Whale Watch Ocean Beach Resort sells fast on our site. Located 12.4 miles from the township of Dunwich, Whale Watch Resort features direct beach access via a private pathway. It offers spacious, self-contained apartments with both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Guests can take a relaxing dip in the outdoor swimming pool.
Whale Watch Resort is 1,650 feet from Captain Cook's Lookout. It is a 5-minute walk from the Point Lookout Surf Club, cafes and shops.
Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining setting and a washing machine. It offers a lounge area with a flat-screen TV and a DVD player.

Review 1：Bed broke and freezer didn't work so frozen food ruined unfortunately. Public holidays didn't help as we didn't seek help until the office reopened! The bed was supposed to be brand new but had rust where the leg broke.

Review 5：The games room is musty & very tired. pooltable mat torn. But we had a fun game of table tennis anyway. The pool area is very small for such a large complex. The eateries on the island are very substandard so would have been nice if we'd had a barbecue on our balcony
Review 6：Travelled with adult children. We had a 3 bedroom apartment all with ocean views (additional cost obviously). It was lovely, felt homely & the views were amazing. The best beach on the island is right there.

Review 10：Nothing major, the ironing board was worn and thin and made a mark in the dress I was wearing to the wedding. The unit was spacious but the lounge wasn't very comfortable to sit in. No Wifi was a HUGE issue as I had uni students wanting to do work but with no wifi they used a lot of their data

Review 12：Would be good to have the bindis treated in the grassed areas - beach holidays = bare feet. Would've been helpful to have a few more cooking utensils eg grater, large serving spoon, saucepans. The kettle switch is hit & miss & the light bulb over the outside dining table has blown. Bathroom taps need adjusting as they spurt out very forcefully when turned on.

Hot water system would only allow two people to have a quick shower and then you would loose hot water for 10+ hours. We had a 6 bedroom apartment yet the lounge wasn't designed for more than 4 people. Apartment defiantly needs new furniture. Furniture is very old and worn out.

Review 26：While the room was very clean, the leather couch needed a really good scrub down and some of the spare blankets really should have been disposed of as they were filthy. The only other thing I wasn't happy with was they took the remainder of the booking cost off my credit card before even advising me or even arriving at the hotel. As a result, my credit card is now overdrawn and I have to pay fees - not happy with this at all!

Review 31：When I booked an OCEANVIEW Apartment I EXPECTED an Oceanview not having to lean over the side balcony to be able to get a glimpse of the ocean and I mean ONLY a glimpse and the loose pavers in walkways were very dangerous. Also unit had a stale smell and no screens to keep out mosquitos and sandflies so u couldnt leave doors open

Review 38：For a self contained apartment there were not enough utensils in the kitchen to cater for 4 people, no can opener, pots & pans minimal & in bad condition. No sharp knives. One bed had springs sticking out of it. New curtains didn't come down to window sill level so your face copped the sun at first light. We couldn't use the washing machine as it leaked all over the floor first day. Think owners need to spend some time in their unit to understand. Plus a HUGE problem with outside people just walking in off the street to use the pool, we watched daily people using the pool so we didn't get down there much too busy so not fair when we are paying for use of the pool area & they aren't. Also no extraction fans in the bathrooms.

Review 48：Bad acoustics generally in the building - noise travels very easily between apartments (from common areas and adjacent apartments). No flyscreens on our particular apartment - which was strange as we viewed fly screens on other apartments in the complex. This meant closing up in the evenings to avoid mossies and relying on A/C - not ideal when there is great access to sea breezes. Some renovation work was being finalised during our stay - we were warned (thank you) but thought it wouldn't be directly above and below us... unfortunately the day it was completed we had a group of young partiers move in above us, needless to say our last night wasn't restful...
Review 49：Location - proximity to beach and cafes is only a short walk away. Assortment of DVDs, books etc in the room was a nice touch. Helpful staff. Apartments set up well for families - would recommend for this group, however if you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway it may not be your first choice.

Review 62：i really wanted to gaze out at the ocean, an ocean FRONT room. altho the view from the balcony was lovely. also i just felt that the complimentary stuff was a bit lean, eg only 4 tea bags for a 3 night stay. i needed to ask for an extra blanket. but i was especially a bit daunted by no extra roll of toilet paper being provided. the blinds in the bedroom did no cut out the light.

A crossbar at the lower rear on one of the balcony chairs is broken. There is a cigarette burn on the top (back) of the lounge chair. A sandwich toaster, which may or may not have meant to be there was not cleaned from its last use.
