Reviews for Hotel Draga di Lovrana
Review 1:Absolutely beautiful property and location. Room and restaurant top notch. Staff is there to greet you when you arrive and makes sure every need is met.
Review 2:The location, accommodation and dining far surpassed our expectations! The short trip up into the hinterland from the coast was well worth the views from the terrace. And the food was superb.
Review 3:Very special location high on the mountain with great views of the sea. The building has a long history with Austrian aristrocrats coming here since the 1900s (although it burned down and was renovated more recently). Great restaurant that can get a bit expensive if you order a lot, but worth it for the views and the quality of the food
Review 4:Breathtaking "million dollar" views, wonderful place, very helpful and friendly staff, tasty food, beautiful nature - all together - amazing hotel
Review 5:The only thing one could complain about is the structure of the house itself. You can hear other guests showering, however, since there are only a few rooms, that is not much of a problem and the structure and history of the old building is what makes the hotel so romantic. Also the AC could be quieter. I would recommend a trip not longer than 4 or 5 days because of the 15 minute ride to the beach or back up. After a few times it can be annoying. Nevertheless it is worth it every time!
Review 6:This hotel has one of the most beautiful views I have ever experienced. Having breakfast while looking over the sea in an astonishing environment was very great. We enjoyed every single of our 4 days here. The quality of the food is amazing and although it is expensive it is definitely worth its price. You can rest really well because it is very quiet up there and the temperature is more endurable than down at the beach.
Review 7:Very nice hotel at beautiful location - the views from the terrace are really breath-taking. The restaurant is excellent and worth a visit in it's own right.
Review 8:The view from the terrace is breathtaking! The hotel and restaurant staff made us feel at home, and the food and drinks in the restaurant exceeded our expectations.
Review 9:Wonderful view of the Kvarner bay. The hotel's atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, away from the tourist crowds. Highly recommended for couples.
Review 10:Difficult to say what we did not like, basically nothing. Just worth mentioning that a car is needed and It is necessary to drive upwards/downwards the mountain for some 10 minutes few times a day but the view gives a great payback. Slightly overpriced comparing to the average in Croatia but the service and location pay back. Just a small remark is that the Director of the hotel has been the coldest and the only one who did not ask if everything was OK and we enjoyed staying there but the personnel in that sense has been very attentive and supportive. It might be that It is just a matter of roles, the staff takes care of the guests and the Director, so called, makes the invoices :-)
Review 11:Breathtaking view from the mountain to the sea. Everything is very well maintained and in order. Care for the details. Romantic place with history. High quality of the food both for breakfast and at the restaurant. Very kind, customers oriented and welcoming personnel. Extremely enjoyable having outdoor breakfast on the terrace.
Review 12:The location is on the other hand a drawback as well. There is really not much to do in the hotel and it takes approximately 12-15 minutes by car to get to Lovran. Air conditioning in our room was running all the time, but was not very effective.
Review 13:Nice hotel & restaurant with only few rooms located some 400 m above the sea level with some nice views. The hotel is nicely refurbished with great terrace for relaxing. Rooms are nicely decorated and breakfast was delicious. There is a quality restaurant, we only had deserts, but they were excellent.
Review 14:1. The room was not ready upon arrival, and the hostess offered to have a drink on the terrace. That drink showed up on the final bill(?!). 2. Dinner at the hotel was disappointing. Wine list should include more known local wines from Istra.
Review 15:Fantastic location high above the crowded town with commanding views of the Bay of Kvarner and Mount Učka.
Review 16:We adored our stay here. It's perched at the top of the mountain so be sure to use a navigational system but it's worth the drive! The view is spectacular. The owner and the PR Manager are extremely professional and welcoming; the first was born and raised in America and speaks fluent English and the latter lived in Germans and so speaks both German and English fluently. The staff was first rate, namely the adorable waitress Aleksandra. Our room had a small balcony and overlooked the sea. We hated to leave this place but we will return for sure.
Review 17:To get wifi reception, you needed to go next to reception desk .. because of remoteness, not the fault of hotel. No toiletries like shower cap, moisturising lotion etc included as would seem to be usual for a hotel of this class from other experiences
Review 18:If you are after a hotel that is out of the ordinary, this is the one, as long as you are not afraid of heights! It is literally perched on top of a mountain with commanding views in many directions with nothing else nearby. Quite a hair raising drive up and down the winding 6 kms or so of the hill. We got stuck going down with a large truck heading up, which proved to be quite eventful. The owners have lovingly restored and recreated this hotel with attention to every detail. The old photos around the building of the nobility staying there from a previous era are interesting The attentive staff will ensure your stay is perfect. We paid a little extra for a room with a balcony but I'm sure any room would have had amazing views. Having 5 star breakfast on the terrace with the views towards the sea and mountains was exceptional. The chef is one of the top in Croatia and we were not disappointed... Evening meal true gourmet and .reasonably priced.
