Set on Monte Amiata at an altitude of 1400 metres, Le Macinaie is in one of Europe's largest beech forests. This family-run hotel lies right opposite the ski slopes and offers a restaurant.
Former mill Albergo Le Macinaie has been completely renovated in 1999 and has a traditional mountain design. It features a children's game room with a Wii games console, as well as a wellness area with sauna, hot tub and gym.
The restaurant serves Tuscan specialities including homemade pasta and desserts and a variety of certified wines and olive oil. Breakfast is buffet style, with freshly baked cakes, bread, cheeses and fresh fruit.
Rooms include an LCD TV with digital and satellite channels, together with a private bathroom. Wi-Fi throughout is free.
Staff organise excursions and provide maps of cycling and trekking paths around Castel Del Piano. Motorbike and quad rental is available from May until October. Bikes can also be rented for free.

Review 1：We had a family room with a bunkbed- i thought the top bed was too dangerous for our daughter (no real barrier to prevent her from falling down) so we didn't use it.

Review 2：friendly, great location next to the slopes, perfect for a short wintersports break. Staff was very helpful.

Review 4：Extremely friendly staff, really able to help and give suggestions about the area and around. Nice and confy rooms, clean and with attention to detail: very impressed. Stunning breakfast with a whole room where you can choose whatever you want. Also the restaurant has very good quality of food. Slightly pricey maybe, but no quality disappointment. The hotel is close to the top of Amiata mountain and the surrounding is lovely. Really recommend!

Review 12：Very friendly personel, passionate about the region and it's kitchen. Biker friendly. Located in a beautiful forrest. Room is clean, although was small, but not too small. The food served was very good, as was the local beer.

Review 13：With a view of Mont Amiata and 4,480 ft above sea level, this hotel is asuperb find.The staff all had good English, had plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area and with a fire burning in the bar, was extremely welcoming. We will stay at this hotel again, and if you want a walking or mountain bike holiday, this is the hotel for you.

Review 14：Unfortunately my girlfriend was a little ill so we had to stay just one night instead of two...

Review 15：Simply, a great stay! The Hotel is very clean and the location is amazing! We had dinner there and it was superb, with local dishes. A special mention for the staff! Everybody was helping, gentle and smiling. Highly recommended!
