Reviews for Casino Hotel
Review 1:Friendly staff always ready to assist. Overall nice property, simple and clean. Though could use with some maintainance here and there in the bathrooms etc. Nothing that for me was a deal breaker, would recommend the hotel to friends. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the staff for making this a pleasant stay.
Review 2:Nothing poor, could use more deck chairs to make use of their fabulous pool.
Review 3:We booked this hotel from Goa as me moved our way south at Christmas time. The price for the hotel fit our range and the photos online indicated some nice facilities. Coming to the hotel from the Yrain station was easy to Willingdon Island. Nicely istuated on the ferry runs to Fort Kochi. The place had great staff, quite comfortable rooms and a environ feel. We stayed over Christmas and the buffet dinners were of high quality, good choice, and value. The appearance of Santa was fun. The De Gama bar is a bit of a through back in time but it worked really well. We made use of their all day happy hour. The two bar men were well trained offered wonderful service. On thing we could offer as advise to the hotel is to invest in more deck chairs around their stunning pool. With only 8 chairs, we often laid on the stone deck or sat I the side of the pool. With the weather in ththe mid 30's with powerful sun, we used Thessaly water pool daily. Overall, a fairly secluded hotel on a very industrial island but quite a little gem in our opinion, we would come again on our next Kerala swing.
Review 4:Stuff was annoying, Buffett restaurant was under level and the price for that completely overrated. The prices itself for every extras were not realistic. The smell in the ground floor and in the rooms.. They call it 5 star but it is max 3 stars
Review 5:Pool, some friendly stuff, tv
Review 6:private sight seeing turned out average. kochi climate humid &sweaty in spite of raining.not many tourist attractions in kochi. ayurveda massage in casino just o.k.
Review 7:cozy,thoughtful hotel management,nice bar & food,really clean,private locker,minibar in room,friendly staff,front desk staff speak v.good english.
Review 8:The sheets of the bed was stinck, old hotel, doesnt worth even 1000 ropee, high price, better to take pleasent guest house in quarter of this price and much pleasent.
Review 9:Nothing, run away frim this place after 5 hours
Review 10:The lift was a little noisy and there was problem with hot water.
Review 11:It is a very quiet location, with a legacy of over 53 years. The property even though small is kept clean and maintained without hindering its heritage and the natural ambience.
Review 12:Amazing property, Always had a good staying in here. Nice rooms, very good pool (with "mineral" water no clorine addition). Restaurants are good, mostly the seafood one.
Review 13:The mattrasses were too hard and though the beds seemed to be comfortable I found it difficult to sleep on them.
Review 14:We were returning to Cochin after 25 years and wanted to revisit our old haunts. The new Casino is a vast improvement on the old hotel.
Review 15:Cannot fault the hotel, except that it would have been nice to have a hair drier in the room and the buffet breakfast though good was a bit pricey for the area.
Review 16:The staff were very helpful and very polite. The room was large and served our purpose well. The sea food resteraunt "Fort Cochin" was excellent though pricey. The grounds and pool was good for a wedding function which we attended. The location was very peaceful, though not in the heart of the tourist spots area but we were aware of that. Taxis and auto rickshaws were readily available outside the hotel. Easy ride by auto rickshaw or short walk to the government ferry station to get across to the other parts of the city during the day and evening, so taxis basically only required at night. There were a couple of small shops and cafes nearby.
Review 17:The hotel is a little run down. While the staff try the best, communications from staff can be improved.
Review 18:The hotel is located very near all the ferry station to Ernakulum and Fort Kochi. It is in a quiter neighbourhood that the other hotels located in Cochin and Fort Kochin, and also cleaner neighbourhood.
Review 19:Buffet breakfast menu.
Review 20:Quiet large room, crisp white linen, extra large comfortable bed, large bathroom with large bathtub, attentive staff, in-room dining excellent cuisine, poolside, gift shop.
Review 21:The purpose of my visit to Kochi was to attend a meeting. I was not able to travel to Kochi on 02.Sep. due to a state wide shut-down. The hotel did not agree to transfer my booking to 07.Oct. for when the meeting has been re-scheduled. My efforts to contact booking.com were unsuccessful. I have forfeited the booking amount of Rs. 2500 due to no fault on my part.
