Reviews for Galaxa Mansion

Review 1:Really well kept tasteful older hotel. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Away from the old portin a quiet neighborhood. Excellent overwhelming breakfast. By far the best place we've stayed at in Greece in 3 weeks. Highly recommended. Beautiful garden terrace overlooking harbor.

Review 2:On the morning of our departure, when we had to leave promptly in order to drive to Athens and catch our flight home, there were a number of problems, which marred our memory of the rest of the stay. Our breakfast table was not laid as on previous mornings and this clearly flustered the waitress and meant we were not able to sit down for nearly ten minutes. The food was then served reasonably quickly. However, when my partner went to settle the bill with the intention of paying cash, there ensued considerable confusion, not made any easier by no one being able to speak any English, and the gentleman, who had been present every other morning having to be contacted by phone. We were assured by him that the bill had been paid and we could go. We were then told to wait by the women on the premises, with no explanation as to what we were waiting for or how long we might be. As we were anxious about our delayed departure we headed towards the car and were then chased by the waitress, requiring us to sign the credit card payment receipt, which we duly did. We would have preferred to pay cash but this did not seem to be an option. We were also a little disappointed at being charged on the final morning 12 euros for four small glasses of wine from the bar, which we ordered without knowing the price. This was the most we paid for wine anywhere during our stay in Greece. The accommodation and breakfast was otherwise extremely good value for money.

Review 3:The room was lovely and the view of the harbour from the bougainvillea surrounded balcony was stunning. The little terrace garden in front of the hotel was a delightful place to sit. The breakfasts were sumptuous and the staff were mostly very helpful and friendly.

Review 4:Nothing whatsoever.

Review 5:Exceptionally friendly and welcoming owner & staff. Breakfasts were amazing. View from room & balcony unbeatable. Room & decor clean, comfortable & relaxing.

Review 6:Good breakfast but would prefer buffet style to avoid wastage of unwanted excess food .

Review 7:Wonderful location, ask for room overlooking the harbour. Lovely garden area where breakfast/evening drinks served. Easy access to ruins at Delphi Many local restaurants

Review 8:Nothing bad to indicate. All was very good.

Review 9:the hotel is very charming. the staff is pleasant and helpful. The environment is very pleasant and close to the Delfoi site

Review 10:The small beautiful hotel is in a building of traditional architecture full of character. It has wonderful rooms overlooking the sea, with a little balcony to enjoy the sunset, though being very quiet it is in walking distance to the harbor with restaurants, bars and a lido with perfectly clean water; breakfast in the little garden in front of the hotel overlooking the sea is just a splendid way to start the day.

Review 11:Vassiliki, our host was extremely helpful and made our stay wonderful. It was like staying with family. Her guesthouse is beautiful and its location is idyllic.

Review 12:Shower was too small

Review 13:Everything! Cute little hotel almost on the waterfront with great views. Clean and comfortable rooms. We had a huge balcony with great views. Breakfast was huge and very tasty with many local dishes. We loved it.

Review 14:WiFi always out of range !!! Accessible only at check in point !!! Noise from the street.

Review 15:Nice location with very beautiful view. Breakfast with high quality local products. It's an old traditional house transformed to a stylish hotel.

Review 16:This is a historic home from Galaxidi's heyday, well maintained, and lovingly furnished and decorated: The elegant rooms are large with high ceilings; many have porches, several with fantastic views of Galaxidi's historic center across the old port. In good weather, breakfast is served outside in a terraced garden / bar-cafe, and people tend to return for drinks before dinner. There's a fine restaurant just downhill, and it's just a five-minute walk to others on the main waterfront. Galaxidi and surroundings are walkable / bikeable, with swimming spots scattered along the coast. The backdrop is spectacular: Mount Parnassos and Delphi (~1/2 hour to reach the archaeological site), and the Corinthian Gulf. The proprietors and their staff are very attentive and offer the warmest hospitality. I stop in Galaxidi every couple years, and have tried out several hotels/pensions. This is now my favorite--great spot, great attitude.

Review 17:Mosquitoes. Use air conditioned and/or mosquito repellent.

Review 18:This hotel has lots of charm and has a perfect location, with beautiful view on the small harbor and town and away from the crowded area. Lots of flowers (bougainvillea) and cozy. Huge and delicious breakfast.

Review 21:Yes, the shower is a problem-I guess because the house is so old there wasn't always room for spacious shower facilities. You take a shower and the bathroom floor is all wet, so time your showers well! Still, for a night is totally worth overlooking this.

Review 22:The location in the old-and calmer- port of Galaxidi is perfect, the view from the balcony of Erato room spectacular, the room spacious and impecably clean and the breakfast rich and varied!

