Reviews for Evergreen Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:the car entrance is a bit narrow so just be careful turning into the property from the road
Review 2:the hosts were absolutely lovely, going above and beyond our expectations, wonderful breakfast, large room, comfy bed and took care of my friend who arrived super early and extremely jetlagged before I arrived later that evening
Review 3:The owners are top notch! There was ahorrible storm when i arrived and wanted to meet friends at the local pub - Mary without a hesitation offered to give me a lift and wouldnt take no for answer! she even offered my friend to stay over because of the bad weather. the room was clean and fairly big with a nice new bathroom! When Jimmy prepared breakfast - it was out of this planet - they really go this extra mile to make your stay memorable! Great hosts! cant thank them enough! 5*
Review 4:Mattresses were some uncomfortable and some feel the springs in the back. And the WIFI was very slow and uncomfortable
Review 5:We had a great guest experience. The place itself is beautiful, charming and green. We were in the suite wich was very big equipped and aesthetic till the smallest item Because we arrived late at night, they left the .key at the door with instructions The place was warm up and with hot water in the shower. There were fruit and cookies and more suprisses in the fridge. Mary has done more than enough to allow us a proper breakfast Some of us don't eat gluten and lactose and some of us vegetarians and she just organized us dinner with all the appropriate product And when we wanted to play golf Jimmy gave us his golf clubs. It was a great location for us because we wanted a quiet rural place and close to the city and interesting things to do. There are pubs and great restaurants
Review 6:The hosts were great , very friendly and helpful! We stayed in a family style room and it was large enought for both my husband and I and our two grown chirldren of 24 and 28. Clean, warm ,quite and neat.with comfortable beds. It has easy access to the Dublin airport which was great . Plus a wonderful breakfast to send you on your way.
Review 7:The full Irish breakfasts are basically like Full English but don't come with hash brown or fried bread or brown toast options, this is however the same everywhere. Beds and shower a bit tired, no Sky or big tv but an AWESOME view and lovely big clean rooms. A bit of modernization in a couple of areas coming up I hope will keep it at the absolute top of the tree with full stars for years to come. THANKYOU!
Review 8:SUCH lovely people, so so kind and welcoming, I cannot say thank you enough for a lovely stay. Fantastic breakfast with fresh proper coffee and fresh fruit for the fruit salad!
Review 9:The direction to find the hotel was a bit confusing and in the middle of a very dark night it was a bit difficult to find. However, they are re-designing the map, hence, should be easier to find in the future
Review 10:The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. The room were warm, nicely decorated, quiet and welcoming.
Review 11:Irish hospitality at its best. Super-friendly and super-helpful owners, extra-spacious rooms, very pretty decorated, en-suite bathroom/shower, private car park, good WiFi, TV with lots of channels. Rich and very tasty breakfast. Highly recommended! Just a couple of minutes drive to Swords (city centre) with pubs, restaurants, shops etc.
Review 12:Coming in the colder months means the rooms can be quite chilly since the heating is off during the day. But if you're out and about touring it generally won't be a problem.
Review 13:Very friendly owners. Helpful and extremely hospitable. Great location in relation to the airport and various things to do in Swords. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 14:Mary and Jimmy were great. She was wonderful from the moment we came. Got us hot tea and goodies, She took good care of us. Recommended a great pub old school house pub, it was great. Loved the atmosphere and food was wonderful. Had to leave real early so Mary made us a lunch bag with sandwiches and scones. She also arranged two vans for our group of 7 going to airport and the other to the ferry. It was very kind of her to do that for us. She also got us a taxi to the pub since we returned our vehicles. Close to airport. We loved Swords, did not know it was a happening place. Next time we will stay 2 nights before we leave to take advantage of this great town.
Review 15:Welcoming, friendly, flexible hosts. Had everything available we could have wanted. Comfortable room. Good suggestions for dinner venues. Assisted us with early get-away. Provided very helpful map and advice re dropping hire car at Dublin airport.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Mary and Jimmy are attentive, friendly and have excellent communication skills. House is very nice with updated bathrooms. Breakfast is first class.
Review 18:We received a pleasant surprise when arriving late to check in that we had a chalet to ourselves. There was plenty of room for all of family members with us knowing that we weren't disturbing any other guests. To top it all off our hosts were extremely pleasent and friendly and ensured we were all looked after. The breakfast in the morning was top notch :)
Review 19:Bathroom needed a ledge for toiletries by the sink and the bathroom window opened to the walkway for the other rooms, which was no big deal, but it was hot the night we stayed and wanted to leave window open.
