72:Breakfast was the best part of this stay
Review 73:The Wi-fi is only available near the reception area, the whole facility was drabby and the breakfast buffet was an odd assortment of meats, cheeses, bread and cereal. And only instant coffee.
Review 74:Glenmore house is a 5-minute drive to the airport so it is good to stay for one night if you are flying out the next day. The place seemed understaffed but the folks who were on hand were nice.
Review 75:No coffee making facilities in room. The shower was grubby. The shower head dripped all night and water came out at a trickle - impossible to get washed in !! The carpet needed vacuuming.
Review 76:It was convenient for the airport.
Review 77:Wi Fi only available in lobby area. Bed not too comfortable.
Review 78:It was very convenient for dropping off the rental car in the morning. Staff was friendly.
Review 79:No hair conditioner. Woken by arrival of guest having trouble getting in to the unattended guesthouse at 3.00 am.
Review 80:Location for early departure from the airport. Advice for getting public transport to nearby airport.
Review 81:If this place got a little more TLC it would be a little gem !
Review 82:Location , bus service excellent , Breakfast excellent , tea at all times , great idea , quiet , , room size , shower & bathroom very good ,
Review 83:no restaurant nearby (within walking distance) for dinner have to cross the busy highway road if arrive at the bus stop across the street, its quite dangerous when travelling with bulky luggage. Internet only work at lobby and dining room, not in the hotel room.
Review 84:helpful staff breakfast
Review 85:The only thing I would fault was noise in the middle of the night from other guests maybe leaving for night flights. They seemed to forget that other guests were maybe trying to sleep.
Review 86:It was a nice guest house set back from the road. It was close to the airport and perfect for my stay on the eve of my holiday to Canada, leaving me stress free in the morning.
Review 87:The beds are quiet old, mattresses perhaps need replacing.
Review 88:Glen more House Hotel, is less than 5 minutes from the Airport, that is why we stayed there. The rooms are comfortable, but not fancy. We saw Glenmore Hotel as a transit hotel.
Review 89:I moved from a private room in a central Dublin hostel to this B&B for a comfortable last night prior to my early flight home ; this wasn't better than the private room at the hostel, and was double the cost. I was dissapoonted.
Review 90:It was close to the airport.
Review 91:The only poor thing we found with this place was problems with our balcony room - we were given a balcony room which didnt have keys to the balcony door :/ When I asked about this, I was told they had been stolen by a previous guest and that we couldn't transfer to another room as all were booked. In fairness to Eve she did offer to refund us and we could go elsewhere but also said that as it was the weekend the balcony doors would be locked anyway for safety reasons (We were told this Friday morning.) Regardless of our feelings about this (we felt there should be some kind of notice to say the balconies would be locked on weekends,) when we came back Friday night there were people on the balcony next door and again Saturday morning, so the "rule" of all doors being locked, which made us decide to stay anyway if everyone was in the same situation, wasn't implemented!! Had we known this we would've gone elsewhere. My thanks to Eve for the offer but we felt this spoilt our otherwise nice stay.
Review 92:Our stay at Glenmore house was just for a few days and we found the location very useful as it is just ten minutes from the airport. The staff are keen to help and our room was very clean and comfortable. The wifi isn't available in the bedrooms and we had trouble connecting to it at all downstairs, which made it difficult to plan routes and things, although if you ask at the desk to reset the router they do. Breakfast was nice, if you go later more varieties of food are put out for you which we found a bit strange - go around 9am for more choice :) Overall a good experience and we met some lovely other travellers, also there is a pub/restaurant down the road called the countryman inn which is wonderful for evening meals!! Definitely check it out while you're there, fantastic food and the service is second to none!
Review 93:No WiFi except at the lobby. The place really needs to be modernized. Some tiles were missing in the bathroom. There is a feeling of lack of cleanliness that gave me a very uncomfortable feeling.
Review 94:Staff was very friendly. Very close to the airport. Convenient when travelling very early.
Review 95:Some of the finishing touches in the bathroom (exposed holes in the concrete floor for pipes. Shower door adjustment) Wifi only in lobby area but that's ok
Review 96:The location next to the airport. You couldn't get any closer. Compared to other locations good value. Great restaurant Coachman's just down the street. Free parking. Easy to get to. Gas station very close to refuel your rental car before turn in.
Review 97:Lack of information how to get there from airport. I could not understand the guy as his English was poor. Get the information earlier cause later can be very difficult.
Review 98:Not too much but it is ok to go there by walk, max 30 min.
Review 99:Recommended to get Hopper bus which isn't that frequent. We would have been waiting ages only we asked the travel lodge bus and he brings you too!! Ask all buses!
Review 100:Convenience to airport. Bus pickup right at gate
Review 101:Had to go to the common areas to access wifi (although it did say that they are aware of problems and trying to address them)
Review 102:Very close to the airport & within walking distance of a pub & restaurant. Very warm welcome from the friendly chap on reception even though he was very busy and seemed to be running everything on his own (didn't get his name, sorry)
Review 103:Access poor (double lines). Bathroom in tatters. Breakfast made up from 24/7 shopping! Over priced for quality delivered.
