Review 1：The "queen" bed was two mattresses put together on a queen frame, with two single duvets. It just meant that I felt disconnected from my partner, which I hated. Might as well have been on different beds. Also, the check out time was 9:30 am. That's ridiculous. And the restaurant was only open from 19:00 - 20:00 for dinner, which was a tiny window, especially when in most of Italy dinner is between 20:00 - 22:30.
Review 2：The greatest thing about Pensione Vittoria was its view. It sits above the village of Colfosco and our room looked down onto the village, with stunning mountains in the background. It was the view of a lifetime, and the best part? It was visible from bed, so we woke up to it. I think a lot of people forget that Italy has parts of the Alps, and this was a fantastic place to see them. Everything I read talked about how fantastic the adjacent valley, Val Gardena, is, but it was a little too far for us to drive, (also too expensive). This valley was spectacular, and definitely worth a visit. The breakfast was great. Nice salumi and cheese, croissants, bread to toast, juices, coffee, tea, cereal, fruit and jams. And nutella. I think because the cater to skiers the breakfast was heartier than other places we stayed. One note: it was at the top of a hill, so if you're venturing here in winter, be sure to have a great vehicle for ice and snow. And chains.