Review 20:Loved the proximity to the airport and hostess was wonderful giving us directions to dinner, town and a map to the airport and was very accommodating to our morning schedule!
Review 21:- not the cheapest B&B
Review 22:- Very good (tidy and well-cared) and spacious suite - spacious for 4 people. - 20 minute drive from Dublin Airport (ideal as starting and/or end point of an ireland trip) - Mary and Jim were very nice and courteous and gave us some great tips on what to visit during our stay - we had a great first day in Ireland - breakfast was very good - huge portions and fresh stuff as well - free parking & WIFI & late arrival was without problems - excellent!
Review 23:All was well.
Review 24:Everything was great. We had our own entrance to our room. Large room and good size bath; beautiful furnishings. Great hospitality by the hosts.
Review 25:Mary and Jimmy couldn't have been more helpful during our stay at the Evergreen. It was like home from home, very relaxing and peaceful, great facilities in the rooms and the breakfast keep us going all day. Thanks Vicky.
Review 26:Nothing at all to dislike!
Review 27:Close to Dublin and the airport. Large room, very comfy bed and the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, including fresh fruit. Jimmy and Mary were excellent hosts :)
Review 28:Jimmy and Mary were extremely hospitable, treated us like family. Even had a breakfast ready for us the next morning as we weren't going to be able to make their formal breakfast. The family room was huge and comfortable for my wife and my three small children. 15 minute drive to the airport.
Review 29:It's a touch out of the way, but nice point between Dublinand Newgrange
Review 30:Unbelievable customer service, it was like my family and I were longlost children. She took my children outside to play fetch with theirdog, she has juice and chips for them after a long drive. Breakfastwas massive!
Review 31:We enjoyed everything, Mary is a force of nature and a born host! A motherload of information about Dublin and Swords in particular. Excellent suggestions for meals out and always ready for any need. We were a party of 8, four of which stayed in the lodge, a huge family suite where you could happily live for long periods of time. Well furnished, furbished and functioning. We arrived on a wet and cold day and Mary showed us how to switch on heating and hot water at our pleasure. The sitting room was ideal to regroup all of us without disturbing other guests. Now a special mention to Jimmy's breakfast....Delicious and rich, the best porridge ever! A well deserved 10. We have been comparing all other stays to this and matched only once!!!!
Review 32:Delicious full breakfast with fresh fruit and French pressed coffee- as Americans it is sometimes hard to find good coffee in Ireland-coffee granules ( instant ) we have had
Review 33:Lovely host and hostess, they gave great advice for the evening and for Dublin airport. Gorgeous room, comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast. We'll go back!!
Review 34:The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast! The location is near Dublin Airport, so it was ideal for us as we were travelling northbound.
Review 35:Each room had an external entrance with an outdoor setting to sit at overlooking the beautiful pastures. Very peacefull and only short distance from Dublin City. Mary and Jimmy were excellent hosts and went out of their way to do our personal washing and drying for a small charge.
Review 36:Thank you ,Mary and Jimmy for their excellent hospitality!!! And not forgetting the warm welcome from Indiana at our arrival. My daughter and I loved the room which was large and decorated with good taste. There was everything you need ,from coffee/tea making facilities to details like a box of tissue paper next to each bed.Breakfast was fantastic!!!I have been traveling all over the world for the past 30 years,I can say that Mary and Jimmy's B&B is just the excellent place to stay. Thank you Mary and Jimmy for the great experience. We are looking forward to staying there again on the 24th of August. See you soon.
Review 37:They were fully booked because of the Ed Sheeran concert, but Mary and Jimmy have us the same attention as if we were the only people staying that weekend. Mary even gave us a lift into swords to catch a bus to Croke park. Quite simply the best bed and breakfast in Dublin.
Review 38:We were made very welcome with coffee & hot scones when we arrived in old car from Belfast. We had an excellent meal at the nearby country club - they even offered to drive us there. The property is very convenient for onward travel to Dublin & the south, through the tunnel.
Review 39:Room was larger, very clean, bed was really comfortable, nice shower, fluffy bath towels, and our room had a nice little patio off the back. We had an awesome breakast before we left for airport. Owners were very gracious!