Review 23:Galaxa Mansion is a traditional house in Galaxidi harbour which was one of our favourite places on our trip to mainland Greece. The hotel boasts fantastic views across the harbour and the breakfast was served outside, with the same view, which was very memorable. Excellent value for money and we can highly recommend this hotel. Although it has basic facilities compared to others it is very special. The only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer! The owners were very friendly and welcoming too.

Review 24:The shower within toilet and sink Very small and awkward to shower

Review 25:The quaint surroundings Personal touch from owner and other staff View from room was fantastic Breakfast on the sun terrace, superb How welcome they made us feel

Review 26:This is a difficult hotel to classify, the building is very old and full of character, but the bed was not great and the bathroom although again very quaint was difficult and uncomfortable to use. The atmoshere is lovely and the garden breakfast was very good. I would only view it as a short stay or weekend retreat.

Review 27:Great location if you're turning up in a small boat as you can moor or anchor 50m away - although water is shallow at the quayside. But enough for a good size rib or tender. Lovely view across the bay from the traditional whitewash and blue house and dining terrace. Clean and spacious room and very hospitable staff.

Review 28:Wifi was working well only at the reception. But this is not why we were here.

Review 29:Friendly staff. Very helpful people, The room was super clean, very artistic furniture and fittings. The terrace and view is beautiful. Nice and quiet neighborhood,

Review 30:nothing at all

Review 31:historical, authentic town and a jewel in that town. Vassiliki, the host and her staff made this cozy little hotel home for us even though it was only one night stay. Breakfast under lemon trees with home made jams, gorgeous view, comfortable rooms, great hospitality..

Review 32:Minor point: very small bathroom. And beware of the mosquito's at night. Screen doors would be the solution.

Review 33:If you like charming old houses galaxa mansion is just that. Great location, spacious room, beautiful view on the sea and the village. Breakfast on the terrace is amazing: a lot of nice fresh food that can last you through the whole day.

Review 34:Nothing I can think off

Review 35:The view from the garden, the rich breakfast with all those homemade marmelades, the very warm and friendly Vassiliki who also spoke an excellent English

Review 36:there is nothing we did not like.

Review 37:Rooms were clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast is incredible. Make sure you ask for room with a view of harbor. Just thought it was perfect. Would recommend it to all!

Review 38:It is a small and cozy hotel in the heart of a charming ancient town Galaxidi. You are accepted like a family member and taken care likewise. On our departure Christine woke up at 5:00 AM to prepare for us a delisious brekfast and Mrs. Vassiliki gave us a lift to the early bus to Athens. Thank you dear ladies!

Review 66:Lovely atmosphere and perfect breakfast.

Review 67:Thicker mattresses is a suggestion.

Review 68:It is such a Greek icon and location and staff great.

Review 69:warm owners, superview, good food, nice room

Review 70:beautiful location, great place for a honeymoon, we loved it, peaceful and quiet, love to come back

Review 71:I was startled awake several times in the night by dogs barking to each other from across the bay and, at daybreak, a cacophony of church bells. This wasn't the fault of the hotel but it did disturb the quality of my sleep. But can't complain otherwise!

Review 72:The building is amazing, dating back to 1825. The location and view are similarly excellent; the hotel has a terrace overlooking the town and bay. It's a bit of a walk (15 mins) to the best beaches but the location was so peaceful it compensated for this. The staff were warm, friendly and informative, particularly the manager (and owner?) Vassilika. When my friend and I arrived, we asked if we could get drinks from the bar on the terrace. Vassilika informed us the terrace was open only for breakfast, but nonetheless cracked open a spare bottle of ouzo and treated us for free! A very nice lady and an excellent hotel.

Review 73:Staff was great. The breakfast is incredible. Nice place overlooking the harbour. Close enough to Delphi but away from the groups and buses. Nice restaurants at the harbour. Walking distance.

Review 74:Like many places we've stayed, the shower goes straight onto the floor, draining in the middle of the washroom & getting things wet. We really didn't mind at all but could see it being a shock for some.

Review 75:We loved everything about this charming little place, everyone was so kind & the location just outside of the main part of town was perfect. Family owners and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our small, tidy room was equipped with everything we needed and more. The included breakfast was massive & delicious, while the view from the terrace was the best. Highly recommended!

Review 76:Very friendly reception and realy perfect breakfast with al home made marmalade, pancakes etc. Sympathic village with harbour and a lot of restaurants with e.g. fresh fish dishes.

Review 77:We booked a room with a view and that's why we booked thatparticular hotel. When we arrived we were informed that there was noroom with seaview left. It's a good place, but if you book it forthe seaview, make sure you insist on getting the room with the seaview.

Review 78:Very friendly owner. Excellent breakfast, nice location. Beatifulterrace

Review 79:Small bathroom

Review 80:bathroom small

Review 81:Good location. The best terrace in Galaxidi.

Review 84:no thick curtain on the window, too much light too early in the morning

Review 85:view, breakfast, traditional room