Review 19:The long curvy road to the hotel :) But the view is spectacular
Review 20:The view, the restaurant, the breakfast, the terrace! The owner and the staff are very competent and nice.
Review 21:Guys... This lovely hotel is a perfect place for those, who appreciate high quality of service, cosy atmosphere, wonderful nature and exquisite cuisine. The view from the hotel is breathtaking. Please, don't bother that it's not so close to the sea. By car you can get to nice and free beaches in Lovran, Medveya and Moshchenichka Draga. My friend and I are so grateful to the hotel workers for all their help and friendliness. All our wishes were fulfilled in a minute. The dishes were so good, especially fish and desserts. Good choice of wine. Can't wait to come there again!!!
Review 22:The place is wonderful, the hotel is very high standard. Staff is familiar yet very skilled and professional, breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in my whole life, everything freshly baked and cooked at the moment. Lovely terrace; spacious, cozy and well furnished rooms. We ate at the restaurant one night: it could seem expensive but the same level of restaurant in Italy would ask 30% more. The perfect stay, indeed.
Review 23:Well, maybe the matrass was to soft my liking but that is really subjective opinion.
Review 24:Loved the view over the sea, really corteous and firendly staff, best (sea)food ever! Try the menu and let the cook surprise you.
Review 25:It is located pretty far from the sea and Lovran. Forget about going to this place if you do not have a car: it takes about 15 minutes to go Lovranand 20-30 minutes to go to the beaches by car.
Review 26:Very friendly staff. Impressive views. Good restaurant.
Review 27:Nothing to dislike for us but some people might be discouraged by the 6km drive uphill from the coast.
Review 28:View from the dining area and distance from the bustle in Lovran.
Review 29:The room was not great, but the view from the balcony made up for the somewhat spartan room.
Review 30:The view from the hotel was simply stunning. It is a bit of a drive up the hillside from Opatija, but the view made it worth the drive. The restaurant was outstanding. Fresh fish every night comes from the owners' fishing fleet. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely.
Review 31:very good staff and especially fine cuisine
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Superb hospitality, excellent food and comfort in an absolutely magnificent location.
Review 34:The place is superb ! People are very gentle. Restaurant is of high quality.

Review 36:Beautiful view.
Review 37:Quality of the place. The atmosphere and of course the Food and the place
Review 38:The view and nature were amazing!!!
Review 39:Expensive dinner but expected
Review 40:Location. Breakfast. View.

Review 42:the view!!!! the exceptional friendly personal!! the restaurant!!!! the location!!! the value for money!!!!!
Review 43:-
Review 44:- Views to the see and mountains - outside terrace of hotel and restaurant - breakfast - total silence
Review 45:Every room with a view. Spectacular outlook to the Adriatic. Great location for a very pleasant night.
Review 46:It was difficult to find in the first time. More signs on the way could have been very helpful.
Review 47:Everything
Review 48:Nothing. Absolutely nothing!
Review 49:Everything. The view, the location away from all the noise. The staff - in all areas was simply outstanding, friendly, accommodating, warm and caring with a great sense of humor. They even made sure we had a full moon for dinner. Simply wonderful. The restaurant is exquisite.
Review 50:They were hosting a wedding reception which had been booked after ourbooking.com booking. The music was so loud, and planned to continue mostof the night, we couldn't sleep there and had to move to anothertown. They claimed they couldn't notify us in advance because we hadused booking.com. We think they or booking.com should have given us theopportunity to choose (in advance) alternative lodgings
Review 51:Clean comfortable rooms, great view, close to mountain walks.
Review 52:Restaurant is listed GM 15, however dinner did not blow us away, still good restaurant! Breakfast buffet was limited, but compensated by a delicious omelette.
Review 53:Talking about a room with a view, this is the best you will get for your money, you look down from the mountain side on a major part of the Kvarner Bay. The rooms are spacious enough and offer descent comfort. During the breakfast on the huge terrace, you can again enjoy the view together with the morning sunshine over the bay.
Review 54:An excellent villa with a scenic terrace about 10-minute drive up in the mountains from Lovran. Very welcoming staff and delicious food in the restaurant.
Review 55:You really cannot beat the location, the view or the setting. Trulyamazing. Staff is excellent, both at the front desk and at the gourmetrestaurant. Dinner was fantastic with good suggestions from the waiter. If you are looking for a uniquely romantic spot and prefer to view thebeauty of the Adriatic rather than being beach front, this is the placeto be for Istria and Kvarner regions of Croatia.
Review 56:Absolutely breathtaking views of the Adriatic! The photos on the websitecan't do them justice. We saw the full moon reflecting off the watertwo nights in a row, and a gorgeous sunrise our last day there. Gettingthe balcony is worth it, to be able to step outside your room and seethe view. It is a long drive to the water, but we were not there inswimming weather. We had an excellent meal at the restaurant too!
Review 57:Fantastic food and personal
Review 58:staff, location, food are excellent !
