Reviews for Hotel Ard na Sidhe
Review 1:Nothing, we even got two days of blue skys!
Review 2:What a setting, the most stunning and peaceful place I think we've ever stayed. The Staff were amazing, especially Debbie.
Review 3:Room's cleanliness and maintenance might be improved (bath vent didn't work, bath floor was not clean, sink was blocked ...). Breakfast was quite common and "humble" compered to the rest of facilities supreme experience. I would expect for more.
Review 4:Location next to the lake and scenery. Amazing comfort and atmosphere. Large tided gardens surrounding, dinner quality and staff were awesome !!!
Review 5:Its only a small thing but we found the duck down duvets too warm, not really a criticism.
Review 6:Amazing location, warm and friendly staff. Sumptuous food, the ideal get away break.
Review 7:We didn't spend enough time there.
Review 8:The setting, style and quality of hotel and facilities and the staff. One of the finest stays we've ever had anywhere.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:Hard to know where to start praising this great hotel. It is tucked away in a lovely location and looks down on to an impressive lake and surrounding countryside. The grounds of the house itself are lovely and takes you back to another time with all the exotic plants and trees. The building is lovingly kept and the adjacent 'coach house' building we stayed in, has been recently refurbished to a high standard whilst retaining the charm of the main building. The food was excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. High quality and cooked to perfection. The staff deserve the highest praise. All very efficient while retaining a very friendly atmosphere, far from being stuffy as you could expect at such a hotel. Fruit and flowers awaited us in our room when we arrived and we were given a glass of complementary bubbly as we ordered our anniversary evening meal. If you find yourself looking in this region, stay at this hotel, it is lovely.
Review 11:Everything in this hotel was perfect!!! The room was spacious , the bed was so comfortable, the service is excellent. This is a place to go for couple of days of calm and tranquility !!! Will definitely be back !
Review 12:Having to leave and trying to write a comment that truly describes this hotel and location. This is a place where you could loose yourself into the natural setting of this beautiful part of Kerry, therefore leaving this was difficult.
Review 13:The setting by the lake and nestled under the surrounding woodland and hills was the most beautiful. This hotel is truly a magical place and ideal for a relaxing stay with delightful gardens that drift towards the lake shore.
Review 14:Service was sometimes strange: our starter was served before we saw the wine list and our cooked breakfasts appeared at different times!
Review 15:Fantastic location, stunning gardens, beautiful stylish old house that is well furnished.
Review 16:The room was high quality but lacked a tv. The hotel lacks a bar relying on a drinks cabinet, service in this area was variable. The dining room was decorated and laid out to an excellent but lacked atmosphere.
Review 17:Excellent small hotel set in outstanding grounds. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was very comfortable and food, although limited in choice, was delicious.
Review 18:Tranquil and very comfortable, this beautiful building, set in acres of immaculate gardens on the edge of a lake is just the place to unwind. All the staff go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable.
Review 19:It was so beautiful...the girl at the reception was so helpful and lovely!!!Also as we were able to use the facilities at the hotel europe, this was a real treat! We would recommend very highly to anybody
Review 20:The lakeside location is wonderfully tranquil. We were there for only one night before driving the ring of Kerry. Perfect place to unwind. We arrived early and fell asleep outside on the terrace as it was so peaceful!
Review 21:No nothing bad but would have liked a small gym just to try and run off some of the lovely food we had there. Even a treadmill.
Review 22:It was a lovely quiet stay, great for recharging the batteries. Its was such a luxury night away, great food.
Review 23:There are only things to like about this place.
Review 24:Gracious friendly staff, coupled with a magical location in a beautiful arts & crafts period house. All the ingredients for a wonderful break.
Review 25:There was nothing to not like.
Review 26:Beautiful location , gorgeous gardens, lovely rooms .excellent service from very friendly staff.lovely food at breakfast and dinner.
Review 27:The only think I did not like was having to leave the first evening we stayed as the dining room was closed and we had to go into Kilorgan for dinner. Now the hotel paid for the taxi - however the following night we had dinner in the hotel and it was fabulous - really just as one would wish to in such a venue.
Review 28:This special venue is like stepping back in time to an earlier gentle era of ease and relaxation. The pace of the day slows down to gentle ease and relaxed quietness. Food is superb, staff are thoughtful, gardens are beautiful, the building and atmosphere just wonderful. This is a very special place to stay as it allows one to slow down and enjoy being a guest with pleasure and gentle ease. A true delight.