Review 22:The front desk they are not friendly, the guy how working at 7 pm he was very rude, he never smilin. And he was really bad behaviour I've been talking to the manger a bout this case how's name bijoys, then there wre no action at all. This front desk guy made our trip very bad. dr -Naeem
Review 23:Almost everything! If you have checked-in with your family and in the middle of the night (at 3:00am to be precise) if people (drunk out of their gills) come knocking at your door and continuously keep the doorbell ringing, what good things can go through your mind? The children got scared and are still haunted by the noise and not able to sleep...thinking about thieves trying to break into the room! And after complaints, the hotel staff said, that it is because of the Director's party. I am completely at a loss, about how can a 5-star hotel have the Pub and the residential rooms/suites on the same floor!?!? I would definitely not recommend this place for families to stay. And back home, my son still gets nightmares and is unable to sleep. This is what my honest opinion is about the place.
Review 24:Some of the staff members are nice and the food is good.
Review 25:Could do with a major bathroom renovation
Review 26:Friendly staff.
Review 27:Easy acess to room. Ability to receive guests.
Review 28:the wifi
Review 29:cleanliness style
Review 30:There was too much noise from the passageway in case you have a room on the ground floor
Review 31:None
Review 32:Good location and good price
Review 33:Hotel situated on what can only b described as what looks like an ind estate
Review 34:Bed comfy large room
Review 35:Wifi in the room not included
Review 36:Very nice staff
Review 37:Bathroom, Restaurent and the food. Durinv boufet the waiters were highly irresponcible and were avoiding orders.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:We had one incident where one of the staff in Reception phoned our room and 12.15am to ask if we could settle our bill. We were leaving the next day. We were not best pleased to be woken out of a sleep.
Review 40:The staff are very nice and friendly. They go out of their way to please you. The food is also excellent. We even got shown round the kitchen.
Review 41:Laundry service was not of a standard to match the rest of the hotel. We sent laundry and did get it back on time and on occasion, had to ring and ask for it to be sent. Items that required hangers, which we had requested on every occasion, were sent back folded and were as a consequence, greased. On one occasion the room was not made, the bed ete, or with clean towels,we had to complain and the night desk sent up a guy to to this work. He did what he could but the room was not cleaned to the usual standard. This may put us off booking there again, we come to India quite often.
Review 42:Pathetic service, despite check in being at 12:00 noon, we were only given our room at 8:00pm (this despite making a full payment in advance). The hotel facilities are satisfactory, although cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms is an issue. The room we were given was clean but the AC had not been cleaned in years, so that air in the room had a terrible smell
Review 43:The Seafood restaurant
Review 44:On arrival, I reported to the desk that the mini bar was short of items as they instructed. When I went to check on bill night before leaving I had been charged for all the missing items in the mini bar. Clerk said he would fix when I reminded him I had told him. The next morning at check out, items were still on my bill! The morning clerk fixed but it took time I could not afford in the morning....
Review 45:Incredible place for the money
Review 46:Fish portion cost 485 consisting of four small pieces terrible Chicken portion too small price tag too high Menu cost change your plans and their is no other eating places nearby. Best options for food in fort Lichi. Best advice plan your stay in fort Kochi
Review 47:Comfortable stay in good environment but away from main attractions
Review 48:The staff is poorly trained - it took me 20 minutes to check-in with no other guest around. The seafood restaurant caters just to the European crowd - if you want traditional Kerala food you're out of luck. Breakfast is included but the selection is poor. The rooms need to be upgraded as they date back to the seventies and being on an island getting to any place after 7PM is a challenge.
Review 49:They have an ayurvedic center that offers massages in the traditional manner. There is free internet in the lobby (but not in the rooms) and the rooms are relatively large and roomy
Review 50:Quiet place and a superb seafood restaurant. Spacious colonial style room.
Review 51:Staff, staff and staff
Review 52:Food
Review 53:Too short a stay!
Review 54:Loved the fact it was on the island with little traffic and wide roads that suited me running.