Review 40:The internet was quite slow and went in and out. If high speed efficiency is important to you this might be an issue.
Review 41:Our hosts, Mary and Jimmy, were friendly. We liked the bed, the breakfast, and the conversations.
Review 42:Everything about our stay at the Evergreen B&B was 5 star....from Mary & Jimmy (the owners) to the super comfy bed and excellent variety at breakfast! Would recommend this B&B without hesitation and will definitely be staying there again next time we're in Swords....
Review 43:We have never been to Ireland before, and just wanted a night nearby the airport of Dublin before we moved on to Ballyvaugn on the west coast. I found Evergreen B&B at booking.com, and we found it convenient for our family of 5. Convenient is the weakest word we are going to present Evergreen as among friends and acquaintances! Cosy, generous, service minded and great are adjectives more obvious after our stay! Grateful salute to Mary and Jimmy that run the B&B!
Review 44:We had a late flight into Dublin however the hosts were able to accommodate this and even waited up to give us a friendly welcome. We stayed in the self contained cottage which was spacious, well equipped with kitchen including some food and a fruit basket, washing machine, comfortable beds and a generous supply of toiletries. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious and they very kindly provided soy milk and yoghurt to accommodate food allergies. Attentive, friendly and helpful hosts make this place a delight to stay in.
Review 45:Loved it all
Review 46:- Loved how close it was to airport without being in a crazy busy area. - Beautiful farm area - 12 minutes from airport, and no traffic going there during rush hour - Lovely breakfast - Mary and Jimmy were the best hosts! So kind and genuine. We loved chatting and staying in their wonderful home. - Clean - Very comfortable
Review 47:Mary and Jimmy were great hosts. They made you feel very at home. The breakfast was fabulous and both Jimmy and Mary were eager to help in planning day trips. We had a great 6 days. I would not hesitate to stay their again.
Review 48:There were 3 beds in the room, and that meant no chair. A chair would have been terrific!
Review 49:Nice place with nice people. Our flight caused us to leave at 4:30 am. The proprietor made us breakfast to go, and is was delicious. Fresh baked scones!
Review 50:Lovely location, not far from airport. Excellent accommodation, good size double room. Topped up by a real 'gut buster' breakfast which sets you up for the day!
Review 51:Absolutely nothing to not like at Evergreen
Review 52:Mary sent a text with very good directions to the B&B. We got a lovely warm welcome from Jimmy and he gave us a very welcome pot of coffee. He gave us lots of information re restaurants etc. in Swords area. Breakfast was a superb!
Review 53:This place is so amazing and like you are staying with family. We were made to feel so welcome and so looked after. Every little detail was explained so we didnt have to ask questions which was amazing as we were tired when we arrived. Totally recommend staying here. So nice to stay somewhere comfortable just outside the airport area where it is nice and quiet. Thanks so much for a fantastic stay and all your help.
Review 54:No armchair or sofa in the room (where you can sit reading a book or a newspaper). And there was actually no sitting room in the building.
Review 55:Wonderful (very helpful) staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 56:Mary and Jimmy looked after us very well. We arrived late at night and the fridge was stocked with essentials to keep us going until breakfast. The lodge is excellent for a family, had everything we needed. Would stay there again if I'm in the area.
Review 57:we got woken up at 5:30 a.m. by the neighboring room golfersö noise isolation is not great, but not an issue if people have +/- same schedules...
Review 58:The location, beautiful countryside
Review 59:There was nothing we didnt like.
Review 60:We stayed for our Easter break. It was wonderful, so peaceful and relaxing. We were made to feel so welcome and Mary and Jimmy couldn't do enough for us. They trully are lovely people and I would recommend anyone to visit Evergreen if they want a lovely relaxing break away.
Review 61:Our host and hostess made an excellent team, and they went above and beyond before and during our stay to make us as welcome and comfortable as possible.
Review 62:Mary and Jimmy were amazing! They welcomed us (at about 12:30 p.m.) when we arrived and immediately made us hot tea and coffee! Our room was ready and was perfect; very comfortable for 3 of us. We had plenty of towels for all of us, soaps and shower gel, a hair dryer, coffee and tea in the room (as well as these amazing little cookies), and lots of brochures for things to do in around the area. Breakfast was quite amazing as well. There were cereals, yogurts, fruit, orange juice as well as hot choices...eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled), bacon, sausage, oatmeal (which they call porridge), and the full Irish breakfast (which you have to experience at least once)!! There was always a basket of scones as well as toast with various jellies and honey. Mary and Jimmy gave us great information on buses to catch into Dublin and things to see and do. We have a fabulous stay and hope to return some day.