Review 69:No TV. Very peaceful and immaculate. Very comfortable bed.Got free upgrade and champagne as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary
Review 70:Location. Perfect for rest near the lake. House architecture. Very nice staff.
Review 71:There were no 'downsides' to our stay.
Review 72:The buildings and extensive grounds are kept in excellent condition. The views and the lake really make this Hotel one in which you can relax, we'll away from the demands of modern life. The food was excellent and the service 1st class. We shall definitely return to enjoy the delights of one of the best places we have ever stayed.
Review 73:Absolutely nothing I didn't like. It was perfection.
Review 74:Loved everything about the hotel and staff, really really liked the gardens and being able to take the hotel boat out onto the lake to enjoy the scenery even more
Review 75:slightly disappointed the dinner menu was the same each night but the food was excellent. Tables very close together in dining room but that's being picky! cos it's such a super place to stay
Review 76:Our room was superb. Staff just lovely. Peaceful, elegant drawing room. We will keep returning
Review 77:It was a wonderful stay and a wonderful location, away from it all. The grounds are wonderful and the views of the area breath taking. Most comfortable ambiance.
Review 78:Only issue was water from plumbing was a little discolored and GPS does not take you to the hotel!
Review 79:Service was impeccable and so friendly!!! Packed us a picnic for the Ring of Kerry. Food was superb! Grounds--absolutely stunning! Private, quiet and quaint, peaceful living!
Review 80:Our room (garden house, standard room) had smallish, raised windows, so standing up was required to see the (magnificent) view. No air con despite biting midge flies in the area meaning the windows had to be shut. Dinner was overpriced and overseasoned, atmosphere brittle in restaurant.
Review 81:Setting is amazing, beautiful lake and gardens, the house is lovely too. Reception staff warm and friendy. Gave us take away coffee and croissant when we slept through breakfast.
Review 82:The physical offerings of the hotel and grounds were just beautiful and offer the possibility to have a relaxing vacation without leaving the property. The staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. We felt as though we were being invited into their home as they treated us in a warm connected manner that was engaging on a personal level. We enjoyed laughing with them and they truly seemed interested in the quality of our experience at Ard na Sidhe and in Ireland in general. Just Lovely!
Review 83:Nothing, really.
Review 84:Beautiful facility with a welcoming and accomodating staff. The restaurant offers wonderful food as well. As an architect, I was particularly impressed with the quality of the renovation- beautiful. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends or return ourselves. It was a special esxperience.
Review 85:My only fault with the hotel is that the food is not up to the standardthat it should be for such a beautiful hotel. We stayed here one yearago and the food wasnt great then either, although it had improvedslightly this year, but still wasnt good enough. One other thing is that there is no atmosphere in the dinning room so people are whispering all the time and afraid to talk out loud as everyone could hear your converstation. Perhaps its because the tables are so close together?
Review 86:The hotel is amazing and set in a beautiful location. It is a smallintimate boutique hotel.I love the fact that you can use the spa facilities in the Europe hotel in Killarney which is just amazing.
Review 87:Dining room grim -- glaring white damask linen, tables jammed together, gives the feel of a provincial boarding house. Only the (German) pastrychef knows how to cook; overcooked monkfish on a bed of orangeswede/turnip with a glutinous leek sauce deeply unpleasant. Tableservice gruff. Breakfast adequate.
Review 88:Splendid situation. Arrived in pouring rain but were warmly welcomedwith a fire, tea and freshly baked scones. Decor heavy, but notinappropriate to scale and period of the rooms (1913). When the raingave over we could walk down to the lake through beautiful gardens, wellplanted and well tended. Rooms large, immaculately clean, fresh flowerseverywhere. In general, efficient if somewhat soulless.
Review 89:We wished we could have stayed for a week. If we come back to Ireland,we'll try to do just that. The staff was incredible, the views werespectacular, the food was marvelous......the peace and quiet were verywelcome. All in all, practically perfect.
Review 90:without a GPS it's difficult to find
Review 91:A beautiful house on stunning grounds that go down to Caragh Lake - heaven on earth It's just a place where i can recommend
Review 92:We had some difficulty in locating Ard na Sidhe. Perhaps more signage along the route would be helpful. In terms of the hotel itself, our only suggestion would be the use of a top sheet on the beds and softer pillows.
Review 93:The staff was WONDERFUL and very helpful in all ways. The manor house was stunningly beautiful as was the setting and grounds. We enjoyed dining in the evening at Ard na Sidhe [ nice wine list] and breakfast was equally delicious and enjoyable. Cleanliness was impeccable and the rain shower in our bathroom was truly relaxing. This is a great placed to vacation and feel pampered .
Review 94:Weloved everything about this place. The only regret was that our itinerary didn't allow us to prolong our stay!
Review 95:We loved the location, the house itself was beautiful. The staff were excellent welcoming friendly and helpful. Fabulous gardens great for a stroll before dinner. The room was homely tastefully decorated no TV's Radios etc a real get away from it all break. Excellant.
Review 96:We were wakened at 8am by loud music from speakers right outside the hotel rooms...
Review 97:I liked the way the hotel did not have the usual hotel feel about it. More of a case of just staying in someones home.
Review 98:I booked A room in the main house for 3 nights, but I was given A pokey room in an outside convertade barn.
Review 99:Peace and tranquility
Review 100:Beautiful, historic facility. Wonderful staff. Amazing breakfast. Extensive gardens and lake access. Spacious, modern, comfortable room.
Review 101:Eine gute Anreisebeschreibung wäre von Vorteil.

Review 103:Everything here lets you know they appreciate you custom. Would highly recommend.
Review 104:Limited menu for evening meal
Review 105:Rooms and surrounding countryside

Review 107:Lovely room.