Review 104:Close to airport and shopping center
Review 105:Wifi was not available in the bedrooms. We booked a family room, but got 4 single beds. We were told that we could have tea/coffee at anytime. My son and I got told off for making coffee at 11:45pm!We were asked to bring it to our bedroom.
Review 106:It was convenient to the airport.
Review 107:It is what it is. Good value, rested well and staff all more than accommodating with any request. Gave a lot of time advising of local offers, transport and airport directions. Woke up organised and relaxed, which was purpose of booking. Thanks
Review 108:As an airport hotel they should know most people would want a shuttle - they do have one but finding info about it before arrival was difficult
Review 109:Great value for a quick night close to the airport
Review 110:They said they had wifi in main areas. Never did work anywhere in building. Continental breakfast was cereal and toast. The staff talked amongst themselves, but never acknowledged guests. The building Felt run down.
Review 111:Close to airport
Review 112:Charming homey building back off the main road. Quiet. Reception friendly and efficient. Nice hot water for bath. Was perfect for me. Wifi signal in the room would be nice.
Review 113:We stayed on the ground floor. The bathrooms were run down and the wifi reception in our room was non existent. The rooms did not have a kettle, cups or tea which was an inconvenience for me, a early morning tea drinker.
Review 114:The nearness to the airport.
Review 115:WIFI did not work for me, but did a bit for others
Review 116:Location- close to airport. Also surprising quiet and rural. Breakfast was good; buffet continental. It was excellent value all round
Review 117:Very comfortable beds and big room. We had to catch a 6.50am flight and we could catch the shuttle bus from the end of the drive directly to the airport. Brilliant for this time of the morning when you're half asleep! Because we left so early, we could help ourselves to breakfast in the dining room and we found everything we needed! Very convenient and practical.
Review 118:Very low standard of cleanliness. Under the rim of the toilet bowl was filthy. There were cobwebs hanging off the speaker just above the table where the breakfast food was laid out. Decor, carpets etc all very shabby.
Review 119:Receptionist very helpful with personal request.
Review 120:I was woken up by the housekeeper who had no clue i was in the room or that the room had been sold.
Review 121:Last minute booking. Close to airport, good price and free breakkie.
Review 122:The single room at the top of the stairs is the worse one to get an early nights sleep. The phone rang until about 11 and the noise in the corridor from other guests were distributing. The room next to mine had their bathroom on a adjoining wall and I could here the people using the shower and toilet and the noise from the shower pump was loud. I had booked the motel since it was close to the airport for my early morning departure however I only had a few hours of sleep:-(
Review 123:Location to the airport
Review 124:Couldn't figure out how to work shower and no staff on reception at 4am. Waited in the cold and wet at airport for shuttle bus to Glenmore House for over an hour because when I rang to tell them what time I was arriving the person I spoke to omitted to say that I should catch the Premier Inn bus that dropped off at them.
Review 125:Handy for airport. Had shuttle to airport. Reception staff were helpful on arrival.
Review 126:Heavy comforter on bed--would have liked a mid-weight blanket option
Review 127:The clean bathroom Helpfulness of desk person Comfortable bed Convenience of shuttle to airport
Review 128:It is dated (but clean), molding falling off tub in bathroom.
Review 129:Five minute shuttle bus ride (2 euros) Dublin airport. Continental breakfast. Helpful staff. Private WC shower/bath with hot water.
Review 130:We had twin beds and both had uncomfortable old mattresses.
Review 131:In addition to its location near the airport, the village of Swords has many choices for eating out, and it had a nice old castle. I liked having a top sheet! In many places we stayed, the custom is to have only a bottom sheet and a comforter with a duvet. The continental breakfast was nice: fresh tomatoes, ham and cheese in addition to the cereal, bread and yogurt.
Review 132:Basic supplies. No tea/coffee facilities in room.
Review 133:Very clean and so well positioned for airport. Requested quiet room and given it.Comfortable bed and good linen and towels. Good continental breakfast. Very happy with my choice.
Review 134:Not enough parking, had to park in the garden area on the grass. Time of check out - 11am, there was no option of a late check out. On information card in room, it was mentioned that tea/coffee was available at any time in the restaurant. when we went to get some thing we were told it was put away.
Review 135:Comfortable rooms
Review 136:A bit basic, but perfect for my use - a one-night stay over between flights
Review 137:Really friendly staff, and five minutes by shuttle bus (2EUR) from the airport. The staff were great, stayed open late for me, and gave me a good deal.
Review 138:The lady that took our bookin at resepsion was not very friendly.she could make more of an efort with her guest..the whole place could do with a lick of paint but all in all a nice stay..
Review 139:Very homely.garden lovely.very relaxed.we had a balcony outside our room lovely on sunny days.
Review 140:It was convenient to Dublin Airport but as we arrived in after 12 midnight we had to get taxi as shuttle bus finishes at 11 pm . Room was clean & comfortable & quiet