Review 63:None
Review 64:Mary and Jimmy indeed went out of their way to cater to our needs with two very small children. They were very kind and accommodating, even entertained the kids so that we could have a quiet breakfast. Highly recommended-
Review 65:We loved everything about our stay! The room and beds were cozy and Mary and Jimmy made us a pot of tea upon our late arrival at 10.30 at night along with some beer too! Great couple and great breakfast too! Highly recommend!
Review 66:Nothing not to like
Review 67:Rooms were spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable; hosts Jimmy and Mary were incredible - we stayed our last night before leaving, after a prior 3 night stay, and they took great care of us. I was very sick with a cold and Jimmy provided a couple of hot toddies and made us sandwiches so we wouldn't have to go out in the cold and rain for dinner. They were wonderful hosts and I'd stay there again in a minute.
Review 68:Great place to stay! Exceptionally clean and comfortable, staff were very attentive and the location for the airport was ideal. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and to the highest standard. Overall a fantastic stay and would definitely be visiting again in the future for another early morning departure from dublin (as its only 5minutes away!)
Review 69:- leaving and forgetting the sandwich so generously made for me.
Review 70:This is home from home. Very helpful and friendly. The owners even dropped me in town for free. This is really genuine hospitality. I left early missing breakfast and forgot the sandwiches that Mary had kindly left in the fridge! On site parking. 20 mins drive to airport. Great alternative to business hotel - they gave me a huge pot of tea on arrival (with biscuits). A hotel at the airport would have cost me 20 € for the same.
Review 71:We liked absolutely everything, the comfort, tidiness and cleaning of the room. Extremly available and caring staff for everything you needed, fantastic hosts. Breakfast was also amazing. I could not expect anything more. Location seems too far from the town, but it is not, with a very cheap cab in less than 10 min you are everywhere in Swords.
Review 72:Sounds of voices, TV etc from room next door until 11pm, (bed-time) then perfect silence.
Review 73:Everything! The double doors from each room onto small garden space with separate table & chairs is a great touch - if the weather is appropriate. Looks wonderful. The breakfast was a 10+ on a scale from 1 - 10.
Review 74:Apart from the small room no negatives.
Review 75:Friendly family run B&B about 15 minutes drive from the airport. They were most helpful with recommendations for dinner. The room was smallish but comfortable and quiet. We were told it was one of the smaller rooms. There was a nice garden and it was in a semi rural area. The roads were narrow and you couldn't really walk on them. We had a car so we drove to dinner. It was a nice way to end our holiday in Ireland with such friendly and warm people.
Review 76:Jimmy and Mary are lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had the lodge and were very comfortable there and had a brilliant sleep! A great stay!
Review 77:Tried a B&B instead of the usual factory motel fare and glad idea. Hosts were excellent - even gave me a lift to the local hostelry! Spacious accommodation with proper home cooked breakfast included in the price.
Review 78:Get up that little earlier for breakfast, so you can enjoy it, if you are rushing to the airport.
Review 79:The lodge was absolutely beautiful, it had everything we needed. The host were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great.
Review 80:The beds were quite old and poor quality.
Review 81:We were in a private cottage on the property. Breakfast was very good and very fast service, very friendly people. We did not use the kitchen, but it was well stocked. Would be a good stop for a small family.
Review 82:Having to leave
Review 83:The fact that my dogs are welcome to be in there crate in the bedroom, nice quite surroundings, good food and friendly welcome as usual
Review 84:Jimmy and Mary were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and we were all made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and home from home. The breakfast was nicely presented and excellent value for money. No complaints at all.
Review 85:Mary and Jimmy were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious, the grounds very pretty. You must rent a car to stay here, though. It wouldn't make sense not to. It's a bit of a drive to the town of swords, it seemed. I had a wonderful stay there, overall!
Review 86:large, comfortable, clean, quiet room in rural setting, only 10 minutes from Dublin airport! Jimmy and Mary are most welcoming, helpful hosts. Great breakfast. A good end to our Irish holiday. Would definitely recommend.
