Review 1：Nice and comfortable mansion in the mid of a good maintained park not far from the historic city Cortona. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast and good equipped, charming wellness area. Ideal for few days recreation for everybody who likes the countryside of Tuscany.

Review 2：Just being clear on instructions to the kitchen because of a bit of a language barrier but that was very much our problem not the hotels and in choosing somewhere off the beaten tourist track is an advantage far outweighing the minor details. PS for medium steak ask for well done !

Review 7：We have recently spent a lovely weekend at Villa Aurea near Cortona and have absolutely loved it! The resort is located in a very private location - a beautiful estate - with stunning landscaped garden and the facilities are also great. It's not a big hotel but more of a boutique and absolutely a true gem! I suggest to book when it's not high season so that it's a bit more private...if possible obviously! We went around mid-September 2015 and it was just perfect!If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city - like us - this is just the place to be! When it comes to location, as long as you program your GPS with "Campaccio" then it's easy to find it, basically there's just 2 ways you can go one is left and one is right, depending on what side you come from, and you will find it, no biggie at all!The atmosphere is really relaxed and it's literally 5 minutes car drive from the beautiful Cortona and about 1h30m from the busy Florence. Cortona is a true gem so I can definitely recommend spending some hours there, and I can also recommend the restaurant "La Grotta" just by the main square..it's a little tucked away but well worth it, honest prices and food is excellent!Food was delicious, or as I should better say "delizioso!", breakfast is served with fresh pastries "lovely cornetti" - and other "mini pasticcini", as well as savoury things... the staff is very friendly and elegantly dressed. If you want to dine there there's also a restaurant and on that particular weekend they had a sort of tasting menu with local specialities served as a buffet, and again, we really enjoyed it!Oh and for you folks that cannot live without Wi-Fi, YES they have it in the rooms and it works fine, but my suggestion is: leave the phone/tablet in your room and RELAX!!!

Review 15：Beautiful property just outside of Cortona. The staff was warm and friendly. The property was great for a young child as there were grounds to run around and an outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious and the service was wonderful. Overall highly recommend. Also the property offered free on site parking.

The breakfast is great, the grounds, rooms, and pool are all in very good shape, and it is great for families with children. This is our second visit here and we recommend it highly. Review 25：Very, very, very poor breakfast! You should pay extra if you wish eggs, for example. It is quite offensively because the price for night is very high! Also the breakfast is from 08.00 - 11.00 but if you come at 10.00 you have nothing to eat! Almost all food of this poor breakfast is finished! It is unbelievable! Even in 3 stars hotel personel always ask you if you wish something that is already finished and bring it.Cleaning lady every morning clean room. But they do not change every morning towels even if towels are on the ground. They just put towels from the groung accurately back on their place! Should be shame! In surrounding live lizards! And they may appear in your room, especially if room is with terrace! It is not a big problem it is just a lizard but hotel should inform people about this!

Review 26：Very careful and friendly people! Especially administration. One day we had a problem with hot water and it was resolved immidiately! Fantastic nature and wonderful view from the hotel! Very beautiful and clean garden! Very good coffee, like in all Italy!

Review 27：The 75-minute facial really only needed to be 60 minutes...they left me in there for 30 min alone to let the mask set, which is a bit too long (again, I'm a bit of a spa expert). But the facilities were amazing and I loved everything about the experience! This small negative mark is a #firstworldproblem.

The house is gorgeous, the rooms are very comfortable and the entire place is just magical. The food in the restaurant is really good. Review 30：Wifi is not everywhere available (only 2 of the 3 buildings). Pretty mediocre in today's world. We had problems with water drain in bathroom, complained to staff but of course nothing happens. Advice to hotel to be open, I did not expect the hotel to start breaking up the bathroom floor, but apologize and give extra towels to dry. Breakfast is mediocre (no eggs before 09.00) and playing christmas songs in early September.

Review 32：We have been there before but this time we have found lot of changes and improvements, which raised the level of the structure. Worth to be mentioned the cozy restaurant. But this time I'd really like to spend some words on the staff. We had a problem with our reservation ( was my mistake, actually) but it has been solved with kindness and professionalism at the reception desk. And according to my wife the quality of the treatments in the SPA is really high, both in terms of products and staff.

Review 34：There was an outdoor bar but this was only open in the late afternoon / early evening. The food was really nice but you could ply eat at specified meal times and the was nowhere within walking distance to grab a bite to eat. The taxi ride to cortona centre cost a lot but was worth it (don't even think about walking it) as it was so pretty and some excellent restaurants.

Review 36：Although the place was physically beautiful and very convenient toCortona, I had reserved here a suite, a double and a room for a familywith two children, 4 and 1 year old. We were 5 adults and two children.I was never told that children were not welcome. There was a pool and aspa so it matched exactly what we were looking for the last day of awonderful vacation where we were all going our separate ways. I was sodisappointed. My grandchildren were frowned on from the moment that wearrived. The rooms were well appointed but my very elderly mother foundthat the public restrooms were not even checked regularly and out ofbasic necessities... You get what I mean. Not what you would expect fromsuch an expensive hotel. The pool was unusable because there was anoverdose of chlorine and the children's eyes which were not effectedour entire vacation so it is not because they have sensitive eyes. Andmy daughter for whom a last massage was so important before she headedhome said it was the worse massage she had ever had. They did not eventake a history and never asked her any questions about her health. Sodisappointing especially since I was treating. The last insult which wasjust amazing they tried to charge us eur 50 in damages for scrambledeggs that had dropped from the babies chair onto one of theirupholstered chairs. So perhaps it is a place that is lovely, but wedidn't feel it.

But it’s all ok.. because this hotel offers great spa/pool/restaurant of their own, And it was a joy to spend a day there. We had a lovely and extremely tasteful dinner. The breakfast was good too.

Review 91：Old tv in our room. The remote control was falling apart. The guestswere not able to use the WiFi. The reception promised a cable for theinternet connection in the room, but after couple of requests at thereception and not response, we just gave up. Most of the guests had touse the public pc. Review 92：We chose villa Aurea to distress and use the spa as the website made itlook attractive. When we arrived for our easter break it was decievingit was very small and they could give us no massages no slots wereavailable. On our first arrival we had a fixed menu with no option orchoice for our children, we were left at the table with dirty plateswhile the chef and waiteresses came out and had their supper next to us.Our room was spacious but had an extremely unncomfortable toilet, wheremy legs where one foot of the floor and I am of average hieight. When wecomplained they gave us the excuse that it was done for physicallydisabled, my husband is in the buisness of care and there is no way awheelchair could go round the bathroom or up the stairs with no lift,they should have changed our room immediately instead we had to lump itand used our children's bathroom. We travel alot and we were notimpressed with the hotel. Especially since we had no slots available forany thing spa related, the website is extremely decieving and it is notfair for people who are very busy and just have a few days to chill withtheir family. I will not return to Villa Aurea and I certainly will notrecommend it. The least the management could have done was compensateus, but we obviously didnt complaine enough and just paid the bill andleft quietly.
